Almost works with .35 MIUI too. Phone boots & runs ok but automatic screen rotation has to be set off (it mixes horizontal & vertical "layouts" --> the screen is always 90 degrees off). Can't say if it fixes Atmel problems cause I have a Synaptics screen.

Nope, sorry, I don't do the kernel stuff. I guess someone could come up with a workaround though.

lets try

is franco can do something ins this kernel will be perfect!

Kernel by itself is no good for development. You need sources. Best idea I have had was to pull the relevant commits and fixes from DZO's 3.08 ICS kernel and Buckingtons ICS .35 kernel and put them into the proper .35 source, but it takes more time than I have to do. Plus, I am not sure we really have any need for a gingerbread kernel now, ICS is where it is at dev wise sad though that is. We have skipped a kernel iteration due to Huawei mucking up the sources and official gingerbread so much.
https://github.com/dzo/kernel_huawei
https://github.com/franciscofranco/kernel_huawei
https://github.com/TomGiordano/kernel_huawei/tree/2.6.35-ics
This one might be a good base:
https://github.com/TomGiordano/kernel_huawei
It is just about pulling the best bits from the kernel trees and testing, testing testing. FJSferreria? had a guide to compiling the 3.08 kernel source from DZO which should work fine for the .35 kernel too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577876
Where this kernel could work is in extracting the relevant defconfig from it to build a working .35 kernel from. instead of 'make u8800_defconfig', we would pull the config from the phone, back it up, copy it into the build directory and rename it to '.config' and just run the 'make' command.

Can anyone pull /proc/config.gz and upload it for me?
Cheers

Works perfectly with B526

I'm currently on 2.2, because B526 had reboots related to wifi being on and the screen turning off. I'm looking to go back to 2.3.5, but I need a 100% stable system. I was hoping this kernal might have fixed the wifi/reboot problem. I want to try B528, but I can't root it because the drivers required won't install on Win 7 64bit.

I tried all kinds of guides. I got a folder with all the stuff I tried to root B528 with, it includes: DooMLoRD_v4, rooted boot image, some Chinese rooting tools, and about 4 different set of drivers. Th problem I have is the drivers won't install, I get an error: "Driver not intended for this platform." If I could get the drivers working, then I could root.

If some more experienced dev could take a look at it i'd appreciate that.
However it should be ready for flashing.

Yes, using bravo as base, but it shouldn't matter, kernel is from U8800 along with drivers.
it seems that the rom is not match with the u8800.

could u share more of ur experience with this rom?
What exactly have you changed with this rom? Why did you choose the Desire rom? First up you need a new /system/build.prop then you need to edit the /META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script.orig file so it flashes stuff to the right locations. Then you need to change the ro.product.device so it matches the build.prop file. Then to top it off the bravo uses the MTD partitioning scheme but the u8800 uses the EMMC partitioning scheme. So to put it simply, the rom will not work without many changes.
Yeah it also seems to have modules built for 2.6.35.9 (including a bcm4329 driver whereas this phone uses a Qualcomm RF chip, I believe WCN1312).
atleast some work is going On
Updated the ROM, should work now- Can anyone test?
Doesnt work...

[AnyKernel][MOD] Tbolt Kernel Updater

Ihtfp69 tip toes in and closes the door
I realized after releasing a ROM that no one was using Koush's AnyKernel method for flashing kernels. This poses a problem for ROMs with custom ramdisks. Someone mentioned the AnyKernel method did not work on this phone. So I did some investigating. With a few changes to the script, I have it working perfectly.
Credits here, of course, go to Koush. I just modified his script. The kernel zip attached here contains the kernel from the latest leak. Because this uses the AnyKernel method, you can flash this on ANY GB Sense ROM and it will work and not break WiFi.
EDIT: I guess Ziggy did a version as well a few months ago. Here is a link to his: Ziggy's AnyKernel MOD

oh, yeah, forgot to mention that I copied the 2 files (bcm4329* and sequans*) from the target ROM into /system/lib/modules After I had flashed. Should I have copied it to the .zip first and then flashed it? does it sit anywhere other than /system/lib/modules?
The reason i didnt do it is because I assumed the existing files should work.

The bcm spits out at the end of compiling the kernel and it is specific to the kernel. Pull the zimage and the modules from the ROM, put them in the correct folders in the zip ... Wipe Cache and Dalvik for kicks and flash. Should be fine.

Is there a way we can fix atmel touchscreen drivers for 2.3.5 official?

