[Q] HTC HD 2 Boot hangs at HTC Logo after installing MAGLDR - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello,
I followed this guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7909725&postcount=2 With extreme caution, and after I installed HSPL I went installing MAGLDR it all installed fine. And it booted again, but ik kept hanging at the HTC Logo.
Please help me. I seriously do not know what I need to do now !
Thanks in advance

edit: was waiting for your response, but now m sleeeeeepy. so at this moment all i can say is revert to your windows mobile OS or try a smaller android rom like tytung rom which doesnt need so much flashing instruction..

yawwwwwwn, , , magldr wont start unless spl is ONLY 2.08.hspl, no other will do. 3.03.hspl is wrong, anything except 2.08.hspl is wrong.
AND AND AND AND AND AND AND
radio MUST be a x.xx.50.x tmous radio (2.15.50 for example)
if either is wrong, magldr wont appear.
Enter bootloader
if spl doesnt = 2.08.hspl then change it to 2.08.hspl
if spl IS 2.08.hspl then get radio 2.15.50 and flash it.
Reboot, magldr will start.
( I yawwwwned because this gets asked and answered EVERY DAY, and it tells you about teh spl AND radio in magldr thread post 1, , ,you DID read teh magldr opening posts, right? you didnt just flash some unknown software because some video said to?? hehehe)

MAGLDR 1.13
After long (about 4 months) under awful developing, DFT proudly presents MAGLDR bootloader - The first bootloader with built-in Tetris!
LEO512 and LEO1024 are supported both.
MAGLDR doesn't replace OSPL/HSPL. It runs in the chain after. So it's safe to install and remove it.
You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!
History:
V1.11 fixed "GO GO GO stuck issue".
V1.12 added WPH support.
V1.13 added AD Recovery support, fixed few bugs.
Installation:
You need radio which support 576 RAM.
Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and install it.

(sorry for the sarcasm, its aimed not just at you, but at every person who has asked this same question in the past 6 months )

or you may have forgotten to run the DAF file as per the instructions

Thanks samsamuel, your accurate description showed up nicely in search and solved my problem. Man I just love this forum!

[Q] How to install MAGLDR for installing Android 2.2 or 2.3 on HD2?

I read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893620
about how to install android 2.2 on HD2, but I can not get MAGLDR 1.13 installed first. I downloaded the package and ran ROMUpdateUtility.exe, it says updating ROM verion 3.14.831.3 to 2.00.000.0, I proceed with next, then the phone went to 4-colour screen mode, shows SPL version is 3.03. Later on, it goes to black screen with only HTC logo the 0% progress bar on. Few minutes later, the installation on my computer said error[262], update error.
I wasn't sure if I need to downgrade the SPL to 2.08, as people said in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829954 it does not matter.
My HD2 has the lastest rom listed on HTC - HongKong English support site.
Please advise what I need to do to get MAGLDR installed?
Thank you.
That thread is from before MAGLDR even existed. You need 2.08.HSPL to flash MAGLDR.
You can get all the info you need here .

Thanks for your reply.
I just got the HSPL4 and installed the 2.08.000, not 2.08 SPL on my HD2.
But when I tried to install the MAGLDR 1.13 again, it did the same thing again, it goes to black screen with only HTC logo the 0% progress bar on. Few minutes later, the installation on my computer said error[262], update error.
Any idea?
It seems I need to install 2.08 SPL, not 2.08.000 in HSPL4.
It works fine now.
u need 2.08HSPL and a 576mb ram radio..

[Q] how do you activate the htc hd2 ram

I have 448mb ram on my htc hd2 and I heard that it actually has 576mb of ram but it is not activated. I need 576mb of ram in order to install MAGLDR.
so can someone please help and tell me how to activate the 576MB of RAM
thanks in advance
Installed software on phone:
ROM: 3.14.405.2 (04666) WWE
RADIO: 2.15.50.14
HSPL: 3.03.0000
I need 576mb of ram in order to install MAGLDR

Not correct.
Magldr will activate the ram for you, you don't need to activate it in advance, and indeed if you did activate it (tmous based rom plus 2.08.50 radio or higher) then flashing magldr will remove the rom that activated it in the first place.
So long as you have a correct radio (2.08.50.x or higher) then magldr will work and the ram unlocked. Without the correct radio magldr wont start till you have flashed correct radio.
I have 3.14 rom and radio 2.15.50 would that work???
Where can I download tmous based rom plus 2.08.50 radio or higher???

