Disable Decline - Desire HD General

I have an desire HD and thie freaking anwer and decline is a huge problem because everytime i pick the cel from my pocket it get decline a call what can i do to deable the decline bootom please help thanks and an other this i was looking into upgrade my phone with custum roms but i can not find witch firmware i have how do i find that out please let me know thanks

Your software version is under phone info, software-information, build number.
You need version 2.36 or less, or you can not root your phone (yet).

Just a side note.
When making questions make it as easy to solve and READ as possible.
There is no punctuation at all, you put it all in one sentence. Very hard to read.
This might also be a reason why you didnt have more answers.
Just come back edit your message and put some .,:;'" in there and a couple of RETURN's wouldnt be bad either.
Thanks you and goodluck with your problem.

thank you KaseDesire for the info i have 2.37 so i have to wait then

It might be not the answer what u are looking for, but put the phone in your pocket with the battery cover facing your leg. No more declined calls. Horizontal slide answer/decline would be much better. A leather case does the trick as well.

Can HTC block a phone?

Hi all, i had a bad start to the new year...some teenager snatched & ran away with my Touch Dual this morning (dawn,it was dark).
Anyway, my Telco can only deactivate the SIM card. I called HTC to check if thr was a way to BLOCK the phone in anyway...but their office is closed as its new years day.
Any1 has any ideas wat i might be able to do? I dnt think i'll see it again but its really disappointing. some luck huh?
p.s. I intend to get another touch dual the soonest i can afford it..

What do you expect from them to block? I think you want something that's not possible. However, I know that in Holland, the police somtimes sends a sms-bomb to the IMEI number of a stolen phone. I don't know where you're from. but maybe the police in your country can do that to. It seems very anoying to me to receive lot ant lots of sms messages about using a stolen phone
i thought it was up to your network to get the imei barred? if your network wont help i doubt if HTC will do much.
Go to Police with your IMEI!
the IMEI is also on the box the device came with
i was under the impression you can break a phone if you have its imei
I'm sorry...

I can't believe the nerve of that little jerk. Your bad experience just gave me an idea. I once put an app on my Magician that when a different Sim card was inserted into my phone, it would send me a text/email with the telephone number of that Sim. I never had to use it so I can't say for sure that it actually worked. I guess I should've tested it. But anyway, my point is; I'm going to find that app and post it for all.
Can't wait until you get your Dual back.

yep, i came across that software before too..now i wish i had tried that. (well, another lesson in life!)..my only saving grace is i have everything i need backed up. with the IMEI number, which i already gave the police, the only way the thief will be caught if he tries to sell to a 2nd hand mobile phone shop.
by the way, im in Singapore, one of the lowest crime rates in the world. but hey, still, low crime doesnt mean no crime.
oh my, i miss my phone so much...haha..now i can just laugh about it. i just checked the retail price of the dual here...it will cost me about USD 700. sigh...
luckycris0,
if u find that app, pls post it here...thanks..
after this lesson, i will use that, if not for anything....just for karma.

Hope that helps.
Here's an app that's similar to what I was talking about in my post earlier. The trial version is available from handango.com and it's about 25usd to purchase. Give this a try. I'm certainly going to on both my Nike and Polaris. I'm still going to try and locate the app so you all don't have to pay for it but since that time, I've changed laptops countless times, but I always save everything to disc so we'll see.
thks
thks guys...i will definitel try these apps...once bitten twice shy!
ystrday, i jus bought myself another TOUCH DUAL!...got it at a better offer..had 2 sign a new 2year contract for another telco line...& gave the line to a loved one to use...
Uhm.
I read a few years back that your operator can block the whole phone, not just the SIM card. Never needed to use it, I have no idea if it really works.
Bad luck!
Anyway, thx guys for the app! can really be handy!
will one of these appz survive after a flash or hard reset? guess not So, they are pretty useless in front of phone guardian for symbian in example

Hi,
what you need is a device managent system which can do all these things for you.
take a look to amagu_sycn security i am using this tools since arround 4 month its works perfect.

