Can't restore device to original RUU after NAND flash - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi all, have a trouble after phone flashing.
Used NAND flash downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860&highlight=nexushd2-ics-cm9-hwa
After few weeks of exploitation there was a need to restore original ROM (WM 6.5).
But after phone re-flash now it hangs on T-mobile "Stick together" pink logo and constantly reboots.
Current state:
SPL-2.10.0000 (installed SPL 2.08, then replaced with 2.10 using T-Mobile original RUU)
Radio 2.15.50.14
Thanks for help in advance.

first of all,
-Format your sdcard by your PC like FAT32 "primary partition", and insert it to your phone,
-do 2.08.HSPL,
-use Task29,
-load Radio ROM 2.15.50.14,
-and then start the RUU as "Run as Administrator".
IF your rom is original win 6.5 ROM, it will install its own radio. Although, you must follow above steps in order.
(Of course, if you want to sent your device to service, then you can turn back to SPL-2.10.0000)
HD2 Toolkit 4.2.0.1; (HSPL, Task29, Magldr, Recovery or install Radio ROM... Tools you know. )

HD2 wont allow me to flash anything, was running Android NAND

HELP my HD2 wont let me flash anything to it
What happened was, the phone froze so i turned back on and it just loads a white screen and thats it.
i can get to the boot loader, but nothing will flash to it and it wont boot/install the the stock rom from SD CARD. a bunch of red numbers come up then it goes back to the boot loader.
is it dead?
Remove the battery for 3 minutes and replace...then press power button (red) without letting go until you get in to MGLDR screen.
hi, thank for the advice...gave it ago and nothing, just a white screen
when you hold down and get into bootloader, you're saying you can't flash the stock ROM via RUU?
what happens?
are you 100% sure it's the right stock rom?
I would flash task29 via RUU, then try a ROM again (doesn't have to be stock if HSPL is on there)
on the "red numbers" does it give an SPL version?
i tried a task29 and it just sits on 0%
SPL version is 2.08 HSPL 8G XE
nothing will go to it, when trying to flash via usb it goes into recovery mode on the pc (the RUU program)
when via SD card it goes to loading...
then 00068002 in red pops up then it goes back to the loader (Serial) at the bottom
im stumped
run HSPL4 and uninstall HSPL, then try stock ROM again via official ROM,
you can also try flashing SPL 3.03 via HSPL4, then trying a winmo ROM.
same problem with my phone, but I got it fixed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=994365
Hope it helps.

hi.
it will allow me to change the HSPL but then im back to square one, think im gonna bin it tbh.

Is this HD2 screwed?

Okay guys, am I screwed?
I tried putting android on this HD2.
I successfully installed HSPL 2.08 HSPL (So NO 2.08.0000)
Then I tried installing MAGLDR 1.13, just by executing the ROMUtilityUpdater.exe.
Clicked the first checkbox, then the 2nd, and then that 'Update' thingy.
It was going to updating from 1.72.XXXXX to 2.00.0.000 (or something)
I had it connected through Activesync (WinXP).
It was ready in 30seconds, instead of the normal 10 minutes.
Now it just hangs on the White HTC bootscreen.
I tried doing a Task29, but in the RGB Bootloader (USB connected) screen it won't connect to ActiveSync. I Ran it anyway, but still no Windows or MAGLDR.
Do I need to install a different Radio? If so how do I do that and where can I find it?
I am downloading a stock WinMo 6.5 Rom (vodafone branded, from HTC.com)
Thanks for all the help in advance!
had simillar problem. I would just install the latest Windows ROM 3.03 but thru SD card (Download official 3.03 ROM for Your phone, extract it, change the nbh file name to LEOIMG, put it on Your SD card, Switch the phone on holding volume button down, and then go with the instructions on the screen) cuz it changes Your SPL, then install HSPL 4. After that install CLK and CLOCKWORK and then NAND Your device with clk version android.
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837 if You dont know how to install clK. It is a bit complicated but if You are a bit computer literate You should be ok.
Okay, thanks!
I installed a stock vodafone rom, it is booting now!
so where do i find 2.15 pesky radio 2.15 rom?
I installed HSPL using HSPL in the first place

HD2 stuck on android Logo, and WM failed installing.

Hello. I just bought a HTC HD2 really cheap, the only problem is that it is stuck on android logo.
The seller says that after he installed Android on it he was unable to uninstall it and install winmo again. and now it is stuck on android logo and its needed to pull the battery to continue.
That is the info i have got so far (havent recieved the hd2 yet)
Anything u can suggest me to do when i recieve it?
Thanks
Hi lobfredd.
U must be check your HD2 type (t mobile or EU) then check HPSL ready yet (Volume down + power on)
then with HSPL intalled U can format your phone with Task 29 with newest Radio here

