I've recently rooted and installed the VillainROM 2.0 on my SGS2.
Since then, my device isn't discoverable by any PC as a USB mass storage device. It wont' be recognized by Kies as well.
What can I do?
Please help
Edit: After rebooting it 3 times, I've managed to get it working properly.
But for some reason, it's not like before.
When I plug in the USB, in the notifications tray, a "USB mass storage" notification appears. It tells me that I need to turn it on and then off when I want to(by safely disconnecting it from my PC).
Is that normal?
Does the mount screen show when connecting?
For kies to recognize the phone make sure usb debugging is off.

After turning off "USB debugging" what I wrote in the "edit" in the original post didn't happen.
This is weird, it started working after 2 days of not working.....
Anyways, as long as it works I guess I don't have a problem. Hope this won't happen again....
I have quite similar problem. I am using LeoMar75 2.1 Revolution Rom and Ninphetamin+DesignGear kernel. My PC recognizes my phone but it cant connect with Kies. Same was when I was on Cognition 1.13 but on VillainRom 2.0 it works and connects with Kies.
Does anyon know what should be the problem?
Thanks.
Either usb debugging is on or the kies software on the phone side is removed.

My usb debugging is off and I have Kies on my phone and PC. The Adroid market is working fine but when I connect my SGS2 with usb cable to PC it says:
"Current connection mode not supported by Kies."
Any idea?
Is it possible that it is because of custom kernel?
hi,
my legend had a problem with its screen i changed both the lcd and the digitizer but since then the pc doesn't recognize it, it only charge via the pc
is there any solution?
You must give more details (is your phone rooted?)
The screen shouldn't have anything to do with USB Mass storage. Like you, I've had this problem but only because I have rooted my phone and it was easily fixed by reflashing the rom via recovery mode. However make sure you've tried all the simple solutions (checking the "USB debugging" box) before reflashing your current or new rom.

it is rooted, and i tries more than one rom (cm7 and newsense) both nothing, the legend itself don't show anything in the notification area like before, it just charge, i tried running usb tether but it says that the usb is not connected
Okay, so if you have already tried reflashing (and it didn't work) then I have no idea what to do (method worked for me). The USB cord may be faulty or the USB is bricked (there is guide to unbricking USB on HTC legend around this forum, have a look). Best advice I can offer is to unrooted your phone and give it back for warranty (but only do this if all hope is lost).

So I'm sending my phone back to Google, and I need to restore it to stock and lock the bootloader. The problem is when I connect my phone to my computer via usb, my computer doesn't recognize my Nexus. Although it charges it. I've tested out the usb cord on my s4 and that works perfect. I tried uninstalling and installing the drivers again. But all what I get on my computer is device not recognized. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

USB Debugging enabled?
On certain ROMS mine isn't recognized if IT is enabled.
I think mine has something to do with my USB Ports/Chipset, but when I shut of USB Debugging it appears.
I'm assuming its a driver issue. Try reinstalling them using this guide

I do not own a Nexus 7, but I am helping my friend with his N7 problems. The issues he is having were not present until he updated to 4.3.
The problems are:
-Will not connect to the computer through USB
-OS crashes when any option involving the USB is changed
-Will not display that it is charging when the tablet is plugged in and powered on, but it does charge. However it does display that it is charging with the device powered off.
If anyone knows a way to fix this, or at least be able to get into USB debugging without the OS crashing, please help! Thanks!

You can always try to flash a factory image through fastboot, and you can transfer files to your PC with Airdroid to do a backup.
i recently reflashed the stock mj7 firmware because after kingo root i lost bluetooth capabilities, since i reflashed everythings working fine except for usb debugging, i can turn it on, can checkmark the box, but once connected to the computer it doesnt show the usb debugging symbol or show up connected to adb, also along with that anything requiring usb debugging be turned on doesnt work either any help here?
Are you trying to reroot your phone and make sure your using a USB 2.0 cable as well had to find three in order to flash my phone
