Hi mate, I use SD American Android and it works well.
You should have SPL 2.08 HSPL
You need Radio 2.15.xx
And you need a custom rom that is compatible. As a reference, I use platinum series custom wm rom (check my sig below)
Reformat your micro sd with fat32. Dont put any files on there, except the Android files in the root of your sd card.
Dont forget to change the gps zone in the "Startup.cfg" to your location/country code
Leave it booting for 30 minutes..
I also thought that it wouldn boot, after almost 30 minutes it booted...
Dont give up mate

You do not have to have HSPL to run Android from SD card, HSPL is only needed if you are going to flash a custom Win Mo ROM, a stock Win Mo ROM that os not for your HD2, MAGLDR, cLK, or if you are going to run a Task 29. I ran three different Android SD builds before going NAND and never had HSPL on my HD2 until I got ready to flash MAGLDR.
Also you do not have to flash a custom ROM to run Android. You just want to have a 3.14 Win Mo ROM be it stock or custom. what matters is that ot is a 3.14 ROM. I ran all three Android SD card builds on a completely stock 3.14 ROM and never had any problems with them, except data drops which are just because they are SD builds.
Oh and by they way I accidently hit your thanks button trying to hit quote. lol

[Q] HTC Stock ROM 3.14, SPL 3.03 - is NAND Android possible?

Hi, aftet two days of reading the xda-forum and unsuccesful try to install NAND version on my HD2, i'm asking this simple question.
My LEO is with stock ROM 3.14, SPL 3.0.3, radio 2.15.xx.xx.
I understood that it can be installed SD Android version, but i preffer faster NAND version.
Is that possible or it will be when HSPL for this SPL is availible?
Thank you!
You need to downgrade your SPL version in order to install HSPL2.08, and to do this you must flash an earlier stock ROM.
Look in the Android WM Development forum for a stock 1.66 ROM for your handset and flash that. You can then flash HSPL2.08 and then finally Magldr and Android.
There's plenty to do, but it's straight forward enough. Just make sure to read up on what you're doing first and it'll be no problem.
Thank you
Thank you for your advice, i'll try it and i'll push hard to do this, i'm former Desire and Galaxy S user, but with my own eyes i see that the Desire is faster then Galaxy, and the HD2 with Android /Nand/ is faster and smoother than both of them.

if you want nand only for speed, then try the ram builds on sd card..(eg: superram by darkstone )they are faster than nand...this way, you dont need to flash anything...no need to downgrade, no need to hspl...........just copy the android folder to your sd and voila..

just to give you some insight, I have the same stock setup as is you, and I'm using darkstone sense v0.1 and its great, fast, stable and everything working very well.. you have to try it, don't forget to use an autoboot application to achieve a reasonable battery life..

I had 3.14 based GTX 2.5 Elegancia ROM, Radio 2.15.50.14 and everything worked just right to get NAND on my HD2.
When you say 1.66ROM I am not sure if you are referring to Radio or ROM version.
Instructions on NAND for newbs thread says:
Radio 2.15.50.14 recommendable!!!
HSPL3 package can be used to downgrade to HSPL 2.08 HSPL (do not choose 2.08.0000 - but 2.08 HSPL ...
Note: Stock HD2 should have 2.10.0000 (stock);
Anyhow, it worked perfect so I think you should be good as long as your HSPL is downgraded to 2.08 version ... FYI - when you download HSPL file is titled HSPL3_package.rar ... this means HSPL version is 3 but you want to run it and set it up on 2.08 and than flash it onto your phone.
hopefully I didn confuse you too much

you probably have tmous hd2 and hence your spl is 2.10...for non-tmous hd2 the new stock 3.14 official rom has a spl3.03, which is not compatible with hspl...that is why john has suggested to roll back to an earlier stock rom (nontmous rom versions are older and different (1.48,1.72,1.66 etc)than tmous stock roms (2.x, 2.1x etc))
Hi

ha ha ha...ok...so simple answer....no, you cannot install nand android on 3.14 rom with spl3.03, because you need magldr...(and hspl for magldr).....and hspl is not compatible with 3.03spl. and there is no idea if and when a new hspl will be available..
...so the only option for you if you want nand android, is to flash an older stock rom to downgrade your spl to less than 2.10 (1.42,1.66,2.08,2.10 etc)and only then can you install hspl without problems...and then flash a radio more than 2.08,( preferably 2.15)...then flash magldr, then flash android nand rom........got it??
it is not difficult if you have all those files ready...each flash takes 2 to 10 minutes maximum...so in total, within 30 minutes, you can have android
(you dont need any of these steps if you can use a sd/ram build )
make sure you roll back flash to the stock rom specific for your region.(.important!)
SD card android possible over 3.14 winmo ROM?

