Fake or not? Seems that the scores are highter than the Froyo stock

Scores don't seem too different from froyo. There's a thread in the dev section with preview videos.

I can confirm the video is real... Just not so. Certain about the gingerbread man.

Uuh... yea.... i can say i'm running Honeycomb if i want to. Hard to believe a video of something if the only thing remotely close to "proof" is the video title. No settings screen... no nothing.

Recent apps didn't look like the gb blur recent apps on dx also oddly careful not to show any of the os. Pretty sure this is fake

Was about to point that out about the recent apps...plus I'm on froyo running ginger blur and have averaged about 58-60 fps on neocore. This is a bogus vid.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App

This video is weird... i have 54 on neocore and 40 on nenamark ( 56.7 neocore and 51 nenamark on this video ) why the scores are highter?

maybe because of some mod of him, got it didyungboss22 ?
like me, i already got over 3000 in quadrant, my higher screenshot is of 2975(qudrant scores btw 2700/2900), when i get 3000+ again, ill get one screenshot and post in here =)

Did you enhance?

the video isn't fake, and the scores are accurate, but it doesn't mean that this particular person is running gingerbread on the atrix, especially since he never shows any part of the new motoblur os. the fact that gingerbread is coming out soon though and is already in testing on the atrix has been proven to us by Kennethpenn, who has real screenshots and video on both the briefmobile site and the thread in the dev section here. whats the point of wasting time argueing over whether a video like this is using the real gingerbread os when you can go get actual info, screenshots, and vids just 3 clicks away

56.7 fps on Neocore, 40.8 fps on Nenamark1, 22.8 fps on Nenamark2, 2539 on Quadrant. Temperature never went over 32 Centigrade/Celsius, back to back tests.
Should add 4.1.83, Gingerbreak, Gladenable, Tenfars CWM, GladiAtrix 3, Cool Blue themed.

Played with Galaxy S with Froyo and....

I just played with a Galaxy with 2.2 Froyo. And I can honestly say I see absolutely no performance upgrade. Yes flash is there and a few added features we all no about in froyo. But nothing noticeable! There was still lag on the lock screen and animations. Market was better, browser seemed the same when I tested speed against my fascinate. Except flash.
Was I getting excited for nothing? Any

Sent from my Samsung Fascinate using XDA App
not only is that right about development, but any froyo that you have played with that is out right now isnt final. supposedly samsung pulled it to make major optimizations and put their phones up to par with all the other froyo phones. we will not actually know how it runs on the fascinate to we get a build that is specific to the fascinate. Im still holding out a little hope, however ive never seen any lockscreen lag to begin with so dont know what thats all about.and once i put adw or LP as my launcher i really dont see any lag. it sticks for a second every once in a while but i never see the jitteryness that i had on my droid x, that she now has with froyo that is not one bit faster than my fascinate. i dont know about everyone else but im ready for that nice big LTE LG phone that we all saw on engadget and every other news site. that would be nice

I know I've heard this stated wrong a couple places. A major release is 1.x to 2.x and a minor release is x.1 to x.2 so the froyo update is a minor release. Most of the features are under the hood improvements. I've seen froyo on the evo and most of my friends didn'tnotice a difference.

Please. If you need to be told about performance to notice it, then its a placebo. Maybe you should re-read. The op never said they didn't know what froyo adds, as you insinuate. They said they didn't see a performance increase. Two very different things. Coming from Froyo on two different phones....a lot of these performance increases are situational, and not translating into overall performance increases.
Plus how can you say the op is wrong about galaxy s froyo if he had tried it and you have not? Samsung has a track record for screwing **** up.

Well, okay. Since you said please. Lol.
There's a notable performance difference is my point. Having played with quite a few 2.1 and 2.2 roms on my Nexus, it is night and day. Heavy apps and games load quicker and run smoother. Hard multitasking doesn't cause any drag. The browser is twice as fast running side by sides.
Ill speak more plainly then, so perhaps you can catch on to my point.
My mother in law plays farmville and checks email. If I upgrade her 1.8 ghz P4 with a gig of ram to a quad core 2.6 ghz and 6gb gaming memory, she really isn't going to see much of a performance difference in farmville and hotmail.
However, when I run photoshop, play with video editing, or crank up Fallout3, it will be very evident.
JIT is not a placebo. Nor is the V8 browser, or the kernel based memory management improvements that 2.2 brings.
So again, if you do not see the performance enhancements, then you do not know what you are looking for.
This is a statement, not an opinion.
As for samsung screwing it up, it is possible, though I won't care a whit as soon as I can get into either a clean AOSP froyo rom, or a CM port.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I've used a Nexus One before and after Froyo. We use the phone as a "computer" for research purposes. The performance upgrade may not be readily apparent to the average user but JIT really boosts performance for computations. Froyo also adds some API's that developers can use to boost performance.
From what I read the J.I.T COMPILER doesn't do much for the humming bird processor and gpu.....it improves performance much more on SNAPDRAGON Processors.

Okay, I am wide open. Please explain technically, or point to a source that explains how the snapdragon works better than the hummingbird with a virtual engine. JIT impacts the Dalvik VM, so you have lost me here. This is a sincere question.

As I'm sure you already know, any benchmarking software is only good for scores and is no real indication of everyday performance.
With that said, this phone is quick, smooth and sleek all as a stock phone. I can't wait for permroot.

i used screenshot it as well, but other peoples quality comes out better.
On Antutu I also get about 3300.
That as high as it goes with all the speed booster.
i got 1200
I got 2487 stock using motoblur, any reason why mine is not at 2900 and above?
I got 3449 on AnTutu. Sorry I dont have a screen shot app and I refuse to pay $4 for Screen Shot It when I will basically never use it.
Try downloading speed booster lite and a free sd card speed booster.

unless you re-wrote the APK to support both cores, then you're gonna be better off using either Antutu or CF Bench.
Besides Quadrant not testing both cores, who wants to compare thier phone to the 2009 lineup? Time to upgrade your benchmarking app. I dont need an app to know the Atrix is better than the OGdroid. Quadrant sucks!

They are just numbers ppl like to boast about and doesn't mean your phone is any faster/more responsive with a higher score.
And. Any scores wether antutu/quadrant/or whatever can be faked.

Np.. just saying everytime I flash a nightly I have to do this.. it's annoying as hell where as I just flash ScaryStable once with each nightly flash and I'm good to go and I notice a HUGE difference in performance.
For what it's worth, the V6 Supercharger (currently running the update9 beta) provides an optimal RAM manager which eliminated my habit of installing AutoKiller w/ every ROM. Since running the Supercharger script, I've consistently ran w/ 175-180MB in free RAM w/ no app FC's. That alone is worth using this mod in my book.
Ty 4 trying.....tying to expand this to more people and let them know about it.I.think its worth all the hype and attention I can give it.
