looks like a great deal
Your link is a middleman that says "from $3", but then you get to Amazon and nothing is $3.. more like $20
To early to buy a case, need time to let other makers get them going so there are more choices.
You enter the discount code for the corresponding case in the promo code/gift card field in Amazon's checkout. I bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case from Spigen direct (Ships from and sold by Spigen Inc.) for $2.80 last night and got the shipping confirmation and tracking number today. Like I'm going to play wait-and-see with $2.80.
You need to enter the promo code for the corresponding item to get the promotional price. I bought 2 cases for about $5. spigen is a legit case company, better than your average obscure Chinese random case maker, you can't beat this deal, especially for a brand new/unreleased phone
I bought a cause for $3 shipped yesterday, even if I end up not buying the phone you can't pass up a deal like that!
you can throw in a 3 months of spotify for $1 total too: https://www.spotify.com/us/premium/
Damn, the deal expired. Still, those cases look pretty good. Even for 11-15 bucks I might end up checking that brand out. At least my screen protector came today. From the looks of it FedEx seems to be delivering the phone tomorrow even though ATT said it would be delivered Friday. Can't wait to play with the new toy!
I got the Spigen Slim Armor case. After using it for 2 days, I'm very impressed. It looks great and feels high quality. Definitely seems like plenty of protection from drops. The fit is perfect, and all of the ports are cleanly cut, smooth, and exactly where they should be. $23.98 shipped. Midrange cost, but well worth the money IMO.

I guess that means it fits with a leather back eh? I noticed some of their cases on the spigen website state that they dont fit with the leather back but it didnt say anything on the Slim Armor page, so I figued it did fit. I've always bought Spigen Slim Armor, I love them. And I like that this one has a kickstand.
I've always been happy with Spigen cases. I started with the S4, then the G2, G3, and soon to have one for the G4. Not sure which I will buy for the G4. For the G3, I purchased 3 different cases, all from Spigen: the clear bumper, the very thin case that added no bulk, but no real protection, and the slim armor. The slim armor has been my favorite over the various phones I've had. I like the two-tone color scheme with white and black.
These are way old. Wait another month. Spigen has these deals on Amazon all the time.
How are these cases? I've seen this name thrown around a lot over the last couple years. I always bought PureGear's Dualtek (as it's hardcore drop resistant since I drop my phone a lot) but they've been beginning to get too bulky for me as phones I'm buying are getting bigger. Is this case worth buying?

I'm in the market for a new case since the $3 one I bought on Ebay is starting to peel finish. I'm looking for the thinnest, slickest case out there.
What case are you using?
Do you like it?
How much was it?
Where did you buy it?
Pictures?
THX!
well i would like to know this as well.
However i can enlighten you on how horrible the body glove case from sprint is. it looked great and was loving the feel until after a week, pulled it out of my pocket to find the case was broke where the volume rocker is. needless to say it looked and felt good but all in all i do NOT recommend it to anyone.

Mine did exactly the same thing, lasted about two weeks.
Funny, I ordered one of the $3.00 ones off of Ebay to replace it.
Actually I got mine on Amazon... forgot. This is the case I bought and while it is pretty thin and fits well, the paint job is totally shotty and now looks horrible:
http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Rubberized-Snap-Seamless-Design/dp/B003TMIFEY/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_2_2
I bought the white and chrome case from Sprint when I got the phone. I have had my phone since the release day for the EVO and the case still looks brand new. I really like the leather feel, and the chrome accents add to the overall beauty of the phone. I would recommend the case to anyone!
A guy I work with bought this one on Ebay about 2 weeks ago and says he's still happy with it:

That Seido case looks bulky no? I'm looking for something that doesn't add to the already large footprint of this thing in my pocket.
How about the Otterbox cases.. anyone have experience with them on other devices (not out yet for the evo)

My buddy has a well-worn one on his iPhone that has been through hell and still looks good.

i have the body glove universal holder from radio shack which works for me. however, i am looking at getting the Seidio Innocase holster case combo... which is a steal on amazon as the case itself is $30 at sprint and the combo is $30 on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-Innoca..._1_4?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1282702286&sr=8-4
i already tried the case and its nice and fits inside the body glove holder too, snuggley like pigs in a blanket at ihop.
Shouldn't this be in the Accessories forum?
(Black TPU case FTW.)
Yep... should be in accessories thread... my bad.
Are the otterbox cases thin though... I'm really looking for the thinnest case out there.
I always just wait for some YouTube reviews to pop up, shows me are how big the case is in real life. (Or as real as I care to get.)

