And once again a thread about miui by the same person blah blah bl..
Yes fine but i do actually have something this time!!
As shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1hVXPiuo6Q&feature=related
does the acer liquid thing run miui
Tere the blade's specs http://www.gsmarena.com/zte_blade-3391.php
And
The liquid's specs http://www.gsmarena.com/acer_liquid-2968.php
The screen is the same the cpu of the acer is faster but the blade has the double ram (i have the 5mp/512mb ram version)
So why not?
I would love to help and i wont say that i don't have time since that would be a lie.
I'm willing to help everywhere i can.
Acer have snapdragon CPU, blade have arm v6 CPU, MIUI not supporting arm v6

That shouldn't be a problem.
Its still android and if we find a supported kernel will it work.
a cpu is a cpu. android is android. a kernel is a kernel. Three simple things that will make it possible.

anyone up for a kingdom sense port ?
No really. would that work?
or does it only support arm7 cpus too :/
because if will we just port sense 2.1 (2.3.3) from the desire s c:
i would do it! even if sense is a little sucky
we would spend some time on something then :3
anyone up for it?

Yes c: i think it will be possible we can use stuff from the wildfire s since it has an arm11 or whatever cpu too :3
i know a little about porting i've helped with the GT540 sense port (which never worked out :/)
If a portage is possible, the base would that of HTC Salsa, or maybe the Desire ?
Sense defiantly will not port, miui may. i am not too sure. I can try give it a go once im done with porting the 2x

It worked fine on the P500 GT540 SGS DROID Defy But Look the P500 and GT540 (have/had them both) Have the same cpu and less ram than the blade so why not.?

I have heard that some guys managed to port Android 3.0, better known as Honeycomb, to the G1, HTC Magic and to the Nexus One.
This are of course very beta versions, but the phones boot with it.
So, I wonder if someone could port 3.0 to our Xperia?
The HTC Magic and G1 were the first phones with Android, so our Xperia must be much better than them and, theoratically, it could work on it with just fewer lags than on the G1.
There are so many 2.2 and 2.3 ROMs available for our Xperia, so why not try to port 3.0?
If you think this is a stupid thread, just remove it, but I just wanted to know it.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
USE SEARCH FEATURE ON XDA AND YOU WILL FIND IT. Don't be lazy
You must be new here!
you will get burned at the stake by the guys here for opening such thread xD we are struggling to get a 100% bugless working android 2.2 and you bringing up android 3.0 which is meant for tablets with big screens xD lol
Edit : also such question is not meant to be in the dev section....
It was just a noob question...I also said that the versions for Nexus One, G1 and Magic are very beta versions.
There used to be an early version of Honeycomb somewhere here but the project has been abandoned. And no wonder - our kernel cannot even run Gingerbread without bugs, not to mention higher versions...
Even the kernel supports it, maybe phone will be too much laggy, as the HoneyComb suggests the need of 1.0Ghz processor, that is not our Case
So why they can run it on G1?
Does it have an unlocked bootloader, so you can flash a custom kernel?

Probably yes, Xperia stills locked and cannot boot custom kernels
Some dev are trying to make the bootloader bypass, but is not easy. :/

Graveir and aldee_s are right: someone has already ported it, but development is currently down.
here is the thread to it:

Blagus was disappointed with that, the only one that i saw making some progress was maxfron, but I didn´t saw him anymore
That had it ported but far to laggy m8 r CPU 2 slow at the min but I think I may still have that download ill cheack for u and upload it if so
my civic
Is because our phone is not ARMv7 & above and the processor speed is not super fast..if u port it into x8 it will buggy & lags in all of the function
Lets wait for 2. 4 but google need so much time : #

As in title, can we hope to see Ice Cream Sandwitch on our Tattoo sooner or later (maybe through CyanogenMod)? The Android team said that EVERY phone that had Gingerbread can have ICS: it's the same for the Tattoo or it's not doable due to the limited hardware (I also mean screen size)?

i really hope we can see this happen
but for now i think it's to early to say. high end phones have no info yet, so we gotta be very patient ICS source is not out yet...
so for now, we are happy that we have 2.3.7 which isn't on many high end devices
this is a nice read
http://www.androidcentral.com/ice-cream-sandwich-what-happens-next
We have to wait until Google releases the source-code. After that, we can see if our device will be able to run ICS
I have actually given up the hope to upgrade my tattoo further than 2.3.7, because I don't feel that my phone can use the new features in 4.0 so what's the point ^^ GPU Accelerated UI and better dual core support isn't very much for the tattoo. The ride with my tattoo has however been really nice, and it was a really good way to get introduced to android Galaxy Nexus here I come?