The radio you have will work, just flash MAGLDR and then flash CWM (look in the ROM thread foe CWM portition size) and then flash your ROM. Click the guide linked in my sig for more assistance, look for the two complete how to install Android guides I have linked at the top of my guide.

HSPL???
Sent From My Fingers To Your Face.....
i think it is normal for the device to get stuck on the htc splash screen after installing magldr...
this is because magldr is just a LOADER...your device still needs a ROM (which was removed when you install magldr)...after flashing magldr, you need to boot into magldr (turn on device and keep holding down the power on button until magldr appears). then, you need to go to the section in magldr for flashing a magldr compatible ROM. just read the stickies, you will find a guide in there that describes ALL of these steps in much more detail.

No MAGLDR is the ROM on the HD2 until it has a Android or WP7 ROM to boot. So until you give MAGLDR a ROM to flash your HD2 will boot straight into the MAGLDR menu and that is it. The OP is saying that MAGLDR is not even booting up.
At the OP if you have a 2.15.50.xx radio and HSPL 2.08 on your HD2 you should not be having a problem. But like Canontroutman said if you do not have HSPL 2.08 then this is probably your problem. I was under the impression though that if you did not have HSPL 2.08 that MAGLDR would not flash. Which now that I think about it sounds like what is happening to the OP. I just thought you would get a error message from the RUU.

[Q] MAGLDR does not start, and stucks the device

Hi guys. Thanks everyone for the wonderful work you all do.
Today I wanted to try for the first time to flash some NAND stuff.
I installed cLK, then I thought it would have been better MAGLDR so i tried to install it just after cLK.
After the installation, the phone just does not show the MAGLDR boot screen. It stucks at the HTC green logo (of course i keep the power button pressed). The previous working WM rom does not boot.
The only solution i found, is to flash again a wimo rom through ruu_update, from the bootloader (i have hspl4), then I can begin again but MAGLDR will anyway not install properly.
Do you have any suggestion? Thanks.
Sounds like yet another case of not having both spl 2.08.hspl AND an android compatible radio. (2.15.50 for example)
as comes up daily, magldr WILL NOT START without both those criteria filled. It will simply hang on the bootscreen.
thanks for the info.
I had Spl 3.03, I understood that MAGLDR would require 2.08 or above. Radio, is exactely the 2.15.50. What should i do now?
wrong, magldr requires 2.08.hspl ONLY. no other will work.
from magldr thread, post 1 line 4......

[Q] No Bootloader Menu after reboot

Hi folks,
I tried to flash my HTC HD2 for the first time. Read /watched different guides. In first 2 steps they were all the same:
- install HSPL
- instal MAGLDR
Done both, got positive responses on both.
BUT: after rebooting after installing MAGLDR I do not manage to get the bootloader screen. There´s just a white screen with green htc logo on it and nothing else happens.
Yes, I held the power button after reboot; about 1 min long. Nothing.
If I hold volume down button after reboot the stripey screen appears like after the HSPL installation. But there is also no menu.
Also tried to proceeed task29 with the HD2 Android NAND Toolkit. Got positive response there too and after this I begann from scratch. With the same results.
Does anyone have a clue what I made wrong or forgot?
Or a hint what to do now?
best regards
M.
What version hspl n magldr?
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
and radio,
hspl MUST be 2.08.hspl ONLY
radio MUST be 2.xx.50.xx
Got hspl version 2.08.hspl from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
got MAGLDR version 1.13 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893618
cant remember the full radio version but I checked it before starting and it fits to requirements.
But I´m a few steps forward...
Meanwhile I flashed the newest Original HTC HD Win Mobile 6.5 ROM so phone boots up again
After that I installed HSPL version 2.08.0000 (now I know that was a failure) an tried again to install MAGLDR. But the progress bar doesn´t move - neither on PC nor on phone...
So I first will try to install again HSPL like samsamuel said and try again with MAGLDR
[EDIT]
Radio Version is now 2.15.50.14
SOLVED
Don´t know why but after dooing all step again (after falshing new HTC ROM) all ist ok and android is booting...
I think something was not in expected version on my old ROM on the phone. Never made an update before. So I recommend to do this before starting with all other