Looking at the impact series case it doesn't look to be too bad. I really like the looks of the bottom two cases, so I signed up to be notified when they come out. I had the Sprint Body Glove case, had since release actually, but the volume rocker area just cracked last week. Lasted longer then most I suppose.
I've got the Seidio Innocase holder IceCreaMan linked to and it has been nice. It's got a nice texture, doesn't slide easily, isn't bulky, has a belt clip, and with the case on, it makes it so the camera doesn't stick out. It doesn't cover anything either so you still have your speakers, cameras, microphones, plugs, etc. Would definitely recommend it.
the Innocase II is a proven design in my opinion
its thin, and can take a drop (ive dropped mine from 8ft + onto concrete without any cracks in the case/damage to the phone)
I got a couple cheap cases from ebay; they're the clamshell design that has a front & back the snap together. They all felt too big and bulky though, so I got a Talon to replace 'em. Love it. Just snaps onto the back of the phone and protects the corners from drops and the camera from scratches when laying the phone on it's back. I have an InvisibleShield on the front to protect the touch screen from scratches.
The talon is almost like not having a case at all -- doesn't add much bulk to the phone.
And it's only 10 bucks.
Got my case today, I was a little worried because two days after I purchased it Ebay pulled all of the sellers listings and sent me a notice saying I could file a claim to get my money back. Since the seller had good feedback, and he had notified me that it had been shipped (from China), I decided to wait and see if it would show up, which it did.
I really like it, much better fit and quality than the Sprint body glove I had on my phone before. Time will tell if it lasts, but I have to say for $3.00, I am pretty impressed. It has a soft feel that gives a more secure feeling grip than the body glove, plus it is slightly thinner, but still protects the camera lens. Plus it is red, love the color.
Wish I could give a link to the one I got, the seller has put some of his cases back up, but no Evo cases yet.
Here is a link to a red rubberized hard case that looks very similar to the one I got.
Well, I ordered the Nexus 4 last week and have been lurking all over these forums since then. I need some help with picking a case. I have narrowed my choices down to the three very different ones listed below this paragraph. As you can see they all offer different pros and cons (at least to me). I'm trying to decide if function (keeping the phone from shattering) is more important than aesthetics (showing off that beauty and sleekness). Since I just dropped $350 for this device, I have been leaning heavily towards the former. I'm definitely open to other suggestions and I'm willing to spend up to $50. These are just the three that caught my eye.
Poetic Borderline Bumper Yellow- $10
The Good: Minimal bulk, I like the stylish yellow, low price, shows off the back
The Bad: Poor user reviews but Poetic claim it's been resolved, while it does have minimal bulk since it is just a bumper that means less protection, the poor reviews state that it falls apart in days or weeks. I know I should be weary but I love the look of the yellow on black with full view of the back.
Ringke Fusion - $16
The Good: Covers the back but still shows it off, low price, not much bulk, better protection than just a bumper
The Bad: I haven't been able to find many reviews. Reports that the clear back having that "wet" look.
Seidio Active with Kickstand - $35
The Good: the best protection out of these cases listed, has a kick stand (which I miss from my HTC EVO days), comes in many colors, I have one now for my Nexus S 4G and it's protected it well even though I'm not a huge fan of the bulk.
The Bad: Somewhat expensive, really bulky compared to the other two above, sort of ugly, the kickstand is cool but it does add some bulk. Reports of the wireless charging not working with it on (this isn't isn't an issue yet since I don't have a Qi but I plan to someday)
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance to all who have read this.

That's actually the one my wife was planning to get. I like the protection it gives but hate the bulk. I might also consider that one. I assume you have it? How much bigger/bulky does it make it feel?

From the three and you mentioned you wanted for protection, then Seidio is the way to go. I have always bought Active cases for my tablets and phones except this one. I haven't a need for that yet. I have had it for my past Sensation, Kindle Fire, and now Nexus 7. It's my daily case for my N7, but for the Sensation, it was my travel case.
In the later months, I opted for the "hybrid tpu" case for the Sensation which exposed the back, much like the Fusion. I am getting the Fusion now and getting a holster from Seidio to fit.
Bottom line, for travel and good protection, I'd go Active. Middle of the road would be the Fusion. I preface that by saying I have yet to receive my Fusion yet so take that with a grain of salt for now.
The hybrid case biggest fault are the feel of the buttons. Not wet. I believe the wet look come from those using screen protectors in the back.

