Not sure what happened I was switching between roms when my amagldr boot menu started to act up.
When I press 1.boot Ad Sd It flashes the 1234 Count screen for a split second then back to the boot menu,. Does not continue over to the clockwork menu.

...i would recommend to flash the latest 1.13 magldr version.

I am a new so please bare with my newbness.
How do I upgrade , Especially when I am only able to get to two screens
the redblue green screen with the hpsa info
Then the Boot menu
Boot menu
1.boot ad sd
2.boot ad nand
3.usb mass
4.usb flasher
5.usb tty
6.ad hardreset
7.tetris
8.services
9.reset
10.power down
no Ad Recovery Option
Ahhh I see. There was two Files missing from the SD Card. For the Clock work . Now after installing a rom it says something about boot mounts not found! Has a bunch of letters before it but can't read them fast enough
Bootloader (stripey screen)
Ensure spl says 2.08.hspl else use Hspl4 (or 3 ) to set it.
USB
Flash latest magldr from this screen
Restart
Bootloader
flash radio if needed, can skip this step usually
Restart
Magldr menu
USB flasher
Flash desired cwm partition layout
Restart
Magldr menu 8 ad recovery (recovery no longer runs from SD like before)
Once in cwm, mount SD card and copy over the rom you want then flash it with 'instal zip from SD - choose zip'
Thanks Sam, i appreciate any help. However I am a newb. So one word commands to me Really lose me
I know That Number 8 in my menu is not ad Recover it is services.
Checked Color Screen, it is 2.08.
I am lost after that. You said go to the USB Flasher, What do I do when I am there? I apologize for my lack of flashing knowledge
Get the little windows program from the stickies in the android nand forum it has really good instructions and it has the latest magldr and cwm and it basicly walks you through the whole process
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
Number 8 will be ad recovery once you get the latest magldr.
When quoting spl, the bit you missed off is the important bit,
2.08.what? 2.08.0000 or 2.08.hspl? Big difference.
As for the how, you ought really to know the process before you start, not do each step as you read it,that's really bad practice. An hours reading of the stickies and especially the first posts of the various threads,,magldr, cwm, the rom you choose,,,most roms give directions how to flash in the first few posts.
(Sorry to sound all preachy, just I know how much more likely you are to make a mistake diving in and doing it on the fly,, plus of course that info is everywhere, no need for me to write it all out again, hehe)

hi,
MAGLDR doesn't recognize my sd card . i can't use usb mass storage , AD SD => CWM . apparently all the roms i want are released az ZIPs ...
is there a fix for that ?
Are you using magldr 1.13? If so you need to use the new CWM 1.3 partitions which now installs the partition onto NAND, so to use CWM you need to boot into the AD Recovery option from menu and not Boot AD SD. There is also no need to copy files to root of sd card.
There is a problem with magldr usb mass storage, but if you boot to CWM, select mount and storage and the usb storage you can copy perfectly.
hi
my problem is with the bootloader screen. After installing magldr 1.13 i could not start the ppc in bootloader mode. i have tried many key combinations and etc.. but it is still starting with magldr after a short white htc screen. So now i cannot load any official or custom winmo firmware. None of the android nand fw are working. Now i only can use winphone 7 with limited abilities.. Can anyone tell me the way to solve this and go back to original rom?
thanks

When you say you can not start in bootloader, bootloader is started by turning the phone off, holding in the vol down button only and turning on the phone.
The phone should not even get to the white htc screen.
If you get into the tri-colour screen you can get back to a stock rom to start again.

@ClydeB1 : so i have to install the new CWM using the USB Flasher and it'll boot from AD Recovery ? thats good news i guess ...
will it let me install ZIP roms ? also i have a 512Leo . why would i (or anyone) want to partition NAND ?!?

Yes, install the appropriate cwm partition by going to usb flasher and running daf.exe. Then the phone will reboot to magldr, select AD recovery and you can then flash zip roms or updates, backup etc etc etc.... I have a 512 device also, so no problems.
I guess one of the reasons for running recovery off NAND is that not all users could get the sd based recovery to work.

I have the same problem here. I tried to return from my NAND Android Builts to a Windows 6.5 ROM. But after Flashing, the reboot got stuck at the logo. I tried flashing over and over again, different WinRoms, reflashed MAGLDR and even tried a combination with HSPL. nothing seems to work. I dont pass the logo, cannot enter MAGLDR or load a normal build. I kinda run out of all my magic. anyone got any suggestions?

