Swype problem

Has anyone noticed that swype is not as accurate as it use to be ? The new version sucks . Anyone else have same issues ?

I agree. I wish I could go back to the old one. It was way more predictable.

My irritation started when the vibrate on keypress function stopped working.
Then, I realised the stupid Tips window kept opening up every alternate word
And finally, to top it off, its not accurate any more
Edit: Well I sent them an email about it, let's see what they have to say

Yup the beta one was far better. I loved the concept of swyping instead of tapping but the new swype is so bad I'm now using SwiftKey

Yep. The new SWYPE is definitely a lot worse than the previous betas.

For the record, I agree. It also seems to be less compatible with most fingers than the previous version...

i still have problems with skype due to its expiration on my phone, any idea how to make it work again?

Go to 4shared dot com and write swype and there is a file called swype x10 look for it and install it . Works like charm

thank you for the tip, works very good, but I only get English as a language, any idea how to install new languages?

Not sure. Go to swype website and register to get new beta then it will have m many languages

This doesn't work for me - installs fine but doesn't appear in input methods list. Install at your own risk as it has access to lots of personal data on the phone.
EDIT: Forgot I needed to enable it in settings. Hooray Swype is back. Shapewriter is just that much more painful in comparison

Our prediction algorithm has recently undergone some changes, not all of which have worked out write as we had planned. We're actually in the process right now of prepping a new beta release which will hopefully fix these issues, and then we'll begin the process of distributing to our preloaded customers where appropriate. I can't give any kind of ETA for these updates, as it's still a work in progress, but know that it is definitely being worked on.

SE is really straight forward about answering but hesitating to tell us the truth so you have to plan your life base on nonsense comes out of SE customer service department.

I installed it using root explorer. Obviously the keys are smaller than they should be but it looks really good. Auto correct is working great as well.

Ill have to do it when I get home. It isn't overly small and looks pretty sleek. Ill post a pic a little later when im done work. You should just install it and check it out. I can almost guarantee its not to small for the tab. It actually helps me type better. Its as wide as the whole screen just not as tall as the stock keyboards but yields no issue. I actually prefer the size.

I'm downloading the SDK now. I'll pick apart as much as I can. I want to see if that fancy new launcher will be an easy port. I'm going to try the keyboard out on my Tab and myTouch 4g now.

The launcher is on the market already. I tried it last night and it works fine. I still like LPP more though.

Capacitive Buttons - Overcome 1.4.4

I have a tab that we just installed 1.4.4 on and now the person using it says that the capacitive buttons don't respond well now... any ideas/suggestions?.

Who is we? And what person says they don't respond well?

Sorry, I bought some tablets for staff. One of the users of the latest upgraded Tab to 1.4.4 says that her tablet buttons don't respond very well after the update.
She is the only one on 1.4.4, the rest are on 1.4.2

Are there any long fingernail issues? And beliwve it or not, some people are button-challenged. I would definately observe her.
Edit: Adinis78 mentioned his search button didn't work correctly in 1.4.4 -- maybe this is an issue for some.

As rangercaptain said, some people use their nails to press them like they had to on old touch screens. Try downgrading to 1.4.2 and see if that helps.

No it isn't a usability issue as she was using stock rom with no problems before. I guess I'll switch her out to 1.4.2 when I see her next.

I don't think you can use the upgrade version of 1.42 - you will have to do the wipe version, or the problem will still be there. If she has many apps, etc. remember use titanium to back up her apps and their data, but no system data.

Thanks, I'll make sure to do that. That is what we did when switching her to Overcome.. Good ol' Titanium Backup and restore with just data and apps, not system data .

The idea for 'zombie infested Gingerbread/Desire' was because of the zombie image Google included into the Gingerbread build.
My new one is because I watched Pinocchio with my daughter and I realised how much I loved it as a kid Probably have a new one soon

Just another rom, just one with some serious eye candy. 2 things really turn me off of this rom. Its closed source nature (you never know what kind of **** is in there), and the fact it is chinese (which gives me serious doubts about the security of it).
Its slick looking tho.

I ran it on my old evo, wasn't impressed.
It removes the app draw and puts every icon on the main screen, you can move them around, but clutters things.
It's themes are a great concept and look great if you're into what's available.
It messaging app sucks cajones, that's my general opinion.

That alone would be enough for me to not use it, as I keep nothing on my home screens

I bet your shoes are made in China. Do you trust them? It's in English and has no spyware, or CIQ. The port for this phone however has several key features missing and no offense to the devs, it isn't quite ready for daily use. No builds have 4G. Epic's has unstable 3G, WiFi, GPS, and camera. The Devs are working hard though and trying to give us something to use.

I'm similar in that regard
screen 1: blank
screen 2: weather/clock widget
screen 3 apps i mostly use that have spilled over from my docks and i don't want to go into my drawer for or run as widgets

Miui is awesome. I got great battery life and the customization is ridiculous. I have a fascinate so it was buggy and incomplete but even without mms and camcorder I still use it as my daily rom.

I have 2.2 it has htclogger1.6

2.3.3 as released in the "rooted" kit available in another thread -does- have HTC Logger, I just manually uninstalled it via Titanium this morning.

I think the ones in older Sense devices just logs crashes in apps though, while the one in new Sense devices logs everything, giving the old one less important info, and leaving the new one far more vulnerable.

Isn't this where droidwall or the like comes into play? Removal is always best but blocking those unwanted apps from accessing data should be commonplace.

I removed it from my wife's stock 2.2 shift and it caused a force close loop which I had to pull the battery to fix. Once the phone rebooted everything was fine though and the logger was uninstalled.

Damn lol I never like sense but damn this just makes me not want to use it all. Lol
