[Q] HD2 died - HSPL screen goes black after a few seconds - HD2 General

My HD2 died today - was stuck on booting logo, MAGLDR menu wasn't coming up. I booted the phone to HSPL and attempted to flash the 2.15.50.14 radio (was temporarily using 2.12.50.02 earlier due to poor network coverage in my area). During the flash the phone's screen went black with the backlight still on and I got the flashing error in CustomRUU. I booted the HSPL again and discovered a strange issue: the HSPL screen goes black after a few seconds and the USB connection gets lost. HSPL obviously shows the ROM update error now but I can't flash the radio as the HSPL dies after a few seconds... In all occasions the backlight is still left on but nothing on the screen. Tried two batteries, both fully charged.
Please help...
P.S. Earlier configuration: HSPL 2.08, radio 2.12.50.02, MAGLDR 1.13, ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5 and Typhoon CM7 in NAND
UPDATE: I tested the phone further and it seems that until I connect the USB cable the HSPL stays on. Right after connecting the USB cable the screen goes blank. Tested using different cables, different PCs with different OSs (Win7 and Ubuntu Natty). I attempted to flash Stock ROM 1.66 from SD card (renamed extracted nbh file to leoimg.nbh) but the HSPL blinks "no image file".

Freeze on HTC logo after MAGLDR install

Hi there! I have a problem after install MAGLDR :/ I connected my HD2 to computer with ActiveSync, runned ROMUpdateUtility from computer, on my phone there was a tricolour screen, then self-reset and phone is freezing on white HTC LOGO. I tried to turn off my phone, remove battery... I'm also turning my phone on with press vol down + power - I have 3 colour screen and now what? PLEASE HELP!
Connect your HD2 to your laptop/pc... boot it while pressing volume down.. wait untill it says usb in the bottom of your screen. Now you can flash HSPL 2.08 and flash a custom or original rom.
I had the same.. gonna stick with RAM roms untill this is nand stuff is sorted out
I have the same problem... but after reflash HSPL 2.08 there will be no change. Could not start the machine.
How can flash rom from pc without booting the machine?
I couldn't understand "Now you can flash HSPL 2.08 and flash a custom or original rom." the second step ...
solved!
I had the same problem.
The issue it's the radio.

Hi,
After installing hspl 2.08 and then going on to install magdlr, when successful and rebooting it just stayed on the HTC logo screen. It wont reset but it will enter into bootloader. How exactly do i fix this. I tried reinstalling HSPL but it is still stuck on that screen. How would i change this 'problematic radio'?
I relly need to fix my phone so any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Download a compatible radio (eg 2.15.50 in post above), boot to bootloader (switch off, vol down + power on (keep holding vol down until it boots), connect to pc and when usb shows on screen run the CustomRUU.exe in the radio download. (if there isn't one included you can take any one from a custom wm rom). You flash the radio the same way that you flash a rom.
Thanks for the quick response! I have tried doing this before and just tried the custom RUU posted above but when i run it where it says the image thats on the phone it is blank. Even so i click to update it and both on the phone and pc it stays at 0%. I don't know what to do!

Are you sure you have HSPL installed properly. In bootloader mode, check the spl version - it should show as 2.08.hspl, not 2.08.0000 or any other hspl version.
In bootloader mode it says SPL 2.08.0000? When installing it i did select the HSPL 2.08?? What should i do? Thanks

I had your problem and for some reason when I first ran hspl the first time and put 2.08 on my phone it said it worked but it didn't actually do anything.
Just reinstall 2.08 HSPL on your phone and then run MAGLDR.
Similar Scenario
I installed 2.08.HSPL - confirm at boot loader screen
I installed MAGLDR 1.13 with success
Flashed HD2_Core_Droid_Desire_HD_V1.5_NAND_ONLY_LEO1024_TMOUS to my phone with success
Phone worked fine for about a day and a half and froze up
Pulled battery and restarted to white screen
I can't seem to roll back the SPL, reinstall the MAGLDR, or install a different radio.
ROM Update Utility appears to start to work and phone restarts and I get an error message that the image is corrupt.
Any ideas?

[Q] HTC HD 2 Brick after HSPL Downgreat?

Hallo,
I want to flash the original Rom wmo 6.5.
So i thought that i have to make a HSPL downgreat from 2.08 to 1.44.
And after that nothing.
No chance to get into the Bootloader or start it normaly.
Befor this i tried to install Android [JDMS Ultimate Nand Rom] but everytime i become the ERROR 262 From the PDA Upgread Utility. It stans still it 0%.
2 times of 200 replays it works but than MAGDLR 1.13 give me the fatal error 1 message.
Now i thougt my htc hd2 is brick or not?
What can i do that it never happens again?
Hope you can Help me
tmous or regular hd2?
tmous - its probably dead from flashing any rom that uses spl 1.42, , is it a tmous? (green send key, red end key)
regular - need more info,,, what rom did you flash? exact filename please,
I Thought i have the regular HD 2.
First of all HSPL 2.08 was installed on my HD 2 after that i installed a new Radio Rom Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14 after that i installed magdlr 1.13.
All works fine but it dont boot.
go go go .... only fatal error1.
JDMS v1.6.2 Ultimate [Kernel: Hastarin 8.6N] NAND ROM
But then everytime i use PDA Rom Upgrade utility i stuck by 0% and i get the error 262 but it sometimes happend that i got the 100%.
After JDMS install that never boot up, i installed a Stock Rom (Original Rom)
from HTC
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_GER_3.14.407.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
But after 20 % it stuck.
I test Task29 and it works.
Then i installed HSPL2_RUN and installed HSPL 1.42.
And now i cant boot, i cant startup bootloader, i cant connect to pc.
Its totaly dead.