What hspl version and radio are you using? To use magldr you need 2.08.hspl and radio 2.08.50.xx or higher .50 radio
I'm not sure why it would hang on reflash to winmo, but let's try get to Android.

magldr problem
hi
i was instaling the magldr on my htc hd2, but during the instalation i realise that my VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons are broken and dont work...i have to choose some option in MAGLDR but i cant...so i'm stuck here, my phone boots only MAGLDR even when i restart the phone from the red button, or even when i pull out the batery...is there some option to turn off the magldr, without using the volume buttons? please help me..in the store workers tell me that they cant fix the broken volume buttons...and now i cant use my phone... cheers...
EDIT PLEASE READ THROUGH
Alright, I'm about to give up again. My phone.. I don't understand what the **** is wrong with it. I have uninstalled, task29ed, reinstalled magldr flashed with CWm uhhh.. all that stuff over and over and over and over again and it STILL freezes, flashes a blue screen, crashes, restarts, freezes all that stuff.
Right now the issues I have are :
-It crashes on the tri color screen when I plug the USB in.
-It stays at the "Stick Together Scren"
-It crashes when I get to MAGLDR (IF I get t MAGLDR)
So I can't really get anywhere with these reoccurring problems.
Right now I have
-2.08.HSPL
-Radio 2.15.50.40.
-Magldr V 1.13
And that's it. I have TMOUS HTC HD2
I'm trying to install D4RK MIUI v1.5 (1.6.24)
Yes, all my battery little prongs are straight
Yes, I format my SanDisk SD Card
Yes, I did everything I was supposed, followed every instruction to the T, and yet... still.
I'm sure it's not bricked.. It still turns on and stuff, but it just freezes and crashes CONSTANTLY.
PLEASE anyone that knows ANYTHING new I could do, or can direct somewhere. PLEASE. I really love this phone and the possibilities it holds, I don't want to use my stupid Samsung Galaxy S 4G. It's so slow xDD
Anyone have any suggestions..?
To help you everything you say have to be precise. Like is your ROM is it an android NAND and what's the name of it. To check turn off your phone, then turn it on, right from the start by press and hold the red button until you see MAGLDR 1.13 screen. If you see it then we can move to next confirmation steps like what's the name of your ROM. There is no way to fix any if you just give us a maybe. From MAGLDR, select power down, then wait a few second then power your device on and let it boot all the way into the ROM. When your ROM fully loaded, go into Settings/About phone/look under what's the Build number? What's the Android version? What's the Baseband version?
I have magldr 1.13
So I ended up getting a stupid samsung galaxy s xD
ANYWAY, the other day I charged up my old HTC HD2 and prior to ignoring it and letting it die, I removed android and magldr. But I wasn't able to remove HSPL because it wouldn't stay on long enough for me to do it.
And today when I thought it had "fixed itself". It was working completely fine, no freezing on WinMo. So I thought 'what the heck let's do it again!' so I followed the steps for flashing your first nand rom from mskip and I still get the same problems. The phone freezes, I leave it alone, try to press buttons, and it flashes a blue screen then reboots. Magldr doesn't load, I can still get into the tri color screen, I've tried to master reset it multiples of times.. I DUNNO WHAT TO DOOOOOO. And it seems like I'm the only one with this problem xD Please help!

Well of course it is, what do you expect, you have just wiped the entire nand.
You need to re-install MAGLDR, then the partition size you need for the rom you want, then copy the rom to your SD and flash with recovery. Get the HD2 NAND tools from the sticky thread in Android NAND forum, that will make process allot easier for you.
You should also properly format your sdcard with Panasonic SDFormatter (Full+Overwrite+size adjust). Then in recovery>advanced>sd partition (1GB+0MB swap) If you have a EU HD2 and need the extra data storage/rom requires it.

Hi,
Before starting anything,BACKUP YOUR DATA.
Download THIS TOOL (Don't forget to thank him for his work)
Open HD2 Installer Toolkit:
Enter bootloader:hold down volume button when you power on phone. When you are on tri-color screen, insert cable to usb. When screen changes from "serial"to "usb",proceed.
Install HSPL 2.08 HSPL.
Wipe using Toolkit Task 29 (Enter bootloader:as above)
Flash radio...download HERE(Enter bootloader:as above)
Install MAGLDR using Toolkit (Enter bootloader:as above)
(when magldr has loaded, power on and enter by holding power button until you see magldr screen.)
Repartition according to ROM requirements.(via number 5 usb flasher)
(when this is done,Go to ad recovery>advanced>Partition SD Card.1024m with 0 swap)Remember: ALL data on your SD Card will be erased!(Therefore, back it up)
Then go to ad recovery and wipe data, cache partition, and dalvik(advanced).
Then go to install zip from sd card
Choose zip from sd card (which you should have placed on the root of your sd card, using a card reader)
After installation,reboot.
Give it time.
Some ROMS take 15-20 minutes to install.
An alternative is KEVIN134's TOOLKIT (Don't forget to thank him).
This one is a good step by step guide for complete beginners.

Hey! Thanks for replying! I figured it out on my own and have been installing roms through my SD card via Clockwork Mod. It works well for awhile, but I still have the same problem I started off with. The phone freezes and a blue screen flashes then restarts. Do you know why this is happening?

What sd card are you using?(brand, class, size, etc.)
What ROM are you trying to install?

Hi,
Sandisk is a good make of card which is Android friendly.
If you have formatted it as suggested above, that should not be the problem.
Did you follow my guide to the letter?
D4RK MIUI requires a 150MB CWM partition.Did you enter those figures in the KSUBEDI TOOLKIT?
Are you sure you downloaded the MAGLDR version of the ROM?
Yes, yes, yes and yes xD I'm just as stumped as you are.

