Some HD2 SD/NAND Questions

Hi
I used to use AmericAndroid from copenhagen and warren.
I would really like to switch over to NAND.
Is it genereally possible to put this SD-Build on NAND? technically I think it should be?
It is compatible to MAGLDR (AD SD)
How would I do this?
How big is HD2's NAND?
What are the advantages/disadvantages/risks?
I know the following:
+SD-Builds most likely crash when removing SDCard (as they loose access to theri root partition)
+Access to system is faster as NAND is faster than normal microSD-Cards
+SD-Builds do many writeoperations to SD-Cards which is harmful to them.
-NAND is definitely smaller than usual SD-data-images
*If you are not able to flash anymore (e.g. volumebutton fail) and need service you're definitely out of warranty
Can anyone help me out please?
Well from what i hear nand is faster, but SD can be used to dualboot More than one OS on your phone, are you looking to dualboot?
I am currently using MagLdr to load my android so I cannot boot into my WinMo 6.5 at all. Further there is no reason for me to want it back else than Internet-Sharing. As I got the Data-Problem fixed for me by adding DNS-Settings to build.prop there is not in any way a need for me to boot windows.

[Q] CWR

Hi all. Please forgive the noob questions.
Question #1. I was under the impression that CWR is better than DAF because it allows you to have different ROMS on your sd card and thus you can change your ROM as you like. My question is then if I have to task 29 and reformat and repartition my card as the developers request, then how is this possible as I would be wiping my sd card clean everytime I do this.
Question #2. Must I run the DAF(recovery) prior to every change in ROM? Also what is the differecnce between the Recovery and partitioning your card. Again I am not experienced even though I flash all the time.
The reason I ask is that I would like to change ROMS and wonder if I can just go from my cureent ROM, reboot and install from zip a totally different one that I have on my card. Thanks in advance.
you dont have to task29 every time., i have never used task29 and never had any issues with repationing or installing roms
the repartitionining is a pain but thats mainly only if you are going from 1 type to a different type e.g a sense rom to a cm7 or miui rom

Hi,
As Richy99 says ,task 29 is not necessary for every change of ROM.
To simplify matters, ksubedi has developed THIS TOOL (Don't forget to thank him)

So I can just repartition the card and not have to run Recovery(DAF in the rar)? Then istall from zip? I am going from a sense to MUI.

Hi,
You only need to partition the sd card once.
But the ROM system needs its own partition(CWM).
This partition is dependent on the ROM .
The [OP] should give the size of the partition, depending also on EU or TMOUS phones.
Again, once you know the partition size, use THIS TOOL to make it easy.

Thanks again for helping out. So I would need a comp to always run the recovery. Is it possible from the phone itself or am I just hoping and dreaming? You did clear up one thing for though. That both the card and rom need a partition with the ROM partition being the recovery file (DAF)in the rar.. Thanks.

Hi,
With HD2 you will never get away from PC/laptop,like on a native ANDROID device.
Check out the toolkit. It saves a lot of configuration...

dxdy said it. Any Windows Phone build must be installed and run from the NAND memory. So you could backup your Android system (with NANDroid), backup SD-card, and install WP the way you'd normally do it. You'd always have your Android build backed up and packed away. It's easy to restore it, if you don't like WP.
Other than that, the only way to dualboot the two systems is with SD Android and some special SD-partitions, as far as my knowledge goes to.

Move app to SD - WP7

Hello,
I just installed WP7 on HTC HD2, I tried to install some applications and memory is over.
How can I move applications from phone to sd card?
Sorry for my english
Thank you !
your SDcard not working (in WP7) if you dont have space... WP use SDcard as memory and SDcard must be in device when flashing ROM.... you cant put SDcard after WP7 flash... you must do hard reset or flash ROM again
read install tutorial from my signature or Pdaimatejam ROM download

Not noticed anyone else with this problem.
Have you tried another ROM? (use miui backup first)
If working on another rom then it is not your hardware at fault, it could be your partition size is too small. What is your install method, partition sizes, sd partition sizes and free space, phone type (eu or tmous), miui version, the more info you give, the better chance of a solution.

If dataonext, what is your system size?
When did you first notice these problems?
Info please.
BTW, the drivers should already be in the rom.

magdlr...Nativesd, 16gb sd card in that 2 gb ext for native sd.
after installing 2.3.7 miui.. that time itself not working...
Now i ve upgraded with 4.1.2 miui.. now also its not working...
Have you tried enabling Auto-rotate in settings/complete settings/display?
If so, I can only think it is hardware.
You might want to install stock wm6.5 to see if it works on a different OS, take care if using tmous hd2 which radio comes with your wm6.5 rom.
