I fail to see where your benchmarks are.
Cheers!
Minimods nowadays...

quadrant gives me around 2200. linpack multi-thread gives 50-56 MFLOPS, single thread ~34.
did anyone else notice the icons in the notification bar (to the right) and the default icons for the new motoblur skin (at the bottom of the homescreen) are low res?
also the livewallpapers issue doesn't seem to be fixed.
i could care less in a beta build, I'm just happy to see that 'unlocked' show up when i boot.

he's right, this thread shouldve been put in q&a

Yeah I couldn't care less either. Thanks for the info. I wonder if well be seeing improved quad scores over froyo in the final build?

benchmarks aren't that great a predictor of real world performance. there was a story last week about someone making a modified CM7 build that unrealistically destroyed benchmarks on the Nexus S

looking forward to the dev work on this thread!

Well, actually you failed to post on the right thread. Jesus this is a development thread.

though this is the wrong section, i was consistently getting 2700's and i maxed around 2850 in quadrant. i have the screenshots if proof is necessary. i also got high 70's in linpack multi-thread.

mods will move this thread when they see it...but who cares about quadrant its not a very accurate gauge of performance. i can tell you that 2.3.4 is definitely faster than 2.2.2 in every way

Linpack multi-thread- high 70s also.

off topic

Xda is looking for mods these days..
And we need one, to keep our forum clean, and everything in correct order..
With tags in the topics.. Eg [ROM] [MOD].. Editing topics ..
Etc in a 100 pages thread, if there is solution put a [SOLVED] tag in title or something, move solution to 1st topic,
And possible problems with solutions, that may a user come up..
Deleting off topic stuff, like what I m posting right now..
Or some "OMG! SOS! HELP" threads, that the solution was already answered.. (I ve created some of those )
Anyway.. It needs spending some time daily on the forum.. But we need our atrix mod..

I'm gettting like 3000 in quadrant and 80-85 on multicore linpack

If you guys believe the moderators are complacent then please bring your concerns to them. You don't need to run around in threads making smug comments when something is out of line - this is what the moderators are for.
Rather than running around and playing internet police, please use the Report To Moderator function. This will alert mods silently and without fanning any flames.
P.S. No one point out the irony in playing Mr. Internet Policeman myself! Damn you if you do! Just tired of the whining!!

only problem is that the 'report post' option has gotten more complicated, and you have to PM a specific mod in order to get anything done....

i WAS getting this on the 1.8.3 froyo build. are you still getting it on the unlocked hktw?

i ran it a few more times and got a 2500 score

To show benchmarks you have to have a "benchmark" to compare to. Just throwing around Quadrant and whatever scores doesn't show or help anything. What is needed are before and after. You take a "benchmark" snapshot before, then do the same test after and compare results. Benchmarks in any industry/technology are the initial test data results. Anything you compare this to afterwards is not technically a benchmark until you determine it is better, and thus need to test the new "benchmark" against the next improvement to substantiate your results.

overclocked g2 temps?

I'm currently overclocked at 1.3ghz, and wondering what temps would be considered safe? Any help would be appreciated.
Wrong section, but your phone shouldn't go over 100 degrees Fahrenheit too often. It should stay between 80 degrees - 98 degrees.
Why didn't you just post in overclock thread?

My bad fellas. I wanted a quick response and that thread moves way too fast. I was converned last night because while browsing websites for less than ten minutes while charging, my temps got up to 102 while clocked at 1.3ghz and 1ghz. I read that the droid x guys who are overclocked said temps up to 120 is safe.
Is setcpu's widget temps reading batt temp or cpu temps?
Mods, feel free to delete, move, or whatever is necessary.

Thanks for the info. On setcpu I've been running performance mode. Took your advice and switched to on demand to access sampling rate. Default was set at 50,000. Switched to 2500 but not really seeing a difference. how does this play a factor in regards to sampling rate?

No worries man; I know peoples just want to have fun in here and sometimes its difficult to see sarcasm haha.
Back on topic. The general consensus says the safe zone is about 97 degrees when overclocked. When charging, the phone gets hot fairly fast. I like to run games when plugged in and want to utilize the increased speeds while playing games and so forth. However my temps get up to 103 before I drop down from 1.3 to 1ghz. Should I be worried staying in these temps, or should I say 120 degrees would be more questionable?

i have just requested this
Watching the youtube video and without any explanation from devs yet, makes me really confused.
First we see a X10 running SE 2.1, then he reboot the client, then its custom 2.2 ROM, then reboot again.. press button while booting, so it goes to recovery/safe mode? then it comeback to SE 2.1.
Anyway, its great progress from devs
Now i wonder, as far as i know this custom rom is achieved without unlocking the bootloader, right; or i'm wrong that the bootloader is uncloked.
Well anyway, want really bothering me is that if we unlock the bootloader, do we get "open padlock" icon like Nexus One? I really cannot stand that icon, lol. been trying to find a way to remove that from my dad's Nexus One.
we will not release an incomplete work

I don't get all this thread closing thing that has been going on here... did they at least have an explanation as to why the thread has been closed?
I am sure that I am not at position to discuss this but some of these closings are really unnecessary but Mods know what is in the best interest of this community.
To clarify the reason for closing the thread temporarily, please see the last post in it.
It will be opened again at the request of the OP, as soon as he wants it. I am in contact with him by PM anyway, and the moment he is ready to release, it will be opened up for him.

RATE your fave ROM and KERNEL (updated 12/29)GB!

As my website changed a little I thought it appropriate to make a new post for letting people know that I put up a place for everyone to vote on their favorite or least favorite roms and kernels. My other thread just draws attention to people interested in kernels, and I want to see a lot more votes come in. It really interests me to see current trends like this. Like myn warm! Its got the lead by a large margin. I want to see ratings by the hundreds of users if possible just to satisfy my curiosity.
Well have fun with it guys.

Site updated a little today (12/29), i added cm7 and baked snack (per request), and also the new virus rom for voting. None of their respective pages have been filled out. But I really want to see some votes on the gingerbread builds. I want to know which one people are using as that will probably be the one with the least amount of bugs.

What are you some kinda angry nerd? You tend to get better explanations about PHONE questions on a PHONE message board. How each effects a PHONE vs Linux....
Take a step back and stop being an angry phone nerd.
To cut it short,
BFS is generally faster, but has its hickups when multitasking.
CFS can be a little lower in quad scores (which mean nothing in my opinion) but do better on multitasking.
I prefer CFS, its smoother to me.. Try em both, it depends on what you prefer and what your phone can handle

Actually I disagree. A well researched article will give you or anyone else much more info than 10 people expressing what their opinion is on the topic.

Check out the last post of the mentioned thread ...
M sure this will end in the same way!
It should become a rule on XDA that developers are not allowed to use a benchmark to show how great their firmware is because benchmarks really do mean nothing. I remember using a ROM ages ago that got a massive score in Quadrant, and now I can't even beat the most basic phone in the list on Quadrant. Is my phone slower now than it was then? No. It's faster now.
Developers should provide a video of the firmware working, not a picture of a benchmark: that's what I reckon should be a rule.