As the title says, thats the only thing holding me back and not upgrade to 2.3.5 official. So can any dev fix this or use froyo drivers for atmel? Cause i dont think huawei is going to fix this.
I'm not a kernel dev, so I can't help. The fix would be to extract touchscreen driver from 2.6.32 kernel and put it in 2.6.35 kernel.

There's a firmware update released at 2011-12-28 for U8800+ Synaptics touchscreen, the offcial staff/moderator said there're no side effect to apply this update on U8800, official thread: http://bbs.huaweidevice.com/cn/forum/index.php?app=forum&mod=Detail&act=index&id=34559 (chinese language, need register to download)
目的:修正U8800+ 触摸屏卡顿问题
适用范围:仅适用U8800+
升级前请仔细阅读《U8800+触摸屏固件升级指导》
升级方法:
1.1 准备一张SD卡,剩余空间至少50M,同时确保手机电池电量剩余50%以上;
1.2 在SD卡根目录下建立一个文件夹,命名为update;
1.3 将synaptics.img复制到update目录下;
1.4 手机关机,将SD卡插入手机SD卡槽;
如果升级过程中 出现 E:update failed" 说明您的手机不需要升级该 firmware,选择“reboot system now” 按电源键重新启动手机即可;

brief translation:
fixed: 'laggy' issue of U8800+ touchscreen
applied: to U8800+ only
steps:
1. prepared a SD card with at least 50M remaining spaces, make sure battery capacity have 50%+
2. make an "update" directory under the root of SD card
3. copy synaptics.img to that "update" directory
4. power off, and put SD card to phone
5. hold Vol+ and power button to boot into recovery mode, choose "touchscreen firmware update"
6. after update done, reboot
if you got "E:update failed" error message, it means your phone need not update, just choose “reboot system now”
Can you apply this update to both .32 & .35 kernels?
Sorry, I can't confirm it, no official document about this, most people use Android 2.3 to update this, but I saw few people apply on Android 2.2. ( see #58 reply of this feedback thread: http://bbs.huaweidevice.com/cn/forum/index.php?app=forum&mod=detail&act=index&id=34637&p=3 ). My phone does not have 'laggy' issue, I didn't apply this update, I just reply blueberetdb5's question for his Synaptics touchscreen.

initrd.gz problems

I am at a loss here. I am running CLK 1.5 PA 1.1a with tytung r3, however, the device gets icon flash similar to icecreamtosti, where the icons do not respond without a reboot.
I wanted to flash Dorimanx v6.9 or v7.2 HWA, and understand I need to place the ROMs initrd.gz file in the initrd-custom folder. I have tried this on Snow Leopard & XP to no avail using a variety of different compression programs including 7-zip. I unzip the kernel and the ROM, put the PA 1.1a initrd.gz in the correct folder and rezip it. Each time though, even after re-downloading the kernel and ROM, I get an error within CWM, which reads that the installation has been aborted. Why is this? Do I need to re-compile the kernel in Android Kitchen? (I do not know how to do this by the way) or what else am I doing incorrectly? I have trawled the XDA HD2 forum, but had no luck. Suggestions?

You don't unzip the contents. By doing so you break the signing. What you wanna do is open your ROM zip using 7 zip then browse to the initrd.gz file copy to your desktop, close everything. Now open the kernel zip file browse to the initrd-custom folder open it. Now double click and drag the initrd.gz file from your desktop to the 7-zip window which has the kernel zip opened to the initrd-custom folder.

Have you tried installing the kernel without adding the initrd.gz? I remember getting that error when the download was inturupted or something. So if you still get that error without editing the zip, then it most likely is the zip file and you need to redownload. Because if you did exactly as i said then it should be working. Im a long time user of his kernel's on almost every ROM out there and never once ran into any troubles. But we will surely figure this out

I flashed it with success, but it doesn't feel as snappy as tytung r3, it takes a few seconds to unlock and load programs, even clocked at 1612mhz and experimenting with ZRAM on and off. Thank you though, I will probably stick with tytung's for the moment though, did you use 7-zip to transfer the initrd.gz file?

