Yeah it sounds like your volume key is broken you will need to get it fixed.
volume key is not broken its from the task 29 update
Not really understood your problem. It is likely you have run Task 29 (which formats your phone memory), and never install any new ROM (neither WinMo 6 nor Android)?
i update my phone from winmo 6,5 to android nand after 5monthes
when i try to back to winmo 6.5 now
i use task 29 to format my phone ......after that when i press the power my phone go to boot loder ...i try to flash with winmo 6.5 using my pc and after done ....my phone back to boot loder......i try flash winmo by sd card and give me sucsses on the screen but when i power my phone he boot to boot loder ......i try to flash mglder 113 by my pc and it done sucssesful ....and when i power my phone it go to bootloder...
when the phone is off and i connect the computer cable it power to boot loder.....i dont press the power
if i insert the sd card with leoimg and power the phone it go to boot loder and start flash the room and give me compleet and sucsses...
but when i power the hd2 it go to bootloder agin and agin and agin....
plz help
Take the windows rom and rename it to "leoimg.nbh" then put it on root of your sd card. When you next go into bootloader it should flash your phone.
As previously said, it sounds as though your Volume Down button is faulty.
You may not be pressing the Volume Down button but it may be making contact and when you press the Power Button it will send the phone into BootLoader Mode.
when i press volume up and vol dowe together and press power the phone go to format screen
but when i press volum up it go to boot loder
if my volum down is prokin ...my phone must go to format screen..
befor i use the task 29 my volume key is working good
Remove the SD Card.
Put it into Bootloader Mode -what does it say on the screen?
Does it fully boot up without SD Card?
when i remove sd card the hd2 boot into boot loder
Put it into Bootloader Mode -what does it say on the screen?
my problem is.. the hd2 is boot to bootloder every time i press the power
and when i make update via pc or sd card the update is sucssesful...
..........................................
my phone Appears to be sound except that he boot to boot loder every time
Be sure that the vol dowen is sound.

Might be an HSPL bug, I would flash stock rom from SD, this will replace your stock SPL back on, then flash HSPL again, then try your ROM.

Hi all ^^
I'm new here, and I just received my HD2 and wanted to flash it with one of the cool ROMs you have on this forum.
I flashed the HSPL with HSPL2 and everything went smoothly. Then I downloaded one of CleanEX DSE Core Rom (the 6.5 Maniless FRE) to be precise.
I flashed it, all was good, at the end the phone rebooted and i was stuck at the boot screen written "HTC CleanEX UDT DsE Series". I thought maybe it was because I didn't do a hard reset yet. So i did one, everything initialyze and when it's done same thing, the phone reboot and I'm stuck at the same boot screen...
I'm starting to get a bit stressed out because if I can't connect to Activesync I can't even put an original Rom or an other twinked one ><
Does anybody know what I did wrong or why it's not working ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
PS: My phone is a french phone.
radio - go back and reread that roms thread for recommendation, however 2.07.50.x or higher should do it.
boot to bootloader, connect usb, flash radio, phone will now boot
Connect your phone to PC and turn it on while holding volume down, bootloader menu should apear (red, green, blue, white) then you can run Rom flashing tool on your PC
but i recomend flashing newer RADIO because this may be the reason for your current issue.
That was a really quick and effective answer !!
Thanks a lot to both of you !!!! *hugs*
its seriously the radio

are you flashing the ROM on a different micro sd card? you cant use a 8GB or 16GB. Try a smaller card like a 1GB or 2GB.
also rename the stock ROM to LEOIMG.nbh.
put that ROM file on a smaller card and go into bootloader should come right up. worked for me when i had to re-install stock to return defective unit.
I was trying to follow these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
I got as far as installing MAGLDR. When the phone restarted itself, it will not go passed the O2 welcome screen.
A hard reset (VolUp + VolDown + power) doesn't work.
If I hold vol down while I power it up it goes to the Red,Green,Blue,White screen where it says:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE

no u are not bricked just reflash magdlr when its in the tri color screen vol down + power next time post in questions forums
Turn off phone by taking out battery and put it in
Then hold down vol down and then press off/end call button
should take you to coloured screen then connect to computer and it should say usb at bottom
then download the htc hd2 software off the htc site then flash the original software and should be back to normal
every nand build i test i do the following...
1. task 29
1b. flash radio
2. magldr
3. nand build
Are you holding end button while booting? that'll take you to magldr menu.
if it doesn't, then don't fear yet, cuz it's not bricked. Bircked is when you can't even turn it on, or it doesn't boot, or something like that. You can't even enter the rainbow screen when it's bricked.

