Hi,
Anyone suggests worth buying Xperia Mini (not x10 mini) over the X10i, ignore the size of screen, apart from that its much cheaper and seems like everything may be more than x10i.
thanks
There is tons of development.
Plus they hacked true multitouch.
The mini has a lot going on

thanks for the comment... i actually lost my x10i (as you can see from my signature ...)
so now i was looking to buy something cheaper, was looking any second hand x10i and new x8, but yesterday sahibunlimited mentioned here that i shud go for
xperia mini, seems like the same processor as Arc, and lot of stuff and right true multi touch not dual touch....
was wondering anyone used it...

I'm using a phone with the same cpu/gpu and believe me that phone will destroy the x10 in every way.
You will realize how badly the x10 lags once you try that out

ok, sounds like a nice option to go for and cheaper as well.... everything i heard is great .. and thats with stock rom the performance you are talking about..??
only concern i have is the battery life, some reviews have suggested very terrible... but not sure as different people have different use...

Just in general..
Even at it's fastest the x10 is very laggy.
The battery life can't possibly be worse than x10 lol

LOL on x10i battery life... agreed, can't be worse than that...
gutted that i lost my x10i as i eventually found a combination of wb6 rom and addons to make it as fast as possible and good battery life...
but i guess i shud go for xperia mini now...
stupid of SE to name it so similar and just loose the x10... even many searches on amazon or review sites bring x10 mini when you type for xperia mini... two totally different phones altogether, could be xperia mini 2..

You get 1ghz scorpion cpu "just as the arc"
And a adremo 205 gpu "just as the arc"
Multitouch
where as the x10i has 1ghz snapdragon and a adreno 200 gpu.. the 205 gpu is 4 to 5 times faster..

Oh for sure!
I don't claim it to be at all.
It's in the same category as the arc, etc...
Still I traded my x10 for it,good upgrade I think.
I can save my real contract upgrade for when something mindblowing comes out.

The colours are often tooo dark and unnatural on the sgs2. There is not nuch loading diffrence between the Arc and Sgs2. The qrc screen has more natural colour that look great! So defibetely the arc.

if u want power along with beauty go for Samsung Galaxy S2 (the best phone available right now)... latest hardware shouldnt be outdated for another 10-12 months... btw some of the TOP devs at XDA are already working on SGS2 http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1058
lg 2x (aka G2x) has got good hardware but they have wasted a lot of space on the handset design... i have tested it and the display/screen is only 4'' but the whole device feels unnecessarily bulky/big almost as big as the 4.3'' ones... the touch sensitive buttons are not really very sensitive and require a little fiddling to get them to work (especially HOME button)...
if u just want to go for the looks of the Arc only then buy it... already outdated hardware... it is already 8-10 months old (MSM7230/QSD8255)...

SG2 is your best option for now but personally I'm waiting for SE to come up with a good xperia phone (hardware-wise) because although Sg2 is really powerful with impressive specs imo it hasn't got style at all

1 second faster?? lol
Where are you getting these numbers?
Also, 1 second of speed for a cpu makes a hell of a difference, one second of lag vs. one second of no lag.
It is 2-3 times more powerful and has at least double the quadrant score and linpack.
The cpu/gpu is a current gen vs. an outdated one.
You can think whatever you want, but electronics is my job/field.
The sgs2 is far more advanced than the arc.

It wasn't bad, but they pushed off releasing it so far that by then it was falling behind, especially with the version of android.
Then they release their new batch of phones, a full generation behind what the technology is shifting to.
I love my x10 still, but I'm definitely not impressed with SE's latest offerings. They're going to have to do/release something major to get me to buy an SE phone for my next phone

the dual core chips (MSM8660/Terga2) were already available they should have atleast kept the "Flagship" phones i.e. the Arc & Play with latest hardware and kept the rest on single core (MSM7230/QSD8255)...

I got an offer to exchange my x10i for a " HTC Incredible S " I love my x10i a lot but still if there's any worthy advantages in terms of battery under heavy usage then i wanna opt for the Incredible S .
I also think that the development going on in XDA is very slow for Incredible S , i'm also worried about it.
I know its a lot capable than x10 in terms of performance but what about heavy usage battery life and development ? ...
please suggest guys .. Also if someone owns an incredible s please mention your battery life reviews.

yes i know that, incredible s is total different class , but still i m worried about the development that's going on for it , x10's development threads are like 5 times more than incredible s' and i heard there are not much custom ROMs for it and no sections about undervolting too ... can someone who knows better about the development going on over incredible s suggest me something ?
That seems way to good to be true... be very cautious about being cheated. As long as there is nothing wrong with the HTC I'd do it.
The battery capacity on the Incredible is slightly smaller, I'd say it might have a little bit over the X10 in battery life because of an updated kernel.
But it would be hard for me to give up a very good looking phone such as the X10.
someone talk about the chances of android development for incredible s please .. cause no matter what mobile we have , we get bored without development right ?
Dude htc phones have way more development. Check other forums not just xda...
That is an awesome deal you'd be stupid not to take
For design, battery life and camera, custom roms etc X10
For speed, updates, choose the incredible S.
I don't think there will be a big developers community for the S because HTC has released a lot of 2.3 devices recently. I think the vast majority will get the desire s or sensation as the incredible S isn't one of the best looking htc's (especially the backcover. Personally I think all HTC's are ugly except the Legend and the new desire S.
and as skystars said, atm there aren't phones that really look better than the x10. Personally I think the x10 is still the best looking android phone available( less plasticy feel than the arc)
If I were you I would wait a while when newer phones come out. Later this year were expecting android ice cream sandwich which delivers a completely new user interface. Both the incredible s and x10 have (get) gingerbread so you won't get anything 'new'.
You can also get the incredible S, sell it, and buy an x10 again

