[Q] Clockwork Mod Problem - Huawei Ideos X5 U8800

Hi guys my problem is I can not open the clockwork when I press the buttons Vol up and power together. when i try to open phone like that, when i try to reach recovery it stucks at the IDEOS screen and nothing more coming up. I tried 4.0.0.5 and 4.0.1.5 versions of clockwork. But same result. Can anyone has an idea about this ?

I have an idea. Your phone might be u8800pro, not u8800. There is no CWM for the pro version yet

How can i understand this is pro version or normal? I don't think i've got a pro version of this phone. I read somewhere in this forum pro versions have got 4gb memory but I've got 2 gb. Anyway that i can see if it is pro or not?

I tried the 3.0.2.8 version of the clockworkmod and it worked. But as i said 4.0.0.5 and 4.0.1.5 versions not working on me. is this 3.0.2.8 version will be enough for me? I mean can i load the custom roms from here with this version? Also anyone who knows tell me how can i use newer versions or versions that i tried is not working.

If 3.0.2.8 worked then it's ain't pro version. You can use it, if it was fully working, it isn't any worse than 4.x.x.x

The Pro doesn't have 4GB of internal sd, just 2gb, if you want to know which model you have check if it has built in radio. Pro have it U8800 doesn't.

internal nand memory capacity is 4gb in total ,but sd partition is 2gb

My phone hasn't got radio that means this is not pro version. But why these versions not working. that's what i am wondering

i too had problem with clockmode , after u have installed does holding a vol up or down continuesly takes u 2 pink screen ?
if not then tell what happens .

if i press vol up + vol down + power pink screen is coming. When i press vol up+power normaly clockwork must appear but it is stucking at the IDEOS screen and nothing happens. But when i just turn on the phone pressing only power button it is opening normally.

alright i had same problem . now here is what u need 2 do -
google clockworkmode on youtube for u8800 n u will find a video with simple steps , ur clockwork will definately work !!!
here is d link 4 u ( actually had bookmarked it )

I know how to install cwm. My problem is different i think you didn't read my messages. I am installing cwm right theese steps. But when i install it's not working. I try 3.0.2.8 version it is running. Then i found 4.0.1.5 on genokolar's site. But normal 4.0.1.5 didn t work. I try another 4.0.1.5 version at the description section "this recovery only used for second system" was written. that work too. but not properly. when i try installing CM7 rom. I am doing the right steps nothing but the right steps. but after selecting the rom's zip then reboot phone restarting itself ıdeos screen is coming but no action then restarts itself again and again i wait lots time for maybe something happens but noting show up. Then i try miui rom. i did the exact right steps. when steps over and restarting the phone it worked. I can not understand what's happening and hoping someone helps me with this. I tried all of em with 3.0.2.8 and 4.0.1.5 that i found.
And for the records when I try to backup with cwm. When i hit the backup cwm says "Can't mount /system" so i can not backing up my system too.
http://code.google.com/p/u8800-cm7/downloads/detail?name=recovery_4.0.1.5_en_sys2.img&can=2&q= that's the link that i installed, the others not working on my phone i mean the cwm screen is not coming up with others only with this and 3.0.2.8 version that i can see the cwm screen.

Yes i know what you forgot
Now u have magldr
But you need a ROM to flash which is loaded by magldr
Go to the nand android section and choose a rom you want to have . There are several ways to install a rom.. One is to flash clockworkmod (just search a little bit and you will find a how to )), with it u can flash a rom from your sd card
There is much to say, but u should read the stickie thread where you will get all information you have to know

2 possibles,, either bad download, download it again, or,, you select choose zip from sd card, and not install update.zip
You should try to install the zip manually?! there is an option to install a zip of you choice.. Browse for your zip and install it..

Hi,
Each ROM will probably have different CWM partitions to flash before you try loading the ROM.Make sure you flash correct one.
Then make a note of the ROM.CWM does not find the ROM for you.
In ad recovery, choose install ROM from zip, then choose ROM from zip,Then scroll up and down with volume button until you find you zip.
Also make sure you place zip on root of your card using a card reader.
This will avoid any corruption of data in the transfer process.

