If you mean HoneyComb then you're going to be waiting until there's something official to work from unless you want a virtually useless SDK build. As yet it's not out there.

May I suggest changing the thread title to [Bounty] Honeycomb Port? The title "Bounty" is more consistent with other bounty threads I've seen here on XDA.
Once official is released (not SDK), I have $40 for a working CDMA port.
All I gotta say is, how in the world does the nook get a honeycomb port and we're left in the dust.....wtf! Thats an ebook reader

Obvisouly a very open and easy platform to mod. Hopefully After the 2nd we will have something to work w/.

That's not true. You can get make a working rom from SDK builds, but it'll (probably) be laggy and a lot of things won't work as it should. The wonders they've done on the Nook is amazing IMHO. Hats off to them.

Oh I've seen it. Whilst impressive, it's still a glorified tech demo. It's certainly not very useful as a full system.

Pretty sure that's basically what I said. "virtually useless" = "lot of things won't work as it should". The usual suspects of GPS and Camera will be high on that list.
If people are happy with a system with very few native apps which is slow & unstable (ala the Nook "port"), then sure, go for it. Otherwise you're still going to be waiting for AOSP to drop, (which may be later today, but I'm not holding my breath), or for an official firmware to rip apart. Then someone needs to hack the hardware-specific drivers into life on the tab, might be a piece of cake if the 2.x source is friendly with the 3.0 libraries, someone more coding-minded would need to assess that one.
I'm all for someone hacking something together to have a play with to see what it looks like, I just hope people aren't expecting a release-quality port based off an SDK "demo".

I'd give and keep giving as long as development continues, I would love a fully functional honeycomb port. To be honest I'm dying to get something as smooth and fast as cyanogen on my tab cause I hate the fact that my nexus one performs better than my tab, faster, and has more features than my tablet =\ especially since the tablet has more powerful hardware. I can't wait for honeycomb and I'd freakin subscribe if there was a donation subscription.

Is it possible for us to start working on a port of it now that we have a functional Clockwork Recovery from Koush?
Edit:
$100 currently pooled for the person who gets fully functional CyanogenMod working on the Tab. (T-Mobile)
If you'd like to make any other contributions to this pool, post it in this thread and we'll get a rough idea of how much money we can send someones way once they get this thing functional and easy to install.
Yep, go ahead and get started on it.
It's unlikely that CM6 will come to the Tab any time soon (if ever...), as they are JUST getting some early betas out for the SGS.
The work required to get it working on any new phone/tablet is immense, and therefor I doubt it'll come to the SGT simply because they don't have the time.... or the Tabs.
Well we have Clockwork and I believe we have the source (right?), so..
Money is a good motivator. I'm willing to donate $100 to the first person who gets a working beta of CM ported to the Tab.
Cyan 6 will be perfect for the Tab I will be the 1st Modify Cyan for an Android Tab.

and i dont think it will be easy to port CM6.1 to the Tab because we would need to rewrite most of the apps because of the higher resolution!
Its gonna be a bit more difficult than porting over. Youll have to rewrite most of the xmls and completely redo a lot of the graphics.

I don't have a tab but I would assume if you have it rooted, you can just download titanium backup from the market and delete carrier apps through it.

I dunno if straying away from the stock Rom is the best idea. Right now as we have it, everything works. Going AOSP will probably break everything. I think its best to take a stock Rom and modify it. I'd like if the menus were black rather then white, but that's just a themeing issue.

i dont know why people are thinking this will be crazy impossible. has anyone visited the viewsonic g tablet xda forum? you realize its a 10.1 in screen and its running cyanogenmod. i dont think it will be that hard to get it on, the real question is WHO will do. its possible and the screen size isnt an issue, just gotta find someone who actually owns this and wants to modify it. i actually like touchwiz, it works well. but the tab just needs to be optimized.

Its not a case of screen size, although that would be an issue with porting, its more like 'who on the CM team has a Galaxy device?' I havent heard of a release for any of the Galaxy devices (i dont check often but its usually big news if they expand the phones theyre working on)

Let's set up a bounty!
That would be truly awesome... Sense UI is amazing...
Even if OP isn't a developer, I'm sure the thread can bring together developers who would be willing to spare some time and effort to get it ported... That's what XDA is all about
I think a good start would be to set up a bounty so we can entice those that do have the ability to get onto it...

Just watched the stream and here are my thoughts:
Ice Cream Sandwich looks like a crap. Personally it looks like a jumbled honeycomb and WP7 aka "Magazine Interface". Google had the chance to pick up the ball Apple dropped and make the design a little more inviting. From the the blue Tron glow of the dialer to the metro like interface of the people app (?) it's like 5 different themes jumbled into one.
Hardware wise, it gets a meh. I'm just excited to get the larger screen plus Super Amoled HD
Despite that, the features are amazing. I was particularly blown away by the instant voice, nfc sharing, and new photo features. Android has come along way.
Shame they didn't touch on ICS for tablets as this was the OS that ties phone and tablet together.
In another note, reading the Engadget comments, I'm particularity amused that most "comments" (apple fanboys) believe that this was the first time Android featured folders. HA! Take that Apple!
So because it has squares an swipes to side its metro ui???

Face it, the Vibrant is DOA. Either be happy as it sits, or move on. I'm outtie.
I liked ICS and the phone. I just wish the phone had a better GPU, it has practically the same GPU in our current vibrant (power vr sgx 540).
The Super Amoled HD screen should be impressive, then again with that higher resolution a better GPU would have been nice!
If the phone comes to T-mobile or At&t soon, I will get it.
Also ICS is deffinately coming to Nexus S.