Hmm i wonder if its cause i took the initrd.gz from an older version of Paranoidandroid. I have version .6 on my computer thats why i used it. I'll redownload the latest and try with that. I might even flash it myself and test it out. Maybe the lib files need to be transfered as well. Dorimanx has by far been the best kernel for myself, but i dont really care for ICS yet but when i was testing the waters i used DM kernel and i loved it. Snappy responsive and pretty awesome. It just lacks a boat load of features i rely on in CM7. CM9 claimed they will re add the features once they iron kinks out so once they release a better build i will most likely convert

Very curious by this statement, and admittedly, my own android experience is limited... I've used ACA SD android for a number of months, and have switched over to ICS. Currently with ICT & DM's 6.9 kernel, but love the UI in hybrid mode of PA... and so, am really curious what you meant when you alluded to 'missing features' that were in CM7, but not CM9. What was lost? What am I missing? (sincere question) Thanks, -Rob

Well, there are two that i pretty much LOVE and cannot live without xD
Those are,
1. Disable full screen (status bar remains visible no matter the app, has a "hide" button if you wish to use full screen in a game or app, then you can unhide by pressing home key(my choice))
2. Really big one, lockscreen gestures. I love being able to draw a 'C' on my lockscreen and open the phone whitout having a custom app slot being taken up. Plus, gestures allow for an app to run while still displaying the lockscreen.
THose are the only two big ones i will miss, there are a few more small ones but i dont remember without flashing CM9 and checking And its been awhile since ive tested the waters, so i might download the latest AOKP and CM9 to see where they are at. But they both are good and pretty cool. CM7 is just perfect for me. No issues what so ever.

Hmm i wonder if its cause i took the initrd.gz from an older version of Paranoidandroid. I have version .6 on my computer thats why i used it. I'll redownload the latest and try with that. I might even flash it myself and test it out. Maybe the lib files need to be transferred as well.

It would be brilliant if you could test out the kernel with the initrd.gz from 1.1a PA, that might explain why it felt slow when I tested the original.

[Kernel 3.0.xx][ROM]CM 10.1[4.2.2]for GT-P1000[GSM/N/L/C]

Some good news for the good old G-Tab! Cdesai, koxudaxi, humberos have finished debugging the 3. kernel for now. I've made one new build yet (it was posted from OsitKP, because i've not enough posts for yet). This build is here. Help our great developers to enhance the kernel and test it.
Some details to the build: build number: 4.2.2 JDQ39E, kernel: 3.0.70.
All Thanks to alroger for his tutorials, to cdesai, humberos , angel666, koxudaxi, pawitp, jt1134, sbradymobile etc.
Sorry for my bad english.
First results on testing the kernel:
1. Charge works only when Tab is off
2. Some Advanced settings don't work
3. No USB connection to PC
4. Wi-Fi works
5. BT works partially, just like with 2.x kernel
For those who wants to try the new kernel for GT-P1000 I've attached two CWM zips with 3.x and 2.x (for rollback) kernels

6. Sound is ok, also with headphones, bt headphones not tested.
7. Voodoo works not?
8. Monitor colors are different than before
9. Power consumption seems better then before:good:
10. Some users report that vibration works not (with me also)
Are you saying that tab doesn't charge when on?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using xda app-developers app

It seems like the tab consumed to much power if the tab is on... I'm not sure, but i think galaxy s has or had similar problem... Probably the new kernel from alroger ( 3.0.74) fix it.
Alroger has reported that external sd is not mounted and tab has no usb yet. I have these bugs too..
Alroger has made its own build yet with kernel 3.0.74 and humberos fixed furthermore the bugs.

For my P1000 this kernel is much better:
Charge works now
Tab connects to PC by USB
It seems to me that tab now isn't as hot as yesterday with 3.0.70 kernel.
Emmc is mounted, but once after some gaming I saw it unmounted.

Humberto has commited now 3.0.75 and fixed yesterday vabrations. I try to compile today later the kernel
3.0.75 kernel for P1000
storm31 has compiled new kernel - 3.0.75.
Have not tested too much, but charge and emmc mounting works. As well as connection to PC. Youcan try attached recovery zip for P1000.
Warning!
The kernel contains broken recovery. To rollback you have to flash previous kernel via Heimdall or make a full restock.
Help meee

I made no special steps for emmc mounting. The only thing I can assume is I've flashed last ROM (with 2.6.35 kernel) after restock. While last kernel was installed from CWM. By the way last ROM i use was compiled by storm31 who as well compiled 3.0.75 kernel (it's not mine!).

My emmc cannot mount also. OsitKP has one build with same old components, i have one mit newer components. It is possible that they have one or more bugs. We must wait for humberos, he is the "big man" by kernel developing. I would like to mention that the kernel 3.0.xx is very experimental. The next bad thing is that recovery seems to be brocken
3.0.75 kernel compiled by storm31
CWM zip, now with working recovery.
As for emmc it is my fault (I meant usial work. But when connected to PC it's not mounted).
Vibration and display colors are not fixed yet.
And charge is very weak.