Use same way as flash as your rom flashing ^^
after Task29 your phone will be clean, it mean all partition deleted all data and all operation too.
all step for prepairing done
U can flash your Original Winmo Rom (remember chose right rom type EU or Tmous ) or Run Android NAND via MAGDR (search thí forum for useful threads)
Hey, Thanks!
I am pretty sure its EU (Since bought in norway)
I have read somewhere about ppl bricking their phone by flashing radio, is this the case? can i brick it by flashing new radio?
It depends. Really. If it's a TMOUS HD2, you can brick it. But you can't if it's EU.
Don't be surprised if you will see T-Mobile logo on the top - TMOUS HD2s aren't rare, even in EU.
Download a stock Rom from htc.com
- Rename the extension to .zip
- open it with winzip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file to a folder
- Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a microSD card thats been formatted to FAT32
- Insert your storage card into your phone
- Enter Bootloader and follow onscreen instructions to flash
(after it is done, install hspl 2.08, radio 2.15, clk/magldr, and from cwm wipe data/cache/dalvik cache)
Source
I just got the phone.
When i first turned it on i saw NRG's bootscreen then an android logo (where it became stuck)
I booted into the tricolor mode and saw that it had 3.03HSPL, so i used HSPL4 to install 2.08HSPL instead, when i turn it on now i get into the magldr v1.13.
Should i now do the task29 with radio 2.15?
(btw it was an EU HD2)
So with task29 you delete everything on the cell phone I have is with my htc hd2 android with task29 and then changed with original rom from www.htc.com on win6.5.
If the memory card
I think it may be radio bricked as it always fail on RADIO with when i try SD method with stock rom, or any radio.
however i have managed to get it success with Radio_2_07_51_22_2 and Radio_2_14_50_04.
but i havnt got any closer to booting the OS i think
i heard that if i install a rom without radio it may boot?
any1 know of any rom?
In magload do you have the option to enter clockwork mod?

Most of the custom WM-ROMs are without radio.
And also all android ROMs.
I had the same problem with a mainboard.
Was not able to install a radio.
And no FW will boot without radio.
I never found a solution. When radio ist bricked, the mainboard is useless

[Q]Help: is this HD2 dead?

First, sorry if I post the kind of question that has been already asked 1000 times, I'll understand if my post is deleted.
here is the story: I still have an HD2, but got a Sensation almost one year ago.
Now my HD2 is still WinMo 6.5 with Android from the SD card.
Yesterday, one of my pupils (yes, I'm a teacher, and my pupils know I'm into smartphones....!) gave me his HD2 because his father kinda bricked it.
I haven't been using my HD2 or reading XDA HD2 section or a long time (I'm too busy flashing my Sensation, so reading Sensation threads ), but I thought I could give it a try to unbrick it, I'm not a noob after all (selfish guy!!!!!!!!!)
I think this HD2 was somehow bricked while trying to install Android into NAND, or installing MAGDLR, as far as my pupil can tell from his dad
So this Sensation can't boot and has this, written in the 3 colours screen
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.00 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
icroP(TOUCH) 0x40
Upgrade ROM code error
Please try again

Here is the state I had this HD2, unable to boot, just able to get into bootloader with the message above.
I tried to flash latest Dutty ROM (because I was using Dutty creme of the creme at my HD2 time!)
=> through USB, flash freezes sometimes at 2%, sometimes 75%
=> through SD card: it flashes, says it's successful, but the device doesn't boot, back to three colors screen, or white screen with error message if trying to boot normally
I tried task29: full of errors, not better after flashing a ROM
I tried flashing a shipped "official" ROM => same as custom ROM, says success, flashed through SD card, but never boots to something else than 3 colors screen..
I tried factory reset, said successful, but still no boot!!
I tried flashing a Radio ROM=> flash successful, but still no boot
I tried flashing HSPL again, 2.08 and previous versions: it flashes OK, can see the changes in three colours screen, but no success flashing a ROM after
I noticed that sometimes, this HD2 vibrates 7 times quickly in a row, which my own HD2 had never done, and I suppose it's a very bad signal
I'm not a noob at all, but really can't follow every thread, and tried the search function with no real luck.
Is this HD2 definitly bricked? Is there something I can do?
Sorry again to seem so noob, I would have flammed someone posting like me, when I was following HD2 development everyday, before having my Sensation (and a Moto Defy for my wife)
see the line ''SPL-2.08.00 8G XE'' (you actually mean 2.08.0000) well teh .0000 tells you its NOT hspl, its a stock spl, so nothing will flash.
run hspl 2,3 or 4 and choose ''2.08.hspl''. Flashing, task29, magldr, all that will now flash.
THANKS!
how stupide I am (or too long away from WinMo)
I had tried hspl2 that was unable to do the job, hspl4 did it
So now I have spl 2.08.hspl
...but face other problem:
task29 fails: it launches OK but my HD2 disconnects from USB as soon as task29 starts its process
if I try to flash a custom ROM (the dutty one my own HD2 is still using), via usb, same, usb disconnects (it wasn't before I flashes hspl 2.08)
If I try flashing as a LEOIMG with microSD, it feezes at about 2/3 of the process
trying to flash a shipped ROM leads to errors, back to three colors screen with "Upgrade ROM code error Please try again"
...not to mention each time it replaces the hspl by stock spl
Any idea?

