So, when i first got this eee pad i installed all the apps that looked shiny to me, and after a few days it locked up and i had to reset it.
The day after, i only installed 3.1 approved programs and it ran for another 2 days and locked up again.
So, the 3rd time i decided not to install a single program, not even setup my email account on it, and it ran for another 2 days and crashed again.
This has now happened on superstock 2 more times. And i've had it.
It either freezes or shuts of, and when i try to start it it hangs on the asus bootup screen.
One weird thing ive found on mine is that i cant shut it completly off.. When i hold in the powerbutton for (10-12sec) it just restarts after 8 secs.
Any1 else RMA'ed their product for this behaviour?

My phone has been working fine for a few months now, after several flashes (cant pick a ROM ) anyway, a few days ago it started acting funny. It would freeze just doing normal everyday tasks, then it would just start working again like nothing happened after about 2 minutes. Now today, it freezes on my welcome splash (the one after the htc, the windows splash). and it just sits there. Sometimes, if I let it sit for about 10 minutes, it will start up-VERY SLOWLY, and if you go into any menus, it freezes. I tried to re-flash, but it wont establish an activesync connection. Is there anyway to get the phone to flash in my situation? Hopefully, I could flash it back to a cingular rom and send it in for warranty.
Did you tried to hard reset your Wizard by resetting while holding Comm Manager and Voice Command button?
Yeap, runs through the set up, gets to the screen where it says "customizing in 3...2...1" and shuts off.
Well, today, it completely died. Won't turn on, tried a new battery.....nothing. Do you think, since it won't turn on, I may be able to sneak it by Exchange By Mail???
Fixed it! For some reason, the first time I tried a new battery, it didn't work. Tried it again just for the hell of it, and it fixed it. Strange.....
I had my Surround lock up twice today requiring me to remove the battery. Once while searching in the marketplace and another when I was typing in a text message. Anyone else have any freezes yet?
I'm only on day 2 with mine, but so far no freezes here.
i've had mine since nov 8th and i haven't had any freezes yet. has it done anything else?
I had a couple freezes 2 days after buying it requiring me to pull the battery once, but other than that, its been running every day since then without a reboot just fine.
I did install several applications from the marketplace which did not work until i booted the phone so perhaps that had something to do with it. Made me wish for a stylus and a reset switch though! Some things never change...
Mine just froze one time after downloading a program and I think it had to do with low signal strength so the download hung then the phone was frozen. Other than that smooth as can be.

I've had the Market freeze a few times on me too, but that's it so far...and I did pull the battery
Ive got a new one for you. The microphone on mine stopped working.... I was in the middle of a call and I could hear "hello...hello..." but he couldn't hear me. I did a power cycle and still no go. So I took the battery out and restarted it and it decided to work again. Now the battery was pretty low, but not dead you think that the noise cancelation crap in the phone could stop working with a low battery?? That was a new one for me
Constant Freezes and Reboots
Mine began locking up after I installed about 20 apps in one day. Then it would randomly reboot itself. Then it got bad, It would reset to default: no apps installed, no accounts, no contacts. But the wierd thing is, randomly it would come back with all my settings. I contacted HTC throug email and got a reply within 20 minutes. Told me to do Hard Reset because OS got corrupt somehow. Hold Volume Up & DOWN while powering ON. Options come up on screen to Hard Reset. I have since reinstalled every app as before and it works flawless now. Loving my Surround!!
I had my first reboot today, I was typing in a text message and it hung on the letter "I" then when dark after 30 seconds or so. It immediately botted back up and has been fine ever since. Strange...
Turned on my TF today, changed it's orientation and it crashed.
So I tried to reboot, but when I boot it up, it gives me a crackling noise that lasts maybe 1 second. I see the Asus EEE screen, but it doesn't go past that.
I boot into Recovery and tried to wipe, it wouldn't wipe. So I tried to restore, it froze midway while restoring data.
Not sure what I can do... and it's a few days AFTER the "no questions asked" period for a refund or exchange!
Any ideas?
Edit: Attempted to wipe again and it worked. Reflashed the ROM and all is well now.
Not sure what the initial cause was, but seemed pretty serious. Hopefully it won't return.
I've had alot of problems with mine lately..
it will not "hard reboot" or whatever its called. If i hold the button down for 10 secs its just restarts, i dont get the option to wait 30 secs and start it again.
Yesterday every program started crashing on it.. If i just touched a button the app would crash, even system.android.whatever was crashing.
So i ended up doing a factory reset.
Today, after ONLY installing honeycomb approved apps wich i tought was the reason for the crash yesterday it locked up in the browser when i asked it to go to google.com. I tried to reboot it with the 10 second hold in but it just restarted automaticly. Got stuck on the loadscreen, just the asus logo flickering.
I entered the bootloader and somehow managed to press "delete user data" wich semed to be another way to "factory reset"
Im seriously considering to RMA it, but i guess ill just get the same **** back.
Any others struggeling like this???
I have my phone for almost 2 months now.
Last week I updated to latest 4.4.2 available,
using the android popup asking me if I want to.
Everything was just fine, until 3 days ago.
Every day for the last 3 days I had one random restart per day.
Day 1...unlocking the lockscreen...
lockscreen was fine after several times pressing power button,
but unlocking the phone just made black screen instead of desktop screen,
notification bar worked fine on the top and sliding it down...
After minute or so phone restarted
Day 2...while opening messages
Black screen and restart after a minute.
Day 3
I turned the screen off and wanted to turn it back on and unlock it,
nothing happened after pressing the power button
I just toke the battery out and restarted the phone,
because I already knew that this would happen after waiting a minute anyway.
I did not install any new applications or change anything on the phone for the last 3 days
I have auto update disabled.
I participate in the Facebook android beta program,
but since the aplication was not updated for more than a week,
I doubt that it causes daily crashes, if it did not before.
I still have not found a solution yet.
Phone is rebooting once a day or once in a two days...
Nobody knows what could it be?
Anyone else having a similar experience and solution ? I have done a factory reset and have barely any apps. Basically when I leave it after using it I will return and be unable to turn it on. Nothing I do seems to be able to get it going again. I place it on the charger and come back a number of hours later and eventually I can get it to restart.
Not related to battery power level, and doesn't happen all the time.
Got mine today. Happened once so far. Just hold the power button for a while and it resets.
But, this better not be a daily problem.

Disable " lock on screen " option in launcher. That option give you ability tap twice to lock screen . Regurds
It only happened to me once first day, then i got two OTA updates, and it never happened again.
