i know theres tons of post but they all seem old whats the newest prl out there i just updated mine to 01120 but not sure whats new phone updated yesterday and lost my 3g roaming so i put that prl in after talking to sprint the tech said if i know how go for it there was nothing in his note about prl update stopping 3g its to fix stuff in 2.3 he said but didnt know prl can fix bugs ??? or am i missing something
bump !! anyone know
I would wish to know this to
My PRL was 01115 or something like that, I just now nand back to 2.2 stock rooted and updated PRL to 60679. Wow, that's a big jump. Is that because I'm still on the froyo stock and not gingerbread? Should I flash the rooted GB update and do it again? Or doesn't that matter? Lol

It doesn't matter that's something that doesn't change when you flash rom's or restore your nandroid's. What's interesting is that was our last prl before 01115 on the Hero.At least it was on mine.lol
Yeah, only question I have is since it goes of a sense rom and generally the servers would know what version of HTC software your using. Is it possible that if your still on 2.2 instead of the OTA update that they gave a depreciated PRL? idk, but I can see HTC doing that to force you to update. Because. I thought I saw somewhere that someone updated to 01120? Just curious. I'm still someone what new to all this. So I'm learning

I'm running 2.3.3 and yes there was a prl update.
60679
I've always had 60679 on my speedy (2-3 mos. ago) and not once has my prl shown 01120. Perhaps the official OTA came with 01120 and then upgraded (or downgraded) to 60679.

yeah i looked around and did a update my self to 01120 the new one made me lose 3g roaming
Can someone post the newest PRL. 01120 I think. I want to switch to that to try it out

Hello everyone,
Just as a warning: you will LOSE your S-OFF if you apply the upcoming Froyo OTA directly from T-Mobile and be UNABLE to S-OFF again. IEF (AlphaRev developer) has not been able to hack the new HBOOT 1.0 (for Legend and Espresso) which will be distributed with the new Froyo OTA for our device. If you apply the OTA via the T-Mobile firmware update tool or through a zip-file provided directly by T-Mobile you will be permanently stuck S-ON.
The ONLY safe way to keep your S-OFF is to use Froyo ROMs provided by developers in the Developers section.
Hope this saves some sanity for others, but unfortunately I'm stuck S-ON now.
Wor. This is big. Thanks for the heads-up. I almost just did it to "play around".

It's not out yet, so you couldn't have done it. CR's ROM is not fully-stock... it has been modified to add root and remove the HBOOT.
I was referring to the official T-Mobile OTA firmware which isn't even being pushed to phones yet, but it will be SOON.
Really? I still have S-ON ever since I gained root lol
I haven't done S-Off....

Come on nbetcher, you should have known better. Remember how OTA's bork your root access - it (to me) would be apparent that they would do the same for s-off. Is HBOOT a different version now though?
Their isn't a way to restore the old hboot? Wouldn't loading the stock 2.1 fix that?

Probably not since the stock 2.1 versions would be lower than 2.2

Any OTA update....
How do I exactly know that I'm getting an OTA update from Tmo? I noticed my sync icon in the notification bar has been showing since I booted my new slide.
Is that saying I'm getting one? will a box popup? what?
thanks for any information.

A notification about the update should appear.
The sync icon is normal, updates other stuff like news, t-mobile contacts, stocks, etc...

Thanks for the heads up! I thought about applying it when it released to have a bit of fun but since I'd lose S-OFF and have to re-root I'll just stick with CM7.

I have heard that the slide will not get the OTA update. It proly has something to do with this merger with AT&T. They are going to want everyone to buy new phones now and offer all of these crazy deals for everyone just to trap you.

I did the update, "playing around". Learned my lesson, I did the How to Re-Root method, of which I was on the same trail as a few others here, the guide filled in the missing pieces of the puzzle.
R.I.P. S-OFF
So, besides the kernel changes, ext4 and stock app removal, what are the differences between the released stock EC05 and Bonsai's EC05? Is Bonsai just a modded stock one or it is some EB13/EC05 hybrid?
for future reference, questions end in "?" and statements end in ".".
Once I get my PRL updated, I'm going back to Bonsai. I might take Sprint ID with me

I've read where people were successfully updating after flashing EC05. I thought it was ROM issue but I may end up trying it manually.

What GB rom are you talking about? The Gingerbread rom stated here is the offical or about to become offical gingerbread update for the G2. As for the call drops and battery drain(Rmk said that he had great battery life using the g2 gingerbread update as a base)... I never had call drops. I live in the san diego area where I get almost full bars and 4g so I havnt got a call drop yet.

i tested CM7 final and latest nightly, G-Lite, miui's and almost all roms availible on this forum with or without sense. I also changed radios to recommended, manually deleted batterystats and giving rom a 3 day trial... every time they failed. now i am on Virtuous and it works fine.
so is there a way to downgrade rom and root it or am i stuck until we get some devs working on it

Yeah the G-Lite one is good except for one nagging bug. The Power Control widget kept going blank on me. I got tired of it and I'm back on SuperCM7 1.9 for now.
Just got mine and no such luck
I received a warranty replacement last Saturday as my original G2's screen became unresponsive across the middle of the screen. I just checked and my replacement has the original 2.2 build.
Not sure if that helps the conversation, but know that unless yours was shipped in the last week, the 2.3.3 pre-loaded may just be an accident.
yeah it was yesterday when i got it and im not the only one

For us who already have the G2 the build will not be released until July.

just wondering if it is possible to use sprints IOTA update profile feature while running cyanogenmod nightly ROM?

No it is not. So if you're running CM7, have a nandroid of Supreme Sense.
I always wondered why, as if what is stopping it from being something implemented? seeing as how the aosp phones by sprint all don't have sense but all can update on profile and prl

No. It's Sprint's newest PRL update. The old one was 60683, the new one is 60685.
It's the same one I've been on for weeks now. It's one of sprints prl updates so I doubt it will work on verizon. But my 3G has been great.
I updated to 60685, and my 3G is definately better.

Yes, I started having really bad speeds around the time of the new update (I didn't update as I am on cm7) and I mean bad, like 1x all the time. I updated last night and it seems to have put it back to normal
Shifted from Outer Space
I'm not noticing any difference (as usual). Will run some tests today.
I did a few tests before and after with speedtest.net. My up/down speeds did increase on 3G / 4G. Not dramatically, but enough to be worth the update.

It probably depends on what area your in. If your in a major city that already has a good network you probably won't notice much.
