following all the instructions.
The rom works fine, all in the phone is functional but, unlike other people I do like the blur social capabilities of the phone and to my surprise, other than some T.Mobile social crap there is no way to set up a Facebook or Twitter account via Motoblur.
When you set up your moto account, there is the option to set up a mail, yahoo, enterprise, gmail or T social stuff but not direct link to Facebook, Twitter, Picasa and all the other stuff my froyo firmware had.
Why is that, whas that disabled in the rom and not advertised in the post?
Please some help with this....
I think it's because of the chinese leak version. in china facebook is not allowed. just like all google-services, but they have been added to the rom manually.
maybe it's difficult to add native facebook support to the whole system?
but that is only what i think. some dev should tell us what exactly is the problem here.
Yes, I thought it could be because of the rom being chinese leak but I did add the social.zip that is on the thread and still nothing...
Weird thing is that despite the warning my accounts didn't FC at all... it's kind of strange and I'm not a dev so...

Hi, What does it mean exactly? I have a problem namely that the new E-mail doesn't appear in the Timescape, even if the mails have been downloaded manually (because the automatic E-mail sync also doesn't work many times). Also many times doesn't refresh the Timescape widget on the main screen.
Can I do anything with it?

I also configured an IMAP account for Gmail, those messages do show up in timescape. I hope they do full gmail and calendar integration for Timescape 2.1. :/

Upgraded to the new version of Froyo 'Android 2.2 (FroYo) On HTC [03 Sep 2010] (V1.6) ' and when I go to add account, I choose Facebook, and after a slight pause, returns to the General synch settings page, but no Facebook.
Worked fine on previous release of 2.1.
I downloaded Facebook from Market.
Any advice would be appreciated, possibly I have the wrong version for the phone??

Could this be because of a 'non-existing' link between the sync settings and the facebook app?
(Maybe because of some recent facebook app update?)
The facebook app itself works by the way, (notifications, widget, app etc) But it would be nice to sync contacts etc as well (A)
It doesn't work in mine either. (UK O2 Streak with official 2.1 update.)
Hopefully it'll be fixed soon as I liked how it automatically downloaded a profile picture for every contact in my phone.

Althought I cannot confirm, it appears there's 2 versions fo facebook available for us.
Facebook for Android or HTC Facebook for Sense. I recon I must have had HTC Facebook before which does synch the contacts..
Anyone confirm this??? Anywhere to download and test HTC Facebook for Sense??

I'm now in XDANDROID FRX04 with the latest facebook from the market and have the same problem, facebook does not sync the contacts.
Does someone make it work?
Does someone have a working apk of HTCFacebook?
Does not work for me either with XDAndroid FRX04 or Froyo X Red.
Right now i am using: SyncMyPix to sync Facebook contacts on my phone until this problem is resolved.
If the problem is between facebook app and phone contacts, perhaps it's because google blocked that feature. If it's between the app and facebook, no idea, it works for me.
Edit: NVM, I see what's the problem and dunno why

1st i do apologize if this is in the wrong section and I have looked around the site and found 5 more posts on this subject but no answer but i will go ahead anyway!!
I was on Froyo 2.1 on my Galaxy S i cant say anymore than that because once i was home i updated via Kies i believe it is to Froyo 2.2 XXJPO base version I9000XXJPP, All i did was update via kies and i changed nothing else!!
in 2.1 and social hub it showed my facebook, messages and both my hotmail accounts, since updating it only shows facebook and messages, i can not for the life of me get it to show my hotmail accounts anymore, this as been for well over 24hrs now
I also have a gmail account that is my main account and my push account, should that be in social hub because it is not??
my hotmail accounts are set to never download, well manual download!! which i have done!
but it would be nice to get all of my things in social hub again!!
does anyone have any ideas to what i could do other than maybe going back to froyo 2.1 because it did work on that build!!

Hey Chris, I can't help you bud, but wanted to let you know you're not alone. I have exactly the same issue. It used to be a really useful app, but now I don't use it at all.
Not much of an 'upgrade' is it? I've seen other post in various places that they have the same problem, maybe it's a google thing, trying to push people into using gmail??
Did you try adding your Hotmail accounts via Contacts ->Activities ->Menu->Add account->Corporate account (for any thing other than Gmail).
I have them working fine on my SGS 2.2
Your accounts will appear in Social hub when you have added them using the 'Samsung Email' app. You should have three email apps, Gmail, Email and Samsung Email, only accounts added and used through the Samsung email app will appear in Social Hub.

