Hi all, i have an acer iconia a500 16gb with a 32gb external sd card attached. i notice that with music files on the external sd card the goggle music app cannot read any files on the external sd card. the nemo app can read the files on the external sd card but cannot play files from the external sd card. I can however play music files from the external sd card if i launch the files from a file manager although the only options im given to play them is either vplayer or nemo. is this a bug in HC 3.0, the google music app, nemo, or just the way android 3.0 runs? is there any fix for this or is there a proper tablet music playing app that auto recognizes and plays files on the external sd card.
I don't know about stock but Power Amp works just fine with my SD card.
Installed power AMP and yep you can set it to see and play files from the external sd card. Problem is google music interface and even nemoplayer interface is better than power amp for a tablet. I guess you can't have the best of both worlds.

Since jp2 I cannot move anything to my external sd card, says write protection and no permission, anyone know why this is happening and how to change it, its only since I went to jp2.
cheers
Seems like it's not mounted but my video player can see the movies on the card
Funny...
This is really getting annoying. Any MP3/Vide files which I transfer through USB Mass Storage are not detected when it goes "Scanning for Media". It works through Kies and Webharing Wifi Transfer app...until I reboot the phone, then its detected in the music player anymore.
If I use the file browser or astro i can play it through them, but that's not really convenient is it.
Everything works fine if I transfer it through an external SD card. I only have a 2gb one though so it really doesn't cut it.

So i bought a Galaxy S III yesterday and put an 8GB micro sd in it!
I installed a game called "The amazing Spiderman" and couldnt play it because of the memory.I tried to move it on the external sd card but no luck!
It tells me "this device not have a real primary external storage or the primary storage is emulated" this.
How can i move apps in the external sd? So i can play this game and not have future problems.
Is it a new card? If it is, you will probably have to format it. Go to Settings>Storage>Format SD Card
I had same problem mine wouldn't find any cards plugged in to fix I took a picture restarted and took another picture and now it mounts my card, hopefully it helps.

Go to SystemSettings->Storage, patriondopulo. Check you free space, see if card needs formatting etc.
Hi. Recently bought grand 2. I have few sings in my external SD card. These sings are not detected by any of the music player's. I tried many players but none if them detect them. When I move these sings to internal storage then they get detected by all the music player's. Why is this?? How to solve it?
Edit: not only music none of the contents in the SD card are being detected, neither videos nor picture's. I an only able to move data of apps into sd card.

Looking for an SD card for my phone. XT1563, 6.0.1, 16gb
Really all I want to store on it is Spotify offline music and photos. This Article seems to recommend the Samsung cards over SanDisk, while this thread, seems to favour the SanDisk.
Also, with regards to formatting the card - it seems like internal is still pretty buggy. Given that I currently have ~8gb used including my photos and music, would I be better off with external storage?
