Yeah, this was on the portal yesterday (maybe today? I forget) At least we don't have this.

Even if we did have that on our device. You can delete the file so you don't have to worry about it

Yes, but what about the users who wish to be unrooted (or are to oblivious to know out exists?) They are hugely vulnerable.

I have 2.2 it has htclogger1.6

2.3.3 as released in the "rooted" kit available in another thread -does- have HTC Logger, I just manually uninstalled it via Titanium this morning.

I think the ones in older Sense devices just logs crashes in apps though, while the one in new Sense devices logs everything, giving the old one less important info, and leaving the new one far more vulnerable.

Isn't this where droidwall or the like comes into play? Removal is always best but blocking those unwanted apps from accessing data should be commonplace.

removed

good to go.

Don't have it on MikShifted-G 1.6 so all good.

yep, still use a pencil too sometimes to write notes too
i'll have to check it out, hear alot of good things

I am running SSv5. Will I screw up the rom if I remove it with Titanium??

Shouldn't do anything but protect your private info, my friend. If you're nervous about making the change just make a nandroid first.

I removed it from my wife's stock 2.2 shift and it caused a force close loop which I had to pull the battery to fix. Once the phone rebooted everything was fine though and the logger was uninstalled.

Damn lol I never like sense but damn this just makes me not want to use it all. Lol

Sense/de-Sense?

I don't spend a whole lot of time in these forums. Mostly just following what's going on with the latest ROMs/leaks/radios, etc. I personally don't understand the reason that people was to de-sense their phones. Only thing that I see that it does is the "slide down" unlock (the part of it that I NEED), and the main clock/weather screen. Is there more to it that I am missing that's bloats it?

Oh, I am removing tons of BS APKs, but is there a way to keep the "slide down" unlock and home screen? Or is removing the APKs basically doing just that?

I'm also not sure if I should get rid of Sense. Can someone put exactly whats in 2.2's Sense because I'm not completely sure of what I would lose if I drop it. Also, if I do get rid of it is their a way to keep Friendstream? I like not having to check Twitter and FB seperately. Thanks guys.

Yeah, just been browsing the forums as well. This will be my first root so I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait to get rid of the stupid garbage that Verizon won't let you uninstall.
It'll be my first time as well. I can't wait!
It will also be my first time. I already have a rom picked out (Skyraider Sense 3.3.4) and I cant wait!!!
I would recommend checking out SkyRaider, Myn's Warm Two Point Two, and/or Virtuous to anyone starting out very nice, solid ROMs.

So i just used unrevoked3.22 the brand new one for DINC.
when I try to boot into recovery to do a backup it just goes to a black screen with white borders and sits...
Any ideas?
if I reboot it back to HBOOT it does say S-OFF...so the root must have worked...
EDIT
Nevermind...I then found a separate set of instructions that mentioned a specific recovery for my SLCD screen - all is well now.

You can either do one of two things:
1) Download BusyBox from the market and run it and follow the instructions or
2) Run Titanium Backup and wait for the error to show. Once it clears out hit the Problems? button. It will install BusyBox for you.

Sorry, I bought some tablets for staff. One of the users of the latest upgraded Tab to 1.4.4 says that her tablet buttons don't respond very well after the update.
She is the only one on 1.4.4, the rest are on 1.4.2
Are there any long fingernail issues? And beliwve it or not, some people are button-challenged. I would definately observe her.
Edit: Adinis78 mentioned his search button didn't work correctly in 1.4.4 -- maybe this is an issue for some.

I don't think you can use the upgrade version of 1.42 - you will have to do the wipe version, or the problem will still be there. If she has many apps, etc. remember use titanium to back up her apps and their data, but no system data.

[SRF 1.1.1/1.2.0]The Teasing, Reasoning, Thread (Development DELAYED)

Delay in SRF ROM development. I am very sorry to give this message to everyone.
"Swiss Cheese Samsprint" - aka EE03 Gingerbread
Current things i know of being implemented in SRF 1.1.1/1.2.0
- Browser fixed
- Speed improvements
- Voltage control (new kernel)
- Aesthetic Changes (as impaler call's them)
- New Wallpaper as default. (click to see)
- misc tweaks and mod's around the forum (but srf style, Like the one's listed here)
- Journaling ON/OFF versions
- CWM 3.0.2.5 compatible
Question's
- Will the new kernel have CWM3.0.2.5? and if it will be in 1.1.1 or not until 1.2.0?
- Are we getting 1.1.1 first or a whole 1.2.0? =)
Yes.

I would love if my phone's browser didn't "freeze up" when I have a low battery! Hope that'll be fixed!
One thing I don't get is why even bother to release something with journaling off? It ducks up the system during certain all too common situations. are the milliseconds that you gain really worth it?

I agree. Disabling journaling was no speed improvement that was necessary; all it really did was risk your data if your phone ever froze.
Obviously you people don't care about your phone's life span. journaling on, will make your phone read and write about 1.4x more then normal. Flash memory isn't eternal living.
But anyway. the reason there isn't one, is because it had issue's. so it was removed. If you want journaling. make a nandroid of your SRF 1.1 then restore it. OR use the on/off mod.

Question: what kernel is this rom carrying? I'm back and forth from Froyo to GB because of two issues: BT calls breaking occasionally when I answer, and camera stability. Wondering if you're having issues with either.

All right smart asses. Jcase pulled his ROM since he knew it was using an alpha radio that bricked phones. Using any gingerbread ROM with a connection to data (I.e. Using the alpha radio) gives you a chance to brick your phone. No one knows why this radio causes issues but it does.
Happy now?
I am not trying to defer people away from this ROM I am as happy as anyone else that we have another toy to play with but people need to now there is a serious risk that cannot be avoided by making sure you flash correctly or don't mess with the wrong thing. It just happens. Again Zarboz thank you for the ROM I just want people to have a heads up about the issues.
And just so everyone knows I am currently using this ROM and don't plan on jumping ship anytime soon.