To install Android to nand using MAGLDR 1.13 you have two choices to do this. You can do it the original way with a ROM that flashes via option #5 USB Flasher and a DAF installer utility. Or you can flash Clockwork Mod Recovery via option#5 USB Flasher and then booting ifnto CWM via option#8 AD Recovery. then using install zip from sdcard. You have to have a MAGLDR compatible ROM though, which is most ROM now anyway.
But as you can see you have to be abale to scroll with your volume up and down buttons to do any of this, so I really don't know what to tell you. I will wait for your next post before giving any further suggestions.
Hi, Tried installing my first Nexus ICS Android on HTC HD2
following instruction here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860
Got to the point where I got MAGLDR v1.13 installed and running.
Then found that I needed HD2 Android NAND Tool and Repartitioned System size to 200 Mb
using USB flasher mode on the MAGLDR.
Then NAND Tool suggested that running Wipe(taks 29) to be a good idea before attempting to install Android so I tried running this as well.
I got the phone into tri-colour USB mode and started wipe. USB mode disappeared replaced by HTC progress bar but it got stuck at 0% and timedout.
I tried recovering to HTC original WWE ROM but it also gets stuck at 0% progress.
Currently Bootloader starts and loads a options, I can also go into USB mode but nothing will start updating the phone it gets stuck at 0%.
I think what repartitioning created a problem but I am unsure how to recover it and need your help!

Wrong forum, should be in the Q&A. You'd have thought it would be obvious, seeing as you're asking a QUESTION, but somehow people don't pick that up
Also, you really need to read more. There isn't any point in installing MAGLDR then Task29ing, in fact there is very little point in Task29ing at all unless you experience major problems with your phone. A simple data wipe (in CWM) and repartition has never failed me.
If you did a task 29 after doing the other steps first then you wiped everything back off. Install magldr again then CWM and then install your rom of choice.
Also for being a member since 2005 you should know not to EVER post a question in development.
Mods please move to Q&A

Many thanks for the comments...I cannot install anything at present because once update process starts it times out at 0%. Task29 did not work either - it also gets stuck at 0%.
Only thing that works is Boot loader and USB mode.
As Boot loader is working I tried to install NAND Android following this instruction:
2. FLASH YOUR ANDROID ROM
The Original NAND Android Thread by Cotulla is *HERE*
NOTE1: This section is only applicable AFTER you have flashed MAGLDR to your Device
NOTE2: Make sure your phone is still connected via usb cable before starting
* When your phone Reboots it will Enter the MAGLDR Boot Menu Screen *
1. Press the 'Volume Down' button to goto Option 5: USB Flasher and press the 'Call' button (far left of the 5 hardware buttons at the bottom)
2. The menu will enter Android Flasher mode and install usb drivers if not present
3. Browse to the folder you extracted your NAND Android Package files to on your pc, right click on Run DAF.exe (or Install.exe if DAF.exe isnt present) and select Run as Administrator
But DAF is giving this error back:
Error happen
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723)
thats all old instructuions.
go get the nand toolkit, and also get hspl3
...
phone into bootloader (tri colour screen, not magldr)
connect usb
run hspl3
choose 2.08.hspl (don't assume its already 2.08.hspl, check it, hanging at 0% is often a sign of no hspl)
when reboots immediately go back into bootloader
*(* from here on you can do all this in the nand toolkit*)*
flash magldr
when it reboots enter magldr
(if phone hangs on a htc screen and doesn't show magldr, you need to flash radio 2.15.50)
phone into magldr
connect usb
choose 'usb flasher'
in toolkit select desired system partition size and cache size
when its finished
phone back into magldr
choose 'ad nand'
this starts cwm
(if you havent yet partitioned your sd card with an ext partitio, look ity up and do it now)
select 'install zip from sd'
select zip from sd
browse to where you dropped the rom.zip file onto your sd card.
when it reboots you're done, , alternatively it failed somewhere, , which step?
if you get apparent driver errors, theres a nice big button called drivers in the toolkit (i think?)
Many thanks that worked like clockwork
Earlier today my custom ROM froze. I rebooted the phone by taking the battery out and the phone would only go as far as the Magldr screen where it says "Go Go Go", no matter how many times I tried, the ROM wouldn't boot.
So I wiped my phone with Task29 (even tried installing an original WM6.5 ROM), and tried to reinstall Magldr and a new ROM. However, after I run Task29 and Magldr and turn the phone on, only the white HTC screen displays. I could not get the phone to display the Magldr menu.
Finally after repeating the above a couple of times, I managed to get the Magldr menu to display, but once I install the CM Recovery and enter AD Recovery to install the new ROM, Magldr again gets stuck after displaying 'Go Go Go!'.
I also note that as the phone boots up into Magldr, one of the lines say "nand kernel open failed".
Any idea what is happening and why I cannot boot into Ad Recovery (or my ROM) and always get stuck on 'Go Go Go!'?