It's cool that you're trying to help but this is how people brick their phones. It's obvious, from him posting on here, that he's panicking. He'll go to htc site and just download any official rom and if he has a tmousa hd2 he's bricked it now. Not saying he does but you have to be specific with people around here. You'd be surprise how many complete newbs are on here who Just refuse to bother searching and reading

listen just download a official rom from hd rom development
and then extract the file with 7z or winrar
you will see a nbh file
change it to as follows leoimg.nbh
place it on any empty micro sd card and insert it into the phone
and then restart with holding vol down
after the tricolor screen you will see a grey screen with options for updating your rom
just follow the instructions and you will install a new wm6 rom
after that follow the video and the instructions for the noobs on the hd2 nand rom development section ,download the video and follow it as it says you will be fine.
i have been through this and this is what i did and i am with gauners hd nand version on my hd2 running perfectly

It's used to clean NAND of leftover from previous ROMs.
Sent from my HD2 Droid using XDA App
There are a few methods to fix your problem actually,
Restore back to Factory Default with Official HTC firmware
Download Official HTC HD2 O2 firmware
Extract RUU_signed.nbh from the EXE file using 7-zip
Rename RUU_signed.nbh to leoimg.nbh and copy to the root directory of SD Card that is formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 and insert it into device
Power off your device
Hold onto the Volume Down Button and Power up the device
The bootloader will auto detect the leoimg.nbh file, and will start restoring back to default. This will restore your SPL, RADIO and FIRMWARE.
RED/GREEN/BLUE method
Power down the device
Hold Volume Down button and Power up the device
You will then see the RED/GREEN/BLUE screen
Connect the device via USB to your Computer
Wait for RED/GREEN/BLUE screen to show USB on the bottom instead of SERIAL
Run RADIO Upgrade (MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 2.10.50 and ABOVE)
I am GUESSING, your RADIO version is incorrect, causing it to loop.
You must use HSPL 2.08
You must use RADIO version that supports 576mb of RAM
Radio Thread
Incidentally, you can also reflash the firmware to any WINMO custom or official firmware while in RED/GREEN/BLUE screen as long as the bottom says USB and the device is really connected to the computer via USB. It might overwrite MAGLDR, and it might boot back into the official or custom firmware.
xcesivemastub8ah, both method works, again, help is "FREELY" provided to people who are willing to take the advise. People need to understand, if they tinker with something, they can and will tinker it to death. If you don't want to brick it, don't mess with it, use it as intended by the manufacturers, stock original.
No bootloader !!!!

trying to "flash" stock ROM
I promise I read through the threads before I posted, but you knw how your heart races and U cant think, let alone pick up new terms? welcome to my world...
Anywy, bought a 4GB Micro SD to try to flash [I don't know exactly what that means] my stock ROM again. I'll start with saving stock ROM I downloaded to the SD and plug the battery back into HD2 with the new SD loaded.... Is that flashing?
Thanks to anyone that can help!
back up but would love some trouble shooting
to see what I did wrong and get Android on here. Thanks for an help and all the threads that're out there
To get Android back on do this:
1) download this file http://cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Android/DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF.rar
2) turn the phone onto that bootloader, then run the RUU file from the download, it should flash magldr.
3) once magldr boots you can flash the Android ROM of your choice from this list
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
You may have to flash a clockworkmod recovery, in the ROM thread it may link you to the right one to flash using the USB flasher mode in magldr.
Thanks!
I'll try that and follow up here for others
I have the same problem exactly.
and the ruu you give told me ERROR (260) : CONNECTION
What can i do?
No one here can solve this problem?

Maybe you don't install your ActiveSync or WMDC v6.1 correctly.
Your phone still working, because enter to bootloader but just no rom in side or error rom so it don't start up.
Please try to uninstall your activeSync or WMDC and restart your PC. Restart your PC and install ActiveSync or WMDC again.
I hope it working.

Very anoying, i was curious about the HD2 Toolkit so i intstalled it and started working with it.
I used task 29 and after that i used clk repartition.
Now i'm stuck at udc_start()
I think because it wont connect usb
Only thing i can do is start into that and bootloader.
But when i'm in bootloader it wont connect to USB
WMDC is fresh so i'm out of options?
What do i need to do