flashing that SPL should not have bricked your phone afaik. Did you do any battery pulls? (ben pins maybe?)
Yes, i thought 100 times in 2 days ...because everytime i got the 262 Error with 0% i had to pull the battery.
I ve looked at the pins but they looks fine.
hmmm ...but i dont get any led signal while im loading the battery?
Could i kill the battery? At the beginning everytime i loading the battery i got a Orange Led signal that it loads.

look again and make 100% sure none of the pins are even a little bent, because they may just not be connecting to all 3 battery slots, then put in the battery and plug in the phone and see if it gives a yellow charge light.
Could simply be a flat battery,,,magldr doesn't allow charging when the phone is off.
If you have an old USB cable, mini or micro, cut the end off, bare the red and black, battery out, hold red to + black to - on the battery for a minute or two, see what happens when you plug back in.

looks like he's not running magldr, from what I read he flashed task29 then HSPL 1.42, so he actually doesn't have anything on NAND atm

task29 only flashes the rom memory area, not teh spl/splash/radio areas. HSPL only affects the spl memory area, magldr exists in teh secondary splash screen area, so isn't touched by either of those. Magldr of course wont start since spl is no longer 2.08.x, but i suspect the non charge bug will still be in effect.
(Just for the record, and since there are so many posts recommending it, i personally believe in 99% of cases where task29 is run, there is no benefit at all. it just adds yet another write cycle to our already overstretched nand memory. flashing a new cwm partition will have the same effect.)

weird, last time I flashed task29 even with 2.08 I thought magldr didn't start and it didn't go past the splash, maybe I was wrong.
@ OP. have you tried to use a different battery?

Can't restore device to original RUU after NAND flash

Hi all, have a trouble after phone flashing.
Used NAND flash downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860&highlight=nexushd2-ics-cm9-hwa
After few weeks of exploitation there was a need to restore original ROM (WM 6.5).
But after phone re-flash now it hangs on T-mobile "Stick together" pink logo and constantly reboots.
Current state:
SPL-2.10.0000 (installed SPL 2.08, then replaced with 2.10 using T-Mobile original RUU)
Radio 2.15.50.14
Thanks for help in advance.
first of all,
-Format your sdcard by your PC like FAT32 "primary partition", and insert it to your phone,
-do 2.08.HSPL,
-use Task29,
-load Radio ROM 2.15.50.14,
-and then start the RUU as "Run as Administrator".
IF your rom is original win 6.5 ROM, it will install its own radio. Although, you must follow above steps in order.
(Of course, if you want to sent your device to service, then you can turn back to SPL-2.10.0000)
HD2 Toolkit 4.2.0.1; (HSPL, Task29, Magldr, Recovery or install Radio ROM... Tools you know. )

Radio ROM 2.15.50.14;

[Q] Trouble flashing HD2

Hello all together,
currently I'm having trouble with flashing ICS to a HD2. On that device there was a gingerbread version installed before.
The device is flashed with 2.08.HSPL and Radio 2.15.50.14. (These versions were already installed before).
I reflashed magldr 1.13 with Clockword mod 5.0.2.6. (After short trying CLK Loader). magldr is loading and I'm
selecting AD Recovery. Now I'm having the issue that the recovery is loading and rebooting direcly or rebooting
after showing the recovery screen for one second.
Absolutley weird is that if I plug out the usb cable the HD2 imediatly goes off and I'm not able to power it on again.
If I plug in the cable again the device is powering on automatically.
Could it be that the accumulator is empty (maybe it's weak and I tried several flashs). Will that produce my issues with the
recovery ?
Hope you could help me...
greetings Chris

You're battery is probably flat, and you can't charge the phone when it's off in MAGLDR, so when you plug it in it powers on, but then when it can't charge it powers off again, as it doesn't have any power, causing a bootloop. Basically you'll have to cut open a Micro USB cable and charge the phone manually, or if you have a spare HD2/a friend's HD2 running cLK or WinMo charge it in their phone. Then follow the guides as normal to flash Android.
or it could be a bent battery pin...?

hd2 with strange behavior

for me something is very strange:
got a phone with broken display; i changed the display and start the phone. noticed that it has spl 1.42.0000, but if i start normally, not in bootloader, got a white screen
installed hspl 2.08.hspl without problems
after that upgraded radio via usb, no errors, radio 2.15
after that installed magldr, no problems
after that task 29 and with hd2 toolkit installed clk
finally installed cwm and now the strange thing happens: tried to put the battery cover and the phone freeze... when restarted got a white screen!....
what happens?

sounds like a hardware failure to me . Better, wipe everything and start doin that from all over again, if you could. update hspl, then magloader then install rom. Or better to go stcok windows just to make sure things are working normal.....
tried already, but stock rom don't flash, gives me an error