magicall

ok so i ''bought'' magicall from some ''non-torrent'' website and it appears i have version 2.x(the only working cr4ck that i found haha)
so anyway i have this problem, i have some girls that i chat with (wont go into detail) and my girlfriend hates it when i talk to other girls so i want to block text(sms) messages from some of them but i have tried to do this but it just would not work...I will put some screenshots here to show what I did in the setup and hope you guys can tell me why it is not working =O
so to summarize what I want :
1.I want to block SMS/TEXT messages
2.they have to be deleted and not show up(i don't care if i cant read them)
3.it has to happen SILENTLY(or as much as possible)
4.it has to happen everyday all day long until i turn it off(I don't get the last part of the program where you can enter a time from till ...do i type 0.01 till 23.59?)
if any1 could help id love you to death(no homo)

So why don´t You get Yourself an Iphone Crap4 and get Your hacked sw there ? It´s one thing that You pay 400 bucks for a phone (nobody forced You though with a gun to Your head) it´s sumthin completely different to install cracked sw. The Dev-People have to live on it and invest much time in dev. So You better shut up an f*** off.

Please help...bricked or not???

Sorry for my english but it's not my first language, even not second, so apologies.
So my problem... i don't like to post and don't post so much but i'm here every day. I have some devices and i love flashing and trying every new rom. I'm not a noob and nor dev. Just a simple user who's second life everyday is xda.
I just want to know if my HD2 is bricked or not. So the phone do not boot up, screen do not turn on, button backlight, or charging led. Nothing. It was installed with magldr. First i was thinking that battery was dead and with magldr do not charge and that's why do not boot. But no... today i have bought from somebody a docking charger with spare battery charger and 2 batteries. No luck. I have disassembled my leo and took a look in it. If i try to turn on i see that the vibration motor turns on for a half of second and than nothing happens.
I'ts not so very big problem if it is bricked (while i have a DHD, an SE xperia neoV, an asus tf101g, and next week i will buy a galaxy nexus too) but i don't want to take it in box if it can be bringed back to life. I just want to know what can cause this , if somebody knows what can i try feel free to answer.
P.S. no do not boots in bootloader also. Last time was installed with android via magldr, no OC, and all happend when i was driving my car using navigation on it. Simply turned off. It seem like the bootloader was deleted or don't know. Also battery pins checked. It can be defective mainboard or what???
Thanx in advance.

Yeah i agree with you but then why is vibration motor moving? Also i know that it doesn't matter but i have the original car charger from htc, and the phone was not plugged in, battery was at starting the navigation app at about 80% and after 10 minutes was the phone dead.

a few times on both by hd2's, I've come across a situation where some app/process hangs, the phone freezes or becomes really sluggish, and the phone starts to get hot at the bottom on the back. I always pull teh battery smartish, but perhaps yours did the same, and it burned itself out. Its well known that the hd2 suffers from heat.
Perhaps give the freezer trick a go, see what happens.

I think thats just some kind of myth. I bet I have flashed my HD2 OVER 150 times, a lot of experimenting of windows mobile, and later went on to Android. I did have a problem with a HD2 to vibrate 5/7 times and then freeze, in any way. Even when I flashed. I had trouble booting it too, but removing the battery for 30 minutes worked.
Thanks for your answer. I will contact him maybe he can help me.
I think too that the flashing limit is just a myth. I was flashing roms more than 300times and with no issues. My Leo was a survivor two times made bath and even after was fully functioning. Last months i was using just for gps and playing with roms.
If i can't fix it i want to give it for somebody from hd2 forums. If you are near Gütersloh in germany and you were contributing with something for Hd2 community feel free contact me and i will give you for free. No shipment because i can't send it, but if you are from other country and you have somebody that can send it to you tell him to come here contact me and we will see what we can do. There is the phone, 3batteries, docking station with one extra place for battery charge, original and silicon case.
I WANT TO WAIT ONE WEEK FROM NOW IF I CAN'T FIX IT I WILL TELL YOU AND EVERYBODY CAN CONTACT ME. REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE A DEV OR THEMER BECAUSE I WON'T GIVE IT FOR EVERYDAY USER WHO DID NOTHING FOR THE COMMUNITY. I CAN'T DONATE, LET THIS BE MY DONATION.
THANKS

Mate, i am from Hannover, which is not too far off your location. I might be able to help you with some advice. I am under pressure at work at the moment and cant reply in detail now but hang in there i will get back to you asap. Sorry cannot help right now.
There is two possible causes i can think of.
and btw: the flashing counter is not a myth. the Chip counts the number of flashes. But i don't think it has a kill switch. That is bull****. It's just for HTC to tell how often it was flashed and judge what users did to it.