Just currious, check your sd card, since you have CWR windows do partition by CWR, use card reader to copy your rom then put on phone, ensure you have zip file extension not rar/7zip or other compression type.
I have a problem too.
For some reason I can install the Wp7 DAF ROM
but cannot install the ANdroid versions of DAF roms
also phone straight goes to Magldr
even pressing the volume down while starting wont take it to the bootloader

There are many possibilities on this case : Check your ROM and ensure matching with yur CWR Partition lay out, i.e some rom with 150 MB partition lay out, need 158 MB partition lay out
For your phone can not go into bootloader, its clueless for me. Wether the hardware failure or bootloader corrupts.
Please also check hold vol Up and Down + Power Button to reach DEFAULT FACTORY RESET MODE, also check the red button inside the phone : open battery cover there is reset small red button. Just push (with pen/pencil) and what happening

[Q] Clockwork recovery troubles

Hey guys,
I'm having some trouble with CWM, as follows:
correct HSPL installed
Magldr 1.13 is installed
I install the latest version of CWM, and access it via AD recovery
It boots, getting the GOGOGO message and I enter the CWM menu
The problem:
Inside CWM any option I pick via the call button results in remaining stuck in a screen with the CWM hat in the middle of the screen. At this point, I have no choice but remove the battery.
For a long time I have ignored this problem and used DAF roms, but since such a method is pretty much dead, I have no choice but try and sort this out.
Any ideea why I get stuck on the CWM hat icon screen when I pick any option ?
Thank you.
have you reflashed the latest ver. of cwm i mean flash it again. its on the main screen in rom manager first option.
At this moment the phone is wiped clean via Task29, I have no rom installed and I have reinstalled CWM, Magldr and even HSPL multiple times with no luck, I'm afraid.
The CWM version I have installed is something along the lines of 4.0.0.1.0, or something.
check the md5 on the cwm it might be a bad dl also check the md5 on the rom
check what ver. android the two roms are, cwm 5.0.0.2 is my latest to work with android 2.3.5
I can't seem to find 5.0.0
Can you point me to a download link, pls ?
http://www.clockworkmod.com/
thats all i got for now i have t o try a different browser
all i got was ver 3.1.0.0 the md5 is 48f615587bbe3e19e28d88a2aa0bcec4

cant get into recovery

i have a gen 1 blade. i bought it used and it has Jap Jelly.
i want to install the cm7 7.0.2 which i believe is the latest stable and there is a method i want to follow which apparently is an image that when i go into recovery it just installs, easy as that.
unfortunately i cant get into recovery. tried vol+ and power, vol+, menu and power and also vol- and power. none work and simply restart phone.
i have read that using rom manager which i have installed automatically installs a recovery meant to be for gen 2 and that is why it doesnt work.
would anyone be able to shead light on this please?
thanks guys, marc
Go to your battery options and turn off quick start. Try again and it should work.

cheers mate but i cant see that option anywhere
If you want to install CM7, don't bother with 7.0.2. Its really really old, and the new versions are much better and much more stable. You'd be much better to use the TPT from here and then flash the latest nightly using Clockwork. The TPT method will install a Gen 2 recovery as well, so you don't need to worry about doing that.
cheers mate.
first i uninstalled rom manager and reinstalled and then it allowed the older recovery managers to be selected. i selected and older one and i could then get into recovery.
coincidentally i had found that 7.1 method and i have just completed it, the phone is just installing my apps etc from the sync with google etc.
thanks again.

seems your phone not rooted yet, dude. try to root it first. I always use SuperUser it to perform this.
the easy way to get the latest cm7 running on your unrooted blade is to do this method i find it very noob friendly.
Root the ZTE Blade using super on click (simple google search will find the program you need) once the phone is rooted you can update your phone from GEN1 to GEN2 automatically and it will also install cm7 nightly 257 automatically
Links
Super One click: here
Gen1 to Gen2 TPT Upgrade: here (make sure you download CM Nightly 257 Version (Upgrades from Gen1 to Gen2 & installs latest CyanogenMod nightly build - all in one))
once the phone is rooted and the downloaded file is placed on the root of the sd card all you have to do is power off your phone and power on with menu & vol+ held
hope this helps you mate

