I have a tab that we just installed 1.4.4 on and now the person using it says that the capacitive buttons don't respond well now... any ideas/suggestions?.
Who is we? And what person says they don't respond well?

Sorry, I bought some tablets for staff. One of the users of the latest upgraded Tab to 1.4.4 says that her tablet buttons don't respond very well after the update.
She is the only one on 1.4.4, the rest are on 1.4.2
Are there any long fingernail issues? And beliwve it or not, some people are button-challenged. I would definately observe her.
Edit: Adinis78 mentioned his search button didn't work correctly in 1.4.4 -- maybe this is an issue for some.

As rangercaptain said, some people use their nails to press them like they had to on old touch screens. Try downgrading to 1.4.2 and see if that helps.

No it isn't a usability issue as she was using stock rom with no problems before. I guess I'll switch her out to 1.4.2 when I see her next.

I don't think you can use the upgrade version of 1.42 - you will have to do the wipe version, or the problem will still be there. If she has many apps, etc. remember use titanium to back up her apps and their data, but no system data.

The idea for 'zombie infested Gingerbread/Desire' was because of the zombie image Google included into the Gingerbread build.

nice can u post up a screen shot wondering how small it looks lol
Ill have to do it when I get home. It isn't overly small and looks pretty sleek. Ill post a pic a little later when im done work. You should just install it and check it out. I can almost guarantee its not to small for the tab. It actually helps me type better. Its as wide as the whole screen just not as tall as the stock keyboards but yields no issue. I actually prefer the size.

So now we got the keyboard... how about porting the whole system now?
No seriously, what can we do with the system.img from the sdk?
I'm downloading the SDK now. I'll pick apart as much as I can. I want to see if that fancy new launcher will be an easy port. I'm going to try the keyboard out on my Tab and myTouch 4g now.

So, Ive tried 3 different ROM's. and on two of them used Riptides blue theme. Right now, Im using MikFroYo v4.61, with the Chogardjr-Blue-Theme-v4.6x-Odex-signed theme. At initial boot, the market starts out blue, but after awhile it switches back to stock green. Any ideas why?

It has something to do with the market's auto updater. If you go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=900584&highlight=cyan+dragon
and go to post 2, there's a method that shows you how to get your custom market back. I just kind of let it go, personally.

Delay in SRF ROM development. I am very sorry to give this message to everyone.
"Swiss Cheese Samsprint" - aka EE03 Gingerbread
Current things i know of being implemented in SRF 1.1.1/1.2.0
- Browser fixed
- Speed improvements
- Voltage control (new kernel)
- Aesthetic Changes (as impaler call's them)
- New Wallpaper as default. (click to see)
- misc tweaks and mod's around the forum (but srf style, Like the one's listed here)
- Journaling ON/OFF versions
- CWM 3.0.2.5 compatible
Question's
- Will the new kernel have CWM3.0.2.5? and if it will be in 1.1.1 or not until 1.2.0?
- Are we getting 1.1.1 first or a whole 1.2.0? =)
Yes.

I would love if my phone's browser didn't "freeze up" when I have a low battery! Hope that'll be fixed!
One thing I don't get is why even bother to release something with journaling off? It ducks up the system during certain all too common situations. are the milliseconds that you gain really worth it?

I agree. Disabling journaling was no speed improvement that was necessary; all it really did was risk your data if your phone ever froze.
Obviously you people don't care about your phone's life span. journaling on, will make your phone read and write about 1.4x more then normal. Flash memory isn't eternal living.
But anyway. the reason there isn't one, is because it had issue's. so it was removed. If you want journaling. make a nandroid of your SRF 1.1 then restore it. OR use the on/off mod.

All right..just checkin in over here. I usually just check the main srf thread daily but its getting pretty repetitive over there. Same user related questions about freezin, journaling, and data corruption.(not due to the rom itself) how many of the tweaks have you guys tried from the tweak thread?

This method of using Nandroid to restore journaling no longer works on the new CWM, and was hit or miss on the old one.

No problem. I think the only reason it worked before was because the previous versions of CWM were partially broken.

It's so much better!!! My only complaint is I wish it looked like the gingerbread keyboard. The GB keys are sexy.
How does it compare to FlexT9? Longtime Swype user, finally bought Flex a month ago after getting sick of the popup word choice window in Swype. Flex is nice but I miss the little shortcuts in Swype (like slide from , to space to insert ", ") etc.

I think the ones in older Sense devices just logs crashes in apps though, while the one in new Sense devices logs everything, giving the old one less important info, and leaving the new one far more vulnerable.
Isn't this where droidwall or the like comes into play? Removal is always best but blocking those unwanted apps from accessing data should be commonplace.