Source? Never heard of this before. (Also, surely only ruu based flashes would register, the firmware wouldn't see android flashes, so it would be a hugely incorrect figure)

Hi Samsamuel,
good question. It is something i came across recently when my device got killed and i bought a new one with a brick. I did a lot of research (tried to find a way to get rid of the brick myself) but since the mentioning of the counter was something of little interest to me at the time i didn't take note of where i read it. It might be only HearSay and not be a proven fact, additionally, i was thinking the same about the RUU flashes and the android flashes. Most likely only the RUU flashes are counted. Maybe the part of the chip that holds the clocks for call time counting also holds a flash counter? Something i find a reasonable assumption. Further, i read about it in the environment of the whole jtag-programming world where i think i came across a page stating that their programming box resets the flash counters. i can't remember if that was the RIFF box or some other lesser known box. The RIFF box at last does not seem to feature it if i look it up now.
So, long story short, it might also just be a marketing gag for those believing in the Myth of a killswitch. As i said, i don't believe that but think flash counters aren't that far off reality and to answer your question: i cannot prove it. I just read it somewhere.

Ok here is a random search results collection of threads with similar issues related to overheating and broken solder Points on the CPU. You can read through them to get an idea of whats coming up to you.
Number 1
Number 2
Number 3 - by far the best one on overheating and breaking/fixing the CPU solder points!
And here the Help i can offer you for the scenario where your HD2 is "just" a brick - which is way more easy to fix! This is the Guy who successfully unbricked my HD2:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/HTC-Bootload...TAG-/320848960362?pt=PDAs&hash=item4ab4169b6a
BIG RED HINT: This guy has just bought himself an Infrared soldering station which could be used to re-solder the BGA connections for the CPU if them are broken! Read more about it on Link 3 up above. That dude is MASSIVE! Respect for his work is the word of the day! If you ask that guy with the soldering station he might be interested in doing a try on your device. He's learning, you are gaining if he succeeds. If he doesn't he still learned something and you helped the community by making him smarter
And there is another one in Austria who knows more about the Device and the possibilities and he was the first one ever to mention a HTC WhiteCard (for real, i searched the net and didn't find that term anywhere), i have never heard of that before but it seems to be a universal sim card that can set any HTC device S-OFF and according to that dude it costs a sum with 5 digits and he got one. It does exactly the same as the XTC Clip. amazing story anyhow , he is called Harald Kubovy and can be contacted here: Entsperren.net
Why did i not choose him? Further away, longer wait, 5 euros more. But he seemed to know A LOT.
And one last note: i don't think it is necessary for you to come over to my place as i cannot directly help you. I am not the kinda guy who fixes hardware. I fiddle around with software a lot and i am VERY tempted to buy a RIFF Box but then again i wouldn't really know how to work it and it costs quite a sum and then it sits here and i cannot use it effectively to get my money back out of it so i'd rather not toy around with it. BUT i can let you have all my research knowledge from my own desaster last week. Read above.
Cheers mate and good luck for your Quest for salvation. PLease feel free to contact me if there are any more questions.
Good night.
I have exactly the same problem as you, I turned off my phone and since then It just wont turn back on no charging light nothing except a small vibrate for half a second when I remove the battery and reinsert it.
Have you found any solution at all?
Hello maximillion,
Read my post above yours. If you happen to be in Germany contact the Ebay guy I linked to. He's good and your phone probably is just bricked. Happens sometimes.
If you are not in Germany I recommend searching your local Ebay for someone who does JTAG repairs. Or check for the search term "riff box" and "jtag".

Warning When Buying a Phone from a Little Chinese Company

Here's what I get buying a phone from a little Chinese company:
Gmail did not work when I first got the phone.
Oppo released a firmware update yesterday, which fixed the Gmail issue.
However, the firmware introduced a new issue: SMS now does not work
Next update will probably break the phone dialer.
I suppose Oppo doesn't think the fundamental essence (phone/sms/email) of a phone is all that important.

