Is there a way I can enable boot sounds on my a500?
Unfortunately no. Boot sounds are not currently supported by 3.x (honeycomb).

Hey guys, android.git.kernel.org is currently down because it got hacked, and now I have no way to get the android 3.1 source code. Does ANYONE know ANY OTHER WAY to get it? I'm leaning how to create a ROM but I cant if this doesn't work...
android 3.1 source code has not been released.
you can find the GPL bits from opensource.samsung.com

If I'm not mistaken, I have to fork the gingerbread source then overwrite the stuff with the downloaded stuff from opensource.samsung.net, correct?
You will not be able to get a working rom image to be flashed in that fashion.
HC is closed src, for the most part.

How would I be able to get a working rom image of HC?
from source, you cannot.
in binary form, take a CWM backup of your system.

So I would make a backup of my tablet on the source rom and just edit it that way?

you can use baksmali/smali/hex edit, to accomplish a small portion.

Soled? What does that mean?
Also kernel went from 2.x to 3.x version numbering without any special changes/features. It was just time to go to 3.x die tp 2.x being quite old. It's not like it's any different.

plz read changelog of kernel on kernel.org ....
Does the Nvidia Shield TV support EXT2, 3, or 4?
As far as I can tell none of the above
http://support-shield.nvidia.com/android-tv-user-guide/index.htm#t=How_to_Use_a_Micro_SD_Card.htm
Possible using a custom ROM will allow other formats

Yeah, some of the custom ROMs may have a kernel that supports it already, haven't tried
But you could build your own too

Title. These builds are an extreme work in progress, and not guaranteed to boot at all. This post will be updated with links periodically.
Wow tranks continue :good:

yes these test builds will be for j7ltespr. i've released a new TWRP with all bugs fixed, but I need to get the stock ROM booting on the kernel before making test builds.
I love you in a technological way dude. Since I still have that phone and have my old phone (LG Volt) back. I am more than happy to test and give results

J700P only, sorry.
I found very stable and smooth android pie experience ROM called AOSiP on 4pda. Everything seems to work like f2fs, casting and kernel mode is in enforcing status.

There's an update to this ROM from a different user: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nHlYw0GZNFi9M7z56qTN3k4i1RRUPb0q/view?usp=drivesdk
Face unlock is fixed on this build, if it matters.
