I personally like Darky 9.4 and Simply Galaxy 2.8 for stability and battery.... both 2.2.1 ROMs available in the bible.

9.4? I don't think we ever had 9.4 we have 9.3 and 9.5 lol

Whichever Team Toxic ported, it was awesome

miui ss6 + bali 2.2.1 is awesome

Project-V on Bali-X
I'd use ZenDroid but I keep getting force closes for whatever reason. Project-V is just perfect for me.

Toxic 8 + immortality kernel

Try Simply Stock JVS 2.3.5. Works without any FC and its raw speed.

GPS too? How is battery life?

Give him bionix V and Bali.

MIUI SS-5 is fantastic! Have to turn on data every reboot but I am loving this ROM and I have been through years of ROMs with various Androids.

I tried out Bionix 1.3.1 and Toxic Crazy 8. As well as some random miui's and other offshoots of cyanogen, but I need GPS. The first rom I ever flashed was Project V, after all the testing, I've come back to Project V, super stable and just plain reliable. Even other froyo roms didn't allow me to have as stable GPS as Project V did. Anyways I'm using the immortality v2 kernel alongside, and runs perfect for me.

Stock KB5 + Dream Theme + Bali-X + UV -> Fast, Stable and Long Lasting Battery Life

Fastest 2.3 rom?

Which is the fastest 2.3 rom? I use setcpu to overclock on every rom. Tell me your opinion
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA Premium App
Its all down to personal choice really
So far I like Elellinux's Roms and Feeyo's they both are the best so far for me....
I tried the elelinux rom but i had so much freezes especially when someone calls me. I used overclock again. Can you pm me some 2.3 roms i could flash? thanks

www.hrdb.tk - take a look at the roms on my homepage. the latest releases are the best. at the moment feeyo (cronos) and elelinux are working on their roms. so you should choose one of them.
EliLinux had some issues the last release, but the latest release is very stable for me, and is pretty fast.
I current have Elelinux's v2.1 build of CM 7.1 / Android 2.3.4 on my phone, and it is running quite well. I have not tried 2.3 yet. Feeyo's Cronos Ginger 2.2.0 is getting some very positive feedback. I had CG 2.1.0 for a while, but the default kernel just did not play well on my phone, so I had gone back to CG 1.9.5 for a bit.
I tried Elelinux's v2.2 and Cronos 2.2, while Ele's seems to be a little smoother, the battery life isn't good at all. On the other hand, Cronos 2.2's battery life is great, but I missed all the CM7 options...
stantang, i have the same problem as you described ;/ used ele's rom but it sometimes freezes when incall comes... I've flashed almost everything from iPasta's site but don't have my favorite.
Best way for me is to wait for CM7 stable for hero (but how long should we?).
Back to thread, fastest for me was Ele's, but i had problems with GPS so i don't use it any longer.
Hello.
Elelinux's one is great !
Cheers.

Feeyo's Cronos Ginger 2.2.0 working like a charm for me.
I will try out mentioned roms when i have time currently my Folio 100 tablet's Honeycomb port keeps me busy thanks for the answers!

Elelinux FTW
I've tried Cronos, Herolatte (my current daily rom because its pretty) and Elelinux. I would definately have to say that elelinux is the fastest and most stable ROM. Cronos is pretty damn good as well (I love the font on it) and Herolatte has sense albeit it's a little slow at the moment. It all comes down to personal choice but with the number of flashable extras, sheer speed and stability of it, I have constantly found myself coming back to Elelinux.
..And they said Hero would never get to taste the Gingerbread...
EleLinux alll the wayyy baby

Can't go wrong with Virusrom, i'm blown away by GingerSense. Was running Infected since rc2.
Don't forget to bring a towel!
either Koni Elite III or Virus Airborne. Both are fast, smooth, and look great!
Been using deck 1.0 with a tiamat 3.3.8 and its been stable with easily a good 16 hours of batter with moderate use and sprint lovers or fresh if its a stable froyo rom
SalvageMod 1.2.1 with tiamat 3.3.7 sbc and ADW

Virus Airborne with netarchy 4.34 no sbc no havs. Fast, senseless, battery solid and gets me thru the day with my usage.

Fresh 3.5.1, and one of the netarchy kernels, aggressive undervolting, and a few other things I can't remember. Best battery life I've ever seen, and still gives me Sense
MIUI - best UI, decent battery life and best usability.
+1 for MIUI. With the Tiamat kernel, superb battery life. I no longer bother charging my phone when I'm at work. Sometimes I even forget to charge it overnight. Doesn't matter...I'm never in danger of running out of juice. Plus the slickness of the UI is unparalleled. Beautiful.
VirusROM GengerSense B4. Its fast, battery life is good. Looks great, Virus is the man.
Thankxx all for the help

Cyanogen Mod 7. I've used Cyanogen mod on my phone, tested it on a Droid as well, and Cmod 6 that were ported to the Spica and the Moment, the best part of Cyanogen mod aside from the support is the Cmod settings.

Any good roms?