First off he is getting a new phone with a better processor for an old phone.
Secondly the camera on the incredible s is about the same as the x10
The htc is new and already has nearly as much development (even on here) as the x10. It will only grow even more.
Anyone who tells him not to should get their head checked.
Also, am I the only person who doesn't think the x10 is that amazing looking? No one I know seems very impressed by it, it doesn't turn any heads

Hi scoobysnacks,
Are you now going to act just like in the multi touch discussion? When not only you were slaughtering OmegaRED after saying the x10 is capable of multi touch? Looks like that...
Beside that I must say, HTC phone have one of the worst camera's for smartphones. Just take a few (not one) photo's with the Incredible S and your x10 and I will assure you, that those from the x10 are much better. I'm also sure, that the focus on our x10's is much better then the one of the Incredible S.
So until anybody here has a Incredible S with some pictures, we can't compare which one is the best. But I think the x10 is better, since HTC camera's have never been good quality.

Once again, all I'm saying is don't jump to conclusions united you have proof/evidence...
Lots of people said the same about samsung before the sgs2 camera came out.
so it's wrong of me to say not to generalize, and to want sufficient evidence? From what I've heard and seen, it is quite good actually.

All phones around the same time have smaller sections. Check the arc, incredible s, etc.. sections to see what I mean.
The ray is a lot nicer than the arc imo.

I got the ray it only 210pound in the the o2 shop it faster than the iPhone 4s on loading apps.
screen is clear than the iPhone.
it has 1ghz CPU ram 512 free 8mps can it got gd2.3 super1click working just no fourm on xda fully working sense 3.5 working on it. It is a good fighter for the HTC sensation it is all most as fast as it as I no my wee bro has it and now he is moving over to the ray the iPhone is my wife's and the ray kick ass if u no any1 with 1 just ask them to show you it you like
super.sense 3.5 on x8
If you have some money to spend you should get the Xperia Ray, for me it is very good, but i love the Arc S and if my parents give me permission to buy it, i will buy it, i want a big screen, and a very good Price/Quality'n'Performance relationship, and i have that in Arc S
Some Xperia Ray Specifications:
- Small size, it is easy to use with one hand, like X8
- A High Resolution, wich gives you an almost Retina Display (as the iPhone 4)
- 1GHz processor, fast enought
- 512MB Ram, suficient
- Slim, i like slim phones, X8 isn't slim
- GingerBread 2.3.4 with all his good features, like XLoud, Bravia Engine, Swipe Keyboard (?) + T9 Keyboard (?) (adjustable in settings)
- SE will give it the newest Android ICS
- 8MP Camera, with 720p video recording
- 4GB microSD card included
I might choose x10.
Although it is an old phone, but still better hardware than many almost same range price phone.
Im liking neo. It has exmor camera. Although im still thinking whether to pick neo or ray.

I would rather go with xperia pro,it's really fast and have a physical keyboard but slimmer than x8,I suggest that you reconsider the xperia mini because of its buggy camera, but you could get lucky by getting a non buggy camera model like some of the other lucky people
Sorry to barge in this thread
But yesterday I lost my beloved X8. Obviously can't think of any other phone than Android, the question is which one? Shall I go for HTC or retain SE again. Managing fund is the major problem at the moment . And I'm not going for a high end phone. I don't think there is any point in spending big money when you've got Tabs at almost the same (or even cheaper) price than those big shots like i-phone.
That also brings the next question, is it ok if I go for a Tab instead of the smartphone and use bluetooth for making calls. I can have at least 7" screen and phone combined in one package. So which one should I go for?

Well I think Xperia Ray will be nice as the screen size is smaller than the IPhone and only weighs 100g.It fits in the pocket .

What is the price?

Xperia Ray is like the Lite version of the Arc. You can compare it and see their price range in GSMarena.

What do you think about moving from Arc to Zopo ZP900, it has big display, dual-core cpu, nice gaming performance, what do you think about that, please post your opinion

it wouldn't be a bad move, but i can't take the aesthetics of the zopo it's too ugly xD
Unknown manufacturer, I doubt about the quality.

Maybe it is an upgrade, but maybe the phone can last a little longer using a fast ROM like Beautiful ICS which is Best ROM for ICS i ever tried and then upgrade to an even better phone later

Same thoughts here...
Specs are definitely better than Arc. Looks like a GS3 copy. Manufacturer unknown!
Found on XDA ?
Is Zopo ZP900 on XDA ? If not, don´t buy it.
I hate my arc only for the unstable WiFi... Otherwise its cool whit HD+ because I can play the latest game Modern Combat 4 Lagg-free

I usually only buy from known manufacturers. A bit more cash goes a long way, especially for warranties and so on.
Off topic: Lol you actually watch top gear.
Sent from my soon-to-be bricked Neo V
i hv one also. this surprise me at the quality of the phone which is produced by a not well-known manufacturer. it is really good and very stable. one thing to care about is the charging time is a little bit longer. it takes you about 6 hrs to charge from 0% to full for that 2300mah battery. you should get a 1g ram version for a better experience.
my ordinary phone is xperia neo.
I have one and I think it is great. Running a custom rom from a Spanish developer. Just an FYI, htc was unknown a few years ago, although they built lots of pda for companies and others.
