Is there a custom Rom or custom patch that will allow the A500 to utilize the DUN/PAN bluetooth profile? I really like this tab, but I am very disappointed that it does not support this like my Galaxy tab does.
Wrong forum.
Sorry I posted here since I thought it was development related.
Moving to General.
PS: Every Q? thread should be posted in General.

Hello and good afternoon all. Usually I dislike posting, Just because 99% of the time its found elsewhere. But after a quick search of the word cyanogenmod in both the xoom general and xoom QA sections. I couldn't find my answer.
Anyways, I keep seeing posts where everyone is so excited about the cyanogenmod coming to the Xoom, How its the most popular rom, Etc etc etc. My question is; What does CM9 offer exactly in comparison to whats already offered by teamEOS' rom's?
Being relatively new to the android world and only having one android device (my xoom) The only thing custom rom wise i've used would have to be TeamEOS' (formally Tiamat) moray rom and odachi kernel. So could someone please tell me what makes CM so great and so popular with everyone? if you dont mind of course.
Firstly I would just like to say that I am eternally grateful to the devs for choosing to share their work here and I have no complaints (other then one) and I think the work the do is amazing, without them we would be stuck on carrier firmware and out of date software/features so much respect!
My issue is and personally think this is long overdue is that we REALLY need a global (or in least the GS2 section) XDA naming convention/rule or forum addon for adding rom threads so that all rom topic titles are consistent and uniformed.
I probably say this and think about it more because my 2 previous daily devices were the immortal (and best ever smartphone) HTC HD2 and the Galaxy Tab (P1000) and in these forums all dev topics were pretty uniform and all rom/kernel topics has date stamp at front of title so that people browsing section could easily see at a glance if there had been any updates to their roms or in general for people like me who have ORD.
Other sections though like S2 seem to be completely random and its more of a pain to look through roms and the "at a glance" checking of rom updates is completely non-existent.
IMO we really need a rule set of posting topics in dev section as far as rom/kernel releases goes, for example..
[DATE][ROM/KERNEL] Rom Title [Version][Extra Info]
Obviously thats just a quick example but really think the first 2 sections (ie date/type] should be mandatory at front so that all dates/types are in line. Anywhere else and they all just go completely random.
Agree/Disagree , why, thoughts?
:good:
Thoughts? Sure, site-wide rule suggestions don't belong in device sub-forums.

Well it was in the least just for our forum since mods can create per section rules, however the rule could be made global ideally.
Let me start off by saying thanks everyone~ I am absolutely addicted to this site..... (dont know if thats good or bad)
1) In the Google Edition rom does anyone know if there is a "dock" mode. In the TW roms there you navigate to my device>accessory> Then you have audio output mode. This enables me to listen to my music in the car utilizing the ibolt car dock.
2) Any suggestions on a lockscreen widget or conversion to TW rom that acts like the AOSP roms lockscreen? I like to unlock to phone feature from lockscreen.
General statement I am currently using Goldeneye rom and found that if you flash the ausdim v4 kernel it improves benchmark results drastically. Phone seems to be little snappier. May be a figment of my imagination.... maybe it is..... Just wanted to see if anyone else had tried such and had similar results.
thanks again everyone
wrong section needs to go to Q&A--mod will move
there is GE rom in dev section--check it out
Thread moved please post in the correct section in the future.

Thread cleaned. Quit with the disrespectful replies and posts.
And, for those who want to be moderators but are not, quit trying to post stuff that only aggravates the situation. Those type of posts are called trolling and regardless of what good you think you are doing, you aren't helping matters.
Either post helpful and contributory posts, or do not post at all.
Now, the moderator here says back to development.
Hello,
support for energy saving BT 4.0 standard was proudly introduced with Android 4.3 and the S4 supports it hardware-wise.
Unfortunately, as I learned, Android delivers improper BT4-stacks to be able to connect a BT LE- device to the S4 (and others as well).
Third party apps like "BLE Heart Rate Monitor" and others seem to override/correct it (somehow) as they can connect to the BT LE device.
Does any developer think to take a look at this?

I intentionally posted it here, as this is the place where the devs and ROM-Makers show their work.
So, I guess that many/most devs don't know about this as BT4-devices are not so popular yet, but will be.
Dear xda-developer, I am new member of the community, so if my question has been discussed in the past i do apologies.
I recently got a Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT8010. The performance is unbearable. Browsing the web, playing YouTube it is lagging everywhere badly. So i have decided to put a custom ROM on it, hoping that it would fix my lagging issues. I think I know how to get the ROM on my device, but I would like to know which ROM should I get. In the "Galaxy Note 10.1 Android Development" section of the forum there is a handful of available ROMS. In every thread in the first post it says beta(implying that is not for a daily use).... and there is no general description of what the ROM is suppose to do, and is it in a condition for a daily use.
I know that is not an official software, so crashing every once in a while is fine. I am not going to use it for work, or have any crucial information on it, Just media consumption in general.-browser,video player, YouTube.
I would be very thankful to any options and recommendations to which ROM would be the best for my situation.
Regards, Xonar12
P.S. If any of the Android Nougat are decent I would prefer them first, to any older versions.
I am also interested like hell! Please vote! Thanks.
