[Q] Why can't I flash ANY roms ?HD2 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I've been trying different roms, different methods (clk, mag, etc) . And I have had no luck all day, every rom gets stuck at the boot screen and I am forced to go back to my stock rom. I've flashed this phone before, so i'm not completely new but i'm obviously no expert. Any thoughts or ideas guys ?

before you flash other , would you try flash sd rom ?
need hspl and not 51 radio.
till now i'm happy with my HD2 , HD2 with android SD rom.

I did try flashing from an SD , mine is 16G and I heard that was too big or something. can you link me to radios if that wouldn't be too much ?

maybe you can use this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
must be on hspl 2.08 flash.

Not sure which radio to use, but when I get into magldr i try to boot from NAND and I get "Nand kernel open Fail" , the same when i try to boot from SD

i'm not familiar with nand , because i flash nand with this one.
i still can check my radio because i still use with WM6.5
my radio 2.15.50.40

Did you guys format your sd card to FAT32 and follow the correct steps:

What are your guys' stats in order to help properly.

I have 3.03 SPL, can I run Android?

So I have 3.03 SPL, 2.15 radio and 3.14 ROM. Can I run Android from my SD card without flashing anything?
Yes, definitely. I have SPL3.03, flashed the stock ROM (keeping the radio) to Dexter and installed MDJ Androoid builds. I guess you could skip the flashing with Custom ROM and install Android on the stock or flash to any ROM compatible with your radio. Look here to see how to flash w/o HSPL. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606713
I confirm
I tried to install Android but when I run it, a little bit of text appears for a couple of seconds and then it goes to the white htc screen and wont boot even after 40 minutes of waiting.
Do you have any idea why it doesnt boot please?
Did you try to format your µSD card? Probably you'll need to flash your ROM anyway, but flashing without HSPL do not void your garanty and do not cause problems with SPL3.03 RAM.
Try to hard reset your phone, format SD card and try again.

Hi mate, I use SD American Android and it works well.
You should have SPL 2.08 HSPL
You need Radio 2.15.xx
And you need a custom rom that is compatible. As a reference, I use platinum series custom wm rom (check my sig below)
Reformat your micro sd with fat32. Dont put any files on there, except the Android files in the root of your sd card.
Dont forget to change the gps zone in the "Startup.cfg" to your location/country code
Leave it booting for 30 minutes..
I also thought that it wouldn boot, after almost 30 minutes it booted...
Dont give up mate

You do not have to have HSPL to run Android from SD card, HSPL is only needed if you are going to flash a custom Win Mo ROM, a stock Win Mo ROM that os not for your HD2, MAGLDR, cLK, or if you are going to run a Task 29. I ran three different Android SD builds before going NAND and never had HSPL on my HD2 until I got ready to flash MAGLDR.
Also you do not have to flash a custom ROM to run Android. You just want to have a 3.14 Win Mo ROM be it stock or custom. what matters is that ot is a 3.14 ROM. I ran all three Android SD card builds on a completely stock 3.14 ROM and never had any problems with them, except data drops which are just because they are SD builds.
Oh and by they way I accidently hit your thanks button trying to hit quote. lol

[Q] Why am I unable to flash radio but have no problems flashing roms

Up until now I have not had any issues with flashing ROMs and Radios. I've only done the radio once a long time ago, but several ROMs from WM6 through to Android.
I want to flash Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2 but have also tried a few others with no success. When using the Windows CustomRUU the phone goes to the usual progress bar but stays on 0%. I have also tried renaming the ROM and trying to flash from the red blue green screen. This method hangs too with "Loading...".
The phone is on T-Mobile UK
SPL-2.08.0000
MAGLDR 1.13
ClockworkMod Recovery v3.0.2.5
TyphooN_v3.4.3
I think my current radio is 2.07 something but I don't seem to be able to find out...
I've been searching for a solution for hours and it's starting to get to me. Can anyone help please?
Do HSPL.
10 char
Edit:
How come you have MAGLDR installed and yet your SPL is 0000 ?
i'm flashing my radios using ksubedi's nand tool kit.can you give it a try?

