[Q]my X8 become a brick after i change the theme

hello everyone, i am a newbie. I root my X8 successfully.i want to change the theme. so, i replace the framework apk file in the system.After that, it becomes a brick. When i turn on the phone, it stops at the frame of ''Sony ericsson''. But i can go into xRecovery. What should i do? i want to use my X8 asap...

maybe u can reflash it via SEUS

ya...i have tried SEUS,i need to turn on to usb mode to connact the pc companion. But i can't turn on my phone. It is stop at the frame of ''Sony Ericsson'' text. I need to take off the battery to turn off the phone.(sorry my english is poor )... i think i should take my phone to the SE shop to repair...

If you can get to xRecovery, can you flash one of the Roms in the Development section. Things may not work, but at least you won't be bricked.
You could probably connect it to SEUS after

at first, try "fix permissions" in xRecovery
if it won't help, just restore firmware via SEUS

You didn't bricked it man... Brick is when you cannot use any home-tools like xRecovery, SEUS, whatever...
Now if you have backup just restore it, if you not have - flash it with X10 flasher. Or use the guide to install the newest update.

SEUS is different in pc companion because u don't have to turn on your phone when using update service all u need is to put ur phone to flash mode

How are you trying to apply the theme? There is a trick to it.

I had a rooted , xRecovery, app2sd2.1 mod dalvik cache, . . .
rebooted and bricked
no recovery, no nothing past black screen ' Sony Ericsson' screen.
downloading Update service from SE, but FA will get me past this screen so-far
( removed sd=no joy)(usb to PCCompan=not found(as I cannot mount))(cannot find fail-safe key-presses to factory boot???)

Try to flash with a custom rom and then use SEUS.. It might work

I'm trying with the Downloaded standalone version, but have a problem.
after I select the X8, it tells me to hold back button, and plug in USB,
now windows finds a 'semc flash' device, but hangs there.
Something is severing the internet connection ( USB internet dongle )
at this point the PC is locked .

please help...i think my phone get a very hard brick...i will explain..,yesterday i unlocking my bootloader and succes..,i use gdx ver14..,i had custom my kernel with a linux dx and its succes ,and then i try to change the custom kernel with fdx with overclock 760mhz ,and the problem its start..my phone cant boot ,just stuck in fdx logo..,and iam very stupid i click restore button on the s1tool..and the bootloader its lock again...,and now my phone can not boot again..only the indicator light its not dead..everthing its dead...,can any body can help me...how can i rescue my phone?....i am very need help now...please help me....thank you .

pull out the battery, put it in, don't turn on the phone, use pc companion or flashtool and repair your phone

Unlock your bootloader and put stock kernel. Then use flashtool to provide stock ROM. You could use links from fifo171 post. After that your phone should boot. My phone once stuck on SE logo for about 10 minutes and then flawlessly boot. Don't panic

my situasition its not easy...my phone still dead now...how can i unlock boot loader again if my phone cant life..boot loader need enable usb debugging..,and how can i flash my phone kernel if my bootloader still unlocking,and the pc companion se cant reconise my x8...,any other way my xda friend...i am very need a right solution....hiks hiks hiks....

Does your screen still show anything?
My only advise is send to warranty,if you still able to.

back to SE Stock rom via Seus

Do what fifo171 said.. To repair your phone, keep it turned off, press the back key and don't release it, plug your usb cable in the phone and the program will recognize it..you can now release the back button and follow the instructions on the computer.

About the connection problem... we mention it many times... as someone mention it hold down back button... its the same method we used to use with older no smart phones of se... this dont boot your phone like the on off button.

[Q] [HELP] LG GT540 Totally bricked!

