[Q] MAGLDR does not start, and stucks the device

Hi guys. Thanks everyone for the wonderful work you all do.
Today I wanted to try for the first time to flash some NAND stuff.
I installed cLK, then I thought it would have been better MAGLDR so i tried to install it just after cLK.
After the installation, the phone just does not show the MAGLDR boot screen. It stucks at the HTC green logo (of course i keep the power button pressed). The previous working WM rom does not boot.
The only solution i found, is to flash again a wimo rom through ruu_update, from the bootloader (i have hspl4), then I can begin again but MAGLDR will anyway not install properly.
Do you have any suggestion? Thanks.

Sounds like yet another case of not having both spl 2.08.hspl AND an android compatible radio. (2.15.50 for example)
as comes up daily, magldr WILL NOT START without both those criteria filled. It will simply hang on the bootscreen.

I had Spl 3.03, I understood that MAGLDR would require 2.08 or above. Radio, is exactely the 2.15.50. What should i do now?

wrong, magldr requires 2.08.hspl ONLY. no other will work.

[Q] HTC HD 2 Boot hangs at HTC Logo after installing MAGLDR

Hello,
I followed this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7909725&postcount=2 With extreme caution, and after I installed HSPL I went installing MAGLDR it all installed fine. And it booted again, but ik kept hanging at the HTC Logo.
Please help me. I seriously do not know what I need to do now !

edit: was waiting for your response, but now m sleeeeeepy. so at this moment all i can say is revert to your windows mobile OS or try a smaller android rom like tytung rom which doesnt need so much flashing instruction..

yawwwwwwn, , , magldr wont start unless spl is ONLY 2.08.hspl, no other will do. 3.03.hspl is wrong, anything except 2.08.hspl is wrong.
AND AND AND AND AND AND AND
radio MUST be a x.xx.50.x tmous radio (2.15.50 for example)
if either is wrong, magldr wont appear.
Enter bootloader
if spl doesnt = 2.08.hspl then change it to 2.08.hspl
if spl IS 2.08.hspl then get radio 2.15.50 and flash it.
Reboot, magldr will start.
( I yawwwwned because this gets asked and answered EVERY DAY, and it tells you about teh spl AND radio in magldr thread post 1, , ,you DID read teh magldr opening posts, right? you didnt just flash some unknown software because some video said to?? hehehe)

MAGLDR doesn't replace OSPL/HSPL. It runs in the chain after. So it's safe to install and remove it.
You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!

V1.13 added AD Recovery support, fixed few bugs.
Installation:
You need radio which support 576 RAM.

[Q]Help: is this HD2 dead?

First, sorry if I post the kind of question that has been already asked 1000 times, I'll understand if my post is deleted.
here is the story: I still have an HD2, but got a Sensation almost one year ago.
Now my HD2 is still WinMo 6.5 with Android from the SD card.
Yesterday, one of my pupils (yes, I'm a teacher, and my pupils know I'm into smartphones....!) gave me his HD2 because his father kinda bricked it.
I haven't been using my HD2 or reading XDA HD2 section or a long time (I'm too busy flashing my Sensation, so reading Sensation threads ), but I thought I could give it a try to unbrick it, I'm not a noob after all (selfish guy!!!!!!!!!)
I think this HD2 was somehow bricked while trying to install Android into NAND, or installing MAGDLR, as far as my pupil can tell from his dad
So this Sensation can't boot and has this, written in the 3 colours screen

Here is the state I had this HD2, unable to boot, just able to get into bootloader with the message above.
I tried to flash latest Dutty ROM (because I was using Dutty creme of the creme at my HD2 time!)
=> through USB, flash freezes sometimes at 2%, sometimes 75%
=> through SD card: it flashes, says it's successful, but the device doesn't boot, back to three colors screen, or white screen with error message if trying to boot normally
I tried task29: full of errors, not better after flashing a ROM
I tried flashing a shipped "official" ROM => same as custom ROM, says success, flashed through SD card, but never boots to something else than 3 colors screen..
I tried factory reset, said successful, but still no boot!!
I tried flashing a Radio ROM=> flash successful, but still no boot
I tried flashing HSPL again, 2.08 and previous versions: it flashes OK, can see the changes in three colours screen, but no success flashing a ROM after
I noticed that sometimes, this HD2 vibrates 7 times quickly in a row, which my own HD2 had never done, and I suppose it's a very bad signal
I'm not a noob at all, but really can't follow every thread, and tried the search function with no real luck.
Is this HD2 definitly bricked? Is there something I can do?
Sorry again to seem so noob, I would have flammed someone posting like me, when I was following HD2 development everyday, before having my Sensation (and a Moto Defy for my wife)

see the line ''SPL-2.08.00 8G XE'' (you actually mean 2.08.0000) well teh .0000 tells you its NOT hspl, its a stock spl, so nothing will flash.
run hspl 2,3 or 4 and choose ''2.08.hspl''. Flashing, task29, magldr, all that will now flash.

