compare it to another micro SD card, sounds like its buggered, look for signs of damage, you say you use a pin to remove card, do you push it in then it pops out, or do you kind of pick it out

Lost my SD card games.

My phone came with 8gb card in it. I purchased a few games and downloaded a bunch of free ones. I still have 4gb of space yet I can't download anything because the memory is full. I can't move anything else to the sd card because it's all grayed out. I have moved all the apps that would let me.
So I pulled the sd card out and none of my apps have icons anymore. I put the card back in and they didn't come back. Will I have to buy those games again? How do I get more games if the phone says no memory even though there is 4gb of space. The SD says un-mounted in the setting but when I click mount it says SD blank in the top left. When I look at the apps in the apps settings it shows things like Com.andoop.jailbreak and lest my uninstall but not install. They have little black icons instead of the game icons and it has a picture of the micro SD card on the icon.
I wanted to buy a bigger card but this is a nightmare.
Any help would be appreciated.
ye this sometimes happen with apps to sd
usually with the games there is a folder named downloads on the sd card the game apks should be in there, you should be able to reinstall em and it will pick up the old data files on the sd card
note that the sd card wont mount untill you put the case back on the fone as the case has a notch that presses a button to tell the fone that it can be remounted
Thanks
I have the case on but it is still saying blank.
I'll back everything up when I get home and format the card from the phone.

ok what make sd card is it?
do not buy a cheap micro sd card off ebay called memorette
i have had to of the fake cards of 2 different supliers
supposed to be 32gb class 10
turned out to be class 5 4gb
they show 32gb when inserted but if you try and put more than 4gb on it looks like it has transfered but when u mount card back to fone it all but vanished
have u tried putting card into pc/laptop with a usb adaptor?
if you do format the card copy the gameloft folder and the download folder to your pc/laptop first, saves you having to redownload
Thanks
it is the card that came with the phone. Upon closer inspection I seen a break in the SD Card. I will retun it to Rogers tomorrow. I'm going to go buy a new card. A 16 or 32 GB card.
If you an avid gamer I suggest you plump for a 32gb class 10
I've got 8gb of music 12gb of roms
3gb of game loft games
Plus 2gb of play station pocket games
N apps videos n pictures
It all adds up
Why buy a small card n upgrade later might as will do it now saves all the messing about imo
Sent from my R800i using XDA Premium App
lol reboot one or twice you should see everything coming back ...
The SD is not formated it's just that you removed it so android did a cleanup in the interface...
Reboot until you see everything back
and you can't check the content of your SD card or play your games when you are in mass storage mode... (the sd is being used by the computer)
It turned out that my SD card was broken. Of course my wireless provider would not replace it even though they installed it before I bought the phone.
I picked up a 16GB because that is all I could find. 32GB were expensive so I’m not sure I would have bought one if I had found one. You can close this topic you want.
Thanks

[Q] SD Card crashed?

You guys are the most helpful!
My 16gb sandisk micro sd card is no longer being recognized. I booted my HTC HD2 in Android and mounted the sd card to transfer pics to my pc. Just then I got a call coming in and the phone immediately became unresponsive. I kept getting the force close message but I couldn't stop it (it seemed to be in a loop) So I unsafely disconnected the phone from the pc, took out the battery and rebooted it. It started up in windows, but when I went to check for the sd card it could no longer be found. I pull out the card put it back more than twice, and yet the phone failed to recognize my memory card.
Please help me guys
put the sd card into a card reader, connect to your pc and if if its recognised there, it might be a dying card I've lost 1 16GB and an 8GB in 18 months with my hd2
If the pc recognises the card with no error save the date, reformat to primary partition fat 32 using Easeus free edition, also try the phone without the card
Thank u
Hey ..I really do appreciate the time u took to respond. Funny I was thinking the same thing....I broke my old card reader, now I have to get another another on from Amazon.com. As soon as I can lay my hands on one that is gonna be my first move.
Again, thanks a bunch.
P.S
Sadly I feel like an idiot for not backing up my sd card...(more than 3000 photos on there )

After trying the SD Card thru a card reader and if it still doesn't work/recognize it - then your mobile (hd2's)windows is corrupted - coz the same happened with me thrice and ultimately I took it back to the HTC service centre and they re installed the windows 6.5 and since then everythings is working normally and there is no problem with the SD Card anymore, but your old card becomes thrash and you'll have to get a new card :0)

Same here. Lost a sd-card recently but probably due to my own fault.
The card was difficult to get out of the reader (Yup, it seems there is some tolerance on the size) so I had to use some small tweezers.
I finally managed to get it out without any visual damage but after inserting it in the HD2 it couldn't see it anymore, neither in the cardreader afterwards.
What I think is that I had physically bent the card and broke the connections to the actual memory chip.
Some good advice on memory cards and I can't stress this out enough especially for dedicated photo equipment. Instead of buying a 16GB card buy 2 x 8GB and from a known seller and known brand.
The best and probably worst experience example that I can give is from a couple who were on their honeymoon and lost all of their pictures because of a el-cheapo 8GB memorycard.
For a phone it is something else but I made a custom out of it to create a map on my c-drive called sd-card phone. Ok it is not a every week copy but it is handy to have the data on my pc and on my phone.

serious prob with memory card slot

i m using hd2 from last one month....its tmous hd2...but now i m facing a very big problem with memory card slot...when i put my memory card in memory card slot...memory card not comes out its totally gone inside in slot and phone shows only phone memory free space..no memory card inserted.......then i have to eject mmc with a pin....plz help me...
I hope you're using MMC to refer to memory card, because I don't think you can use an MMC with HD2.
otherwise, inspect the slot and see if there's dirt inside that maybe blocking the pins. if there's not, send it to be serviced.

How much GB you see in Settings/About? If you see around 8 GB then most likely the card is faulty. Another reason you don't see the card is a faulty memory slot assembly.
I've build the Memory Card section in the Focus Wiki by reading the whole memory card thread so I can tell you that if a card isn't recognized it's most likely the card is damaged. But, it might not be, might just be totally incompatible.
Now, if it's not faulty, and the card is actually good (there are some chances), it should be okay as the phone didn't see it and thus didn't "lock" it.
To make sure, either format it in a Nokia Symbian phone (Series N or Series E - eg N9x: N95, N97 or E7x: E71 etc) that supports microSD memory cards or in a camera.

The memory card shouldn't affect device performance at all except if apps data is stored on it, only then you will be under the write speed limitation of the memory card.
About the temperature of the device, this is usually caused by higher frequencies of the CPU which is because of the operations done on the device which is usually unrelated to the memory card.