for a company that's as highly regarded for their top end AV equipment.... they'll get it right!
It kind of sounds like you weren't ready for this device anyway, it has been stated OVER AND OVER that the software is still in development and that it isn't perfect yet. However I'm fairly certain that I know what your problem is.
You might have put in the wrong area codes for your contacts, for instance in The Netherlands the number most people would use would be: 06xxxxxxxx instead the Find 5 requires it to be formatted like this: +316xxxxxxxx . It's a hassle but by syncing all of your contacts into google.com/contacts you can edit them within 10 minutes and never have any trouble with it again.
Another thing, try posting these kinds of issues on the OPPO Forums.. They are highly populated and they will help you find a solution for the stock firmware much faster than most of us on XDA could...
Please give your Find 5 to someone who will appreciate it more..
Thank you.
I have over 500 contacts, and most with multiple contact numbers.
I'll see if I can find the time to edit them all to the number format you suggested.
Strange, it was working okay, until the latest firmware update.

I don't know why the phone has a problem discerning which country it should dial I just know it's having some trouble with it.
Might be as easy as writing a base code to change the 0 into the country code the user is currently in.
For international calls you will always have to use the +1/+31 notation.
Works fine here in US, They will get it fixed looked what all they fixed with update number+1.
I probably got my Find 5 well before just about anyone on this forum (devs and beta testers excluded) and since day 1 it's been the best phone I've ever owned/used. Obviously there were problems with the Chinese firmware, but those were quickly resolved. Oppo brings out an update just about every week for this phone. It's fast, slim, beautiful and powerful. And Oppo is a major manufacturer of electronics even in America, albeit for media electronics like bluray players etc. You obviously aren't using Google enough to resolve your problems, and your problems all sound like software related bugs, which can be easily resolved by updating to any official update of the international ROM. Oppo is not to blame.

GPS Not Locking - Tech support just updated the software, still not working

Hello,
I got an LG Spirit sometime ago and apart from the first few days I've had it the GPS hasn't been able to lock to any satellites.
I took the phone to the tech support centre and described the problem. A couple of days later they returned the equipment and on the repair sheet it said they only did a software update and that the GPS was working perfectly.
Now my phone has a "V10s-268-03" version which prompts an error everytime I boot it saying that I shouldn't even have that version, that the software version isn't available for regular users.
Which would be fine but apart from that now everytime I do a factory reset on the phone it automatically installs maybe 30 bloatware apps through Software Update and the GPS is still as faulty as ever.
What should I do now? Take it back to the support centre, try to install another stock rom?
Is there an LG built-in test tool that I can use to troubleshoot the GPS problem? I remember my old LG P500 had one.
Thanks!
Back to the place of purchase / service center and demand a new device, in writing - since the purchased one has serious hardware issues. Don't know about the consumer protection laws where you're from... but that usually works.
EDIT: Or reflash a rootable firmware with the LG Flash Tool.
I had to return my device to service center twice before they really fixed GPS.
It's not a software related problem (tried factory resets, firmware updates, apps ..), so keep on complaining until they fix it!
Now I get many satellites within seconds, signal doesn't get lost, it even works inside my house.
The problem lies in GPS antenna contacts. They are weak on certain manufactured series of phones. To fix it, you have to remove the GPS antenna and bend the legs of the contacts to make a proper connection. But that's best left to service center, since the phones are still under warranty.
Glad you got it sorted.

Can you make theard or video fixing antenna??
How? By opening my fully functional phone just to show you how to fix something that is not broken ( on my phone )?
Check out a disassembly video on Youtube, grab a screwdriver and a plastic guitar pick and go to town
On a more serious note... If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it. And you don't seem to know what you're doing. No offense. It's a vibe, you know. Same one as when you see a garbage can. You know it's going to smell if you jam your nose into it. Same thing here. Just trying to save you from yourself.

I already did that because I add thermal paste,I don't know where anntenas are
That paste thing is the most laughs I got from this forum in a long time. If you added the paste, you would KNOW where the antenna is.
But, really, man... There are some legs you need not pull.
And my last question, for ****s and giggles... where are the pics or a video of your little project? I have to see that.

Sorry

So, any chance we'll see that thermal paste masterpiece of yours, or shall you leave us hanging?

Maybe when I get some time.
So, that means never I doubt you're so busy that you don't have a half an hour in your day to quickly open the phone up, snap a couple of photos and upload them.
Excuse me for not believing, but hey... this is the internet. Everyone has a right to form an opinion, call someone out, ask for proof and whatnot.
So, I'm waiting. Thank you and have a nice day.
