1ST!!!
Anyway, that still looks like a concept tablet, and most likely not going to be actually released...
Thanks for sharing though, that is surely something of the future hahaha

Stop saying 1st it's very annoying!
Also you never seem to contribute much just post for the sake of it.
If you even read the link it's something someone has done just for fun and not a "concept that will never be released"

How old are you? 5? This isn't youtube...being first doesn't make you the cool guy, it makes you look like an immature baby.
OP:Cool find! I can see that this will become standard soon with TVs running Android, it's bound to happen sooner or later.

If he don't release it, I'm gunna have to go to school and learn all this c++ and java stuff just so I can release it myself. And I don't wanna go back to school, that was the whole reason for dropping out!!
OMG i want it!!!

This might take the place of my love for MIUI
That looks pretty sick, not gonna lie. Did seem a little laggy on the click/drag of the "page flap" or whatever you want to call it, but shute... it's amazing how many different layouts ID has ported. I really wish I knew how he does it, he makes it look so easy!
I think if the work has been done and it's running, at the least he could release it and maybe someone else could pick up on taking care of it. It seems as though he's got so many ports and roms it'd be easier for him to pass the buck so to speak, like he did with MIUI.
I do have to admit, either he's just very talented or just happens to be the most active porter on the forums for the DInc.
I'd have to learn my phone all over again...but man, that's just too cool.

If you mean HoneyComb then you're going to be waiting until there's something official to work from unless you want a virtually useless SDK build. As yet it's not out there.
wait will come. how long you purchased sgt. ;-)

May I suggest changing the thread title to [Bounty] Honeycomb Port? The title "Bounty" is more consistent with other bounty threads I've seen here on XDA.
Once official is released (not SDK), I have $40 for a working CDMA port.
All I gotta say is, how in the world does the nook get a honeycomb port and we're left in the dust.....wtf! Thats an ebook reader

Obvisouly a very open and easy platform to mod. Hopefully After the 2nd we will have something to work w/.

That's not true. You can get make a working rom from SDK builds, but it'll (probably) be laggy and a lot of things won't work as it should. The wonders they've done on the Nook is amazing IMHO. Hats off to them.

Oh I've seen it. Whilst impressive, it's still a glorified tech demo. It's certainly not very useful as a full system.

Pretty sure that's basically what I said. "virtually useless" = "lot of things won't work as it should". The usual suspects of GPS and Camera will be high on that list.
If people are happy with a system with very few native apps which is slow & unstable (ala the Nook "port"), then sure, go for it. Otherwise you're still going to be waiting for AOSP to drop, (which may be later today, but I'm not holding my breath), or for an official firmware to rip apart. Then someone needs to hack the hardware-specific drivers into life on the tab, might be a piece of cake if the 2.x source is friendly with the 3.0 libraries, someone more coding-minded would need to assess that one.
I'm all for someone hacking something together to have a play with to see what it looks like, I just hope people aren't expecting a release-quality port based off an SDK "demo".

Scratch that... I bought one today haha
Ill put down $25

I'd give and keep giving as long as development continues, I would love a fully functional honeycomb port. To be honest I'm dying to get something as smooth and fast as cyanogen on my tab cause I hate the fact that my nexus one performs better than my tab, faster, and has more features than my tablet =\ especially since the tablet has more powerful hardware. I can't wait for honeycomb and I'd freakin subscribe if there was a donation subscription.

An analogy you can relate to, 'you plan to meet up with mates to socialize, but they don't turn up at the meeting place, no phone call. You'd be a bit annoyed, a phone call would have done.

I still love webtop, however with ICS I think it's going to change a bit. Since ICS is a combination of phone and tablet interfaces I think plugging in your phone to either the lapdock or a TV/monitor will go from the small phone to the larger tablet display.
I'd also like to see this on more phones as well.
Anyone have any thoughts or comments?
Webtop
While the idea is awesome, I think Mootoo will continually screw it up and keep it totally dependent on their architecture rendering it useless except for remedial work. Now if Google/Android were to pick this up and run with it, that would be a totally different story.

Gotta agree with you there. Why the hell do they feel the need to screw with what works? I have to wonder if they ever actually ask any users what they want at all.
I see no benefit whatsoever to the new interface/layout, just another thing to have to get used to. And yes, it is ugly.

Odd idea but here goes. Has anyone thought of trying out androidx86 on the webtop?
Much like a custom debian/ubuntu install would work. I mean it's not just for x86 processors as they have a Tegra2 ICS build out now.
I unfortunately don't know enough to do this myself.
I'm gonna go read up on this androidx86 thing sounds very interesting

We have had alot of different mobile OS announced/released in the last few years(tizen, firefox, sailboat, fedora, even webOS) and all of them have still yet to make any type of splash. Windows has partners and phones on the market yet still struggles to make a large impact. It's going to be insanely hard for Ubuntu to do anything note worthy at this point.
Can't wait to fork it.
I'd really like to give it a go!
I can see it dying very quickly. Ubuntu is in the perfect spot to take over a large chunk of the desktop and instead they try to take away from Google .....

I see this actually getting popular, and let me tell you why. Assuming I haven't misunderstood anything, they are also releasing Ubuntu for Android as well. Now Google will likely update Android to match Ubuntu's features (which is essentially much better multi-tasking), this is a given. However, there are so many phones that are stuck on outdated versions of Android (or install not always stable/complete custom roms). As long as your phone (or tablet) is a dual core, you'll be able to install Ubuntu for Android and voila, you now have a proper multi-tasking OS.
That's all you'll need, you'll become accustom to Ubuntu on your phone and you will consider an Ubuntu phone as your next purchase. I am excited to see how this unfolds and I am very anxious to install Ubuntu for Android on my Android phone and tablet.
I'm actually excited for this. The OS itself looks nice, and not like any other thus far. I honestly think this will be a contender in the smartphone world. How many of us use ubuntu for developing? And anyone into custom android stuff would probably be excited to try it since it is new and different. I feel like even if it isnt going to be the next big thing, dev's and people that like simplicity are going to love this.
ubuntu?
yes! very excited, it will be awesome to see how it all plays out after it is out there!
I can't see Ubuntu phones taking a noticeable share of the market. Even I, a Ubuntu fan and early adopter, am not so keen to abandon Android to use a Ubuntu phone. However, it would be cool to try something new.