Yes you can run Android from SD if you have a 3.14 ROM. It is the radio that is important really when running Android from SD. You will want to check the thread of the build you want to use to see if it is a radio version suggested by the dev of the build. The radio right radio can keep you from having robot voices and some other stuff too. Check below fow instructions on how to install.

All you need to do is download the build of your choice and then unzip the contents of the zip file to a folder named Android. Some builds create a folder named Android and puts all file sin it when you unzip it so check and see if that is the case with the build you are going to use. Once you have the files extracted to the Android folder just copy the Android folder to the root of your SD card. Then use file explorer to navigate to the Android folder and open it. then touch on CLCAD first, this just enables the sound in Android but it will look like it did nothing, this is normal. Next touch on HARET and you will see a box pop up that says booting lenuix with a progress bar in it. Just let the build boot up from there, the first boot may take up to 5 to 10 minutes as it has to create a good bit of files for the Android. Also make sure to boot your Android build this way the first time then you can start using the a dual boot app. And make a backup of your SD card before you first boot Android so you can have a way to know what was on it before you used Android.
You do not have to have HSPL to run Android from SD card. And SPL has nothing to do with running Android from SD card.
Thank u T-Macgnolia and appreciate your reply. I will try this and publish here the result.
It worked.... tqsm

[Q] Android not booting from SD card

Hi Guy's, I'm totally new to trying to boot android fromSD on the Hd2. I have tried putting the Android folder from MDJ Froyo 4.6 onto the root of my SD card. I've run CLRCAD and haret. All get is the black screen with 'loading linux' (which remains stationary). I have left the phone for up half an hour and its still stationary an no Android. I,ve tried reformatting 2 cards. Help !!!
Hi ! You'd better change to an Android NAND Build, I'm currently using Android 2.2 NexusHD2 Froyo V1.9G Build on NAND, but I'm also using SD Android builds to test them..
So I never met problems when booting into Android.. but I'm using the latest Radio: 2.15.50.14 ..
By the way if you're booting into Android through CLRCAD & Haret, this means you're currently on WinMo 6.5, so it may be that your current WinMo 6.5 ROM is old, so try this one, if you're using European HD2, try to update your ROM to version 3.14.405.2, which is this one: http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportViewNews.aspx?dl_id=1043&news_id=782, but if you're using the T-Mobile US HD2, then try to update to ROM 3.14.531.1, which is this: http://dl.htc.com/ruudownload/t-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=leo2 ..
Your Radio Version may also be outdated, so that's why you can't load Android, which requires the newest versions of Radio to use... try the newest version 2.15.50.14.. which is this one: http://www.multiupload.com/QP0IWGY42F

Make sure you have radio 2.08.50.xx or higher.... what kind of HD2 do you have? Are you using a custom rom or stock rom.
did you install hspl3?
just like me i tried to install( when i was new)face this problem.
also if you have original rom installed get rid-of that find alternate best rom then try to install android .but b4 you do any things read carefully.
what size is your sd card? check if it doesn't get full at the boot. i had the same issue and it turned out that bigger sd card help.

If he has not HSPL... then he has not the good radio.
If he has the good radio... he has the good spl
What happen to one of my friend (can't remember if it was on HD or HD2) was an incompatible SD card. Try with another SD (if your radio is ok).
Stick with the sd version for now. Nand is still buggy and twice as difficult to install. Try nand when you get a little more knowledgeable.
So you tried 2 cards and formatted them both. Both cards are over 2GB?
As a couple members above mentioned you need a radio of 2.08.50 or above on your phone for android. EX: 2.10.50, 2.12.50, 2.14.50, or 2.15.50. To get the radio you either need to install rom 3.14 on your phone only if available for your regioned phone or install HSPL then 1 of those radios.
Thanks very much. I'll try and give it a go.
The ROM I'm using is a stock O2 UK ROM version 1.72.206.3, Radio version 2.07.51.22. I'd like to try using a cooked ROM, but I am going to have to read carefully how to flash as I've only done this once with the stock ROM. I will also try using a new sd card when i get a chance to go out and buy one. !! Thanks to everyone who has replied.

You have problem with the radio version. You have a .51 radio (ie 2.07.51.22) instead of the .50 radio (2.08.50.xx or higher .50). You will need to install HSPL 2.08.hspl and then flash a compatible radio. There's probably nothing wrong with your sd card, it's your radio version.