Hi everyone. i take my friends lg gt540 last night to install the cm7 rom so i folow the instructions in that page and when kdz starts flashing stucks and gives to me a error. trying to get phone to download mode but the phone was dead no download mod kdz cant find the phone couse is like no battery connected. i follow all instructions in modaco everything. the prob is that i cant get the phone to download mode even drivers are installed even connected from back to usb port.
please dont tell me that i must take it to lg for fixing it. no waranty he bought it from a tourist really cheap nm.
maybe solution is to find a way to get to download mode.(volume down+power doesnt work,volume down+usb cable doesnt wok,no charger signal)

try using KDZ emergency mode maybe will work.. I forgot about how to flash KDZ since I dont use it much

try putting it on CS_EMERGENCY,this is for non working phones. do you hear sound when you connect your phone to pc?

No imagine a phone without battery. I try everything. So when i connect to pc must doing a noise? about kdz cant use it couse show me phone not found error. I will give a last try

leave battery in the phone. you should hear a sound that you know that is connected. did you disable LG virtual modem in device manager?

i try everything in a net coffee installing lg drivers only and used the instructions. yesterday i install and lg program disable modem still no luck. so if phone just doing that noise means that is connect it but how must kdz find the phone if the phone is not installed. (i mean not the lg drivers but the phone when is in usb debaging smth is installed in pc from phone) i search everywhere and everybody can get to download screen exept me grrr is not my phone orelse i will throught it from the window. so if the the noise is ringing means is connectid no need for download screen? thanks you and sry for my english!

you need that sound and download mode unfortunately. try installing new drivers and new KDZ and try again. if not take it to the LG service. do you have recovery installed?

No I though that no recovery needs to instal cm or alse i rooted and install rom i give last try and report if works thank you!

as far as i know its power + camera button.
Hold them down until backlight comes on. If you need it fixed by LG just lie about what happened. Dont tell them it died when you were installing a custom rom. Also from what i understand you cant get it to even turn on in any way? Or connect to a computer?

well i cant find where is the rom that i download but i remember that the rom from cm7 (v20a20) was smaller than the rom that i download from mediafire (i used google search the name of the rom and i realise that is 2-5 mb bigger) i didnt want to w8 to appear the download link so i thought will be in another page. well the phone is been sending to my friend now and w8ting. if he find a solution i will post it. thank you

Oke here's the problem. Flashed Darky's ics rom, with devil kernel. phone works fine for a month. suddenly he brickes.
Now i cant co in to recovery. so i think flash a new rom( phone wil go in download mode.
Problem!!! cant connect the phone with the pc ( xp ) cant find the driver.
did download the right driver and stil doesnt connect.
pc says ( new hardware found) and is trying to install driver for a gadget serial
Please can anybody help me.
Maybe it is something simple, but i cant find a solution.

Try to flash a stock rom via odin. If your phone is still booting dont forget to backup your datas before

Windows XP really has some trouble with new drivers. I recommend vista or windows 7. Borrow your mate's if you have to.
1.Flash back to stock through Odin.
2. Flash CF Root
3. Flash your darky rom.
4. Oh and your recovery problem was mostly likely because of losing the playlogo1 file in you .bin folder. I had a recent problem. I forgot to full wipe. :/

yes you can get a version back, any time with kdz, and that is the step by step guide. I used kdz on my L7 today and on my L5 you can go back to 4.0.3 any time. And you can install CM11 4.4.4 from 4.0.3 and 4.1.2 just flash recovery.
Root phone download L7cwm zip. Unzip in c drive on pc. On phone go to settings developer options, enable usb debbuging.
connect phone to pc with usb.
Go to your l7cwm file on pc c drive.
Double click bootloader bat.
On phone go allow. Phone will reboot when the phone turns on click on recovery bat phone will reboot. When your phone turns on recovery will be installed.

well you need to download kdz.zip first to your pc.
Extract the zip.
After that you need to find v10 frameware for your phone and download it.
On your pc open device manager, find modem and disable LG mobile modem. Restart your pc.
Take battery out of your phone hold volume up and connect your phone with usb to pc. On your phone you will see a yellow screen saying emergency mode.
open your kdz folder run windows enabler and start kdz update.
Set to 3QDSC and to Emergency.
Add your v10 frameware file and go start update.
Wait till its finished.
After that you will need to root your phone again and install cwm again.
