I just got a 8525 today and want to make sure there is no water damage to it.
When you take off the battery cover, to the right of the camera there is a white circle that reads 'VOID' on it in read. Does this mean it has had water damage (hence void), or does it mean that if that white circle turns all pink, then it has had water damage?
My last phone had water damage, but it had a little white section that just got a bunch of pink dots on it after damage. Void is written pretty neatly, so I am assuming no damage has been done and it should be ok.
I just wanted to check with other 8525 owners and make sure that is what it should say.

thats not a waterdamage sticker to the best of my knowledge, theres a screw underneath it.
Thanks - phone seems to work fine and everything works as it should (except for the keyboard - it seems the layout internally doesn't match with the keys on the keyboard, but there probably is a thread regarding this) - just a few nicks on the outside.
Hi! I just got the Galaxy S5 4G+ a couple weeks ago and I absolutely love it. However, I have been reluctant to get it wet as I have read about some S5s getting water damaged due to manufacturing defects with the waterproof seals on the back cover and charging port. I was wondering if there is any way to test if my S5 is sealed properly without the risk of completely frying it. I was thinking of sealing the battery contacts with a bit of tape, so that there is no electricity flowing through the phone in case it does get wet, then submerging it for a bit and checking if there is any water inside the sealed areas/if the water-damage indicators change colour. What do you think?
I have return to Samsung service my S5 due display failure and I have adked how it is warrany void for IP67 if from my perspective cover mounting and sealing is weak. Service techican told me that if indicators inside is marked they have guidelines to cancell warranty. So I don't belive in Samsung IP67 warranty.
BTW technican shown me that most important sealing is inside under batttery.
Thank you for the insight....I have heard some people say that Samsung covers some cases where the seal was defective but, as always, it depends...
Anyway, even if it were to void my warranty, I would like to test if my S5 is properly sealed, as long as it still works afterwards.

I dropped my phone in the water and the water damage sticker turned red. Does anyone know where you can purchase them.
no idea. but can you answer us something...
how long it was in the water, did the device go under as in submerged, and does it still work, thanks.
Changing those stickers is considered fraud. Best to just leave it. I do recommend taking it to highly rated repair shop to have the board cleaned of all corrosion so it doesn't die in you randomly later on.
I'd like to see if a phone I'm looking at has water damage. I understand Motorola puts water damage indicators in them. Is there a way to look at this for the G4 without voiding the warranty?
watch this video, at about 2:25 the location is shown.

Hi,
As we all know OP8 Pro is IP68 protection and so it prevents the water from entering the phone from all possible way but as we all know that Apple uses a concept of throwing the water out from phone using some mechanism.
My question is how is internal water entry of speaker is prevented on OP8 Pro?
My guess is everything but the cone of the speaker is exposed? So everything is seal with a film or otherwater resistant coating and the cone is free to move to produce sound.
Still unclear
Thanks for the update but still unclear if anyone can help before we start submerging the phone in clear water, as OP8 Pro doesn't cover warranty on liquid damage

Check jerryrigs video from youtube. And that rating is water resistant not water proof. Like stainless steel is not rust proof its just resistant. And why you wanna put your electronics under water anyway if its not an accident?

I wouldn't go submerging the phone no matter what the correct answer on water resistance is anyway. It's not covered so even if there was a slight defect in the water resistance-ability of the phone and water got in and caused damaged, you're out of luck.
