[Q] Stock Desire Z rom? - G2 and Desire Z General

I tried to unroot my desire z today but it seems that I've installed a G2 rom instead of a Desire Z rom.
What can I do now? I don't want a G2 rom with T-mobile branding Where can I get a proper stock Desire Z rom?
edit: I managed to get Cyanogenmod back, so this thread can be closed

The phone doesn't do anything anymore. Guess I bricked it now. Help please
edit: it suddenly came back to life a minute ago. This is exactly why I want to go back to stock rom, I should really stop tinkering with stuff before I give myself a heart attack or something

T-Mobile G2 Root or ROM?

Hello, I just received a T-Mobile G2. It looks like T-Mobile removed the wireless tether also. I'd like to find a stock ROM without any of the extra T-Mobile applications installed. I'm surprised there are not any ROM's or Root's for this already because this is really a nice phone. If I'm posting in the wrong forum let me know.
Thanks
Well, you're in the Desire Z forum, so you probably want to head over to the G2 forum if you have a G2. But it's early days so you'll have to be patient for root/ROMs.
stevie, the tmobile usa G2 is the same phone as the desire z except it runs vanilla froyo and not sense ui
so to the OP. yes wrong section it isn't developled but right section for the phone type.
it is early days for the phone. partial root has been obtained. full root and a custom recovery image are on their way probably. once a custom recovery image can be installed, or even fastboot or adb commands to get it to flash a rom, you will see plenty of custom roms

Sorry about that, I was wondering why the Dezire threads were not that active.
nvm i realized this must have been moved lolz
We're still trying to obtain root on the device. The phones been out for almost 9 days now. Give it another week. And then we have all the goodies root brings.

I think it is funny how in the T-mobile book they give you with apps and what not. In the top 10 is ROM Manager which specifically says for ROOT users.
How can they advertise something that if you use will void your warranty?

Something gone horribly wrong.

I recently bought a HTC Desire Z off eBay, when I received the phone it was on stock T-Mobile 2.3.3 firmware. Unfortunately this isn't rooted but it does have S-Off. Does anyone know how to get back to Sense or am I stuck until a downgrade/rooting method is released? :/
Oh I fixed it and got back to stock unrooted. But for some reason my phone has decided to completely die on me :/ oh well.
Just out of interest - are you saying you managed to get HTC stock (with Sense) back on the phone after having the T-Mobile GB ROM on there? If so, how did you do it?
I'm thinking of trying out the T-Mobile ROM but don't want to root and wandered if I could go back to sense if I don't like it.
Cheers.
My phone was s-off so I just flashed through boot loader a root able 2.2 g2 build and went and rooted from there. I then changed the hboot back to the original desire z one and flashed sense 2.2 through the boot loader.
I'd recommend using this if you want Sense and want to keep all the rooted perks.
Vision Sense 1.82.405.1 Untouched: Rooted/Deodexed
Had to send it to htc as it bricked itself somehow :/ all that would work was vol + and power.

(Q) root from 2.3 possible?

So i just got notice that the 2.3 update is finally ready for download for my phone. I am currently on 1.8. I believe..
I read somewhere that there is no hope of rooting so far if you update to 2.3..
Is that true?

You could always install RMK's or Hawst's leak. They're pre-rooted already.
I have Hawst's flashable leak and its brilliant!
I could..
So thats a no to getting the upgrade then i guess..
I would like to try out MIUI, but thats not happening if i upgrade right?
Atleast not yet

HTC Desire HD Restore Stock

Hey
I followed this method here to root, install cwm and then install custom rom. I have decided that I want to return my phone back to stock settings, how will I do this?
So far I have tried many methods online but to no avail. Each time something is wrong. Such as I cant update ota or the proximity sensor doesnt work on different roms etc but does on some.
I assume I need to turn s-on and radio-on, restore the cid to stock, restore the rom to stock, update to most recent (same as before I followed this procedure) replace the recovery image.
Is this true or am I making a mistake or misunderstanding something.
Please help
The phone is Orange Desire Hd which was previously at 2.3.3 please give me links to stock roms or procedures i need to follow
Cheers.
Tim
ps sorry if this is in wrong place
I also need to do this to return my phone as a fault has occurred with my mic. I have two orange ruu's one later than the other.
I have tried putting back to stock in the past and succeeded but wouldn't update OTA. so I'm wondering what i could have done wrong

Normally what I do is just flash the stock RUU and its done. Just download it from the HTC website and run it on your com with your phone plugged in. Did this twice. Of course if you want, you can s-off your device first as going back to stock would not s-on your device.
Refer to this thread to reverse your DHD back to stock rom unrooted.

Restore to Orginal SE Rom

Hi All,
Wondering if someone can help me. My wife has an xperia Arc and I recently unlocked the bootloader and rooted it. I then proceeded to install the Blend_MIUI rom. It all went sucessfully and she now has a xperia arc running miui. however, she now wants the old rom back. She misses the camera functions of the original rom, and just doesnt like the iphone feel of the rom. My problem is that I totally forgot to make a backup of the orignal rom before flashing. Can someone please help me to download the original SE rom and point me to how I can install it back on the phone?
Thanks for the the help in advanced.
Read one of the threads started in the last day or so asking the same thing.
