Hej Folks, in the original nook settings, there is the social section and there is the possibility to Link to Facebook, Twitter and Google. But when i tap on that, it loads for 2 seconds but then jumps back to the Social Settings. I have a rooted 1.0.1 nook.
Anyone can help? Thanx!
Based on what my experience and the experience of others have been is Rooting disables those social network settings.

Hi guys, first post here but been around a bit on the forum
Basically whenever i connect my contacts to their facebook profile everything syncs up fine EXCEPT their profile pictures, i'm not sure what caused it but if the contact was added recently on facebook it just cant seem to load the picture for it .
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on my problem or had suffered something similar.

Make sure you are on a wi-fi network and allow time for the picture to be downloaded..If it doesn't appear, edit the contact and select the facebook picture..
Nevermind i solved the problem now it was to do with how i was connecting, i had to connect via 3G to access facebook and wifi to access twitter.
Hey but it works pretty well for me with Wi-Fi too....jus needs time to download the picture.....all you have to do as the prev post said.....iv personally tried and tested it

this has always worked for me but now all of a sudden the pictures are not loading. When I synch with facebook I see the pictures on everybody when I can select what contacts to synch. (I have all boxes checked) but after accepting no pictures are synched. Everything else is synched...
Hi guys, sorry to bring up an old post but I think it's the same issue I'm now having.
I was able to view all the FB profile pictures until recently. They're all set to FB profile picture but I get the person outline instead of their picture.
Even my own "Me" contact card won't show my profile picture, it's annoying that it did work but now it doesn't!
Any ideas? Status' are updating. I signed out then back into FB. I didn't have to connect via wifi before when it worked. When I go to Settings>Data services>Facebook, I'm logged in but the icon is grey, maybe it always but <i>thought</i> it used to be blue.

Totally was having the same issue up until about 5 minutes ago, found the way to fix it! It has to do with your actual Facebook account and not the phone. You have to change your Facebook account to DISABLE the secure browsing (https). once you do that, relog into Facebook on your HTC Sense and reload the profile pictures!!
You my friend are a hero, that fixed it for me too! So now I have a bright colourful address book again, yay!

After enabling secure browsing on FB, my phone didnt sync aswell. Took me ages to find out.
So, I'm still having the same problem. How exactly do I turn off the secure browsing on my browser?
I had the picture sync problem on ICS. I use HaxSync now. Works very well!

You do not need turn off the secure browsing on your browser, you need open your FB account with your browser ( IE, Chrome, Mozila), then select the arrow at the top right (next HOME button), and choose from there Account settings. In newly opened window of FB choose Security. Now you can see on the first row your
secure browsing - edit it!
Pay attention: You need DISABLE it (uncheck) !!!!!!!!!!....if you want syncing FB contacts with HTC contacts

I was on Froyo 2.1 on my Galaxy S i cant say anymore than that because once i was home i updated via Kies i believe it is to Froyo 2.2 XXJPO base version I9000XXJPP, All i did was update via kies and i changed nothing else!!
in 2.1 and social hub it showed my facebook, messages and both my hotmail accounts, since updating it only shows facebook and messages, i can not for the life of me get it to show my hotmail accounts anymore, this as been for well over 24hrs now
I also have a gmail account that is my main account and my push account, should that be in social hub because it is not??
my hotmail accounts are set to never download, well manual download!! which i have done!
but it would be nice to get all of my things in social hub again!!
does anyone have any ideas to what i could do other than maybe going back to froyo 2.1 because it did work on that build!!

Hey Chris, I can't help you bud, but wanted to let you know you're not alone. I have exactly the same issue. It used to be a really useful app, but now I don't use it at all.
Not much of an 'upgrade' is it? I've seen other post in various places that they have the same problem, maybe it's a google thing, trying to push people into using gmail??
Did you try adding your Hotmail accounts via Contacts ->Activities ->Menu->Add account->Corporate account (for any thing other than Gmail).
I have them working fine on my SGS 2.2
Your accounts will appear in Social hub when you have added them using the 'Samsung Email' app. You should have three email apps, Gmail, Email and Samsung Email, only accounts added and used through the Samsung email app will appear in Social Hub.

Just bugs the hell out me that it worked, I upgraded and now nothing!
I read someone say it just started working for them a few hours after it stopped so I hope that could happen to me but still no luck as yet.
As for adding accounts via contacts, I tried that, it just takes me to accounts & sync I think it is and I added my hotmail via corporate and selected push and had all working fine but still nothing in social hub, sorry I could not quote the post above this, but sure how to quote multiple posts on this app.

I have no idea what the samsung email app is, I was lead to believe that to get them in social hub we have to add email in the email app, little white envelope with the green @ sign which I did in 2.1 and all worked but in 2.2 I did exactly the save but but working, I have never added via samsung email and I had it working on froyo 2.1
I don't have a samsung app
Of course I can live without it, just it really bugs me that it worked but now won't and now only shows message and facebook even though I have gmail and 2 other hotmail accounts set up on my SGS

Finally got my social hub issue sorted
I upgraded to 2.2.1 I9000XXJPU
its much much much better,, plus with the OCLF 2.2 it flies and my battery is amazing, runs for over 27hrs none stop with gmail push email, not bad when i am home 12hrs after its unplugged, so now I can easily stay out the night and not have to worry about it dying like my HD2 used too, so im very pleased

gmail
and 2 x hotmail in my social hub

i am trying to add an account in "accounts and sync" setting but i cannot login to facebook or twitter
i have internet connectivity and everything else works fine
there is a problem also when i try to login to hotspots at airports that require a sign in page. The browser does not redirect me to the login page and rather shows me the "no connectivity" window
any ideas
I've also got exactly the same issue, I was just about to post about it. Just flashed the latest official rom and I can't get these setup through the social hub.
I guess that means that there is some sort of server problem or something, I dunno but I'm glad I'm not the only one

most likely the servers are down.
I've got the same problem at the moment, did a factory reset on my phone and its not letting me log into the account via the social hub anymore.
I can lot in via the facebook and sync via the facebook & twitter apps but not thru social hub.
I'm not running any customs roms so it looks like it might be a server error.
It's working now...
Its seems like its not working again, my facebook login keeps failing via the social hub.
Login works fine if I used the actual Facebook app and/ore login via web page.
Anyone else have this issue today?

following all the instructions.
The rom works fine, all in the phone is functional but, unlike other people I do like the blur social capabilities of the phone and to my surprise, other than some T.Mobile social crap there is no way to set up a Facebook or Twitter account via Motoblur.
When you set up your moto account, there is the option to set up a mail, yahoo, enterprise, gmail or T social stuff but not direct link to Facebook, Twitter, Picasa and all the other stuff my froyo firmware had.
Why is that, whas that disabled in the rom and not advertised in the post?
Please some help with this....
I think it's because of the chinese leak version. in china facebook is not allowed. just like all google-services, but they have been added to the rom manually.
maybe it's difficult to add native facebook support to the whole system?
but that is only what i think. some dev should tell us what exactly is the problem here.

Weird thing is that despite the warning my accounts didn't FC at all... it's kind of strange and I'm not a dev so...
I'm trying to figure out a way for a user to login to their Instagram account and see their photo news feed on my app.
I know that Instagram has android intents and that there are libraries that can connect a social network to an app, but none of them give me the ability to see my news feed.
So is it possible?
If yes then how?