the only regular hd2 stock rom that includes a magldr compatible radio is 3.14, so if the ''old rom'' you flashed was any other version, it will have also flashed a non magldr radio, which is why it happened. (I suspect).
Sorted now,
the same problem
Hi,
I have the same problem.
Just white screen with green HTC mark.
But I'm not shure how to flesh win mobile again, because I cannot connect my HTC HD2 via USB (PC doesn't recognise the phone).
tnx
Hey MiMo,
Could you please post links and steps to help myself and anyone else looking on how to fix this?
by links I mean can I have the stock rom you used and the radios and such
Thank you.

[Q] MAGLDR stuck

Hello,
there are a lot of similar topic but none of them answered my question.
General situation looks like this:
after flashing with MAGLDR device is stuck on htc splash screen and doesn't respond to any button
What was already done:
- initially, device had factory 3.14.x WWE ROM with 2.15.50.14 radio. SPL was changed with DFT tool to HSPL 2.08, MAGLDR was flashed with no problems (tried it few times)
Since that didn't worked, this is what I did:
- I recall reading that if someone has 3.14.x ROM then he/she must downgrade to ROM with 1.66.x or 1.72.xx. So I did that with factory ROM, (what struct me is that the SPL wasn't changed), flashed 2.15.50.14 radio, tried MAGLDR 1.13 once again. That didn't work
- since, SPL wasn't changed with official ROM I thought this is the issue here, so I've change it to SPL 3.03 back again and flashed 1.66.x official ROM. Flash procedure did change to SPL 1.42. I changed it to 2.08HSPL with DMT tool once again, 2.15.50.14 radio was flashed, then MAGLDR. It also gets stuck on splash screen.
- Next I've read that something called Task29 will probably fix my issue. So.. I've flashed with original 3.14.x ROM and then went with the process once again but I've run Task29 tool between changing SPL to HSPL 2.08 and flashing MAGLDR. That didn't work either
Additional observations:
- I've changed HSPL 2.08 to SPL 2.08, after that running any flash procedure (MAGLDR or official ROM), will effect with 0% progress
- changing to SPL 3.03 will cure above (at least for official ROM)
- in RUU tool the previous version is never seen (on the screen when you confirm update)
Every procedure was done according to newbie guides available on this forum, I've experience with flashing other OS on couple of HD2 devices, but that is the first one that gives me a hard time.
Any suggestion what I should do next?
forget about continually flashing various stock roms, its not necessary.
forget what's gone before, do this and report back.
Phone into bootloader
connect usb, When 'serial' becomes 'usb' continue.
run hspl4 and choose 2.08.hspl
when it completes go immediately back into bootloader
flash magldr
straight back into bootloader
flash radio 2.15.50
let the phone restart.
report back.

if what the friend above suggested doesnt work, then give us the details about your device. i have a Tmous and im in Europe and went through hell until i got it right...if you do it then flashing the rom you want is a piece of cake!

Did that, phone had initially SPL 1.42 and 1.66.x ROM. I didn't let him boot between steps, just went to bootloader each time... and I'm still stuck at splash screen with no response to any key.

that behavour is expected when either spl ISN'T 2.08.hspl and/or radio isn't correct. The only other reason for magldr not showing up must be a faulty device.
Well... I can flash it with every HTC official ROM, and it works, calls can be made, wifi works fine, no spontaneous reboots or freezes...
Made two other observations:
1. On the device that is stuck on splash screen there is an additional bar in boot loader saying "Security unlocked", just like in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501745
2. I've started to look at different boot loader screens across the net, and it seems that majority of them has HX-BC (mine has different) version after the board PB81100 name. I've also compared bootloader screen after changing SPL to HSPL 2.08 on two different devices. The values before and after CotullaHSPL were different.
What should I do now? Searching for a method to remove that "Security unlocked" string or give up since the version of my board won't be able to run MAGLDR?
My device is not TMOUS, it is 512MB device.
Edit: after some research I think that my device has NAND-Flash ROM from Samsung not Hynix, so different flash algorithm should be used. I'm now going for a low-level research. If that is the case, than I think MAGLDR needs version 1.14 ... will report later.
