Where to Recover on this model, because the U8800 does not Recover working? Help!!!

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229326

This does not work on the U8800 Pro to do this on a simple U8800.

Poor Lithuanian's got no support on their PRO devices REMEMBER Dyvas - because of different CPU and so on there is NO Rom available for your devices. So do not flash cause you may brick your phone.

u8800 i almost unbrickable if you save a backup of original "purple" mode files

What part did you not understand from u8800 PRO?

Have you tried copying the stock u8800pro kernel to genokular's recovery image using abootimg, that might work.

I worked a little bit with NForce25 to try and get it to boot but had no luck.
I might get in touch with him again and see if we can get it going. The devices are similar enough that the stock pro kernel actually worked on my phone, and booted fully into android, just the few things that are obviously different didn't work (wifi/bt and sound)

[ROM][TEST] Cyanogenmod 6.1.1 [Deodex-Sign-Zipalign-A2SD]

Howdy.
I think I may have a Cyanogenmod 6.1 Ver ready, but the updater-script needs some updating (I think).
Based on Neopeeks rom, made with the ROM kitchen.

Don't have a U8800 myself, need someone to test it.
If some more experienced dev could take a look at it i'd appreciate that.
However it should be ready for flashing.
(I don't have a U8800 myself, so I can't test it.)
Thanks for your work ,thought I can't download due to my network

Yes, using bravo as base, but it shouldn't matter, kernel is from U8800 along with drivers.
it seems that the rom is not match with the u8800.

could u share more of ur experience with this rom?
What exactly have you changed with this rom? Why did you choose the Desire rom? First up you need a new /system/build.prop then you need to edit the /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script.orig file so it flashes stuff to the right locations. Then you need to change the ro.product.device so it matches the build.prop file. Then to top it off the bravo uses the MTD partitioning scheme but the u8800 uses the EMMC partitioning scheme. So to put it simply, the rom will not work without many changes.
Yeah it also seems to have modules built for 2.6.35.9 (including a bcm4329 driver whereas this phone uses a Qualcomm RF chip, I believe WCN1312).
atleast some work is going On
Updated the ROM, should work now- Can anyone test?
Doesnt work...
anyone checked? i ve recovery problem i cant apply this rom right now
The update script needs work

[TRICK] restore after testing CM7 ( switching ROMs )

Hey guys I noticed people having problems restoring a back-up after testing CM 7
So here it is; switching ROMs with NO data loss
The deal is CM7 has is own kernel and there fore his own recovery.
Back ups made in another kernel ( and this means other CWM ) can not get restored with CM7 kernel.
And of course the other way around.
what you can do to easy test CM 7 and get back
- make nandroid backup with your own CWM, probarbly Doom kernel
- flash and test CM 7
- take the ''boot.img'' from the download of your kernel you had before testing CM7
- place it in your fastboot folder
- connect phone in fastboot
- in fastboot issue the command ''fastboot boot boot.img''
- the phone wil reboot, now dont let it boot but enter recovery
- you are now in the same recovery where you made your back up, so just restore it.
all done
---------- Post added at 05:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:12 PM ----------
you can also do this the other way around :
[ UNTESTED ]
- make nandroid backup with CWM in CM7 kernel
- restore stock as stated above
- take the ''boot.img'' from the download CM7
- place it in your fastboot folder
- connect phone in fastboot
- in fastboot issue the command ''fastboot boot boot.img''
- the phone wil reboot, now dont let it boot, but enter recovery
- you are now in the CM7 recovery so you can restore CM7 back up and go back to testing
hi can u tell me exactly wht are the issues restoring backups when using latest CWM 4.0.1.5?
thatt is not the back up used in CM7 and as far as I know you cant take a back up made with CWM 4.0.1.5 and restore it with CWM included in CM7 right ?
or is it already possible at the moment ( been away for a while )

I dont think that that is going to work but it is worth a shot.
The advantage is : when it is done you can switch roms without the need of a PC ( and a bit faster and easier )

So im not sure it will ever be possibe without fastboot

yes but if doomlord and CM7 use the same recovery than we wont have to change the boot.img right?
because you can restore your system from CM7 to stock without flashing boot.img
you just boot it and than restore after that the phone will reboot in boot.img that was already on the phone
not the one you booted this one time to get in CWM
As far as I no cm7 kernel will not work on stock rom and doomkernel will not work wit cm7 rom
So even if we get same cwm on both neither will boot others rom and you will still have to use fastboot to change kernels because kernels are not compatible with both
This is how I understand it to be ,im no expert tho
Can someone confirm this

yes u are partly correct...
CM7 kernel should also work on stock THOUGH some functions may/may not work...
my kernel MIGHT NOT work on CM7 as it requires a diff ramdisk... it will boot but some CM7 features/functions might be broken...