Why didn't you just cut it yourself? Easy to do and no waiting time and of course it's for free
For those who have the Seidio active case and want to use their wireless charger? The issue is the metal kickstand which may or may not work with the Orb but I would not use it on my charging mat. I have the surface with metal kickstand. I bought the Acase superleggera pro case for $15 and it is similar to the seidio active and it works fine with my charging mat. I missed the holster so I asked a buddy (who has the active combo) to let me see if the Acase fit in the seidio active holster and guess what? It fits! It's a tiny bit tighter on the sides but still slides in and out pretty easily and the spring loaded clip works fine.
For those in this situation you may just want to spring for the case for 15 if you wirelessly charge.
http://www.amazon.com/Acase-Superle...58&sr=8-1&keywords=acase+superleggera+nexus+4
Which of these cases do you prefer? I've been considering both. Wireless charging is not an issue for me and will be carrying in my pocket
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda app-developers app
Just to be clear I have the surface which is less bulky than the active and the superleggera is closer to the active.
That said I would say the seido has a slight edge in quality however when you factor in the price, the superleggera is a better value!
The surface case is slimmer, still offers good protection and had a good grip. If you do not intend to charge wirelessly it is what I recommend.
You can get the best price on android central and put "save 15" in the coupon box to save 15%

Okay so I just need to iron out a few details, so if someone could help me that'd be great. The thing is, I live in India and my friend is going to the US and I'm asking him to pick up the phone for me from my cousin's house. But he's quite... dumb, so I want to clear out as much as I can from here.
1 - How long does RMA take these days? I know it used to take a few weeks when the demand was much higher but now I don't really know.
2 - Suppose my cousin's not at home when the delivery guy comes, will he have to contact the company to get the guy to come deliver it again?
3 - I'm going to ask my cousin to use the phone for a few days to check out if it's perfectly fine. What should I ask him to look out for?
Accessory questions :
1 - I'm thinking of using XtremeGuard full body protector + Diztronic black matte TPU case. Do these go well? Are there any better alternatives in this price range? My main priority is protection, aesthetics are secondary. I drop my phone a lot!
2 - I also want cheap, cheap ear buds. Are these my best bet? http://www.amazon.com/Maxell-190336-Crystal-Buds-Black/dp/B0027P9BN8/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Thanks!
1) There is no way to know how long it will take. It ships when it ships. It's any ones guess...
2) When it does ship, your account will receive an email from Google with a UPS tracking URL. Expect it will take 2 days, but check the URL each day, and when it's states it's "out for delivery", they will come between 09:00 and 18:00 local time. Here in NYC, they ring the bell once and only give you 15 seconds to get to them, then leave. They will try once more the next day, then it's off for an adventure to the UPS warehouse to hunt down the package.
3) Lots of existing threads on the common complaints (defects) users have had.

I almost bought the Diztronic but chose the ArmorBox instead. Very happy I did.
The ArmorBox fits perfectly, gives me a good grip on the phone, has a kickstand for watching videos, and most importantly........... protects the phone well.
It's only has 3 stars on Amazon because the early models didn't fit properly. Recent reviews are very positive.

Whoa! I like that case! Looks just as good as the Diztronic, plus provides dual layer protection. (I'm not sure whether dual layer is better than just a single layer of TPU, though) The reviews seem fantastic as well. This has just jumped up my preferred list.
Thanks! BTW, which screen protector are you using on your S3? Is the case peeling it off?

I don't think anybody does drop test videos with cases.
As for the ArmorBox being ugly, that's a matter of opinion.
Every other case has reviews complaining about slickness but not the ArmorBox. To each their own.
Edit: just reread the Acase reviews at amazon. Even buyers who give it 5 stars mention it's slippery.
Good luck with that.

