The threaded e-mail have been discussed in a number of forums. I have read them all. However, none addressed the issue with COM2 and it seems it is not possible at all.
I tried cooking (using OS Builder) with various combination.
Have anyone successfully cooked the threaded e-mail, especially for COM2 (21916) and willing to share their experiences?
Thank you
I noticed something new with threaded email recently.
I have exchange active sync on the devices through exchange server, and using outlook 2010 on the desktop with office mobile 2010 on the device.
There was no way I could get threaded email to work on the device itself, however when I set conversation mode on in outlook desktop, my device also switched to conversation mode by itself.
I was able to get the tmail.exe that has threaded email to work on COM2; however, since the app itself is designed for COM3, it didn't fit and everything was out of place. Long story short, unless someone wants to take apart the tmail.exe and redo it for COM2, it's not possible. I think people have just settled with COM3, haha. Too bad there are no HTC WVGA English devices for COM3. The keyboard and stuff is still not proper when ported from COM2, and other stuff too, of course.

SE X2? And some more...
having some strange troubles with this on com3 as well. i can add threaded mail to my rom via cab, right after boot before a mail-sync has happened. works great.
but whenever i try to cook it, inbox doesn't open. doesn't matter if i use files or modules or if it's the very last package to be added.
anyone had success on com3?

Sorry, particularly meant HTC devices. I should have clarified. Some HTC packages just have not been designed for COM3 yet. Like the Ez Input keyboard works in COM3, but still has some problems, since it is designed for COM2. Chinese ROMs have the chinese EZ Input. Still looking for English EZ Input in COM3. If there are English HTC WVGA COM3 ROMs out there, I want 'em!
You know another thing along with Threaded Email, that I'd like to have in COM2? It's the ability to move around the start menu items like in COM3. That would be awesome.

Does anyone know of a quick way to select multiple SMS/MMS recipients (instead of having to insert each contact individually) under Windows Mobile 2003 for Smartphones (2nd edition)? I’m fairly certain this can’t be done through the OS itself and so I’m assuming some third-party software will be required (this is fine).
Symbian Series 60 implements this perfectly. When composing an SMS/MMS it presents your contact list and allows you to check off those whom you want to receive the message. Then, after you’ve chosen those recipients, it walks you through all of them and if a contact has more than one number it presents you with those numbers and lets you choose which to use. The entire process is very fluid and you get the sense that there isn’t a more efficient way to go about it. Indeed, I couldn’t come up with a faster method (though the ability to specify a “default” message number would obviate the need to choose which number to use).

Hi!
I've made a small application that sends SMS messages to the Outlook groups. I can make a new version where you can choose what ever contacts you want...I'll keep you posted....

Best regards
Øystein
Can you please test this and give me some feedback on how it works.........? I've only tested it on a HTC Artemis.

How do you add a group?
Google for mcc Mass message
I'm using the build in "Categories" in Outlook.
Open a Contact and edit it.
Browse down to the "Categories"
Create a new Category.

Works great! I've tested it on a HTC Artemis.

Works very well on Universal (o2 exec). Will it be possible to have a scroll bar in the contact list. Presently it scrolls only with the down key not a major issue though.
On my Artemis I've got a horisontal scrollbar at the bottom. On WM 5.0 Pocket PC's you can also use the left\right arrow keys. You can also browse the contacts with the keyboard keys...
Try downloading the nevest version, I believe I fixed the scrollbar issue in v1.3.

Thanks a lot. Please keep up the good work!
Great little app! Now I can notify my complete mailing list with text messages as well
I have threaded SMS application. Would there be a conflict if I installed this program??
Thanks
Ammar
Never tried the "threaded SMS" application so I don't know the answer to your question...
All GroupSMS does is to start the buildt in messaging application and set multiple receivers in the "To" field.
Øystein
Just installed and looks good. One question.... Any way you can add a counter on the number of recipients selected?
Thanks for a great util!
Please I ask of you great developers to gives us the cab for the threaded SMS of windows 6.1. I have a smartphone that does not have a 6.1 rom yet made for it but it does come with 6.0 and really dig the threaded SMS so I need a copy. I tired vito, I tired txtman, I even tried the Palm SMS and none of them worked correctly. This software will allow me to be more productive. Thank you.

as far as i am aware the 6.1 threaded text can not be run on 6.0.
use extreme text.
on Win Mobile 5 or 6 to get threaded SMS is
TxtMan 2.0 (Need to have .Net Framework ) or PocketCM
yes problem is I have tried all of them and none of those work right on my device.
what phone are u using?
Is there any way to get threaded SMS working on WM 6.0 without having to run a separate application? I would like to be able to replace the built in sms client with something capable of threaded sms, rather then having to deal with the pain of another application.

No that's not possible... ..you say you're using a Smartphone? What phone are you using? previous apps are ment for PPC or Windows Mobile Professional only.
well you have a smartphone, not the same as windows mobile, so regardless you don't have the proper device..
and threaded sms is?

