My phone came with 8gb card in it. I purchased a few games and downloaded a bunch of free ones. I still have 4gb of space yet I can't download anything because the memory is full. I can't move anything else to the sd card because it's all grayed out. I have moved all the apps that would let me.
So I pulled the sd card out and none of my apps have icons anymore. I put the card back in and they didn't come back. Will I have to buy those games again? How do I get more games if the phone says no memory even though there is 4gb of space. The SD says un-mounted in the setting but when I click mount it says SD blank in the top left. When I look at the apps in the apps settings it shows things like Com.andoop.jailbreak and lest my uninstall but not install. They have little black icons instead of the game icons and it has a picture of the micro SD card on the icon.
I wanted to buy a bigger card but this is a nightmare.
Any help would be appreciated.
ye this sometimes happen with apps to sd
usually with the games there is a folder named downloads on the sd card the game apks should be in there, you should be able to reinstall em and it will pick up the old data files on the sd card
note that the sd card wont mount untill you put the case back on the fone as the case has a notch that presses a button to tell the fone that it can be remounted
Thanks
I have the case on but it is still saying blank.
I'll back everything up when I get home and format the card from the phone.

ok what make sd card is it?
do not buy a cheap micro sd card off ebay called memorette
i have had to of the fake cards of 2 different supliers
supposed to be 32gb class 10
turned out to be class 5 4gb
they show 32gb when inserted but if you try and put more than 4gb on it looks like it has transfered but when u mount card back to fone it all but vanished
have u tried putting card into pc/laptop with a usb adaptor?
if you do format the card copy the gameloft folder and the download folder to your pc/laptop first, saves you having to redownload
Thanks
it is the card that came with the phone. Upon closer inspection I seen a break in the SD Card. I will retun it to Rogers tomorrow. I'm going to go buy a new card. A 16 or 32 GB card.
If you an avid gamer I suggest you plump for a 32gb class 10
I've got 8gb of music 12gb of roms
3gb of game loft games
Plus 2gb of play station pocket games
N apps videos n pictures
It all adds up
Why buy a small card n upgrade later might as will do it now saves all the messing about imo

lol reboot one or twice you should see everything coming back ...
The SD is not formated it's just that you removed it so android did a cleanup in the interface...
Reboot until you see everything back
and you can't check the content of your SD card or play your games when you are in mass storage mode... (the sd is being used by the computer)
It turned out that my SD card was broken. Of course my wireless provider would not replace it even though they installed it before I bought the phone.
I picked up a 16GB because that is all I could find. 32GB were expensive so I’m not sure I would have bought one if I had found one. You can close this topic you want.
Thanks

i have all my apps and pics ringtones etc on my 16gb sd card... i want to use my other 16gb sd card to throw movies on. can i take out my 16gb card and put in my 16gb movies card and once done just reinsert my apps, rintones normal sd card and everything will be back to normal? what is the proper way of doing this so i don't wreck my proggies, and setup
thanks for any tips.
Apps: Dependant on whether you install them to the device or SD card. Nothing wrong with swapping cards even if they are installed on the SD card.
Pics: Almost definitely saved on SD card. It'll be okay if you swap it out. The photo tab will just reindex it when you swap it back later.
Ringtones: If used as a ringtone, Windows copies it to the device anyway, so you're good here.
Great News.. Thanks Alot
Ok, I have SPB backup to backup my device every morning at 2am. I have been doing this for the past few months, with no problems at all. Anyway this morning I woke up, and there was a message on the screen saying "backup unsuccessful" but the HD2 did soft reset, because I seen the splash screen for a few seconds.
Anyway I noticed that the wallpaper was not showing, and didn't think anything of it at first. But when I tried playing some music, my device didn't show the Micro SD card as being installed. So I popped the card out, and back in, and still the HD2 couldn't read it. Also under the "SD card & phone memory" it shows no SD card installed, even though the card it in the HD2.
Got home, and tried putting the Micro SD card in my PC, and even my PC won't read the card. Don't get any error messages, put it just shows nothing?
Bit gutted about this, as I had my last 3 backups on the SD card, along with other documents I need.
Suggestions please?
seems the hd2 is hard on memory cards. I scan and fix mine about 3x a week just to be sure. Since then I haven't had any problems.
My memory card would not allow me to add anything on to it.,.,pics I took wouldn't save and such.,I even tried it in a digital camera with the same results. I couldn't even format it on my PC.,just gave me an unsuccessful reply. One thing I did notice was I couldn't move certain stuff off the card (I think it was in opera) it would show me the file and when I tried to move it off the card it said the item no longer exists.,or something along those lines.,(sorry I'm at work and it's been a while since I have had this happen..,I could always reattempt and post results if you guys would like) I threw in an 8G card and everything has been fine.,but would really like my 16g card back

Gonna keep that in mind. Purchased a new 8GB card, but had to restart my phone from SCRATCH!
Hi
There is a quick link to find out if you cards are real or not? I cannot post this link , but Google detecting usb counterfeit drives.
I know a lot of people buy cheap from ebay etc, and few are real good copys. Always remember to buy sealed branded makes with the class in the circle (2,4 or 6)
Living here in Thailand i know all about the copies!! I bought a few, and yes they were copies not 8gb, but 2gb. so at least with the link above it can keep you right.
Also when you get your new real card, erase it in you mobile, then format it before use.
I back up my SD to my D/Drive, but i unhide and show all files on the main computer to make sure all files are transfering over, including the hidden ones.
Just a few tips lads.

