Last night I went to Fry's Electronics to pick up a case or sleeve for my Transformer and there was absolutely nothing on the shelf for it. Next choice was to protect the screen from scratches with either a screen protector or even taking the plunge with the keyboard dock. There were plenty of accessories for the Iconia Tab, Galaxy Tab, Xoom, etc, but I am starting to become irritated with Asus' inability to provide adequate supplies. Anyone else return their other brand in favor for the Transformer and are now feeling burned?
I feel your pain. I was looking online for a case and a screen protector and could only find one style of case for the Transformer, which is also made by Asus. I was actually able to get the case through Newegg for 20.00 as it was an open box, which made me happy. I paid 9.95 with shipping for the screen protector which came with three of them through Amazon. As the Transformer is a new product I'm sure we will see more accessories come available. I love the transformer and quite honestly have no desire to give it up due to the current lack of accessories.
Think yourself lucky, in my country all high street retailers are committing commercial suicide by only stocking ipod/iphone/ipad accessories.
One day when it's far too late, will they wake up that everyone is simply shopping online to buy what they can't/won't provide...
I feel for you. I looked around and everything I saw was for iOS devices. Hardly anything for our tablet.
Your probably only choice is to buy online.
I wish there was a gel case for it but there isn't. That's probably my biggest gripe with the device and a lot of people here have dropped it and permanently recessed the power or volume buttons as a result. This could be avoided if we had a decent gel case.
For the screen protector I just buy a pack of $3.00 XOOM protectors. They don't fit flush with the screen but good enough.
Amazon is your friend!!! I would suggest eBay, but I've gotten burned to many times!!!

Not to be a shill and I realize this is online only, but rooCASE Multi-Angle (Black) Leather Folio Case Cover for Asus Eee Pad Transformer 10.1-Inch TF101 Android Tablet Wi-Fi, is actually a fantastic case for the price. Check it out at Amazon, I'd post a link, but I have yet to meet my 8 post threshold.
Guys, wise up a little and go on a little hunt. If anyne lives in a city that's worthwhile go hit up microcenter, best buy, frys, heck even staples. Take your transformer in with you and slip it into cases until you find somthing that fits nicely. Just look for generic 10.1" netbook or tablet cases/sleeves.
I spent about 15 minutes going through the cases at my local microcenter and found a belkin case for $15 that fits the tablet and dock ****ing perfectly.
Now as far as screen protectors, cables, and anything else. the market sucks...

Just scored this case from Amazon - only $30usd - quite well made and really fits our tablets well. Does not block either camera or light sensor - and my mic seems to be working fine with the tablet in the case.

i second this case. Since I have bought it I have been more than happy with its quality and functionality. I also have had people remark about it, and exclaim when they realized they payed more for a lower quality case.
Is this case available on ebay??....

I'm also going to say, having just got my roocase today and having returned one of the official Acer cases, this case is great. It's pretty bulky, but it's a good kind of bulk, and it feels extremely sturdy. I wish it could lay flatter but at an angle.. as it is, it'll go to about forty degrees from flat, and thirty would've been better, but it's still way better than the official case unless you really want something lightweight, which I do have to give that one to Acer.

I can't figure out if this is different from the rooCase "Slim Fit".
I don't like the typical bulk of the full folio-style cases, I'm wondering if the "Slim Fit" case (or the Blurex, as they look almost identical) is a nice middle ground, as the Acer case has not been received well for its durability/life expectancy (and smell/fuzz collection attributes).
Do any of these cases ship to india??

I recently purchased the RooCase from Amazon, and after about a week of use I'm still extremely pleased with it.
I posted a review on Amazon about it.
I looked at a few other cases, but this one is really great quality of materials and construction and is very well designed.
It does add a little bulk, but as stated it s the good kind of bulk that tells you you don't have to guard your tablet now.
How about this one:www dhgate com/pv-ff80808130ff1696013107bbfd385168.html
Any one used it and can post a review?
Sorry i'm a new here
Why not a slim fit case?
Sllim fit case for my Iconia...
Probably because we didn't want the slim fit case? (Thought it is also nice)
(There is a thread for that one, BTW.)
After carrying mine around for a while I'm still extremely pleased with it.
This thing is a winner.
Just got this case yesterday and all I can say so far is that I love it. Secure, great quality and very practical. Highly recommended.
So I finally said "Dang it, I'm treating myself to some new tech." and picked up a Transformer.
First one I got from Best Buy and upon opening in I found a minor scratch. Granted it was very small but I don't think it should come from the factory like that. Box was sealed with the side tapes.
I got the second one that same day and noticed a small defect on that glass, almost like pitting. That one was returned in the scramble to find one locally I could use the infamous $100 Staples coupon on. Box was sealed also.
Just today I drove a 1/2 hour from my office to pick up a keyboard dock and a Transformer from another Best Buy. Turns out the dock is a B50 which I wasn't crazy about but figured I could at least try it out and return it later. After setting it aside and opening the Tablet, I found several defects on that glass also. There's a pitted spot twice the size of the second one, a few scratches on the glass around the edges not on the screen, and what appears to be a 2 to 3 inch light scratch on the left side. This box was also sealed.
So I ask: What the heck? 3 tablets in a row with screen defects? Is my luck that crappy or is it an issue with the tablets? All three were B60s so you'd think the build quality would be better.
thoughts?

