RAM Speed? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Is it possible to increase RAM speed?
Bcoz in defy while running applications lag in speed?
I think RAM speed 470+?

470 is the amount of ram available on cm7, not the speed. and im quite sure theres no way to increase ram speed, but i dont anyone would have a problem with that. the thing you need is ram manager (pro) which you can download from the market (play store). this app manages your ram in a way that you will never run out of memory, which is probably the main cause of your lag. hope this helps.

a app can do that

MB's aren't speed, those are capacity for processes.
You can speed up your RAM by using V6 supercharged script.

That script optimizes the RAM management. You cannot increase the memory speed because it's a physical limitation. You need a higher frequency of the RAM module.

[Q] About RAM

This might sound really awkward but, i'm a newbie and im new to gadgets and stuff
So, i was wondering whether i can speed up my G3 by making use of Virtual RAM (If somehow that's possible)
Does more RAM mean more performance?
I've overclocked my G3 to 1.3GHz thanks to Marcellusbe's Kernel but still whenever do multitasking my G3 slows down, Is it because of the fact that G3 has only 256MB RAM?
sorry guys for asking this but i'm somewhat having same issue
I'm running Indroidv5.2 ROM and my RAM usage is insane, i'm only getting 15mb free memory even when I'm browsing. this has happened to me with Kyrillos rom also.
is there any solution for this issue?
plz reply
Try supercharger script

i prefer auto memory manager than supercharger.. AMM does d same ..
Ok so try juwe ram script.
Or install a tadk manager with autokill

High RAM usage

Hi,
I noticed that ram usage on galaxy s4 is very high even when all of the apps are closed. I have used task manager to close all of the apps and then cleared the memory but there was still about 1.05GB of ram used. I don't know if this is normal since I haven't been using android phone for 2 years. Can somebody tell me if this is normal and why? If not what can I do to fix it? Thanks!

its normal for s4... some stock apps are being cached in memory for faster operations
unused ram is wasted ram. If an app needs extra space, something will be automatically killed to make that space.

all of this is true... also keep in mind, the gpu requires slightly more ram because of the 1080p resolution.
Ok. Thank you all for the help
This is the problem of Sammy ROMs, the only way to fix it is to... wait for a Custom ROM and Flash it
this is normal on SGS4 .
Reasons of that are mainly GPU and HQ resolution , cached services and process, and even more if you are using the included extra features (S-voice, NFC ...)
But the SGS4 come with 2 gb of RAM ! you still get like 800 free mb of memory that is good enough for all you needs ))
Personally when I close all apps i get 0.91 gb used memry and 0.9bg free memory

High RAM usage?

On my Optimus G (which had 2 GB of RAM) the maximum available RAM at any given time was about 1.5 GB out of 1.85. On the G2, it's never more than 1.2. I've not noticed slowdowns because of it, but what's using so much RAM? Is the interface really that heavy this time? Or is there a glitch somewhere?

Yea I noticed that too when comparing to my nexus 4, I have always wondered if GRAM has anything to do with it. If GRAM is eating up my ram but giving me better battery life then I am happy about it.

Don't worry about the RAM!!! Its there to be used! if it was to high we'd get all these high RAM threads.
As time goes on, apps and services are used. As apps and services are used the necessary pages are brought into memory and executed. They remain there until the minfree threshold is reached and then they are removed from memory. The minfree memory is usually 100-200 mb. This is a value that can usually be adjusted but of course requires root.
Some applications are poorly coded and may contain memory leaks. Find out which ones they are and delete them or contact the developer so they can fix and continue to monitor it if you need it.
Here is a good article but its a little old: http://www.androidcentral.com/ram-what-it-how-its-used-and-why-you-shouldnt-care

Improve multitasking?

Hello, I own the 6 GB ram version, and I think multitasking could be seriously improved.
I'm using ex kernel manager with stock ROM and kernel, and when I check the ram use it is always MAX 75%.
No matter how many apps I open, I can't use more than my 75% total or ram.
It means that I'll have always at least 1400 mb of ram which is huge!
Does anyone know how to be able to use more ram?
I think having 500-600 free ram is enough...

ram problem

So idk what's causing this I'm on havoc os 3.7 official and I've noticed that a lot of times if I have multiple apps open then switch to another app that one app will like close and re load the entire app as of it was killed because I dident have enough ram or something well when Icheck memory I have 4gb ram but my apps r force closing all the time or resetting as if I'm out of ram but my ram usage never goes up past like 2.4 GB so like why is my phone not using all my ram and how can I change it because this is annoying and I should be able to utilize my ram if not then why even have that much ram
Test a kernel manager like this https://github.com/SmartPack/SmartPack-Kernel-Manager/releases then low memory killer and or an other kernel
OK so the default values were low like 128 and 256 and about around there for everything in LMK so I changed them as high as they would go for the most part based on my total amount of ram and the lower the value the less ram an app is allowed to have before it is killed right?
Actually I think if the value is higher the apps will get killed more frequently so I guess I want them lower then?
