[Q] About RAM - Galaxy 3 General

This might sound really awkward but, i'm a newbie and im new to gadgets and stuff
So, i was wondering whether i can speed up my G3 by making use of Virtual RAM (If somehow that's possible)
Does more RAM mean more performance?
I've overclocked my G3 to 1.3GHz thanks to Marcellusbe's Kernel but still whenever do multitasking my G3 slows down, Is it because of the fact that G3 has only 256MB RAM?

sorry guys for asking this but i'm somewhat having same issue
I'm running Indroidv5.2 ROM and my RAM usage is insane, i'm only getting 15mb free memory even when I'm browsing. this has happened to me with Kyrillos rom also.
is there any solution for this issue?
plz reply

Try supercharger script

i prefer auto memory manager than supercharger.. AMM does d same ..

Ok so try juwe ram script.
Or install a tadk manager with autokill

[PLEASE CLOSE] Help me! Low RAM!

Recently i switched from FroyoBread to XGin 5.3. On FroyoBread startup i see 90MB free, but on Xgin about 70. And it can go low as 20. Help me!
do you have a problem when your ram is 20?
I guess not. android already have memory management.
but if u want it, clear your ram with taskkiller, then don't open any application. so ur ram always free as much as u want.

like I said, don't open any program. its not a suggestions...
If you wanna get more free ram use task killer manager from market or editing the lowmemorykiller preference on system
sent from my own custom rom
Use Autokiller.
it´s very professional, it has much settings and it can also kill system apps, because it´s a root app.
I use Advanced Task Manager. And when i reach 20MB ram heavy games close and my phone is 'LITTLE' slower. As far i have about all android stuff, i think the only sulution is to switch to another rom.

RAM Speed?

Hi all,
Is it possible to increase RAM speed?
Bcoz in defy while running applications lag in speed?
I think RAM speed 470+?
470 is the amount of ram available on cm7, not the speed. and im quite sure theres no way to increase ram speed, but i dont anyone would have a problem with that. the thing you need is ram manager (pro) which you can download from the market (play store). this app manages your ram in a way that you will never run out of memory, which is probably the main cause of your lag. hope this helps.
sent from my cm7 defy...
a app can do that
From my defy
MB's aren't speed, those are capacity for processes.
You can speed up your RAM by using V6 supercharged script.

That script optimizes the RAM management. You cannot increase the memory speed because it's a physical limitation. You need a higher frequency of the RAM module.

RAM TWEAK

Good day!
Sir Savie and Sir Kurotsugi, I would like to seek your wise advice regarding RAM tweak.
My current rom is Next2ICS and current kernel is savieSGY#73REV AROMA with setting min312 max 156 smartassv2 sio.
For the ram I am using Start Up Auditor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vesperaNovus.app.StartupAuditor&hl=tl
Ram Manager Pro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartprojects.RAMOptimization&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zbWFydHByb2plY3RzLlJBTU9wdGltaXphdGlvbiJd
and Easy Task Killer Advanced https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobo.task.killer&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5tb2JvLnRhc2sua2lsbGVyIl0.
Sir Kuro and Sir Savie, my question is what ram tweaks is best to use wherein I only want a ram usage of 97 to 120 mb just like my previous stock rom and kernel wherein I also use that 3 apps before and until now?
I have read many information that using task killer is not a help to battery and ram that is why I would like to ask your opinions who experienced in galaxy y so as not to use task killers but instead use ram tweaks
Also Sir Kuro, I have read your post about the V6, adrenaline and your own tweak but I am still confused as to what to use. My only goal is to have ram usage of 97 to 120mb and not to use task killers anymore.
Sir Savie and Sir Kuro please enlighten me and give me advice on what ram tweaks can i use.
Hoping for your kind response.
Thank you
at first:i have never seen the ram is so low
at second:dont open a new thread for this question, look with search button or post in the threads from the devs he makes the kernel/tweaks.......
please research everyone,
linux memory management is different from windows memory management,
in windows the more ram available the better performance,
in linux the less ram available the better performance,
reason:
the system does not need to cache the required files anymore to the system, unlike windows
its not the ram which causes lag,
its the CPU usage by the apps
read-->try-->ask
Good day!
Sir CALIBAN666 I am very sorry and my apology for this thread. I will follow your advice
Sir Death Notice also I would like to apologize. I am just hoping for kind response because most you Sir's are much experienced users when it comes to galaxy. Sir Death Notice thank you for the comment. I have learned from you about ram management
Thank you Sir Kuro.
no problem bro.welcome

How To Get Play as fast as possible

i have an xperia play 16GB sd card running dixperia2 doomkernel v14 launcherpro with ram manager pro at 1.6GHz can anyone tell me the best combination they have had
Best + Stable
Xperia Play 16gb Class 10 SD Card Xperia NXT 1.2 Supercharged 1.4 Ghz Smartass V2 LuPuS GB v5
32Gb class10 sd card with DiXperia2 + removed some systemapps that i dont need (torch,calculator....)+ sick speed tweak+ auto memory manager
+lupus v.5(smartass v2 sio 1500mHz for daily use and for gaming 1700mHz performance sio) = my PLAY is a beast and really no game is laging, i get about 250mb of free ram for gaming.
Sick speed tweak?? Mind sharing??

I would really like to know what it is.
Well...im not a expert but i also have tried dixperia 2.
But now im with Nxt Light edition 1.3
I only use advanced task killer before playing something hard like FPSE with opengl.
i have 250mb free ram.
Stable overclocked with 1.8ghz but sometimes there will be some crashes like when speeding or lowering clocks, or sometimes FPSE will crash after overclock and you will have just to open it again without issues.
I have a low class SDCard so i havent tried any Swapper.
I dont use ram manager or anything of those silly things but i readed NXT light edition comes with v6 supercharger.
I did some benchmarks ago with 1.7ghz i had better 3D Score but with 1.8ghz i had better CPU score.
Just extract and place in init.d
Source?? I'd like to read more bout it before using it. Thanks.