Been awhile since i got a new rom, wanted some input on some good roms out there. Any opinions would be fine, aosp and sense, and also battery life? I dont want my phone dying quickly
Been really happy with MikG 2.2. It's stable, fast, and feature rich.
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
If you don't have 4g or just don't care, MIUI is a nice change. Lots of features. Very easy theming
Evo HW 003
MIUI 1.7.1
As in all of these threads, I refer you to VaelPak. See the link in my signature.
Another good ROM is Deck's AOSP project.
With any ROM, you'll also want to look into kernels, undervolting, etc. to get the most out of your battery.
MikG and synergy are both great
Sent while standing in line at chipotle
I've had a lot of fun with Calkulin's EViO 2 series and now the release of EViO 3 series
CM7.1 with Tiamat 3.3.7 SBC, RedGinger theme, customized LauncherPro, and the ViperMOD undervolting script is my current setup, and it is a ton of fun. Look around the Themes & Apps section and plan a nice fun setup. Battery life for me with this setup is superb; 20 hours of moderate use and I'm at 38% on the stock battery.
tl;dr: Cyanogenmod 7.1 + Tiamat 3.3.7 + theme/fun setup + ViperMOD = fun, aesthetical glory, and a great battery life.

Synergy ROM
I really like this rom. I've just switched from cm7, so I haven't mastered it yet or anything... I can't get my boot animation to change through ....data/local/bootanimation.zip .... It still plays the synergy mod animation, anyone know how to fix that?
Thanks in advance
oh yeah :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1144447
i recommend myn's warm 2.2 RLS5(used this ROM for 5 months).
I recently flashed Synergy RC1 as my new daily.
both are very stable with minimal bugs and are very user-friendly.
myn's 2.2 or Synergy.
Sorry, just curious. Is there a stable sense 3.0 rom available?
MikG 2.2 for Sense & CM7.0.3.1 for ASOP
Synergy RC1 or MikG 2.2 for sense and Decks 1.2.1 or Salvagemod 1.3 for aosp.

Most rock stable combination?

After getting a Galaxy Note, I'm giving this phone to my dad and I want to have the most stable combination there is that is without any sort of lag. Can anyone provide any recommendations?
works for me
Ramads stock deodext rom with semaphore kernel no lag battery 48h....
infact odex unrooted would be best, maybe even last froyo js8 i think it was

Correct, after many months of testing, the best most stable, no lags, no low memory even after open close apps and 3D games, no bugs, and with a fully working wifi, ad-hoc and call recording integrated...
Its Darky 9.5 extreme edition based on the froyo js8.
Combination i find perfect is darky 9.5 with speedmod k13e kernel with ext4 fastest enabled in kernel, with scripts enable in kernel, and with fugu tweaks 2.3.5.zip.
Modem i use is zsjpg but bujp5 is also very good.
As i said this combination is simply amazing.
Using any gingerbread rom i would start lagging, and had 50 mg of ram after a few games and apps opened...but with the combination above no need to kill apps, the phone just runs anything with no problems at all, no low memory...it just works.
Besides...latest GB roms gave me wifi disconects, dont have fully working ad-hoc..and there is no call recording among other bugs and lags, low memory etc.
oSerX jvt rom with semaphore kernel..Its the best custom rom ..Stable as stock with solid batterylife..Its fast, smooth n simple...
I'm on the other side of the fence as others here. I'd recommend to stay stock with either Froyo or if maybe GBs JVR version. Since that seems pretty zippy, especially with browsing IMO.
The other plus with stock is the battery life is usually better. Maybe your dad might not use the phone as much as you, but it's still nice to have especially if he doesn't charge his phone as much...

Battery life is a must, I'll give JS8 a shot and then try JVT if JS8 doesn't work out. What about GPS? Is there any decent fix out there for it?
Well GPS and battery life don't go together, GPS is a battery killer. If you have to use GPS then have a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239713
I use stock JVT + Semaphore kernel, and I'm very happy with it.

For you dad; I'd say go back to JS8 with speedmod. Or throw CM7 on there - I never have any stability problems with CM7.
JS8 or JSD (froyo roms).
In case he need gingerbread for some reason then I'd chose oSerX rom (odexed JVT rom).
most stable = latest froyo + no rooting + no custom kernels + no moding/theming and so on
Simplicity 1.5.1
The most stable gingerbread I've run.
No fc's and no noticeable lags. No reboots. I will not change till 4.0.

Haha. Yeah. 56000 quadrant score.
Seriously though I've had not one issue with it. My daily has been running for about 3 weeks now untouched. All working well.
Only time I had an issue was when reverting back old market. Fc market issues. Put back new market and all good.

Yes, but stil fast and stable
come on guys....i m trying to find the fastest - stable best custom rom!
MIUI
For me the smoothest rom seems to be MIUI (Galnet or Miuiandroid). With a custom kernel (Fugumod with Voodoo Color) i succeded to obtain also a good battery life. In the morning is 100% charged, in the evening 20% battery remaining (100+ apps installed). I've tried in the past a lot of roms but for a month i stayed on MIUI.
Smoothest and fastest roms are the ones with the best ram management and the most free ram. Hence, froyo 2.2.1 roms were less laggy than gingerbread roms.
However, now that we have bigmem kernels, gingerbread roms can become relatively free of microlags.
Hence, I would recommend the Gaming rom as it was made to minimise backgroud ram consumption.
the best rom is darky for sure..
especialy the 10.2 version. just rocks
or criskelo v62 awsome!
Jetpack Mod
I have tried most roms, F1 innovation, Darkys, SURFACE, etc. Jetpack mod is by far the most stable and fast rom I have ever used, the battery life is incredible too. I would recomend the JW1 version, as I dont like JVU very much
I've been using an Israeli ROM called PilotX 4.2 (2.2.1).
Yesterday I've installed F1 inovation.
With semaphore 2.4.0 and it's pretty AWESOME.
Sent from my SGS... Me LIKE it.
jetpack 8.2 jw1 f1 innovation are on the top now?
