I just saw the m1 release and I was stunned, 1,5 ghz dual core, 1gb ram and 4gb rom and the ability to flash other android roms will probably make devs interested in this beast, and all of this for 300 $ , seems to be a hell of a device, let's see the overall quality of the device, but this looks very promising..

What do you guys think?
What do I think? I think that will be my next phone. Especially if it's Vanilla.
It looks like a hot device & possible upgrade from the N1 someday! Here's the main thread discussion:

No trackball

Only 768 MB of Ram? Single Core 1.2 GHz?
That's a good upgrade, but not worth all the money for not much of a technology leap.
Maybe if it had 1 GB Ram and a dual core/quad core 1+ GHz processor.

Some sites are reporting dual 1.2GHz processors but at this point it's probably just speculation.
If its a dual core, its mine
My money is on the next Nexus device being made by Motorola.
I hope it's not a pentile display like the Atrix.
I really hope that image is a mock up. It's basically an extended nexus minus the trackball.
it looks nice, but not that sexy
Hot looking phone, not worth the upgrade yet IMO.
dual core and a bigger screen ftw. (hope it's dual core)

I would upgrade just to get a N1 with better/working touch.
That said, I prefer AMOLED.
HTC Pyramid will be first HTC's dual core phone. Looks good IMO
htc always rocks....
great devices
Everyone take a look at the back of it. We don't know if its a mock up picture or not, most likely, though I hope it will be like that when it comes to the states. But again, look at the back of your nexus one, then look at another android phone, then look at the pyramid picture. The google logo is google stand alone, which only dedicates to nexus line. Regular android phones don't have that

You might as well get used it, if my memory serves me correctly no recently released HTC Android device has a trackball. Actually, not just HTC, the trackball is almost non-existant on Android phones now.

It's got a dual-core 1.2 (per core) Snapdragon aka Scorpion. It's the same SoC in the HP TouchPad; better than Tegra 2.
EDIT: It's way WORSE than Tegra 2..... it's a Cortex A8 device, with an underwhelming GPU
HTC Pyramid benchmarks
http://smartphonebenchmarks.com/for...60-smartbench-2011-result-have-been-revealed/
Don't see the point of single-core, sub-1gb-RAM phones in 2011 ... seriously.
Tegra 3 is coming out in august for pads, christmas for phones. Hoping HTC makes a nice Nexus HD or something out of it for the holidays.
- Tegra 3
- 1gb DDR3
- 16-32gb internal
- micro-sd slot
- 3.7-4.0in HD screen
- no keyboard for the love of God
- same build quality as N1 (not some Dollar-store Nexus S plastic plz)
- NFC or not, don't really care since it won't be widely used until like 2014
- Some sort of LED notification area (not necessarily a trackball, but an LED which we can control the same we do now on the N1... it's MUCH NEEDED!)
- this is a personal choice, but the same button placement (BACK - MENU - HOME - SEARCH) would rock ... I know most phones now have the BACK and MENU inversed...
- Dock support would rock too (same 3-pin system, wtv...)
- Most importantly, Vanilla Android. At that point, I'm guessing it will be Ice Cream [Sandwich?] or J...jello? copyright... wtv... something J.
No use buying a single-core phone in 2011 ! stick to the N1 for now...
my tattoo working on arco-s GB rom at 710 mhz about one week now, did anyone tried get more mhz from tattoo?
Sent from my HTC Tattoo using XDA Premium App
haha wouldn't of thought it would be worth it as it will make minimal difference to the phone simply because its not all down to mhz on a processor... i have mine oced and can't tell difference from normal really .. maybe uts lags down by such a teeny teeny amount haha just buy yourself the new motorola atrix or something if you want speed
This is just a fun thread, and please don't go about trolling to buy a new phone. If you had one or two magical wishes what would you improve on the X8 be it hardware or software.
I for one if I had a wish would hope for the X8 to have magical solar panels which would keep the phone going all year without running low on power. Haha
And what would you wish for?
Well, if I can, I want to change the CPU to 1.5ghz, and processor Armv7 myself.
Sent From My W8 Using Tapatalk 2!!
CPU to 1,4 GHz and the size of the sreen to 4"
Fully working ics on stock kernel
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-2
I wish.....
CPU 1/1.4 GHz and 1GB RAM.
Then ICS Jelley Bean not a factor.
mmm...
I would... make the volume rocker and the camera button a bit bigger, use better quality plastic to eliminate the cracking sound the back cover makes (noticed this on several black x8). And, last but not least, armv7 (minimum), better gpu, 1gb rom, 1gb data, 512mb ram so that we wont depend on app2sd that much and have better app response (that will definitely solve some major rom upgrade issues)
[Miracle]
What would i do : change Ram to 8gb DDR3 | 3D,2D Nvidia driver Like m150 | Battery up to 6Years or more! | 900GB internel Memory! | Cpu 3.32ghz | Camera Like DSLR [canon] | And Have Usb Port 2.0 | Thats enough for me.
[Just are dream] .
And yeah ! Sure i'll Fix My Phone !
If can..I wish my X8 can be flexible with the latest software & hardware.
Change the phone's processor to Tegra 2 1500MHz dual core
4"5 iNCH screen with corning gorilla glass
1Gb ram
OFFICIAL ICS 4.0
Ram 1GB CPU to 1.5GHz
A Cypress digitizer. Well, a better touchscreen. It's horrible to type with, and the screen just feels cheap. And the sensitivity is all messed up.
I'm fine with the speed, we have godly devs here.