Looks like there's a chance to get ICS in our Tattoos
I have checked it yesterday.
stelios97 has ported it to both X10 mini and wildfire,
so there is very good chance that we can have ics miui for tattoo.
But then I wonder, is there any dev still holding a Tattoo to help us.
Would be really nice to have MIUI on our tattoo.
It would even be better than having ICS!

The other day I read that 2.3.7 source for MIUI was released
http://shrewdgeek.com/2012/02/04/xiaomi-makes-miui-gingerbread-2-3-7-open-source/
all we need is to get it compiled for ARM v6
Where are the developers for tattoo roms?
Arco? Kalimocho? rallapag? you've also done some ports, didn't you?
can someone port MIUI to our tattoo?
i don't know much about android rom development, but i think it wouldn't be much more work to port this miui rom than port some sense roms. a wildfire version is already available.
Its more some driver related things, i think
can someone try it please?
Hi .dot
You know, I am not a dev.
What ever I do, I am afraid it will be incomplete like my sense 2.3 rom port.
We need a real dev, unfortunately Arif-ali as well gave up working on Tattoo yesterday has indefinitely stopped android development.

100% fake , this sites which states that their "tool" will "update" ANY phone OS , are never real. The hardware is highly different and almost never this "tools" upgrade anything , or if they do , its highly possible to brick your phone ...
It's fake. The only real places to get info and updates to the latest Android version are xda and similar forums. Arco was developing a CM9 ROM for Wildfire, he even posted a video of it booting up and running, but as far as I know official CM9 support will be removed for Wildfire, as it has no dedicated GPU. A dedicated GPU is one of the requirements of ICS. I guess arco has stopped development of CM9 on Wildfire and moved to another device because of this. The ICS UI will be pretty laggy running on a phone without a GPU.

But the X10 mini will meet the minimum requeritments to performance??
Because ics is resources dog :/
More info about this:
http://www.ozandroid.info/?p=2831
Sumarizing more operations of native kernel linux are moved to virtual machine :/ and is known that virtual machine are slow compared to binaries.
ICS-> cool interface , resource DOG = x10 mini killer, the main problem is the ram, not as the cpu.
Gingerbread-> not as cool as ics, but less resources
Froyo->less fingerfriendly, but less resources and way faster than 2.1, little more than 2.3

No problem, already tested other builds of ICS for our X10 Mini's. Performance its great, same as Gingerbread. UI seems smoother. Ics it's a better OS overall, and Ram also seems to be enough.
When the devs compile or reuse a working camera driver, we'll have a FULL rom... every other thing works like a charm now.
cheers.

I'd like to see Ubuntu become available for the DHD. I'd definitely enjoy playing around with it. If Ubuntu for the PC could have easily run Adobe apps (out of the box) I would probably have been using it at home for the past few years. Would love to see it on our phones. It would help to breathe new life into the trusty DHD, if indeed the DHD can run it smoothly enough.

Canonical announced that the new Ubuntu OS would be available in two kinds of phones, one at the entry level and the other one called “High-end superphone."
The hardware requirements are quite acceptable. The Entry level Ubuntu smartphone needs to have at least a 1Ghz Cortex A9 (single core as the bare minimum), 512MB or 1GB memory, a 4-8GB eMMC + SD for storage, and Multi-touch capability.
The high-end Ubuntu "superphone" is a little more demanding and will need at least Quad-core A9 or Intel Atom processors, minimum 1GB for memory, minimum 32GB eMMC + SD for storage, and Multi-touch.
The difference between the two models will consist in what Canonical calls “Desktop convergence.” With the help of a dock and a monitor, the high-end Ubuntu "superphone" can be turned into a thin client for Ubuntu.

despite the fact that QSD8255 architecture is simliar to Cortex A8, it easily reaches 1.5-1.7Ghz and with 700MB RAM it should be well above the minimum requirements, so performance shouldn't be an issue in any way..... Let's hope devs will succeed in integrating A8 based CPUs drivers.
I doubt, that it will be usefull. Just think about all the apps that support sharing with other OS and the SaaS through browsers. no need for DHD ubuntu here.
Ubuntu is a hell ride on desktop due to Unity. Hope it becomes joy ride on mobile phone.

Hey,
I think one of the main problem will be the disk space because I think it will be impossible to run a dual dual on a acceptable speed. But as on every OS, the apps will decide.
Anyway, it will be nice to see some players on the field of the market
I think Ubuntu Phone OS will work with DHD. Its Linux Kernel, Linux OS. Its would be great when they release the source code.
Just remember HTC Said about the Sense 4.0 it will not work correctly on the DHD, it will lag. Now the DHD has Sense 4.1, we also have jellybean and icecream sandwich.
For the DHD there is no such word as can't.
I think it would take a long time to port Ubuntu to DHD