i think i'm seeing more and more B60 unit has defects. my friend just got a B60 from amazon and the screen has a slightly yellowsih color. however, he then got another B60 from office depot, and that one is perfect ... no squeaky bezel, very minimal light bleed, and great screen
It's rather unfortunate but using cheap labor in China leads to these issues. To get our 'toys' at a price we want to pay then this is the side effect.
Been to Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, Staples, Target, Office Depot, Office Max and Walmart and am unable to find a reasonably priced case for my tab. Even the expensive ones are crap. The Targus Truss is widely available but too expensive for what it is and really not great at all. I can't remember all the other options I've man-handled in the past 48 hrs. At this point in my frustration, I'm looking for a generic zippered case that has a slightly hardened front and back cover (I realize it's just stiff cardboard). Ideally, I'm looking for black/dark (read not pink, yellow etc.) with edges slightly past the ends of tab. The closure doesn't matter (zippered, magnetic, velcro). There can be a bit of extra room if need be but not so much that the tab rattles around and causes imbalance in bag. A bit of protection from slight bumps or scratches would be nice but not something that can be flung across room. Currently my tab resides in a bubble padded mailing envelope that I can't recall who mailed to my house. Any ideas?
Yea I want a hot pink leather tight fitting.Acer case like but real quality
Gotta love hot pink
same size
Since its the same size of some of the others, how about looking on ebay? Its flooded with some for ones the same size.
I use a soft case that came with a laptop set. Has a Velcro strap in it, and it fits snug into it and enough spots for chargers, pad of paper, pens, etc. I'll try to update this with a pic later.
And its pink...lol
in thailand we do not have accessories...
so far just official case (and not easy to find)
no film protection for screen
have to wait one more month for get the cable very expensive
no spare part at all .... (better buy a new tablet than to repair it seems...)
and if wanna buy from amazon or else... 300% taxes... woOooow
and worst of it... not a lot of choices GENUINE
I want the TDP case... and a SCREEN SHIELD!!!

Yeah, right now this is what I'm considering on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/Carrying-Bag-Case-Cover-Apple-Ipad-ACER-A500-Iconia-/330595484639?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item4cf906c3df
Kind of a shot in the dark as they don't give dimensions. If I get it, I'll probably cut out the net pocket.
I'm just curious as to how everyone travels/totes around their A500? I'm currently using the official Acer case without a screen protector (I believe the A500 has gorilla glass?). I see quite a few people with iPad2's that don't use any sort of case and I was just wondering how everyone travels with the A500 seeing that it is much heavier and larger than an iPad already without a case.
I just slap it in my bag and whip it out whenever I'm bored.
No, I don't use any screen protectors or cases or such.
I use a screen protector and a leather case which I brought from e-bay.
Also use a back pack to carry my ACER A500 and a portable 3g MiFi router.
At home I don't use a case but when traveling I put it in a TPD case like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Skque-Clear-C...EY/ref=sr_1_58?ie=UTF8&qid=1329414069&sr=8-58
When it goes into luggage I have this holder:

Mines always in its Crown folio case that I got from Amazon; Sometimes I'll take it out and about with me in just that but most of the time I also put it in a Targus netbook case that also has a Bluetooth mouse and a HP TouchPad Bluetooth keyboard in it (everything fits in easily and Snugly).
The netbook case makes it really easy to to carry my Iconia around, I just put the strap over my shoulder and around my neck and use it like a little backpack, once its on I hardly even notice the weight.

I snagged a Belkin case at Target on some super close-out deal. All cameras, mics, ports, buttons, etc are accessible, and it has multiple options for propping up to a good viewable angle. Sure, it adds to the thickness of the tablet, but when you're out and about, it's awesome to have an extra modicum of protection. I'm always VERY careful of electronic devices, but accidents happen. 2 weeks after my purchase, I dropped my A500 onto a parking lot. No damage, no issues, etc. So, it paid for itself and any inconvenience right there.
Hope this isn't off limits to us a501 users.
I use a custom made leather case/wrap for mine. I worried about it at -30c, as I often have to wait for the transport, but it's pretty sturdy. Always starts up with no issues.
Every week or so, I wipe the display with the supplied cloth.
here ya go. best option in my opinion... and i use a netbook shoulder bag to carry

