HD2 suddenly dead this morning

Hi there,
when I woke up this morning, I hit the power button to switch on the display, in order to see, if there are any emails. However, my HD2 would not switch on. Panically, I connected it to the power cable - no light on top. Aaah... What happened? Yesterday, in the evening, everything was totally fine, everything worked, no problems so far.
Then I took out the battery, put it back in and then the HD2 started up again. Thank God! The battery was still at 80% - so, I am still wondering, what happened to my phone tonight.
Do you have any idea? Did you have a similiar problem?
My blackberry had same issue like your. I replaced the battery, and problem solved. If it's happen to your hd2 again or more times, try to replace battery.
Is it possible you dropped or knocked the phone when you put it to sleep
the night before and dislodged the battery ?
it's probably just a "sudden phone death" problem like it has been first pointed out several months ago in this forum... relocating the battery to force a reboot usually works
Something within Sense or WinMo likely crashed whilst the phone is in standby and it wont recover without a battery pull or pressing the reset button (red one under the battery case).
Updating to another ROM/Radio can remove these problems.

Won't turn on! :(

So last night at kickball, I sent a text to my wife. The next game, I wanted to see if she texted back, and my phone was off. I didn't remember the battery being low, but thought that perhaps it might have been. When I got home I plugged it in and got nothing. I tried to do the Power/Camera/Reset to see if it would go into bootloader; again nothing. I left the battery out all night, put it back in this morning, still nothing. I've tried usb charging and wall charging as well, with and without the battery. Nothing turns it on... is it done for?
Same thing happened to mine recently. I know the battery was low, and it turned off because of that. Never got it to turn on again.
The only sign of life mine shows is that the red led will turn on if you have it plugged into a charge with the battery out. Other than that, it's a paperweight.
Never got mine working again.
I took mine apart, and somehow got it to turn on again... it was a messy process.. something must be shorted out. Going to have to get something new soon.
i have just the same issue with moto milestone ... i am sure that the battery is fully charged, cause ive charged it with another milestone ... but that one simply won't turn on ... tried different combinations of sd/simcard/battery on and off .. still the same ... Any help would be highly appreciated.
same issue here, mine just stopped working yesterday, battery was fine, i did a soft reset randomly, and then it wouldn't turn back on. Both the talk and end lights are on, that's it..
Mine does the same thing since it was dropped in water. It had'nt been turned on for 2 years since I decided it would work! It still does the red light thing sometimes, but all I got to do is remove battery, try power button and repeat the process until it works. Try it out!

[Q] Dead backlight?

Has anyone experienced a dead back light on their EVO?
I flashed Caulkin's rom 2 days ago.. it has worked flawlessly for those 2 days.
Today, I used my phone, ended a call, plugged it into my car charger, and then the next time I tried to use it, the screen was dead.
I can see everything on the LCD in direct sunlight, but the back light won't light.
I've booted into recovery, flashed, etc.. still no back light - ever.
The lower keys still light up.
edit: Also, the phone is hot as hell. Like the 4g radio is on and I'm doing benchmarking all at the same time. CPU shows idle-ish, and 4g radio is off.
Other than turning it in (I need to flash back to stock) is there anything I can do?
Thanks...

The heat makes me think there was some kind of hardware failure. I'd assume something like this would be covered under the 1 year HTC warranty.
Back when I had my TP, whenever the phone would get too hot the backlight would 'disconnect' I guess to prevent damage to the phone, once the phone cooled down the backlight would come back to life... try it. I had to remove the battery to make it happen and let it cool down for a good 2 or 3 hours before I was able to get the backlight again. This happened because:
1 the phone was on direct sunlight OR
2 bad AC adapter overloaded the battery
I thought the same. I had the battery out for about 2 hours.. still the same thing.
Flashed the stock rom.. knowing that it wouldn't help (even when I boot into bootloader, still no BL).. but it's at least ready for Sprint in the morning.
FWIW, I was first in line on launch day for this phone. It's had some seriously heavy use.
But in the ~14-15 years of owning cell phones.. I've never had an issue like this.

Touch screen issues while and after charging

Hi guys ;
First let me say that i am sorry if there is another same topic, let i explain my problem,i bought LG G2 16GB international unlocked model, two months ago all was working completly fine for the past two months, last night my phone was at 2% battery life, while i went to get to the charger phone turned off(well i guess it drained the 2% fast since wifi and one game was working) i came back and pluged the charger in to the phone everything looked normal it was charging when it was 100% i unpluged it,after that for a minute or two when i started using it,it became extremly slowly, screen was totally unresponsive i was trying to unlock it with knock on all i was seeing is the LED notification light flash but display was not turning on,then after 3-4 attempts it turn on but then it become again "dead" then it unlock phone automatically and when i tap on the screen it should display the front unlock screen so when i swipe that it unlocks the device, but for me it was completly diffrent first it unlock the device and then for 3-4 seconds later display the unlock screen, but also after an hour or two after charging phone works fine no problem everything is good, but when i put it to charge it get really hot,not on the battery but on the top of the phone around camera, volume up/down,and lock keys,i don't know could KitKat cause this issues because phone is currently running KitKat? i think its hardwere issues connected something maybe either with the charger itself or some part at the top of phone maybe that is causing screen to go buggy ?so i'm still confused to send the phone to repair since i have warranty for two years or maybe its software problem that why i am asking, but i don't think it's software since KitKat was working for a month and didn't cause this problem,i mean it's not the problem to use the phone after it gets normal after charging, but i don't want every time to wait and waste an hour or two for letting phone getting back to normal.
Thanks for the help, and sorry for huge message.

Could a faulty battery be causing these issues?

I dropped my phone a bit ago and had to replace the screen. I also damaged the battery when I removed it so bought a supposedly genuine one.
The replacement battery doesn't charge right. It will say it's fully charged when the phone is switched off but when I turn the phone on it could be anywhere from 50%-100% charged.
Recently my phone has started turning itself off randomly. It doesn't power down. Just goes from on to off.
And then today it's been constantly asking me to re-enter my sim pin. But the phone isn't resetting before this happens.
I've tried a couple of different ROMS and they both do this.
Strangely if I go into recovery the phone NEVER turns off.
Could a dodgy battery cause these problems? Or is it a hardware problem?

Try it on stock ROM with a clean flash then report back

I thought of that. I'll give it a shot.
Tried with stock 4.4.4 and I can't even unlock my sim card now. I put in my pin number and it just goes back to asking for it again. A message flashes for a split second that I can't fully make out but I know it says "failed" at the end. Hmmmm, I'm thinking it's a hardware issue. New battery is coming tomorrow so I'll see if it is that.
Got my new battery today and my phone is now working. Who'd have thought a dodgy battery would cause such weird issues?
Congratulations