Hi, My 2 MicroSdHC 8GB Memory card experienced the same. 1st card only work for 1 and a half day and the 2nd card only work for 1 day!! It's showed NO SD CARD on my HTC HD2 Leo. I bought both card on Ebay. They sent me the replacement card. Unfortunately both card are same. They claimed that they are selling 100% Genuine Micro SD Card!! Lucky I am getting my full refund from them after open a dispute!! Now, I am trying to get other 16GB MicroSDHC for mh HD2 Leo. Hopefully the new 16GB card work well with my HD2 Leo.

My 16gb sandisk micro sd card is no longer being recognized. I booted my HTC HD2 in Android and mounted the sd card to transfer pics to my pc. Just then I got a call coming in and the phone immediately became unresponsive. I kept getting the force close message but I couldn't stop it (it seemed to be in a loop) So I unsafely disconnected the phone from the pc, took out the battery and rebooted it. It started up in windows, but when I went to check for the sd card it could no longer be found. I pull out the card put it back more than twice, and yet the phone failed to recognize my memory card.
Please help me guys
put the sd card into a card reader, connect to your pc and if if its recognised there, it might be a dying card I've lost 1 16GB and an 8GB in 18 months with my hd2
If the pc recognises the card with no error save the date, reformat to primary partition fat 32 using Easeus free edition, also try the phone without the card
Thank u
Hey ..I really do appreciate the time u took to respond. Funny I was thinking the same thing....I broke my old card reader, now I have to get another another on from Amazon.com. As soon as I can lay my hands on one that is gonna be my first move.
Again, thanks a bunch.
P.S
Sadly I feel like an idiot for not backing up my sd card...(more than 3000 photos on there )

After trying the SD Card thru a card reader and if it still doesn't work/recognize it - then your mobile (hd2's)windows is corrupted - coz the same happened with me thrice and ultimately I took it back to the HTC service centre and they re installed the windows 6.5 and since then everythings is working normally and there is no problem with the SD Card anymore, but your old card becomes thrash and you'll have to get a new card :0)

Same here. Lost a sd-card recently but probably due to my own fault.
The card was difficult to get out of the reader (Yup, it seems there is some tolerance on the size) so I had to use some small tweezers.
I finally managed to get it out without any visual damage but after inserting it in the HD2 it couldn't see it anymore, neither in the cardreader afterwards.
What I think is that I had physically bent the card and broke the connections to the actual memory chip.
Some good advice on memory cards and I can't stress this out enough especially for dedicated photo equipment. Instead of buying a 16GB card buy 2 x 8GB and from a known seller and known brand.
The best and probably worst experience example that I can give is from a couple who were on their honeymoon and lost all of their pictures because of a el-cheapo 8GB memorycard.
For a phone it is something else but I made a custom out of it to create a map on my c-drive called sd-card phone. Ok it is not a every week copy but it is handy to have the data on my pc and on my phone.
I brought a XPeria play from Amazon.com that is supposed to be new and appears to be that way. I was super excited to get it...
Except one thing...
The SD Card that the phone come with is not being read properly. It comes with an 8GB card.
I am not sure what brand of card it is. It says 8 GB microsd HC
I even tried using my current SD card that I have in my other phone, also 8 GB made by kingston. Class 4 I believe
Everytime i stick it in there it says SD CARD CAN NOT BE ACCESED
I go into settings and it will at first show 7.40 GB available and then it will change to unavailable.
What can I do?
It is an R800i
I actually had the same problem just a little while ago and I put into my x10 and it said the card had damaged clusters out something like that and it just repaired it, so that could be it or the sd card slot just doesn't work properly
Sent from my R800a using XDA App
Not too sure if this will work, but i guess its worth a shot right?
Format the SD Card ~ Take a backup of everything on it if needs be.
(If you can't do it via the phones settings, use an adapter and do it via your pc)
then place it back in, try to mount it, if it fails; reboot the phone and see if it automatically mounts.
Hope it works if you try it.
Make sure the back of the phone is securely in place, there is a tiny microswitch on the rear of the phone that tells it the back is on, if the back is not on properly, the micro sd will unmount itself.
Hi,
I have a new 64gb class 10 sd card. It seems that it keeps on corrupting at some point inside my note 3. Most of my music has corrupted and photos i take become corrupted. Im pretty sure if i do a dskchk on pc it recovers them all but i dont have my pc with me now for another 4 weeks. Does anyone know why this is happenning? Ive reformatted the cards several times now its fat32.
The note is unrooter stock and its the first time ive had an sd in it.
Thankss
Are you sure it is an official card and not a fake? There are cheap cards out there that claim to have large capacity (and show as such when you insert them), but in fact they are actually hacked low end small capacity cards... As soon as you go over its actual size, files get corrupted.

Thanks for the reply, how can i check it? I have the unrooted phone itself i dont have a laptop or computer at the moment
There are test tools, but the ones I know of run on pc. One indication of a fake card could be if it was offered online for a ridiculous low price.
Search SD card tools on Google play store, there are apps that can verify its authenticity but like gschot said, PC tools like H2testw are the best and most reliable.

Thanks i will try that.
What i can say though is that when i used the pc to copy music over using the sd adapter the computer did it fine. I could play it no problem, then when i put it in my phone things became strange so i put it back into the computer which noticed a problem and suggested a scan. After scanning the files appeared again. I formatted the card to fat32 again and recopied all the music before i left, and 16gb of music has been reduced to 7.5bg of music through corruption. The phone doesnt tell me that they are corrupted. The folders are there with the first letters of the title changef to a μ symbol. E.g. DCIM folder changes to μCIM and the folder will be empty.
The sd card tester dont work because kitkat doesnt let apps write to the sd card. :L

The ~7gb after scanning almost confirms that it's a 8gb card. Format it again & put less than 7gb of files on it and see if will be OK.
There's several threads in the Q&A section...have a read at my posts.