don't run flashes from running winmo, enter bootloader manually, when serial --> usb, run your flash/task29 or whatever. (Gorget about task29, it isnt necessary)
alternatively, if you do run it from running winmo, then once the phone has restarted and the usb has timed out, simply run teh flash program again, and dont touch teh phone, since it will now be in bootloader, and my above note takes over.

not a good sign, but ignore that for now.

because that's the way to remove hspl, , flash a stock rom from sd. Step 1 of sd flashing is the spl gets flashed, removing hspl, the phone then restarts and tries to flash the stock rom, but now that hspl has gone it fails, since you aren't using the correct stock rom for that particular phone.
Try this, get the stock 3.14 rom ( filename will be RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship )
EDIT - you dont have a tmous, right? if you do, dont do this!)
phone into bootloader
use hspl4 to set 3.03.hspl
phone into bootloader
flash the 3.14 rom over usb.
report back.

3.03.hspl seems to be the key, when 20.8hspl wasn't
While the stock 3.14 ROM finished to download, I could run a Task29 till the end, no more USB disconnecting.

2.x spl is not a stock spl for regular hd2's, only tmous, so whilst it does work, it does introduce the odd problem. for example you cant sd flash stock roms with 1.x versions when you are currently on 2.x.
SO, with a regular hd2, any time you wanna return to stock or are having flashing troubles of some kind, it is always worth using hspl.exe (2,3 or 4 , doesnt matter) to remove the 2.x spl/hspl.
For me, I always go back to 1.66.0000 using hspl2 before i even try to flash a stock rom. Since i choose a 0000 ending, it will be updated as required by the stock rom.
Fingers crossed it helped.

Seemed to have Bricked my HD2 migrating to Andriod, HELP

Ok I was moving over Andriod from WM65 Energy rom and started to install the MAGLDR and it seemed to load up fine! But once I rebooted, I just get the Energy ROM screen and it won't go further.
Even if I put it back in to BootLoad mode I can't get ActiveSync to connect to continue!
Any ideas?

WinMo ROMs and Android ROMs need different SPL versions. You should reset your HD2 using this step by step guide: http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/01/01/how-to-upgrade-htc-hd2-rom-through-sd-card-video/
You should take the latest stock ROM available, since this includes the latest Radio ROM which you need to run most Android ROMs. Afterwards I suggest installing HSPL2.08 and MAGLDR, CWM again.

Ok, I downloaded the stock rom and extracted the RUU and renamed to leoimg.nbh and did the bootloader thing and it didn't work!
What do I try next?
I know I've had to do the Task29 before when it got like this. Is that what I need to do again?

no need for task29.
there are two 'musts' for magldr to work
1 spl MUST be 2.08.hspl ONLY, no other will work.
In bootloader, does teh spl line say 2.08.hspl? no? magldr will not appear, even though it is flashed ok.
2 radio MUST be one that is compatible with the fabled 576meg ram trick, or to put it another way, it must be compatible with tmous phones, or a third way, it must be a x.xx.50. version radio, not a x.xx.51. version. Also, 2.05.50 and 2.06.50 will not work either. The one that came with your phone wont work, (assuming you don't have a tmous, if you DO have a tmous, you dont need to change radio.)
For ease, go flash radio 2.15.50
When both these conditions are met, and only then, magldr will start.
So, as you are now, ,
phone into bootloader
flash 2.08.hspl
phone back into bootloader
flash radio 2.15.50
back into bootloader
flash magldr
restart.

I believe this is my problem! A while back I mistakenly thought HSPL 3 was an updated version so I put it on. It is the SPL-3.03.HSPL. I'm not sure how to get it off and it doesn't seem to connect via activestink and it doesn't seem to wanna upgade off my card. leoimg.nbh is in root and booted in to bootload mode!

Just go back to the boot loader, connect your PC via USB and flash HSPL 2.08 over again. The HSPL application scans which SPL is installed and provides you the SPLs you can flash. 2.08HSPL is your choice.
Also search for radio master thread for HD2 in this forum, download and flash latest radio ROM.

