can anyone help me with the apn settings for virgin pls. i've had a look and tryed a few but none seem to be working.
i've got andoird rom mdeejay evo sence revolution 2.3 . and everything is working ok, just the internet and mms aint, when im at home the wifi is ok but still cant send mms over wifi at home .
can someone pls help me as it is really giving me a headache .
i'm having some issues with this too i guess the problem is from virgin piggy backing t-mobile... tried both settings neither work! only had this problem since i upgraded my android rom mind you....
Yeah since I went on andoird it doesn't work.tried a few now and still can't get it to work. It works ok on winmo.
Not sure what else to try.

Am on a virgin contract as well and in their website is the "how to" in setting Internet and MMS setting. Works all the time when I'm testing desire builds.
BTW MMS can't be sent over WiFi. Never has been.
have you tried the setting on sd/ram builds ?
as i'm using froyo superram sense by darkstone
and internet works fine but mms doesn't
when i use the virgin settings for internet the internet stops working too lol might try a different build
or could you possibly send me a copy of your config.xml (not sure of the exact name?) for network settings?

Hello, So I just got my new HD2 unlocked and on ATT and for some reason I can surf the internet, send/recieve sms but can not send/recieve MMS. I have tried the various patches, triple checked all MMS Server Settings (wireless cingular com and http mmsc cingular com ) and am still not getting anywhere.
I just called ATT today to get my IMEI number updated and that still hasnt helped. I am running Touch X-Treme 2 2.0.00.01, Rom Version 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE, Radio Version 2.10.50.28_2 and I just had Rom Version 2.11.50.29 (i think) earlier today with no change.....
Any Info would be great, I've looked all over the forums with no success, I'm in the Portland Oregon area and picture messages would be nice

I have never had good luck with ANY of the custom roms on either ATT or tmobile getting and sending MMS. I'd suggest flash back to stock ROM and then try it with the correct settings. I ended up doing that and its worked flawlessly. I just had to manually customise my ROM.
I am running a custom rom and have never had an issue with sending or receiving MMS once I am done flashing this rom and testing Ill upload all the settings. I am also running on ATT

Hey, Thanks you guys for your help, I think I can do a flash within a couple hours, will PIMBackup save MMS messages that I have not 'downloaded'? And should I go back to the TMobile ROM or the HTC?
One other little thing, Should 3G/HSDPA be working with this phone on ATT's network?

Soooo.... I just recieved a picture with Energy Rom.... soooo.....hmmm.... the only thing i dont like about energy is the menu bar at the bottom....looks like crap....so hopefully Touch X-Treme can use some tweaking to get it working.

Correct, AT&T uses 3G bands that the Tmo hardware isn't able to handle (and vice-versa). You can still use their EDGE data though.
Yeah, MMS still isnt working with Touch X-Treme....

I am using AmeriCanAndroid AOSPHD2GB232CM7RC1|bkup2sdext234[KERNEL:AmCanAndroid r2.21] and just about everything works perfectly.
The only issue I seem to have is in Android, I cannot use the mobile phone to get internet. The Phone sends and receives call perfectly, but if I want to use Market or the browser, I get the error:
A NETWORK ERROR HAS OCCURED. rETRY OR cANCEL AND RETURN TO PREVIOUS SCREEN.
I think I have tried every combination of settings in the wireless section. Is anyone else having this issue?

the only known temp(!) fix is to restart ur phone , given ur settings are correct it should work for a while .... have you been switching data on/off a few times? thats when it happens to me ....
be sure to report this problem to rom cooker so it gets fixed faster ...
When you say restart, do you mean restart android? I don't think I have ever been connected, unless there was WIFI in the area.
I use this ROM without these problems.
Try to check the apn and the DNS. Have a look at the faq.

Yes I also has the same problem. Please let me know if you find a solution. Wifi works fine on my HD2 after flashing to Anroid 2.2 Bur no data connection through phone connection.

I am have the same problem on my phone also. Have the T-Mobile phone using the ATT system. Have tried several different roms and still cannot get a Data connection. A lot of us need some help please. If anyone can shed light on this, please let us know.

i called t-mobile and told them, i could only connect to the internet via wifi. i pay for data and i cant connect unless its through wifi. DO NOT mention that you flashed your phone, put a different ROM or Android.
After doing this my internet started to work again

I read in an older post that you may have to switch from smartphone data plan to android data plan to connect to the internet, does anyone have any idea about this??

EDIT : running 2.1 also this is a orange phone that I unlocked to allow use of my virgin sim could this be the problem?
I had a similar thing but going from 2.1 to 2.3.2 - I think you need to set up the APN setting for Virgin. They should have a web page explaining what the settings are. Its setup in settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, access point names.

Hi all
I'm using HACKDRIOD v0.30 rom and everything is working fine, Well almost everything but I cant seem to use the mobile network to browse the internet. I can make calls and send text messages and I can browse internet via wifi. I tried configuring the access point settings and no luck. As a last resort I need help on this issue.
I hope someone solve this problem and top marks to racht for a smooth and good looking rom.

I have the same problem, i can't connect to WIFI (0.25, 0.30, FroyoBread and some others), only on v0.20 works...
I fixed it. The setting o2 were sending me were for an iphone on prepay not pay and go on andriod. What balloons.

Actually you can ask your network provider to provide you the correct setting for your phone! I think calling the customer service will help.
I am in the US and have a international galaxy s2 on AT&T...My phone is fully rooted, and I am currently running Batista70 FOXHOUD EDITION 2.1 but i cant seem to get my mms on a consistant basis....I have tried several roms so I am pretty sure it isnt that, I can send mms and have a great 3g signal but most of the time I cant recieve my mms...I can browse the internet and download from the market just fine but there again I cant seem to get the mms to recieve...It seems like on a fresh rom install i get the mms fine but then after a day or so I go back to not being able to recieve one at all...I have tried different apn settings and have made sure I am on the right AT&T data plan (HSDPPB) as mentioned in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1109983) and I still cant get anything consistant on RECIEVING! It has really been agravating and I would love to figure out what I can do to get this working right, I dont know if it is the modem software??? Is it my apn settings??? I have tried different things and still nothing so any help would greatly be apprecitated and I have noticed alot of other people in threads seem to be having this problem so if we can figure it out I would love to make a thread to help out others...thanks in advance...