No luck there...I ditched my Vibrant for the amaze. Samsung build quality is **** in comparison. Hell, my N1 is built like a tank...plastic bezels are for cheap phones--why Sammy keeps using them blows my mind. I'd rather fight s-off/etc. with a well built device than deal with the gsII/ Prime's cheap build quality.
As for ICS, it's all a software gimmick. Skins really do make a difference. AOSP is for boring ****s that think bare-bones is attractive. If that were the case, I would've married a 12 y.o. girl.

I don't really care how Touchwiz, Sense, or any other manufacturer based UI looks like. But the thing is when they mess with the phone's software they tend to slow it down which makes AOSP better.

In the United States, phones are very cheap.
That's not the case in other countries, you can read about it here:
http://www.xda-developers.com/feature/outside-the-big-tech-scene/
Maybe in the US you can allow to upgrade your phone each year or even less, in other countries you usually stay with your phone for much longer.
So, I don't think the Vibrant will be forgotten so soon.
Even the G1 phone has some unofficial mods for Gingerbread and even Honeycomb.
So why would our phone be forgotten?
Someone is offering me to trade my 16GB Galaxy Tab 7 3G/Wifi + cash top of SGD$250

FOR
his 32GB Xoom 3G/Wifi -
- 5 months old.
- 10/10 condition. Placed in otterbox defender case worth USD 90 and Japanese screen protector worth SGD$69
Opinions? Looking at the development of Xoom, it's not really that active huh. Guys I need some opinions Thanks.
The development of the Xoom isn't that active because the Xoom gets it's updates first, and the source for Honeycomb was never released making Cyanogen-esq projects impossible. Now that ICS's has been released, along with the source, I suspect this will change. But even so, the Xoom doesn't need a huge amount beyond rooting and custom kernels, both of which are active projects.
Regarding the deal your associate wishes to make, it's a damn good one. He's after your decrepit Tab 7 in return for his Xoom, which is a far more capable device. So the only issue is if your cool with going through with a deal which will leave the other party at a disadvantage.
Uh... Do it!

Xoom is definitely better than a Samsung Galaxy Tab, especially considering the hideous abomination that is Touchwiz. However, I think you could find a better deal. I don't know about where you live but where I am a quick search on craigslist yielded several LNIB Xooms for less than $300.
You should be able to sell your Galaxy Tab, and then take the $250 that you were going to pay ontop of it for the trade and buy a brand new Xoom. and still have some money left over.
If you are in an area where it's not easy to find high end electronics for sale on the private market then yeah by all means go ahead with the trade...maybe try to get him down to $200 cash ontop of your Galaxy Tab.
Good luck...and BTW we have a nearly fully functional AOSP ICS rom available to us, what more could you want from our devs?

Another alternative would be a web-top, or web only desktop. But markets have not responded to web-only environments. The desktop is a high-productivity mode, not a media consumption mode or a browsing mode. That’s why we’ve brought the full power of a native desktop to this solution.

btw, this is talked about on lwn.net: http://lwn.net/Articles/482760/

Source: http://www.extremetech.com/computing/119031-canonical-reveals-ubuntu-for-android/2
The other problem is that while Canonical is pushing the build to hardware manufacturers and mobile carriers, it has no plans to release it to the general public for independent development. This means that you won’t see a CyanogenMod ROM with this functionality built into it. While Ubuntu is open source, Canonical plans to control the release of this version. It’s possible that, given the ingenuity of Android users, one day there will be a leaked build, but such a thing wouldn’t be endorsed by the company.

Are they not forced to release the source code because of GPL?

They only have to publish the portions of code which are not proprietary, which we have the majority of, assuming they modded stock Ubuntu.
At least, I think.
I contacted canonical about the availability of the source code. Also asked them if they had any plans for targeting android devs/hobbyist.This is what the atrix has been waiting for. I'm really interested on this, awesome find OP. If they ship source code a cm webtop is within months.

Ha! I was thinking the same thing in regards to cm webtop. I also put in a request for source as I'm seriously debating picking up an Atrix JUST for this. This looks like a great platform to develop for.
I was reading around and found an article saying it is open source, but there was no link to the source, nor can I find it.
If I do, I'll post back as well. Hopefully it's out there, if not, crossing fingers they release it.
Has anyone seen the VIDEO yet??
Theyes DID use an Atrix2 as a test mule. And as you can see, it works PERFECTLY. Although they didn't launch any desktop apps (Chromium, GiMP, Libre Office are the ones I'm really on edge for) you can see the deep integration-- to the point where I'm almost sure that they worked in secret and sold a bastardized version of Ubuntu 9 to Motorola. I'd always thought that it was an internal project of Moto's to make webtop… Since Google bought the cow, Canonical seems to be letting the cat outta the back and trying to sell it to the phone industry at large now. However I'd also say two things…
Make an open source version that us gear-heads can sink our teeth into. If they want to create a "fan base" that can get behind their effort, they'd owe it to themselves to jump over here onto XDAdevs and let folks like SamCripp, the Atrix Dev Team, and the CM devs help out. Get folks like me who are crazy enough to use their LAPDOCK as their DAILY WORK COMPUTER (using it RIGHT NOW and I have no webtop even since I'm using CM7 at the moment. I've used nothing but Linux at home for years, so someone like me can shake down their efforts and give them a real-world test.
