At&T Tilt On Tmobile network

I have a At&t Tilt W/Duttys dualtouch final rom radio version 1.27.11.31 running opera mini 4 On TMOBILE network tried eveything in the book and searched evey forum trying to figure out why my tmobile edge connection says connected and not be. PIE will start by locating, connecting, opening, and finally freezing. Opera mini will start progress and stop half way and freeze. My SMS works fine but my MMS also has a problem it will send a percentage of the file and freeze. After configuring everything manually still nothing I have called tmobile and still no hope all my settings are correct according to forums and tmobile customer support I even tried the lurch2 TmobileUS cab and the MMS Tmobile settings cab. I've also read on the fact the phone is 3g it will not work on tmobile until their release of 3g having to due with a test on their network. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it .

You've probably got your answer, but I use a tilt with Edge just fine. Sounds like a phone issue. I have used Duttys Roms and they all worked fine.

Did you try?
Start/Settings/Connections/Connections/Manage existing connections/Proxy Setting/ and uncheck the box next to (the network uses a proxy server to coonect to the Internet
I hope this works for you.

What i do for my sister's tilt on tmo is use Network Wizard (google it) and install that, then tell it USA then TMO and let it do its thing. afterwards you can uninstall it if you care. i would reccomend changing the MMS settings to 5 attempts and to use T-Mobile Data rather than T-Mobile MMS to connect, that way it doesn't have to establish a new connection, it just downloads.

I have been using t-mobile on my tilt 8925 wm6.0 stock rom been through many planning on many more trying to find out how to put tmobile progs and apps on and remove att B.s. im am a n00b as i would be refered to but seeing as i have only owned a htc for as long as i have had a account here i think im moving right up the ranks and would really like to learn more and start writing my own roms looking for a push in the right direction Thanks in adavnce

help pls virgin apn settings for mms and internet

can anyone help me with the apn settings for virgin pls. i've had a look and tryed a few but none seem to be working.
i've got andoird rom mdeejay evo sence revolution 2.3 . and everything is working ok, just the internet and mms aint, when im at home the wifi is ok but still cant send mms over wifi at home .
can someone pls help me as it is really giving me a headache .

i'm having some issues with this too i guess the problem is from virgin piggy backing t-mobile... tried both settings neither work! only had this problem since i upgraded my android rom mind you....

Yeah since I went on andoird it doesn't work.tried a few now and still can't get it to work. It works ok on winmo.
Not sure what else to try.

Am on a virgin contract as well and in their website is the "how to" in setting Internet and MMS setting. Works all the time when I'm testing desire builds.
BTW MMS can't be sent over WiFi. Never has been.

have you tried the setting on sd/ram builds ?
as i'm using froyo superram sense by darkstone
and internet works fine but mms doesn't
when i use the virgin settings for internet the internet stops working too lol might try a different build
or could you possibly send me a copy of your config.xml (not sure of the exact name?) for network settings?

[Q] No Data connections via Phone in Android

Hi:
I am using AmeriCanAndroid AOSPHD2GB232CM7RC1|bkup2sdext234[KERNEL:AmCanAndroid r2.21] and just about everything works perfectly.
The only issue I seem to have is in Android, I cannot use the mobile phone to get internet. The Phone sends and receives call perfectly, but if I want to use Market or the browser, I get the error:
A NETWORK ERROR HAS OCCURED. rETRY OR cANCEL AND RETURN TO PREVIOUS SCREEN.
I think I have tried every combination of settings in the wireless section. Is anyone else having this issue?

the only known temp(!) fix is to restart ur phone , given ur settings are correct it should work for a while .... have you been switching data on/off a few times? thats when it happens to me ....
be sure to report this problem to rom cooker so it gets fixed faster ...

When you say restart, do you mean restart android? I don't think I have ever been connected, unless there was WIFI in the area.

I use this ROM without these problems.
Try to check the apn and the DNS. Have a look at the faq.

i have the same problem but im using HD2Froyo_V2.1.7z.
everything works perfectly fine except for my data connection.
the only way i can use the internet is via wifi

Yes I also has the same problem. Please let me know if you find a solution. Wifi works fine on my HD2 after flashing to Anroid 2.2 Bur no data connection through phone connection.

I am have the same problem on my phone also. Have the T-Mobile phone using the ATT system. Have tried several different roms and still cannot get a Data connection. A lot of us need some help please. If anyone can shed light on this, please let us know.

i called t-mobile and told them, i could only connect to the internet via wifi. i pay for data and i cant connect unless its through wifi. DO NOT mention that you flashed your phone, put a different ROM or Android.
After doing this my internet started to work again

May I ask what you told TMO?
I read in an older post that you may have to switch from smartphone data plan to android data plan to connect to the internet, does anyone have any idea about this??
I also am curious if my build is synonymous with failed data connection... as well as (not related item) battery sucking....???or any other know issues as I seem to misplaced the page I downloaded it from...

My mobile internet doesn't seem to work on my lg gt540 what so ever although it works when connected to wifi I've contacted virgin (my provider) and I get the same BS like we will get back to you etc

EDIT : running 2.1 also this is a orange phone that I unlocked to allow use of my virgin sim could this be the problem?

I had a similar thing but going from 2.1 to 2.3.2 - I think you need to set up the APN setting for Virgin. They should have a web page explaining what the settings are. Its setup in settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, access point names.

No problem

SMS wont work after installing CM7.2

I installing CM7.2 and SMS no longer works.
I have tried,
installing new SMS program.
Going threw settings but cant see anything out of the ordinary.
Changing the SMSC to the one for my carrier both in normal format and in PDU format
rebooting after every change
going on telstra website and asking to be sent the settings
Oh re changing the settings in baseband switcher
Nothing works, Is it as simple as something is disabled?
I wish I could find a rom that would work without crashing or things not working!

I had problem connecting to Telstra 3G (see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1634366#). But works fine on 2G. Is this similar to you?

Looks like its back to ICS again! I dont use the camera at all so thats the only problem I come across.

ok wont work on CM9 as well what the hell is going on? the SMSC is right so it cant be that!
Maybe telstra SMS service is down?

Ok put my sim card into my old sony ericsson cedar and it wont send.
Should of done that first now I flashed a ROM for no reason

Ok I rang telstra and they reset the account all is working again. The service people dont have a clue. They didnt even know how to get into change the SMSC number, Lucky I did if I didnt there would be no way I would find it. It was right anyway and they gave me the +61 number that doesnt work on androids lol no clue at all.
Now I have reinstalled CM7.2 again! telstra are a pain in the arse.