Problems with loading Clockwork mod and roms

Hello xda members i want to install an android rom on my hd2, as after i got the screen fixed it lost the rom I had installed and yhen i could not install new ones.. So followed instructions below and got stuck on the second paragraph
Connect the device to the USB port
Put the device into factory flash mode by booting it while pressing "volume down"
Install HSPL using the "Install HSPL" function inside HD2ToolKit - MAGLDR: Android / WP7 supports 2.08 ONLY!
Put the device into factory flash mode by booting it while pressing "volume down"
Do "Task29" (aka Complete Wipe) using the "Wipe (Task29)" function inside HD2ToolKit
Put the device into factory flash mode by booting it while pressing "volume down"
Install Latest Radio Firmware using the "Install Custom NBH/NB RUU" function inside HD2ToolKit - HD2 Radios
Put the device into factory flash mode by booting it while pressing "volume down"
Install Latest MAGLDR using the "Install MAGLDR" function inside HD2ToolKit
Boot into MAGLDR recovery menu by pressing the "shutdown/hangup" button while booting up
Choose "USB Flasher"
Click to collapse
The above all appeared to work and go well
Flash the Latest CWR (Clockwork Recovery) with the appropriate partition sizes by using the "Repartition" button inside the HD2ToolKit: System: 200MB | Cache: 5MB
Boot into MAGLDR recovery menu by pressing the "shutdown/hangup" button while booting up
Insert MicroSD card with the ROM ZIP
Choose "AD Recovery"
Flash ROM ZIP
Reboot
Click to collapse
Okay the problem is CWR (i downloaded the 150mb version as thought that will work with the rom) It will not install properly and I can not load the CWR menu up. 8. 'AD recovery' states in red "No sources".
Another error message I got is when I first start my phone I get this "Nand Kernal open failed"
Please help me I need to get this fixed as the phone is a present for someone.
Did you use the repartition option in the toolkit or you downloaded a separate package?
Use the option in the tool, and make sure you select the sizes according to the ROM you want to install.
Of course the device would say nand kernel failure, there is nothing in the device. After installing the recovery you need to flash a ROM, obviously.

So i did a wipe 29 again, the radio is Radio-Leo-2.15.50.14 and i googled it to download,
just to make sure the repartition was done from the HD2 tool, all stages complete and repartitioned to rom specs 200mb and 5mb cache, so repartition from HD2 tool installs cwmod then?
8. AD Recovery - still stuck saying gogogo..

Radio-Leo-2.15.50.14 I dont know if your supposed to see the radio show up on one of the screens in magldr or hspl? but i've not seen anything that shows the radio loaded other than "success" after the initial installation.
It was installed through HD2 toolkit after extracting the two files to desktop.
Also I downloaded the radio from file sharing website after I googled it as the links on xda were no longer working.
thanks,
Well, I am sorry but I am no expert in MAGLDR. All I know is that the infamous Stuck @ GOx3 had been fixed in MAGLDR v1.13.
If you already have v1.13, I am at the limit of my knowledge, sorry.

Okay mate thanks for your help anyway it was nice of you to take the time to try to help me .
I hope someone else on these forums will help me, I guess i can still go back to the old windows 6.5. I read someone else had similar problem and ended up going back to 6.5. It's a shame because i was giving the phone as a present and wanted it in good working order with android or at least the new windows mobile system..
Maybe the old methods of installing android on the SD card without magldr would work, I would need to find the posts with guides for that as it was such a long time ago when I went through those instructions I really cant remember.
repartition again, if it not work, try this way

You know, you could hit the thanks button for Marvlesz
Anyway, I can't see where you're going wrong here. All your steps are (as far as I can see) perfectly fine. Just to double check, you have:
HSPL 2.08
Radio 2.15.50.14
MAGLDR 1.13
CWM (from the Toolkit)
right? If so, everything should theoretically work correctly. Try downloading an older CWM version such as the one from the guide in my sig and flashing that instead.
Thankyou tried that tin1203 and I found the 250mb and 400mb (old version) but couldn't download the 150mb version..Links dead
Still stuck on 8.AD recovery.
However instead of being stuck on gogogo, AD recovery simply stated "No Boot sources"
Anything else I can try? Or know a guide to at least get the phone back to working in some form? Cheers