You arent thinking right about exactly what hspl2, 3 and 4 are. There was no need to even use hspl2, hspl4 can set 2.08.hspl
hspl2 hspl3 and hspl4 aren't different 'versions' of hspl in the way you think, , selecting 2.08.hspl using hspl2 or hspl3 or hspl4 gives the very same 2.08.hspl, no difference. The .exe's are just loader programs, the only difference between them is the phone models and spl's each supports. so when you went to stock and no doubt ended up with spl 3.03.0000 hspl2 wouldnt work because it requires a starting spl of 2.08 or lower, as does hspl3.
using hspl4 does work, because it was released for just that reason, to support spl 3.03, its not 'better' or a higher version than hspl3, its just been tweaked to support more spl's.

[Q] help needed,, my htc hd2 doesnot boot up! pls HELP

I bought an HTC HD2 FEW WEEKS BACK FROM ONE OF MY FRIEND.
I DO NOT HAVE THE HISTORY OF WHAT HE TRIED TO DO WITH IT.
BUT BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK/DEAD , HE GAVE TO ME FOR CHEAP.
NOW THIS PHONE IS UNDER WARRANTY TILL AUG-2012 AND IS FROM VODAFONE.
(EVEN AFTER INSTALLING ANDROID IT IS VOID)
HE MUST HAVE TRIED SEVERAL ROM/HSPL TO GET TO THIS POINT.
PROBLEM:
When I power up the phone, it displays a NRG LOGO SCREEN (energize software), and it gets stuck on it forever.
When I do hold the power down button, then it comes up with the three colour screen and it says SPL-2.08.0000, AND also says rom update failed (only if i try to install and then start up)
The phone does connect through USB when it is on the three colour screen, but it does not let me install the rom or the spl...
I have tried literally every single step possible. I have tried to do task 29, i have tried install the original rom, i have tried to put the rom in the sd card and try it that way..
Some times after several hundred attempts, it does let me change the spl... as it was displaying 3.... before then i changed to 1.4..... and then to 2.08...
All i want to do is to get rid of the NRG SCREEN, so i could send to the htc ,, for repair ( i know that it is not under warranty if i used andriod, but they will not know) .. or is there any way to completely format the phone,,, is there any solution to install andriod or microsoft? pls help

The nrg screen shouldn't be a problem, but spl 2.x will definitely be refused, since spl 2.x is only for t mo USA hd2's.
As for "spl 2.08.0000 and software update failed",, someone tried to flash a non matching rom from SD whilst hspl was installed, result, hspl removed, stock tmous spl installed which then checks your phone vs the rom, finds a mismatch and gives software iupdate failed.
it wont boot because there is no rom to boot, it was wiped at the start of the flash.
Here's what I'd do
First to be sure its really broke (from your description there are a half dozen reasons why it wont start)
Use hspl4 to set spl 3.03.hspl NOT 3.03.0000
flash the wwe 3.14 rom from USB.
Alternatively, to make the phone warranty safe, again set spl 3.03.hspl (or 1.42.hspl or 1.66.hspl,, note that at no time am I using 2.08 or 2.10 spl) flash a stock splashscreen (several threads available)
Then use hspl2 again but this time choose the same spl but ending 0000.
Its the spl that is the real key, people have sent back hd2s with cooked roms and splashscreens, and no problems, but send a regular hd2 back with a spl that reads "x.xx.hspl " or any spl/hspl starting 2.x and they will refuse
Just cos it used to have android on doesn't mean a thing, they can't tell.

Now it has successfully flashed the 3.03 hspl...
Now the problem is after that.. when I flash the rom I.e 3.14xxxx pr 2.10xxx it will just start as usual and when it reaches 99%, it gets stuck and then the error box opens up.. after the recovery, the same thing happens over and over again.. these are the original from but I have also tried other roms and they stuck at different %s

Shame, Well, I guess the splashscreen is back to stock now? In which case remove hspl (set it to 1/3.xx.0000) and it will be warranty safe.

I have the same problem ! I have intalled the NRG Rom for HD2 Leo EU and every thing was good it works smooth, by i have download an app form Google Play "Beats Audio" with make somethin wrong with the drivers of DSP and HTC Music so i decide to re install the Rom and i fallow the steps for that i make a partitation for 200mb and then do the other steps...but at the end when i install the NRG Rom and start it for first time it freez on the NRG ENERGIZE logo saying "Please wait..." i wait for 30 min nothing... What can i do ???
