So I was wandering through the app Market and I ran across both Google Earth and Flash 10.3. Out of curiosity I clicked on them and found I could install them both. After installation, I could find them no more. And when I try to use them they force close. (Expected) Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Flash is incompatible with armv6 devices like the Aria. As for google earth idk.

Yea there was an update for google books as well but everytime I clicked on it all I got was "requested item could not be found". So I left it alone and when I came back to my phone later on and unlocked it, in the notification bar it said "successfully updated google books". I was like WTF! I've noticed the market acting up a bit last few days.

I knew flash was incompatible, but Google Earth needs a 1ghz processor and a HDPI screen. I was just wondering what would happen if I installed them.

Even if it doesn't run at its full potential, Google Earth definitely will run on phones with sub-1GHz processors (including the Motorola Droid which has a 550MHz processor). Also Google Earth's help page says it requires 320x480 minimum resolution, which is what the Aria has. So neither of those reasons are preventing you from running it on the Aria.
The actual reason it doesn't work is because Google Earth requires ARMv7, just like Flash.
I thought it was just me. The market has been completely out of sorts for me since yesterday.

mmmk makes sense as to why it requires arm7. as for market itself i just get the occasional "connection issue hit retry to continue" error. and I'd have to hit it twice but that's how its always been with my aria even when was stock.
I can get Google Earth to appear by searching for "honeycomb" and it's the 5th or so result. Just, FYI.

I did the same with Flash 10.3. It was worth the try even though I know it requires ARMv7.

I know that adobe said itself that it won't get..but is there any chance that we can get it any way? flash on the legend will be awesome!
I do not think so..
I hope someone makes a way to make it work though someday
Excuse me but flash 10.1 will work on legend with froyo 2.2. Am I wrong?

I believe that the legends processor isn't powerful enough to run flash 10.1 but it is still in beta and will most likely run eventually.
However, given a few weeks I'm sure the modding community can make it work if it isn't supported out the door.
I saw a published test recently and the legend will be faster than the snap dragon processors because the screen resolution is less and therefore doesn't have to work as hard. So I doubt that is the reason flash won't work
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
That might explain why my Legend seems to be faster than my colleague's Galaxy S.
Basically everywhere i see, everyone says that flash doesn't work..
I'm not saying it does work just the processor speed is not the cause

DUDE!!!!!
Like in other posts, you are very pessimistic. Chill out a bit and let the things come on their own.
Flash will definitely work.
With 2.2 froyo, the legends processor will be able to churn out rougly 8megaflops as per linpak testing.
This is higher than what a 1ghz snapdragon processor was doing in a nexus one in android 2.1 eclair.
Couple that with the lower resolution of the legend screen, the extra ram that will be freed up in 2.2, and flash will work peachy.
Adobe already announced that flash 10.1 requires a ARMv7 based cpu which we clearly don't have (legend: armv6).
The armv7 has an extended instruction set over the v6... they would have to make a whole new client for all the "older" cpu-s out there (without using the instructions that are not present in the v6, replacing them with slower ones), so we probably won't see any 10.1 from adobe.
Let's just hope that htc will make us something similar.

like i said earlier its the processor that is not capable so ram and speed tests don't matter. read below

I found the apk, now I gotta question, I try to install it and it says outta space, but I have like 98mb free...any idea? The apk is only like 25-29mb.

You need atleast 110 to 115 MB free internal storage to download. I downloaded and tried to play but it does not respond and force closes. I tried overclocking but I'm not quite sure how to.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Geez! About 120 mb to play? I have way too much stuff on my hero that I use to clear it out...
...has anyone with enough space been able to play it successfully on their hero?
I downloaded pocket legends apk from the official website.
Even though i cant play the game on my htc hero 2.1....
Installation was no problem, but when i run the game it gives me force close
--> i had around 250 mb on my sd cart left, and on my internal storage there is around 110 mb left
I use to play pocket legends on my hero back when I had 2.1. I then flashed froyo and just never installed it again.

Which ROM were you using? I tried with cSrOm-2.1.7, and it never force closed for me, but never did anything other than make a black screen either. I'm putting Darchdroid v2.8 on my hero and will be trying again. This game looks waaay too cool to pass up.

Actually, the update makes for a super loooong bootup, and Sense force closes non-stop. It's a pretty brick. I'm going to try Cyanogen and see if I can get that working.

It's failing. Same thing I've been getting on the other ROMs. I think Mr Newklearx3 lies. JK, but what did you use??

From what I know, N64oid isn't supposed to be running on the mytouch slide, atleast not at this time. Yes you can run PSX, but PSX is not an N64.
* A quite number of games run smoothly at a reasonable speed with sound. This requires you have a high-end device (Nexus-S, Nexus-One, Samsung Galaxy, etc).

That was taken directly from the description of the app on the market. Seeing as you are not allowed to see it from the market on your slide let alone download it from the market I wouldn't doubt it to not work.
It's like Flash 10.1, you can install it by finding the app somewhere but will it work? No.
N64oid runs excellent on my Nook, but will not work on my Slide no matter what I try.

I don't see why not. The slide has the same GPU found in the Nexus One, Evo, Incredible. Pretty much any 1st gen snapdragon phone. Just the cpu isn't as strong but when OC to 825 mhz+ it runs just as smooth.
I kno i hope it works out

Just to clarify here, this is what another guy found out in another thread....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11853894&postcount=12
so, even tho we have the same gpu as the nexus one is like a few posts back a guy said... just like flash 10.1 it requires and armv7 core wich we unfortunately dont have :/
hopefully future updates will be compatible with armv6
From what I know, the Shift is the Sprint Version of the HTC Merge(or the other way around). And, since there is no Merge forum I could find, I came here. Is it possible to oc the device to 1ghz? Or, is it like the G2, where 800mhz is enough? Also, does it happen to have 512 mb of ram and a ffc? If so, Im dumping my droid 2 for the merge(unlocked bootloader ftw!)
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA Premium App
you can overclock to 1.51 ghz with it rooted and it is very smooth and very fast i can say i had many applications in back ground and still managed to go on the web and it was very quick still and play games with no problem very smooth.
The shift can be oc to 1.8 my friend and the g2 can do 2.1
No ffc tho sorry
He's asking about the Merge, guys. It SHOULD be very similar to the Shift, but nobody knows for absolute certain until they can get their hands on it. For the record, the 800 Mhz processor did everything i asked of it and then some at stock speed, I only overclock it because I can

^ This is correct info. The shift is quite speedy without the overclocking. Most of us just do it because of battery life with the different kernels, and because our geek friends wil think it's cool.

Anyone got their hands on an HTC Merge yet? Mines definitely great at 800 MHz, and there is nothing i have come across where i felt more clock speed would've been better, and that too on stock rom. This includes some of the heaviest games graphics-wise available on the market. But since its still not officially out, Im still running it on stock as I have no idea how to root it and load custom recovery. As soon as we get custom recovery on this it is a given the performance will increase a lot with custom roms.