uuuum... by train mostly!
At home I like to show off the tablets beauty so I use a silver metal tripod stand, but for travel I use a fully covered leather case, and I always have my screen protector on since the day I got it, to keep it scratch free for a long time to come. I spoil this baby.
I don't have a proper case or screen protector, but my A500 is still in pristine condition. I travel all the time with my tab in a neoprene sleeve (similar to this one) shoved into my well padded laptop backpack. My bluetooth keyboard has its own case which doubles as a stand, and my bluetooth mouse also has its own neoprene case. Simple and effective
I have to say again, the cases that double as a multi-position stand REALLY make a tablet experience a pleasure. On a desk at work, or even lying on a couch, set the thing at a good viewing angle and you're good to go.
I have a TPU case that I leave on mine at all times. No screen protector of any sort, I tried a couple and they seemed to degrade the viewing quality. When I'm out and about I carry it all in a Timbuk2 netbook messenger. I think it was actually for an IPad 2, but I cut out the sleeve and altered it to fit my Acer and then sewed it back in the bag. Pretty much water-proof and I can throw it over my shoulder and take it with me when I'm on my bike.
I have the official Acer case with a few added pieces of velcro.
As far as the screen being gorilla glass, I have a scratch on mine, about 3/4 inch long on the bottom left, so they're not impervious to scratches.

The scratch sucks .. There are buffing compounds that might help get that out if its not to deep..
Lucky for my i have a skinomi screen protector on my tablet.. been on it since a week or two after i bought the thing. week before last dumb ass me scratched the protector about 3 inches long right near the center of the screen. I was so worried it had scratched the screen but could tell it did not go thru. So i went to manufacture website printed filled out and faxed a one page simple form to the manufacturer. Got email back from then the following morning with a tracking number. It came with a shipping label to ship the damaged protector back.. So im all happy again..
Back on topic . i have a very thin pinkish red case that i keep my Iconia in. it give not much protection but still lets me put the tablet in not so super large Purse. I Use it quite alot waiting in doctor offices and so on. I have had about 175 doctor visits in the last year. including the physical therapy.Pre and surgery visits (THOSE SUCK). so my tablet has been a awesome device to keep my sanity while waiting .Thou they do not allow it in MRI Machine.. grrrrrr how lame is that. its boring in that tunnel. I love my tablet to say the least.
My A500 has the standard Acer synthetic case but no screen protector. When I go out and about, it's protected by an 11' carry bag.
The only gripe I have is that I sometimes carry the AC adapter with an extension cable in a separate bag.
Acer take note: I hope the next model has a decent length cable for the AC adapter.

ROM: MIUI-XJ v2.2.10 (D2EXT X-PART)
Recovery: 4EXT Classic

Im a case nut, I have 3 cases, a white leather bold standby, an acer black rubberized one that folds into a stand, a smokey grey tpu case that is on it most of the time always has a screen protector, and I have a black Kroo messenger bag that I use to transport it and all of its stuff. (it has a lot of stuff)
I love my Iconia, and I spoil the crap out of it.

looks like a great deal
Your link is a middleman that says "from $3", but then you get to Amazon and nothing is $3.. more like $20
To early to buy a case, need time to let other makers get them going so there are more choices.
You enter the discount code for the corresponding case in the promo code/gift card field in Amazon's checkout. I bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case from Spigen direct (Ships from and sold by Spigen Inc.) for $2.80 last night and got the shipping confirmation and tracking number today. Like I'm going to play wait-and-see with $2.80.
You need to enter the promo code for the corresponding item to get the promotional price. I bought 2 cases for about $5. spigen is a legit case company, better than your average obscure Chinese random case maker, you can't beat this deal, especially for a brand new/unreleased phone
I bought a cause for $3 shipped yesterday, even if I end up not buying the phone you can't pass up a deal like that!
you can throw in a 3 months of spotify for $1 total too: https://www.spotify.com/us/premium/
Damn, the deal expired. Still, those cases look pretty good. Even for 11-15 bucks I might end up checking that brand out. At least my screen protector came today. From the looks of it FedEx seems to be delivering the phone tomorrow even though ATT said it would be delivered Friday. Can't wait to play with the new toy!
I got the Spigen Slim Armor case. After using it for 2 days, I'm very impressed. It looks great and feels high quality. Definitely seems like plenty of protection from drops. The fit is perfect, and all of the ports are cleanly cut, smooth, and exactly where they should be. $23.98 shipped. Midrange cost, but well worth the money IMO.

I guess that means it fits with a leather back eh? I noticed some of their cases on the spigen website state that they dont fit with the leather back but it didnt say anything on the Slim Armor page, so I figued it did fit. I've always bought Spigen Slim Armor, I love them. And I like that this one has a kickstand.
I've always been happy with Spigen cases. I started with the S4, then the G2, G3, and soon to have one for the G4. Not sure which I will buy for the G4. For the G3, I purchased 3 different cases, all from Spigen: the clear bumper, the very thin case that added no bulk, but no real protection, and the slim armor. The slim armor has been my favorite over the various phones I've had. I like the two-tone color scheme with white and black.
These are way old. Wait another month. Spigen has these deals on Amazon all the time.
How are these cases? I've seen this name thrown around a lot over the last couple years. I always bought PureGear's Dualtek (as it's hardcore drop resistant since I drop my phone a lot) but they've been beginning to get too bulky for me as phones I'm buying are getting bigger. Is this case worth buying?