damn right we do! the best there is!
just more RAM, and slightly bigger screen
and maybe faster processor, thinner design, better software support, no squeaking case, unlocked bootloader, better battery life, multitouch..and so on..oops
CPU 1,5 dual core
I want 1gb of ram and 800mhz dual core armV7 and 2 speakers and maybe bigger screen like - 3.5

Well it is good to open the desires about our Shakiras.
1) A method to unlock bootloader for 11W29+ devices.
2) screen size to 4 inches
3) RAM to 1 Gb.
In have both a htc one x and a nexus 4, which i just got. First off I'll start saying I absolutely love the nexus 4, everything about it.
I also know that benchmarking doesn't really apply to an everyday user and has no signification in the grand scheme of things.
With that said why does the one x that's dual core and less ram outperform the nexus 4 that's quad core (same clock speed) and 2 gigs of ram.

As you mentioned, Benchmark apps don't really do justice for multiple reasons.. not custom for particular android version.. device kernel - OS is not polished yet (which is the case in nexus 4) etc...
There is a benchmark thread around that shows nexus 4 smoking every device , which in my opinion not true but at least you see the discrepancy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967843
Anyhow, if you are new , I suggest to install a custom kernel and ROM to enjoy the device to the max ( I use franco and CM 10.1 and I love it) and don't worry about numbers as long as you enjoy the experience.
You cant compare two different device by benchmark I totally agree for that but can we trust and compare relatively for the same device and android version for two different ROM/kernel?
youre doing it wrong
I've seen many single core goophones fly around the Chinese markets, specifically the one from android sale. But this seems new, and the real deal... For $30 more than the androidsale goophone, you get this...

The seller seems to specialize in selling generic phones of high quality. There have been 19 sales of this phone since time of posting, 3 comments (none of any interest), and no reviews (although I'm waiting for one)...

I'd say $240 is a good price for such a high end phone, generic or not it seems cool. I haven't found any reviews or videos of this specific one, but there are reviews on goophones that look the same and have same specs... Those seem to run nicely...
Thanks, but I don't see any deals, and also, you can find it on ebay for the same price, or maybe cheaper.
I actually played with one of these, it would've been pretty awesome and I would've bought it if it ran a stock jelly bean build, instead the os was a poor attempt at looking like iOS.

Probably intensively overclocked. I actually doubt the specs. Editing build.prop is all it takes. All we can rely on is the info of the GPU. They're usually just the typical dual-core MTK6577