Yep HSPL 2.08 installed
Now how would i check the Radio? Install it again and receive confirmation once installed? Or is there another way to check?
MAGLDR 1.13 is installed
CWM from the toolkit will not load up - when installing it everything appears to work and install fine ( no errors etc) However 8. Ad recovery will not load up.
Anything else i can do to at least get the phone operational.
To check the radio, turn your phone off then on again. While it's booting up (on the first splashscreen) three lines of text will appear. The top one is something like R: 2.15.50.14 (or whatever radio you have, obviously) so try checking that line and making sure that it's a .50 radio. If it is, then everything worked fine when you flashed the radio. Also try the CWM version from the guide in my sig, it's supposed to be one of the most stable versions I think.
Hey i think i know what your problem is and since it's a present i hope that will work...there are two types of recoveries...the ones flashed on nand that can be booted from 8.ad recovery...and the ones flashed on the sd that can be booted from the 3rd option of mgldr..i think is called 3.ad sd..i really hope this will help!

Thanks for the help guys, after my previous post I decided to try installing windows 7 and all went well in terms of flashing the rom however although it appears to have loaded I have no touch screen, its completely not working
This could be due to windows 7 software or when it got fixed as I not used the touch screen since..
Oyeah thanks for helping, just need to get someone to fix the touch screen i guess.
It would be better for you if you install cwr from toolkit, just select the partition size(magldr repartition) for eg. 150 like you want and you'll get cwr v5.0.2.6.. Those recoveries that you're downloading from guide suck, didn't work for me too(ok, they worked but I couldn't flash anything even if I downloaded the 400 one).. Recommended.
EDIT: Sorry, haven't seen the second page of the thread where you already mentioned that cwr from toolkit won't boot.

Problems installing new ROM

Dear All,
After losing my Samsung Galaxy Note in Amsterdam during a heavy weekend I am back on my girlfriend's old ZTE Blade and have been trying to update it a little.
I downloaded the KonstaKang ROM and GApps to the ext. Sd card and booted into clockwork mod recovery (I rooted and flashed a custom rom for her when I gave it to her originally).
I did the full wipe just to make it all as clean as poss and went to install the new rom but ran into some problems.
Firstly the sd card could not be accessed. It was if it was not mounted. I tried various things including mounting it in mounts and storage, restarting recovery, reformatting the sd in another android and the pc etc. Eventually (it felt random) it let me choose zip from sd.
Thats when the rom was selected but it then told me that the rom was (bad) and would not install. Again I redownloaded it and another rom and also a new version of cwm. Still nothing would work it was all (bad).
Out of frustration I kept trying and eventually it changed its mind and let me install the rom. After installation I attempted to reboot system but it just hanged at the boot logo and would go no further.
I have tried all the above multiple times and all combos of things I can think of to get it to work but no luck. The phone randomly seems to decide if the .zips are (bad) but at least it allows me to access them now. Ive also tried installing the other rom and new cwm but nothing will work. Boot logo and nothing more.
Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong? Whats the best way to get a rom on this old blade?!
Many thanks x

Well, first, you have an S3. Why use the Blade?
Second, have you looked into TPT + ROM? Also, what Gen blade is it? Once you can get something stable like cm7 booting, we can progress further

Well I believe it is a gen2 blade. I vaguely remember having to update it from gen1 but I cant be 100% sure. It was a long time ago!
I am using my girlfriends s3 to get on these forums so unfortunately I cant keep it!
I havent looked at tpt + rom and am unsure what that is at the moment . I shall have a read.
I must also say that I managed to install a new version of cwm but still no luck with any roms.
I am loading new roms on the ext sd from this s3 or through my pc I was wondering if the files were getting corrupted somehow. My pc doesnt see the phone so I have to use a card reader.
So yes roms are still saying 'cant open... (bad)' error when trying to install...
Thanks for your reply