Just bugs the hell out me that it worked, I upgraded and now nothing!
I read someone say it just started working for them a few hours after it stopped so I hope that could happen to me but still no luck as yet.
As for adding accounts via contacts, I tried that, it just takes me to accounts & sync I think it is and I added my hotmail via corporate and selected push and had all working fine but still nothing in social hub, sorry I could not quote the post above this, but sure how to quote multiple posts on this app.

I have no idea what the samsung email app is, I was lead to believe that to get them in social hub we have to add email in the email app, little white envelope with the green @ sign which I did in 2.1 and all worked but in 2.2 I did exactly the save but but working, I have never added via samsung email and I had it working on froyo 2.1
I don't have a samsung app
Of course I can live without it, just it really bugs me that it worked but now won't and now only shows message and facebook even though I have gmail and 2 other hotmail accounts set up on my SGS

Finally got my social hub issue sorted
I upgraded to 2.2.1 I9000XXJPU
its much much much better,, plus with the OCLF 2.2 it flies and my battery is amazing, runs for over 27hrs none stop with gmail push email, not bad when i am home 12hrs after its unplugged, so now I can easily stay out the night and not have to worry about it dying like my HD2 used too, so im very pleased
i now have message
facebook
gmail
and 2 x hotmail in my social hub

Alright guys, I've searched all over and this question keeps getting asked but no one cares / sees to answer it.
I am having troubles syncing my Facebook Contacts after installing DL09 and Superclean Rom w/ Ad Test Kernal (newest one).
Sync will stop and say "it's currently having problems check again".
I figured making a thread will gather some attention to this issue, as I have searched and found nothing but unanswered questions by fellow members.

I've seen that message every so often and, for me at least, it seems to mean what it says. It's always started working again after waiting some random amount of time and trying again -- though sometimes it took a few days.
I have not found any way around it other than waiting,which leads me to conclude the SNS system just sucks. I'll never understand why Samsung made their own social network sync system when the Facebook and Twitter apps have far-superior systems built-in -- both of which SNS overrides and disables. Yet another benefit of AOSP roms!
Well my brothers phone, without Superclean ROM, works perfectly.
Clearly this issue is connected?

Anyways, can you simplify your question? I'm confused with the way you worded. Did you want facebook sync support from samsung our from the facebook app?
After rereading, do you have touch wiz launcher still installed?
Samsung's facebook requires tw launcher. But you would get fc acore.
We'll now I'm plain confused. I tried my dads facebook login on my phone, worked perfectly (he's got about 30 people). I tried mine again and it says currently experiencing problems. However, it was working perfectly earlier today on my account on DJ05, before I upgraded.
Now I feel like this has nothing to do with superclean, but my account (even though it was working earlier)?
I assume this is Samsung's SNS, how do you sync through the Facebook app?
Yes, I was going to tell you that I have no issues with sync with fb sns. The fb app doesn't sync with this phone.
Try logging in to fb on a computer. There may be a password issue.
The Facebook Android app works perfectly, I've been on it all day and my computer.
I'm thinking, before I upgraded to DJ09 I backed everything up (backup pro). Contacts, call, apps, you name it.
I'm wondering if when I restored it, it corrupt(edly) installed the contacts and the facebook login so maybe because the phone thinks its already connected it wont?

Well, make sure you don't restore system settings. Especially between versions because the settings get funny between versions.

The Social Networking application is not receiving updates and it seems to be somehow related to Webtop hack. I have this problem with newly installed full [ROM] Wet Dream v1.4.3 [2.3.6][LS HDMI][MODs][THEMEs], but many Atrix users reported here (not able to post link), that the problem started after webtop mod installation. The Webtop mod is included in this rom.
The problem is, that Social App looks like no Account is Added. I already tried to add and remove Facebook and Twitter accounts few time without success . The wired thing is, when I go to SETTINGS-ACCOUNTS-FACEBOOK there is no username, it is a blank field . I see the same problem with all motoblur accounts - picasa, Youtube, ...
My advice is beware of Webtop mod until this issiue is resolved, if you somehow rely on motoblur accounts.

I've got this to but I haven't even edited my webtop iv tried everything to get it working again even editing data/system/sync/ accounts.xml but nothing works
I had this, too, albeit it was on a clean fruitcake flash of both 4.5.91 and 4.5.133 (I think).
I think I SBFed back to the stock 4.5.91 and that fixed it. YMMV.

Make sure you have the Facebook Authenticator 2.3.6 installed on your system. If not, maybe you can recover it from a previous Titanium Backup.
You can check if you have it or not from Titanium Backup.
I'm just guessing here, so don't take my word for it.
