I have Mango installed on my US T-Mobile HD2 with the ISV Cleanup update, but when I go into Wi-Fi --> advanced, I do not see the option to add a SSID. My wireless network is hidden (SSID not set to broadcast). I thought I read this is supposed to be working in Mango? Do I need to install the DEV_WIFI_PLUS_US_LEO.cab? What does this cab do anway? I cannot find an answer searching or reading millions of threads.
Thanks!

Ive read that the wlan utility.exe is added to most other Tornado devices but it's not included in the Tmobile SDA rom. I wanna use tmobile and use the wlan utility.exe which can only be located after removing checkmarks from hide system files, rom and hidden files in the windows directory.
This is supposed to take the place of Hitchhiker and Wififofum.
Can someone please provide it from their device?
Network Analyzer for WM5
Ok, nobody can help. That's ok. It's a learning process.
But I do want to help others, that's what this site is all about.
So here's the deal. Just read on msmobiles.com about the Network Analyzer for WM5. It will take the place of wlan utility that I wanted and do a little more. Here's the link: http://msmobiles.com/news.php/5561.html
Check it out, it does work and it's straight from Microsoft. Only bad thing about it is it has to run from the device, cant run from SD card. Oh, well neither did the wlan_utility.exe. Give it a whirl.
Hey man, thx for the reply, was of great use to me!
Double-post... sry!
Hi everybody! I've searched for a problem like mine here but I didn't find it, so I'm openning a new thread. I hope it's ok to do that!
I'm having some trouble trying to connect to the wifi network at the hospital I work. I tried to follow the intructions they gave, but these instructions are for desktop computers and notebooks and they have steps that I don't know how to follow in my blackstone. The instructions are the following (for windows XP):
-add a new network with the name: wifiuel
-choose WPA2 autentication
-choose AES cryptography
-choose PEAP access, go to properties and uncheck all options. Also, at autentication method EAP-MSCHAPv2, click on configure and uncheck the option to use the logon's name and password automaticly.
There are a few more steps, but from this last one I can´t go on. When I tap on the properties buton on my blackstone, I get the following warning: "Cannot log on to the wireless network. This network requires a personal certificate to positively identify you."
In case you just didn't understand the steps because of my poor english, here´s a link to them, but this link is for the windows vista configuration (I chose it because it is mainly in english and it has many screenshots, so I think all of you can understand it): http://www.uel.br/ati/suporte/pages/configuracao-wifi-uel/windows-vista-us.php
Any ideas of how I can solve this problem?
I'm runnig Dutty's Leo Holy Grail R0 rom, with WM6.5 and I can log on just fine in other networks.
Thanks in advance!!!
Hi,
just trying to help u.
in your case, maybe you need some sort of certificate like you stated above. Go ask your IT service/help desk on where you can get one.
Or maybe you need to register your device (WLAN Mac address or you need to use fix IP). For this, you also need to ask help from your IT service to register your device to their list, so that u can connect to their wifi network.
Not much help, but u can try them
Oh, thanks, I was going to do that anyway, but I though someone here could help me or indicate some wifi utility that could handle those steps to configure my network.
Well, thanks for your attention!
Moved as not software release...
Hey, I've got some news
I have some new facts to tell you guys and see if you can help me. First, I discovered that when I just ignore the warning that I get when I click on properties, I get another message saying that the server certificate is issued by an unknown autority and it couldn't be validated. Then I finally talked to the support staff at the hospital and they said that they don't use any certificates at all. No personal nor server certificates are needed. So I guess that the problem is with Windows Mobile, which is asking for certificates when they're not needed.
Is there any way to command WM to not ask for a certificate when logging on a particular network, because I believe this could be the solution for my problem!
Thanks in advance!!!
I just updated ROM on my US HD2 to the 3.14... version yesterday and noticed the "WiFi Router" icon is gone. Internet sharing icon is still there so bluetooth and usb sharing work. What happened? Also, when I download the program and install it from card to device, it installs as if OK, but the program does not appear anywhere as an application. But I am able to uninstall it. Would like to have HD2 as a potential hotspot - any help appreciated. Thanks.
check in the Windows folder if there's a file CMInternetSharing.exe - it is the WiFi Router exec, if it exists, copy attached link anywhere in the Windows\Start Menu folder
P.S. the "WiFi Router" app comes with the stock 3.14 ROM (the generic one, not sure about T-Mobile one)
or you can use a custom ROM which will most likely have it preinstalled..
example: the ROM i am using currently Dutty's ROM V18
Thanks guys. Believe it or not, the wifi router icon showed up the next day - it was not there when I wrote the request for help. There must be a delay in the process on the HD2. I noticed that Skype was also removed after updating to V3.14 from T-MObile. I wonder what else they left out.
Thanks all.
Hi all,
I can't access to the Internet using WiFi (WPA-Ent) and proxy in the latest build.
WPA-Ent connects OK but when I try to surf always receive a "check for roaming" error.
Was working in green mango.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance
Nobody knows about that?
I think it is an important bug, a showstopper for RTM.

Hi!
I have problem with cellular connection.
I've tried few roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078
I can't connect to gsm network.
Connection Setup says that my carrier doesn't exist in database (Play, Poland).
I did input my apn settings manually, but it didn't work eather.
On Android and WM6.5 everything is working fine. Few months ago I've had BackToTheFuture 7720 rom - without problems as well.
I'm running out of options...
Check if there is an update to Connection Setup, otherwise you could try flashing an original WM 6.5 Rom and see if the problem persists.
I've installed WM6.5 - everything is working fine.
Connection Setup from marketplace - same story as before.
Any ideas?

There is a new connections database cab for connection setup at yuki/xbmod tweaks thread, but Play is not in the database. Must be a niche carrier. Find out if Play is a reseller of a larger carrier.
Actually there is Play in that database. It seems like Connection Setup can't detect proper network (I'm using Turbosim to remove simlock - could this be causing problem?).
Is there a way to tell Connection Setup what settings should it use? Or set this manually?