Is it a case that we will never flash kernels without fastboot or is it something that can be solved in later dev

[Recovery][U8800Pro] Unofficial CWM Recovery v5.0.2.3

I take no responsibility for any harm that comes to your phone as a result of applying this mod.
It took a while to get this working. But with lots of help from stockwell, I've managed to do this. So here it is, a working recovery for U8800Pro. Install process is no different from U8800: you get into purple screen, replace original recovery.img with this new one and that's all.
What's not working:
USB MS toggle
What's working:
Everything else (as far as I've tested)
P.S. to devs: init scripts are still a bit of a mess, ueventd is not being used, any help is welcome!
P.P.S Also credits to Tommixoft, for his support, some files I needed and some advices!
P.P.P.S original thread containing install instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1288223 (don't forget to press "thanks" button on the original post by stockwell )
Jee.. sveikinu, kad pagaliau turi tai prie ko taip dirbai!
Well this is first step for Pro version users to the custom roms/kernels and all non pro privileges
Thans, great job.

Almost works with .35 MIUI too. Phone boots & runs ok but automatic screen rotation has to be set off (it mixes horizontal & vertical "layouts" --> the screen is always 90 degrees off). Can't say if it fixes Atmel problems cause I have a Synaptics screen.

Nope, sorry, I don't do the kernel stuff. I guess someone could come up with a workaround though.
lets try
is franco can do something ins this kernel will be perfect!
Kernel by itself is no good for development. You need sources. Best idea I have had was to pull the relevant commits and fixes from DZO's 3.08 ICS kernel and Buckingtons ICS .35 kernel and put them into the proper .35 source, but it takes more time than I have to do. Plus, I am not sure we really have any need for a gingerbread kernel now, ICS is where it is at dev wise sad though that is. We have skipped a kernel iteration due to Huawei mucking up the sources and official gingerbread so much.
https://github.com/dzo/kernel_huawei
https://github.com/franciscofranco/kernel_huawei
https://github.com/TomGiordano/kernel_huawei/tree/2.6.35-ics
This one might be a good base:
https://github.com/TomGiordano/kernel_huawei
It is just about pulling the best bits from the kernel trees and testing, testing testing. FJSferreria? had a guide to compiling the 3.08 kernel source from DZO which should work fine for the .35 kernel too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577876
Where this kernel could work is in extracting the relevant defconfig from it to build a working .35 kernel from. instead of 'make u8800_defconfig', we would pull the config from the phone, back it up, copy it into the build directory and rename it to '.config' and just run the 'make' command.
Can anyone pull /proc/config.gz and upload it for me?
Cheers

I tried all kinds of guides. I got a folder with all the stuff I tried to root B528 with, it includes: DooMLoRD_v4, rooted boot image, some Chinese rooting tools, and about 4 different set of drivers. Th problem I have is the drivers won't install, I get an error: "Driver not intended for this platform." If I could get the drivers working, then I could root.

[ROM] B528 based stock rom

I know everyone is all about Jellybean and ICS right now, but I was just messing around now that I am on official gingerbread and put this together. Thought I would share just in case it was useful to someone else looking for a stock experience.
It uses the kernel forumber found from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1653699
It uses the system folder from official b528 and I put together the updater script based on TMC 7.2.
The rom is rooted with busybox installed. Other than that it is stock as a stock rom. And yes, it still looks like a tarts handbag just the way Huawei made it.
Get it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?9s6f83o6sr3ss2w
Enables HDR camera and reject call by text.
http://www.mediafire.com/?v33d7330c0ensd9
I have only installed this on my phone with it's Atmel touch screen and as far as I can see everything works and is smooth. I have no kernel source so won't be doing anything with the kernel beyond what is is right now! I installed with cwm 5.5.0.4 from Blefish.
As always, I am not responsible for any bricks, fires or nuclear wars that come about from installing this rom.
Please, please backup with CWM before flashing this.