His SPL is 2.08.0000, stock SPL
I always just stick the radio on SD after naming it leoimg.nbh and fastboot
Sent from my HTC HD2
Thanks guys. I didn't realise it could revert back to stock. I've never flashed anything original/old so I have no idea why it did. Flashed both and everything is good. I have gained 2 bars of signal, can't be a bad thing.

[Q] White Screen of Death [HELP]

I've been searching for over 20hours around the internet for any solution to the so dreadful White Screen of Death in HD2.
This is due to a Radio Rom incopatible with the device. May be called Radio Brick! Lol
Well, it's truly desperating, as no method tried works!
The phone as soon as it's turned on just shows a white screen, no letters, no nothing.
Happened when I - dumbly - flashed a incompatible radio rom...
It has happened to a lot of other good people, but no solutions yet arrived to the internet!!!
In my case, I have hspl 2.08, and can perfectly access to bootloader, but flashing anything through SD does NOT work.
WHAT I'VE TRIED:
-flashing stock rom from HTC site, but when it comes to the radio part... UPDATE FAILED!
-tried a method here in XDA that solved a case like this but nothing... when it comes to flashing the radio, it always fails
-tried downgrading HSPL to SPL or to another version of HSPL.. curiously, the process says it was sucessfull but it changes nothing.. when i go to bootloader again the version is the same, no matter what kind of version I select...weird!
-nothing flashed through RUU works because comunication fails after 5min at 0%
-task 29 - does nothing
-changing rom/radios - always gives an error in radio update
I'm really, really, REALLY desperate, and I believe i'm not the only one in this situation!
Does someone have a brilliant idea on this?
I got it working again a couple of times but then it starts freezing after 10 hours and then i get again the whitescreen..
Now its stuck at bootloader i can't get in magldrboatloader does some1 known how i get into magldr because than i can flash another rom because in boatloader i can't flash
Hello,
I also have same problem I also cannot find a solution, Hope somebody can help us.
try j-tagging your devices !!
also it may be a hardware issue !!
good luck !!
Are you sure flashing through SD isn't working? Format the SD card new as FAT not as FAT32. And try to rename the the nbh file with into LEOIMG.NBH . Flash through a SD not a SDHC. Try this things, if they aren't working maybe j-tagging fix it.

you'll have to try flashing your device again and again !?
but i think j tagging is the best option for this problem !! !!
you can go to the original htc store if you have not flashed hspl !!
(flashing hspl voids warranty !) !! also try to stock spl to 1.42.0000 by using hspl2 !!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
if the bootloader screen (the three color screen) show 1.42.0000 spl then u can show it to the official htc stores !!
else
contact a local repair shop and try to jtag !!
may help !!
good luck !! !
So there is no fix i can do at home like flashing a specific rom or something else?
if the bootloader screen (the three color screen) show 1.42.0000 spl

The best thing you can do is update the kernel version. I haven't had a WSOD for more than half of year.
The only kernel I've had this problem with was a rafpigna kernel on a sense rom. It was a build made in the first trimester of this year.
SPL-2.08. HSPL
I can flash it back to the normal rom from windows mobile. But i want a android version maybe some1 know a good rom and radio thats stays good?

Radio 2.12.50.02.2
ROM Redux2
Kernel Tytung (Redux2 have Tytung 12.4 by default)
how about hardware reset with pressing 3 keys at the same time?
Let me explain whats happing me all the time:
First my phone freezed up all the time and after a couple of weeks I got the [wsod] I can boot into bootloader (3 color screen) there I can flash it back to the original stock (WiMo6.5)
But I want android for my whatsapp and I like android. So I put maglder 1.13 on my phone. Then I tried android NAND flashing this worked but afther 10 hours my phone is off and I got the [wsod] again. I flashed my radio first to 2.15 but didnt help I tried this 2 times.
Yesterday I flashed my hd2 I followed a guide for android sd flashing I put the radio 2.12 on my phone and a old rom. I flashed it with haregt.exe it worked for 10 hours again then boom [wsod]
Im realy desperate, have some1 fixed this problem by himself already?
Did you try to run winmo for a few days? If you have problems even with stock OS most probably is hardware issue. If everything is OK running winmo then try fresh install (task29, radio, magldr, predefined recovery,ROM) of this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1395049
For me works perfect.HD2 EU Radio 2.15.50.14
