So i bought a Galaxy S III yesterday and put an 8GB micro sd in it!
I installed a game called "The amazing Spiderman" and couldnt play it because of the memory.I tried to move it on the external sd card but no luck!
It tells me "this device not have a real primary external storage or the primary storage is emulated" this.
How can i move apps in the external sd? So i can play this game and not have future problems.
Is it a new card? If it is, you will probably have to format it. Go to Settings>Storage>Format SD Card
I had same problem mine wouldn't find any cards plugged in to fix I took a picture restarted and took another picture and now it mounts my card, hopefully it helps.

Go to SystemSettings->Storage, patriondopulo. Check you free space, see if card needs formatting etc.

My 2gb micro sd card lets me store over a 1000 photos, but my 8gb is only letting me store 500.
When I check the available memory on the card it says 6.5 gb, any ideas on what may be causing the limited photo storage.
Have you formatted the card via the option on the HD2? Start>Tools>Format SD Card
You didn't get the card off ebay did you?
Had the same problem. Thought it was a bad card. Then thought it's the software limitation. Eventually did a soft reset and sorted it out. So no need to worry about it mate.
hi all got my dhd today and I've replaced the 8gb memory card with a 16gb one
I've formatted the card in the phone and then transferred videos music and pics to the phone via hard drive mode. I then change there phone back to charge so the card mounts all the content is missing it appears that it goes into lost
I've also tried transferring via a memory card reader and same happens
Please has anyone got any ideas what's happening ?

If I was in that situation I would format the sd card in windows as fat32 and give itanother try.

Try to format on your windows PC. If that doesn't work, the card is a cheap chinese copy and no 16GB-version...
I did the same replacement and it worked fine.
I formated new card in PC as FAT32 (like original card). Then I copied all content from old 8GB card through USB disk option on my phone directly to new 16GB card pluged into my laptop. After copying was finished, I replaced cards and all was working fine.
I did this:
Shutdown phone.
Eject 8GB card from phone and plug into PC.
Copy contents to temp folder on disk.
Plug 16GB card into PC.
Format FAT32.
Copy contents from temp folder to root of 16GB card.
Eject 16GB card from PC and plug into phone.
Switch on.
I had the same problem.
I bought my sandisk 16gb sdcard from ebay, at the beggining worked fine but after a few months started to act weird. I copied media files and the one moment was there but when i unplugged the usb cable it's gone, other times it kept some files.
I tried to format the sdcard, use big block size, i even used SDFormater which is for sdcards specific format but nothing happens.
I thought it might be the usb cable but after i used back the 8gb samsung sdcard works like a charm.
As for the sandisk i would like to contact the company to see their opinion.
Try with a different card, and see what happens.

Check if the price you bought the card is at least close to the real price of the card. Many ebay cards are fake. The fact that it says "Sandisk" on the card doesn't make it genuine. From my experience Sandisk are the safest and one of the most expensive card on the market. I use their Extreme series for my cameras and never had a single problem with them.
Probably it's fake. I bought it the half price of what it costs in my country.
I'm just trying to get a feel for how Samsung treats storage on their devices.
Do they consider the internal storage as both internal and SD Card storage on the device? So that \sdcard\ points to internal storage? Which would treat any inserted MicroSD like secondary storage that some programs might not use?
Or do they consider internal storage as only internal and \sdcard\ would only point to an inserted MicroSD?

They have internal SD (built in storage) and external SD.
External SD is not touched unless you indicate for it to be used specifically.
I like that Samsung continues to offer devices with a removable battery and MicroSD. This is a major factor for me.
I just wish the MicroSD could somehow be integrated with their internal storage. Since many apps may not be able to see the MicroSD. The apps would consider the internal storage to be SD space.

I'm using Data2SD with my Asus Transformer Infinity right now to have a 64GB data space (via SD card) and the internal 32GB as extra storage. I have not had to remove the card yet . And really even Data2Sd won't let me use the internal space on the device installing programs, just extra storage. But still its a good step.
Removing the card is not a concern, since I basically don't. If the card goes bad, rebuild things with a new card.
It would be great if the SGS4 gets a MOD like Data2SD. Then anyone who buys a 16GB version could get a 64GB MicroSD and turn it into a 64GB SGS4 . Same way we've turned our 32GB Asus Infinities into 64GB models, and our storage is even faster than the stock Asus internal storage  .
Oh, it's a good idea, it's soooo good .
I have a couple questions too if someone can please help:
1) What happens when you mount the device via USB. Can you mount either storage (internal or external sd)?
2) Can you easily place game files like GTA Vice City, music files, or Titanium/nandroid backups on the external?
Thanks!

1) they show up as separate drives
2) yes to. Everything except game files as the game would think you don't have the files and try to redownload them

Did you try format it using your PC?
Edit:after you format using pc then you try to format it again using same method as you did with your phone. Hopefully its not a faulty sdcard

Flash it from recovery. It s better than windows.
Had an issue with a similar Sandisk card recently in my girlfriends phone. It seemed as if it went into some sort of read-only mode. Could not format it, could not write to it, either from phone or pc. I could backup the data though. Turned out to be a faulty card. Sandisk has a 5 year warranty on these cards though, so it was nicely replaced with a new one without any hassle.

Had similar issue before. The card cannot be written or formated any more . Stuck in read only. The only way is to send it in for warranty claim and get a new one. And if you do that remember to destroy the old card if you have sensitive information on it.
You can't destroy the card as you need to return it. If you destroy the card before sending it back, it is user caused damage and it will not be replaced..

Hi. Recently bought grand 2. I have few sings in my external SD card. These sings are not detected by any of the music player's. I tried many players but none if them detect them. When I move these sings to internal storage then they get detected by all the music player's. Why is this?? How to solve it?
Edit: not only music none of the contents in the SD card are being detected, neither videos nor picture's. I an only able to move data of apps into sd card.