Looks like IM messages...you see a thread type message with what has been said with that particular person before.
It IS possible. The Threaded SMS was ripped from Palm and replaces the ordinary SMS, with a few registry edits, it works amazing.
I disagree.. ..the Palm threaded SMS is ment for Windows Mobile Professional. Not for Windows Mobile Standard.
The TS uses a Smartphone (WM Standard), not a PocketPC (WM Pro.)
is there any way to make extreme text recognize MMS?
I was using extreme text before I had to HR and it recognized mms for me.
I have a Daxian x999 running windows mobile 6 pro. I just updated my wifes dash to 6.1 and I would really like to have a threaded SMS option that was seamless. Everything I have tried is too different and does not seem native enough. so I understand...
hello
how can we Disable all htc all people and activate WM OEM contact?
I applied zenyee SMS patch to disable htc messaging but now everywhere that i select send text message it does nothing since htc all people replaced the WM OEM messaging shortcuts, so if it is disabled everything relates to original Windows contacts and it will be ok!
when i disable manila everything works fine!
thanks for helping
no body
+1
Looks like HTC messaging is deeply integraded with manilla. Or developers don't care about removing this stuff completly since HTC Messaging is simply slow.

first you have not identified what ROM you are using. so difficult to help you.
it not depends on ROM. HTC messaging is slow and buggy on all roms.
But try to help with 6.5.1 ROM + Manilla 2.5

well i tried almost all roms here! but when htc messaging have more than 20 msg it is going to slow the device , it is not that HD is slow or weak , if you look on LEO forum you see people have problem already! so htc messaging is buggy and it is useless, but when I disable it using zenyee patch all the shourtcuts in ex. dialer all people contacts that have send text mesasage function also broken. so all people shouyld be disabled and WM OEM contact should handle the things! thats why i want to disable all people! -- I think it has something to do with registry! --
no body know the solution? I just want to disable HTC People on manila 2.5 and everywhere in windows so it is like it was never there!
no one has found a solution?
pls....
thank you..
bump for a solution!
I'm with you.
remove HTC messaging completly out from the system.
pleease
+1 here. "Send Message" just doesn't work anymore..
+1 no manila sms and no manila contacts
+1.
manila integration is slow and crashes.
The only way to do this is disabling the htc messaging client but then i loose the ability to send mms!
Any other way?
Thanks!!

you can use arcsoft mms....next time it would help us help you more if you would post more information like what device you are cooking for, ect.
mmm I guess he is referring at the new User experience in 6.5.X that when a sms comes it dont takes you to the threaded conversation when tap on reply... in fact it takes you to a single sms mode of review
I dont know how to come back to old style but maybe that is intended to stay as is cause its one of the goals from Microsoft to be like that... cheers

I want to return to the message view as it was in my omnia i900 (microsoft style) without htc message menu and htc background in messages.
I succeded this by deleting htc messaging client but then i dont have mms option then.
I googled and i see there are many people with the same issue.
When you disable htc message style and return to microsoft message style you loose the mms option.
Any ideas?
Thank you both for your answers.!!
Microsoft does not support MMS , for that you need messaging Client Arcsoft as TPC said.

I have been a long time user of PhoneLog which logs all calls and sms messages into your calendar. Excellent app.
The only issue is that with 6.5.5 /Sense 2 it does not seem to log SMS's anymore
Does anyone have a similar app. It logs it in real time and ends up on my work calendar via Exchange active sync.
im not familar with anything personally, but it sounds like a cool idea and i would be interested to know aswell.
by the way... are you using the HTC Messaging Client or the stock WinMo one? i wonder if that would make any difference to the performance of PhoneLog.
Its a thought.
Messages are still finally stored in the Winmo messaging client. The HTC one is just a skin however the phonelogs triggers may be blocked by HTC.
working
Can this cab and it seems to be working again.

Thanks for the tip lamensterms
you say 'can' this .CAB? do you mean trash/ditch the .CAB, or use that .CAB?
ha ha, im not trying to be a jerk... just not sure if you had a typo or not.
i do use that .CAB seeing as i couldnt agree with the HTC client.
glad you got it going, now i think ill have to check PhoneLog out.
cheers.
Typo. Cab worked fine.
Phone log = http://www.infinityball.com/phonelog/
Now is logging incoming messages but not outgoing.
I have tried using threaded view or single message view. Same issue. Better thou.
Also Sense now fails to acknowledge that the sms has been read. That might be a deal breaker.
Is there a util which can back up messages to calendar once a day/week?

while using the stock WM sms client... it is a know issue for Sense to keep displaying the notification bubble on the SMS tab. i experience this problem very rarely (so rarely that it is hardly a problem for me). i think it might have been discussed in the thread where you retrieved zenyee's .CAB, but i cannot remember for sure.

after some quick google "research"... it seems there are other apps similar to phonelog available for blackberry and android... but phonelog may be the only one of its kind for WM.
here is a request on another (microsoft) forum - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/outlook/thread/66e9160d-46ed-452c-91fa-6f3a6a88f86d
there are other folk out there who share your request. maybe some further integration could be on the horizon.
let me know how you go with HTC messaging VS WINMO.
cheers.