Right on. The 06sysctl seems like it uses to re-calculate every system ram allocation & refresh them on every use. Nice!!! Snappy snappy snappy. As for the sicktweak its kinda pretty much the same as v6 only less. So to me, the 06sysctl is enough to satisfy ur need. Thanks again.

Love the 06sysctl file, i can already see better performance!
But the other file keeps changing my governor so i deleted it.
Thanks cyraxx.

Hard to go wrong with init.d files. You can set them to 777, which means ALL access is allowed. Though, technically they should be 755, which is read write exec for owner, read exec for group and read exec for global (or others)
The best way to have a blazing fast xplay is to have debloated stock rom + swapper + ram manager pro + 1.4ghz smartassv2/sio + advanced task killer :good:
I got tired of custom roms and all that stuff, i just installed stock rom and deleted all type of bloatware apps and added a couple of things to make it nicer like walkman player, bravia engine, notification toggles, new boot animation, new xperia launcher and camera app from NXT.
I so love it:laugh:

It's mostly one or the other, unless you get a bigger battery. Optimization can only go so far

The thread didn't say, so maybe you might know. Custom ROM/kernel only I assume? I'm on stock, so I don't want to flash this without knowing for sure. Or is one of the two files in the zip possible to use on stock?
Stock does not support init.d. So if u want'em tweak either enable init.d urself or flash any custom rom or kernel that supports init.d script.

[5.X.X]Get The BEST Out of STOCK or ANY ROM

Hello MOTO G2 users,
I have been testing a lot of setting to get the best out of the stock lollipop (u can try on custom ROMS too with appropriate(optimus kernel by Flashhhh works ) kernel) on our device. After lots of flukes and changing of setting I got the device to perform its best.
If u want to try u can go ahead, but I am not responsible if anything happens to ur device
ROOT REQUIRED(Obviously)
Requirements:
1. Stellar Kernel v3.0(recommended for stock not for custom rom): http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/stock-stellarkernel-v1-t3085277
2. Kernel Adiutor app (Download from playstore)
3. Optimus kernel (Only for custom ROMS not for stock)
Steps:
1. Open the kernel adiutor app (The stellar kernel should already be installed)
2. Set the settings as given below:
CPU:
Cpu max frequency: 1190 MHz
Cpu min Frequency: 300 MHz
Governor: interactive(mostly) or ondemand (I recommend ondemand only when u are sleeping as it saves battery)
Multicore power saving: Aggressive (U can keep it disabled if u want)
(Leave other settings as it is)
CPU Hotplug:
MPDecision: Off
Intelliplug: ON
Profile: Eco performance or balanced
Touch boost: On
MSM Hotplug: ON
Debug Mask: ON
CPUs Boosted: 4 (Adjust ur way)
Max cores screen off: ur choice
(Leave other settings as it is)
GPU:
GPU max frequency: 320MHz (u can try 450)
CPU governor: msm adreno tz
Simple Gpu Algorithm : ON
Laziness: 4
Ramp Threshold : 6
Low Memory Killer:
Foreground Application: 6MB
Visible " " : 8MB
Secondary Server: 16MB
Hidden Application: 20MB
Content Providers: 22MB
Empty application: 24MB
[Or u can apply this value easily using the scripts by selecting super multitasking profile (temp) from rt ram manger page in android development section]
(Thanks to Diamond Bond For this Values)
Thanks To:
@zakee94 :For the kernel
@DiamondBond : For the Script
@Flashhhh for optimus kernel
I really thank the developers for the works they have done for our device. Without them this was not achievable.:good::good::fingers-crossed:
I have really done nothing but only triend configuring the setting. All main work goes to those two developer.
I would recommend keeping a ram cleaner on ur device if ur ram usage goes high
Install greenify to hibernate useless apps.
Press Thanks if this helped you.
Send me ur experience after applying this.:good:

Dont suggest users to use the M option which removes the bootanimation bin, it dosnt help suggest them to use xposed with the backported mem-leak fix module and an lmk profile from my script (different profiles work for different people), but otherwise, nice guide, ive been meaning to post something like this for a while!

Tried this setting on Flex OS and CM 12.1 with optimus kernel.. And it works:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
Memory leak fix not required i guess
smartmax profile works perfect in my case.
Ya its good, but it may cause your phone to over heat.... Its upon you to choose governors but dont mess with low mem kill values:thumbup:

@Vedant Mistry Bit harsh, but its true that memory killers don't work on android, purely because of the way that memory management is handled on android. The whole system is set up to use lots of ram. Ram use isn't bad, CPU use is. If you use a task killer to free up more ram, android will just restart the service and use extra CPU in doing so, plus your phone will be slower because you haven't got the cached data already there in the ram. Free ram on android is wasted ram.
So, that, in a nutshell, is why the insult (however harsh) was flung.

First of all, I never told that I was some superhero(pro) that would give the 100% guarantee of this guide working for all. And I also know that free ram on android is wasted ram. But based on my experience with stock ROM running those low memory killer values, the ram usage goes high on running lot of apps e.g. 740mb/848mb and the phone just lags like hell. So by cleaning your ram (more like Memory boost) you can get out of the lag.
And if you don't want to follow this guide don't follow it but don't kill/be harsh on me. I have already written in the thread that any new suggestions are welcomed. I found this working so I posted it.