flash stock via sd and try again.
Perhaps the Down volume button is damaged (always pressed and not released and you can not complete procedure to boot from SD) or at worst a shortcircuit board or processor that manifests similar.
I think I've the same problem, but with the UP volume button. I solved it after I uninstalled .dll's volume controller from WM65 (otherwise it beeps continuously and permanently displayed on the screen was the volume controller picture, like as I hold the volume up button continuously) and we could use in normal conditions.
Only the battery ends quickly (the phone completely stopped overnight, but with the battery inside the morning battery is dead). Otherwise in "normal use" is empty in 2-3 hours.
Hi, I try to install android nand on my htc hd2. I had SPL 2.08.0000, so i do HARDSPL, everything was fine. Next step was changing radio to 2.15.50.14, I decided to remove windows phone stuff in task29. I did everything according to instructions, and installation was started. I waited few minutes, but progress bar was still on 0%. On hd2 screen, I got notification to press power button to start update or press volume down to cancel. I installed android first time, so I thought that pressing power button was right. Next, phone screen was changed on the htc logo and progress bar. After 4% hd2 was turn off, and i had error on task29 installer. Thats all. Now, I can't do anything. I turn on hd2, and i have 4-color screen with this information:
SS-BC
SPL-3.03.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
Please help me ;/
It appears the Task 29 did remove your ROM as you said it will only boot to the multi color bootloader screen. But because you got the error message the Task 29 must not have finished completly. It also appears you had a LEOIMG.nbh file on your SD card cause you said the following.
On hd2 screen, I got notification to press power button to start update or press volume down to cancel. I installed android first time, so I thought that pressing power button was right. .
So you see it appears to me that when your HD2 either booted into bootloader mode or was rebooted into bootloader mode it detected the LEOIMG.nbh file on your SD card and asked you if you wanted to flash the update cause that is what the bootloader is programed to do when it detects a LEOIMG.nbh file. And when you pressed the power button you told the HD2 to flash the file. So some how that messed up the Task 29 and the Task 29 messed up the flash of the nbh file.
I would remove the SD card and re run the Task 29 and then flash MAGLDR or cLK wich ever one you want to use for your Android bootloader. You can check out the guide in my sig if you want, it should provide some guidance to you.
When I remove sd card, progress bar(on installer and hd2) stuck on 0% and task29 shows error 262. After removing battery and turning of the phone again, on screen appears notification "Software update failed. Please try again". I still have SPL-3.03.0000. Maybe HSPL4 will help?

Yeah if you have SPL version 3.03.0000 then you have to use HSPL 4 to flash HSPL that SPL version is why HSPL 4 was created by the DFT because HSPL 1 through 3 are not compatible with SPL version 3.03.0000. Go here for HSPL 4.
Also Task 29 wil not work without HSPL being on your HD2. I bet when you flashed via SD card it removed HSPL and that is why your Task 29 will not work.

Anwar,
You dont have an option, just reformat your card using a Nokia phone,
reinstall WM6.5,Magldr and then reflash WP7.
If You dont want to flash WM6, then do a task29, and flash WP7 using Magldr way.

Have you tried hard-resetting it?
Yeah, try hard resetting and WP7 should recapture the SD card.
How to hard reset when WP7 won't boot due to SD card issues?
Turn on device > during Magldr when 12345 GO! GO! GO! appears, press and hold vol up/down until grey screen > press vol down twice to perform hard reset.
After reset is complete, go to Settings > About and confirm that it's part of the total storage space. If it's not, hard reset until it is. Worse case... you may need to reflash, but that shoudln't be necessary.

If you hard reset WP7, it will reformat the card.
If you use a Nokia phone, it will reformat the card.
Whatever option you choose, you will lose the data on the SD card.

You did not understand my instructions and did it wrong.
1 - Power on the HD2
2 - Wait for Magldr
3 - When magldr starts to boot WP7, you'll see the screen say "12345" "GO! GO! GO!"
4 - While the 12345 is appearing, THEN press volume up AND down AT THE SAME TIME.
5 - You'll get a grey screen that tells you to press vol down to reset...
This is what you did wrong:
When you turned on the HD2, you pressed vol down. The opened the bootloader (tri-color) screen. This is not the correct place to reset WP7.
You MUST perform the reset after Magldr starts to boot WP7 and not before magldr starts at all.
Try it again. If you do it right, it will work.

My new SD card will come tomorrow. Can I just put in the new card and do this or do I have to re-flash back to 6.5 and start again?

No matter what card you use, you must do this.
You cannot put a new card in without doing a hard reset, and you cannot unlock a card like what you've got now without doing it either.
So, you have to hard reset to fix your current card and then use dev_storagelock to unlock it and format it on your computer.
And... you have to do a hard reset anyway when you start using the new card.
Might as well do them both. You should not have to go back to WM6.5 to solve any of these problems. I made that mistake once and it takes hours to reflash and update. Not worth it.
I don't know why it took you hours. I went back to 6.5 then flashed to the ROM I'm using now in like 10 minutes. Thanks for the tip about changing SD cards tho. I'll give it a go tomorrow

I have the updatable yuki ROM. So, it's not just flash-n-go. I flash 7004 then update to 7720. That takes about 1.5hrs to do.

I see. The upgrading of the SD card worked perfectly.

No! You have to wait for 12345 to start to appear, then immediately press volume up and down at the same time.if you get the Terri color screen then you've done it wrong