NAND builds are no more or less buggy the SD builds and they are not "twice" as difficult to install at all.

[Q] HTC HD2 American Android 2.3 TMOUS Install Issue

Unable to load American Android 2.3 on HTC HD2.
Downloaded the American Android 2.3 for TMOUS->Extracted Android folder to blank SD card /sdcard/Android->Opened up file manager on HTC HD2 /sdcard/Android and ran clrcad.exe got the untrusted popup clicked okay->Ran haret.exe got popup again clicked okay then saw a few white command lines (maybe 5) then the green HTC logo appears and sits there for ever. I let it sit for 30 min and no change had to pull the battery and restart windows. Phone is up to date only difference might be is it has been unlocked through T-Mobile. Does anyone know how to avoid this?
Ergh
I even tried HSPL3 and that didn't help... I just want the American Android 2.3 Gingerbread to load on my HTC HD2.. WTF!
Im having the same problem as well. I did the fat32 primary partition, on a clean sd card, ill wait for 30 minutes before i give up. some one please help, i got the desire hd rom running but would like to see what the gingerbread 2.3.3 is like.
Did you flash a new radio rom?
SO, you are going from WIn 6.5 to Android just by haret ? You cannot
If I was you I would start all over flashing HSPL 3, then flash Radio 2.15, then install Magldr 1.3, then copy the zip file to sd card and install. It's as easy as drinking a glass of water.
Be sure you chose SPL 2.08.HSPL and NOT SPL 2.80 when you flash HSPL 3

Ok first off what valv507 is mistakenly thinking you are trying to run Andriod from NAND. When you flashed MAGLDR you wiped your ROM from your HD2. This is why you can not get past MAGLDR it needs a ROM to boot.
You will have to reinstall your Windows Mobile ROM (hope you dide not loose too much data ) make sure it is a 3.14 ROM as they are the best for running Android from SD. Also make sure you have the 2.15.50.14 radio or atleast the 2.14.50.02 radio, the 2.15.50.14 radio is the best though. Also reformat your SD card again but use the Panisonic software to format it as most people say it is better than the Windows software. You can download it here. Make sure you do a full wipe and format using Fat 32. Then place all of your files and stuff from your back up back on your SD card including your Adroid build. then try to boot the Android again.
Put your HD2 into bootloader to reflash your Win Mo ROM. Hold down the volume down button while powering on your HD2 to get to bootloader and make sure you see USB in the white bar of bootloader before you flash the ROM.

If you do a YouTube search you cab find a "how to install " video for installing NAND Android GB 2.3.2 on the HD2, it also has links to ROMs, Radios and MAGLDR 1.13. I installed it in about 15 mins after d/ling the specified files and I have only had a HD2 for 3 days. Very good video. If you want to go NAND Android just click on thr guide linked in my signature. I have links to two of the best guides on how to install NAND Android on your HD2 at the top of my guide. My guide is not a guide on how to install NAND Android but a guide to teach you what the things you need to install and run Android from NANN and WP7 are, what they do, and how to install them.
Also I use a non HTC Sense Gingerbread ROM and I really like it click the link for Hyperdroid in my signature if you want to check it out.

What exactly are you asking here? Do youi want to know how to enter bootloader?
If so you just hold your volume down button down while powering on your HD2, this brings up the multicolor bootloader screen. From bootloader you can connect your HD2 to your computer wait for Serial to change to USB and then flash what ever you are wanting to flash radio, Windows Mobile ROM, splash screen, MAGLDR, and cLK. Click on my guide in my signature to get even more knowledge.
it is possilbe to have magldr installed running whatever NAND os you want.. and still boot ACA from sdcard.
the first post of the ACA thread has all the details you need to accomplish this.

to run it from nand you go to 10 services, than boot settings ,than select android sd ,than go to 10 again than select boot settings ad sd dir than select the android folder make sure there is not another folder named android, than go to ad sd nand and it will load. it tooked 15 minutes but he did say it would take long.
I took the same steps as the OP did and I'm experiencing the same problem. I am not planning to go through NAND and would like to stick with the SD build but it will not load. Any suggestions?
I'm using the latest American android build. Here is what I did:
1. Copy ENTIRE android folder to sd. If you want a faster boot time you need to copy over a new data image since one is not included in this build. It will create one on first boot, but this takes longer.
2. Once you've done this run clrcad then haret and allow it to boot. Mine took about 15 min total boot time to first lock screen without a data img. And about 7 to 10 min with.
3. Once you see the first screen DO NOT touch it. Let it settle for about 10 min. After that it should shut it self down.
4. Turn phone back on and boot android again. Letting it settle again for a few minutes. After 5 or 10 min of letting it settle pick it up and enjoy your sexy gingerbread.
Also, on a side not magldr is used for booting from wp7 to android. Haret is what is used for booting android from wm6.5
Hope this helped.