Yup I guess it is a matter of opinion about the looks.
And yeah, I was sad that Acase is slippery. So what I was thinking was that since it's a dual layer case (where the hard case covers the tpu) I'll remove the outer layer (the hard case) when I'm setting it on an uneven surface. I think it might not slip if the tpu is in contact with the surface.
Thanks for your reply!
Morning all,
To all you UK oppo find 5 owners (I'm assuming I'm not the only one!) - have any of you come across a UK supplier selling accessories? I bought a case from ebay but it's coming from China and will take about 2 weeks to arrive. I quite fancy the flip cover being sold on oppo's official site but I think 35 Euros (includes delivery) is a bit steep.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Much the same as you unfortunately. I ordered a couple of cheap Nilkin (knockoff?) cases from eBay 2 weeks ago but still not received them. They don't protect the top and bottom so are really just for rear scratch prevention.
Yesterday I looked at loads on Aliexpres (China suppliers) and grabbed a rubbery TPU that at least covers all sides and has a little bit of impact protection. I've also gone for a couple of those Aluminium (read signal killer!) cases as they were on offer forĀ£22~ delivered compared to other places like Taobao agents or Casefanatic where the price is almost double.
Not sure we'll ever see UK sellers unless it's at inflated prices given it's not a mainstream phone. Might do a mini-round-up when/if they all arrive as it's hard to tell from just pics.
Here's my list...not really expecting any of them to be perfect. :cyclops:
eBay Nilkin
Alu case (ordered 1 black and 1 silver)
Plastic red snap-on (no idea if this will be decent or not)
TPU stretchy thing (might be good for grip with pattern?)
Bit of a shot in the dark with those but don't really see the Easy Cover worth the price given the top/bottom are exposed and I'm not a fan of wallet-type cases.

Received my Boost Mobile Sharp Aquos Crystal on October 16, 2014 and after a few hours of tinkering,
started shopping for the usual case / holster with belt clip and clear screen protectors. Here are what
I ordered on eBay for my new smartphone . I will promptly post reviews of each upon receipt:
Case / Holster $5.99 <Received 10/20/2014. stitching quality is decent but case is so tight, can hardly get phone in/out & zero padding inside case. Seller admitted size error, refunded.
Next, I ordered this case for $5.99 < This seller DID NOT send me the case as pictures in their eBay listing. They sent me a case that is too small for this phone AND has cutouts that would allow the corners of the phone to be damaged if dropped. Package label says case is for a Samsung phone, not this Sharp phone. I contacted seller, no response in past 24 hours. Ordered from a 2nd ebay seller with same results. My search for a GOOD case/holster continued.
NOVEMBER 6, 2014 UPDATE: Finally found a case/holster that IS THE CORRECT SIZE AND protects the ENTIRE Sharp Aquos Crystal: $7.95 case / holster.
Screen Protectors (pack of 6) for $1.99 < Received in 4 days & perfect fit for this phone. Note: Pull back Tab #2 slightly BEFORE applying to phone or you might not be able to remove it after you iron out the bubbles.
Both prices including free delivery in USA.

Its an adhesive phone skin and screen protector(I got the black carbon fiber). When shopping for it, I was a little apprehensive that it would look cheesy, but its way better than I hoped for. The way its cut comes right up to the chrome and makes it stand out. Its textured too, so its not just some cheap sticker. The good thing about it is you can still use a case. I didn't use the screen protector though; I don't know, my phone just want to show all its glassy glory. I got mine on Amazon for around $12. They also have woods and brushed metals.

Sure!
That actually looks terrific! I saw that and the other stick-on cases on Amazon you mentioned, but gave no second-thought since the manufacturer pictures looked chintzy and not worth it.
You know, that's what I thought too. But once I got it on, my son walked by on his way to the kitchen and was like "Wow." That's a lot coming from a 19 year old. The quality is way higher than I expected, a real high-end look and feel.
Late as this post is, anyone try the snap-on cases? I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OOGDRVK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Clear-Ice brand carbon-fiber snap-on case, sort of like a bumper case on the iPhone 5S. I do like the idea of the sticker thing, but it doesn't appeal to me, personally. I want the device more sealed in.
I'm getting my phone and case on the 10th, so I'll see then. I'm just curious if there's been more exploration than these stickers, or adding a tertiary pocket for your phone.

Phone pops out way too easily in the snap on cases. IMO. I got a dual layer hybrid for mine and am pretty happy with it.

Yeah, or they stop snapping altogether.

Actually, I got my phone and the case and am impressed by it. It snaps on with some click, it holds well, and it fits the nature of a bumper case quite well. My real complain stems from it not being an actual carbon fiber cover. It's just this gloss shell with a bunch of black squares gridlocked together to imitate carbon fiber in appearance and nothing more. It's actually more slippery than the naked phone. It protects it, I'll admit. The snaps over the edges actually protrude that little bit out from the screen, giving it the most subtle protection from surfaces.
Disappointingly, I ruined the screen protector in the process. I'll probably either buy a set or look up how to clean one and apply them properly.

Screen Protector
I picked up one of the hdx Zagg screen protectors over the holidays on sale and also got one from a family member as a Christmas present.
I will sell the extra at a cheaper price than what you normally could, if anyone's interested message me for info.
So not to post the same link again, it is located on the first page in one of my posts in this thread.
