Hello everyone,
just wondering if it is possible to use sprints IOTA update profile feature while running cyanogenmod nightly ROM?
thanks
cheers,
disco
No it is not. So if you're running CM7, have a nandroid of Supreme Sense.
I always wondered why, as if what is stopping it from being something implemented? seeing as how the aosp phones by sprint all don't have sense but all can update on profile and prl
I wonder this as well.

I thought there was a way but it was risky and seemed like a lot of work

Seems like if that's the case, the goodies could be pulled from those roms and added to our flavor of cm7. I presume they have the ability to update prl's and all of the other ## stuff?

So, besides the kernel changes, ext4 and stock app removal, what are the differences between the released stock EC05 and Bonsai's EC05? Is Bonsai just a modded stock one or it is some EB13/EC05 hybrid?
for future reference, questions end in "?" and statements end in ".".
Once I get my PRL updated, I'm going back to Bonsai. I might take Sprint ID with me

I've read where people were successfully updating after flashing EC05. I thought it was ROM issue but I may end up trying it manually.

Well, ive been able to update, my prl on every rom no matter what,
ive been on d118,dk28 bonsai,eb13 bonsai
every modem and always was able to update my prl
ever since sunday when i got the new ec05 bonsai is when it stopped working, even it stopped working on bonsai eb13 on a different phone when it used to work,
so like is said pretty sure its a sprint deal and hopefully working soon when everyone start to get the ota...
I actually like Sprint ID. Works much better on the Epic than the Transform. There are also some new default Wallpapers.

So it seems... A half hour ago it told me there were no updates available, now it's giving me errors. I've had fun playing with the update, back to Bonsai I go!
Normally running Cyan stable and flash back to stock for PRL updates, but is there a faster rom for this or can I only get them if I use the Sprint release?
Trying to figure out if I need to flash the new Gingerbread rom or not.
the slimmest and with the GB update is the stock rooted that xHausX has in the Dev section.
That will give you the best of both worlds!
^What he said.
Can't they do prl flashable update zips now, even for cm7?

Never seen a "flashable update", I believe you can with CDMA workshop but its actually faster to just nandroid to Sense and then back to AOSP.

The dev supposedly working on it has some real life stuff going on, getting married I think. But yes, CM 7 will have that built in eventually.
How you ask?
When the Nexus S 4G came out, its entire code base went AOSP. So they have access to that code. Some merging here, custom menu code there, and voila!

Yeah, cannot wait. Truly AOSP will be king then.

Has anyone seen Evo might get ota 3.0 sense.

Its funny that we already have this .

I highly doubt it, the EVO dosent have the space to fit 3.0 and still have room for apps.
I don't care I have mikg v1.03 and it has enough 3.0 on it for me also I hear he is coming out with a new ROM with more 3.0 or something like that.

Same here. I am running MikG Rom and I have lock screen, weather, app tray, task bar all from 3.0. What more do u need. This will be great for non rooted users though.

I agree with out adding a partition to the sdcard there is very little space left
from my phone duh
I agree, I'm running MikG, it runs great and gave me great battery life...with stock kernel...
EVO 4g w/MikG 1.03
MikG
Also Running MikG with stock Kernal and the Sense 3.0 is pretty solid. Lock Screen slide to open apps would be nice, but otherwise its really complete and my favorite rom out there currently.

Uhh it does work, you don't slide the ring to the app, you slide the app to the ring.
+1 on MikG
It's nice

Kinda scary sending OTA with the internal space limitations, unless something has been figured out. Probably just wishful thinking for those who are not here...loving the MikG myself.

One thing you have to keep in mind, is that it's not sense 3.0 that was taking up all the space, but instead it was the 3d apks, such as the fusions which alone was taking up 49mb, yes granted be those apks play a big role in the new sense, but would the be required for our phone, probably not.

That fusion.apk affects the lock screen, the 3D clock widget, just to name a few so I would say its pretty important.

If you lose the weather animations you pick up 60mb. I would gladly do without them to have most of the rest of sense 3.0
The lock screen and widget would still function
full sense 3.0 i think is for updated hardware only

Highly unlikely.
I doubt it, you need at least sense 2.1 for those 3.0 elements to work. EVO is still on sense 1.0.
Lmao.
I love these forums man.
Everybody (for some silly reason) complains about how the newest OTA only has Sense 1.0 and how "disappointed" they are with the update.
Then we get information that MIGHT mean some kind of sense update and everyone just refers to an aftermarket ROM...
Silly.
i think there will be no more updates for the evo.

the update sucks in comparison to the current aosp 2.3.4 builds we already had.
i'm still puzzled as to why it was only sense 1.0 when the shift for a full 2.1 leak .
yea it's to get people to upgrade ... still lame
and i have to ROFLMAO at the "i think there will be no more updates for the evo"
i understand the e3D will released soon but i really don't thing sprint will abandon the evo it's still selling to well
i know theres tons of post but they all seem old whats the newest prl out there i just updated mine to 01120 but not sure whats new phone updated yesterday and lost my 3g roaming so i put that prl in after talking to sprint the tech said if i know how go for it there was nothing in his note about prl update stopping 3g its to fix stuff in 2.3 he said but didnt know prl can fix bugs ??? or am i missing something
bump !! anyone know
I would wish to know this to
My PRL was 01115 or something like that, I just now nand back to 2.2 stock rooted and updated PRL to 60679. Wow, that's a big jump. Is that because I'm still on the froyo stock and not gingerbread? Should I flash the rooted GB update and do it again? Or doesn't that matter? Lol

It doesn't matter that's something that doesn't change when you flash rom's or restore your nandroid's. What's interesting is that was our last prl before 01115 on the Hero.At least it was on mine.lol
Yeah, only question I have is since it goes of a sense rom and generally the servers would know what version of HTC software your using. Is it possible that if your still on 2.2 instead of the OTA update that they gave a depreciated PRL? idk, but I can see HTC doing that to force you to update. Because. I thought I saw somewhere that someone updated to 01120? Just curious. I'm still someone what new to all this. So I'm learning

I'm running 2.3.3 and yes there was a prl update.
60679
I've always had 60679 on my speedy (2-3 mos. ago) and not once has my prl shown 01120. Perhaps the official OTA came with 01120 and then upgraded (or downgraded) to 60679.

yeah i looked around and did a update my self to 01120 the new one made me lose 3g roaming

I am curious. I am looking to try a couple ROMS this weekend to attempt to address my ongoing bluetooth issues. I notice that other ROMs don't mention carrier IQ at all. Is this still ACS's secret sauce, or is it standard practice to remove that stuff now? Does it really even make that much difference?
Thanks

Not in all stock based roms. Some have it and some don't. Cm7 and miui definitely don't have it. Otherwise, it'll say in the op of a rom if it doesn't have it. If they don't say anything about it in the op, either ask or assume its there