Did you really follow everything step by step?
With the problem you describe, people usually forgot to flash the correct HSPL or Radio ROM.
It must be 2.08.HSPL and Radio ROM 2.15.50.xx, before installing MAGLDR 1.13.
Sometimes, incompatible SD cards make trouble, too.

TMOUS?
If you've got the "other" (US 1024) HD2 you might have properly screwed your phone up
If you've got the European (512) non-TMOUS version then you've done something wrong on one of the steps. No more than pointers here though. You will have to search for yourself in the Development Pages.
1.HSPL
2.Correct Radio
3.MagLdr
4.ROM
In any case this Forum will help solve your issues.

Stickies
Read the stickies in development forum. I think you need seperate ROMs for TMOUS. Maybe also different HSPL, and MagLdr. I don't know what you flashed or what you should have flashed, so you need to read everything the people in the know have written.
Stuck on HTC screen as well!
I have tried it all!
Task 29, reinstall HSPL, reinstalled stock Winmo 6.5, reinstall MAGDLR 1.13, Radio 2.15, etc...
Stock 6.5 rom boots run fine.
Win 7 ROM install fine but then hangs on HTC screen forever! Been looking at it for 30 mins now!
This is highly annoying as everything was working fine last week!
Weirrrrrdddd.
Anybody got tips on this?
Peace.
This is on a EU HD2.

What version of HSPL did you install?
And about WP7, did you installed from the bootloader or MAGDLR USB Flash?
Hey @xsi!
Got 2.08.HSPL
Flashed WP7 through MAGDLR. Everything is going smooth, partitions ok but reboot stuck on HTC logo for ever!
Tried to reinstall Android through Clk no problems, Android boots fine and all, flashed WP7 through MAGDLR after but same thing happens!
Maybe a problem with Clk NAND partitions?
Cheers!

No my friend i will go with sd card problem ... i had same problem it will stock at htc logo ... tried couple sd card 7 of them and i works with 1 gig sd card memory

do i need a new radio flashing?

Hi guys... i am in the process of installing hardspl on my phone...do i need to flash a new radio aswell????...i currently have
Rom version 3.14.206.1
Radio version 2.15.50.14
spl-3.03.0000
also when i install hard spl do i need to uninstall the current spl or does it get overwritten?????
no. run hspl4, choose 2,08,hspl, all ready for droid. (unless u are wanting to run sd card android, in which case you dont need hspl, only for changing the winmo rom, radio is still fine)
Hi...yes i am wanting to run android from sd card...you said in that case i wont need hard spl??...I am still unable to boot android from sd card... i thought i HAD to have hard spl??
i installed a rom called mccm hd v6..after selecting clrad and hacket i get a white splash screen with green htc logo...nothings happening after that...i also have the latest windows rom aswell...my spl is 3.003...please help guys!!!
no, only for nand android. sd android is running on top of winmo, so doesnt care about the spl.
However, ive never run sd android, im just telling you what i 'think' to be true, it wont hurt to try 2.08.hspl, BUT, since you have a regular hd2, (3.14.206.1 is o2, i think?) then setting 2.08.hspl will cause the 3.14 winmo rom to stop working properly, become unstable and report only 50 or so meg free ram, , , so if you DO want to try setting hspl, you will need to change winmo roms too. (Another reason i believe you can run sd android without 2.08.hspl is because i know people run it alongside 3.14 roms which require 3.03 spl's )
If i were you, id consider looking into the problem android is throwing, , some take aaaaaaaages first boot, for instance, when they build teh data file, and i do mean aaaaages, tens of minutes for some roms,
ok...so how come i am unable to boot to the new android rom?...i did manage to install gingerbread by tytung a couple of weeks ago...was having problems with that...after i uninstalled it i can no longer re-install it!!!!...i have done 2 fresh installs but its not booting it up anymore...strange...
dunno, sorry, i never got sd android to boot either, tried on maybe a dozen different occasions, a few hours each time,, and only got it to work once, and it caused me to hard reset next time i booted, cos winmo wouldnt boot, so i left it alone till nand came along. (And at that time i would have been running 2.08.hspl too,,, so it wasnt that)
perhaps you have a leftover data folder or summin, from the old instal on your sd card? i know on nand builds if you dont clear out the data from the old one it can cause failed boots.
i have formatted the sd card a good few times!...dont know what it could be then....