don't run flashes from running winmo, enter bootloader manually, when serial --> usb, run your flash/task29 or whatever. (Gorget about task29, it isnt necessary)
alternatively, if you do run it from running winmo, then once the phone has restarted and the usb has timed out, simply run teh flash program again, and dont touch teh phone, since it will now be in bootloader, and my above note takes over.

because that's the way to remove hspl, , flash a stock rom from sd. Step 1 of sd flashing is the spl gets flashed, removing hspl, the phone then restarts and tries to flash the stock rom, but now that hspl has gone it fails, since you aren't using the correct stock rom for that particular phone.
Try this, get the stock 3.14 rom ( filename will be RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship )
EDIT - you dont have a tmous, right? if you do, dont do this!)
phone into bootloader
use hspl4 to set 3.03.hspl
phone into bootloader
flash the 3.14 rom over usb.
report back.
Man, I'm on the good way!
3.03.hspl seems to be the key, when 20.8hspl wasn't
While the stock 3.14 ROM finished to download, I could run a Task29 till the end, no more USB disconnecting.
Crossing fingers!
I'll edit this post once I've tried to flash the stock 3.14 ROM
Huge thanks to you !!!!
2.x spl is not a stock spl for regular hd2's, only tmous, so whilst it does work, it does introduce the odd problem. for example you cant sd flash stock roms with 1.x versions when you are currently on 2.x.
SO, with a regular hd2, any time you wanna return to stock or are having flashing troubles of some kind, it is always worth using hspl.exe (2,3 or 4 , doesnt matter) to remove the 2.x spl/hspl.
For me, I always go back to 1.66.0000 using hspl2 before i even try to flash a stock rom. Since i choose a 0000 ending, it will be updated as required by the stock rom.
Fingers crossed it helped.

[Q] MAGLDR stuck

Hello,
there are a lot of similar topic but none of them answered my question.
General situation looks like this:
after flashing with MAGLDR device is stuck on htc splash screen and doesn't respond to any button
What was already done:
- initially, device had factory 3.14.x WWE ROM with 2.15.50.14 radio. SPL was changed with DFT tool to HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR was flashed with no problems (tried it few times)
Since that didn't worked, this is what I did:
- I recall reading that if someone has 3.14.x ROM then he/she must downgrade to ROM with 1.66.x or 1.72.xx. So I did that with factory ROM, (what struct me is that the SPL wasn't changed), flashed 2.15.50.14 radio, tried MAGLDR 1.13 once again. That didn't work
- since, SPL wasn't changed with official ROM I thought this is the issue here, so I've change it to SPL 3.03 back again and flashed 1.66.x official ROM. Flash procedure did change to SPL 1.42. I changed it to 2.08HSPL with DMT tool once again, 2.15.50.14 radio was flashed, then MAGLDR. It also gets stuck on splash screen.
- Next I've read that something called Task29 will probably fix my issue. So.. I've flashed with original 3.14.x ROM and then went with the process once again but I've run Task29 tool between changing SPL to HSPL 2.08 and flashing MAGLDR. That didn't work either
Additional observations:
- I've changed HSPL 2.08 to SPL 2.08, after that running any flash procedure (MAGLDR or official ROM), will effect with 0% progress
- changing to SPL 3.03 will cure above (at least for official ROM)
- in RUU tool the previous version is never seen (on the screen when you confirm update)
Every procedure was done according to newbie guides available on this forum, I've experience with flashing other OS on couple of HD2 devices, but that is the first one that gives me a hard time.
Any suggestion what I should do next?
forget about continually flashing various stock roms, its not necessary.
forget what's gone before, do this and report back.
Phone into bootloader
connect usb, When 'serial' becomes 'usb' continue.
run hspl4 and choose 2.08.hspl
when it completes go immediately back into bootloader
flash magldr
straight back into bootloader
flash radio 2.15.50
let the phone restart.
report back.

that behavour is expected when either spl ISN'T 2.08.hspl and/or radio isn't correct. The only other reason for magldr not showing up must be a faulty device.
Well... I can flash it with every HTC official ROM, and it works, calls can be made, wifi works fine, no spontaneous reboots or freezes...
Made two other observations:
1. On the device that is stuck on splash screen there is an additional bar in boot loader saying "Security unlocked", just like in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501745
2. I've started to look at different boot loader screens across the net, and it seems that majority of them has HX-BC (mine has different) version after the board PB81100 name. I've also compared bootloader screen after changing SPL to HSPL 2.08 on two different devices. The values before and after CotullaHSPL were different.
What should I do now? Searching for a method to remove that "Security unlocked" string or give up since the version of my board won't be able to run MAGLDR?
My device is not TMOUS, it is 512MB device.
Edit: after some research I think that my device has NAND-Flash ROM from Samsung not Hynix, so different flash algorithm should be used. I'm now going for a low-level research. If that is the case, than I think MAGLDR needs version 1.14 ... will report later.
