Now going to give you a hint: there is a PDF.zip file at the bottom of his post that you might find useful.........
Hint #2 flash this using the fastboot command fastboot -i 0x413c flash dsp1 dsp1.mbn might make small change and where ever you see dsp1 replace it with amss, you just never know what might happen.....
Hint #3 http://forum.pocketables.net/showthread.php?t=9694 (For this link ALL credit goes to Radimus
Tech Zealot)

Install StreakMod through fastboot, when you reboot immediately press the vol up and down buttons to get you into StreakMod, if not then when you boot up your stock ROM it will overwrite the StreakMod recovery image you just flashed.
What I then did is I created a Nandroid backup of my stock ROM.
From there I didn't even reboot, I cleared the dalvik cache, clear the other cache, did a factory reset from both screens (the dell stock recovery screen and the StreakMod screen) and then I flashed the StreakDroid 1.9.
Now after you flash StreakDroid, when you reboot you need to go back to the stock Dell screen and choose factory reset, and let it boot from there. The process could take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes....
From there you should be ready to go

I was getting random reboots and some bootlooping and what the above poster said, worked for me (he helped me in my thread in the q&a section)
good luck

I wouldn't think you would need to if you are that far up to date. Just flash the ROM. I haven't personally used the 353 files, I was using 351 and just flashed the 354 amss and dsp1 just to feel like I was fully updated.

Please help

Hi,
First may i apologise if this has already been solved, but i cant find the thread.
I have a O.2 UK streak 4399 version 21.
I followed Pauls instructions to change baseband to the t. However now I can not boot. I get stuck on the dell logo. when I try recovery it just goes to a black screen.
I think its something to do with the 'system' files or 'etc'.
Fastboot is working.
Im quite a noob, and have flashed several times. this time i dont know whats wrong?
You guys on XDA are awesome and have helped so much before, I hope you can help now.
Many thanks !
I found an old stock recovery and flashed it. thankfully now recovery works.
Back to 1.6, 4399, with no flashing led's.
I got it to boot, but I have flashing home and menu led's.
For some reason Recovery still wont work and goes to a black screen. No matter what recovery I seem to use?

Thanks but I've tried this three times now, and I always end up reverting back to 1.6 with flashing home and menu LED's.
Everything else is working but recovery. I select update from .pkg, but all i can get is a black screen. Then i have to flash 1.6 again??

rogers dell streak running stock 02 2.1

ok guys i have completed this for all you rogers customers
this was completed on a rogers locked streak
these are the steps i took
i rooted mine using universal androot (real easy !)
installed fastboot drivers
nandroided using clockwork recovery (the one that worked for me was 1.8.1.7)
then i flashed back to stock recovery
then flashed 02 1.6 (build 4399)
then flashed 02 2.1 (build 8105)
restored apn setting
now im just gonna see if i should do the hyde's 2.2 but from what ive read apps go missing in market so im gonna have to ask around
but yea for all you rogers heads it has been done !!!!
Good job, That's the exact way that I did it. It only took 10 hours or so to finally figure it all out. The one good thing about it is, it was good learning. I came from using HTC phones, they are super easy to flash ROMS with. This streak is a little harder, at least having flash over so many times.
yea i came from a g1 so i know the deal
I sent you a PM asking if you have your nandroid backup handy. If you do can you mirror it somewhere to help me out? I can't find the Rogers build 7921 anywhere to download.
can you make into a update.pkg ?

I actually don't know, but for backup reasons (warranty) it would be nice to have. I can look into making it a pkg for flashing without clockworkmod. Thanks

Hello guys, I am a newbe and was wondering if one of you gurus can tell me step by step how to do this. I get the Nandroid part, I get lost on the "flashing" stock official Dell ROM, and the other builds. I dont know where to get these or how to do it.

Hey there! I'm so close I can taste Froyo.... but:
Would love the help of some of the more experienced here. I'm at at dead end.
Goal is to get to Custom 1.4.6 Froyo ROM. Currently I get stuck on a blank screen after trying a O2 1.6 (4399) update from a restored stock recovery. I can restore my nandroid 7921 backup but it come up with a number of errors so not feeling to solid about that. Also says baseband unknown (see below).
What I have done so far:
ii. Rooted with Universal Root (I think - rooted for sure, not sure exactly if it was UR or another, but it said it worked(after 2 trys))
1. Setup Fastboot mode with no problems (no driver problems just worked)
2. Installed clockwork recovery v1.8.1.7
2b. Backed up using nandroid
3. Used fastboot to apply dsp1.bin (720p video) and amss.bin (baseband?) updates for 1.4.6
4. Flashed DJS Froyo 1.4.6
Result was installed fine but on attempted boot the classic stuck at Dell logo. Pretty sure I left it long enough (about 15 min or so). No luck.
5. Restored 7921 backup. Worked but LEDs were flashing (baseband miss match?) and received a 'battery error' (battery charging disabled).
Then saw this thread realized the path to take = Rogers 1.6 -> O2 1.6 -> O2 2.1 -> DJS Froyo 1.4.6 so have set off on that path.
6. Installed Stock Recovery with Fastboot
7. Attempted to flash O2 1.6 (4399). result was a blank screen for a long time (left about 15 minutes)
Soooooo....
Just to prove to myself I wasn't screwed I have since fastboot installed clockwork recovery and restored 7921 nandoid back-up. Only problem seems to be an error stating "sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext." It boots now but has that battery error still about not charging.
What I believe I should be doing (goal is still to get to DJS 1.4.6) is:
1. Restore recovery to stock recovery and flashing O2 1.6 (4933)
2. Flash O2 2.1 (8105)
3. Fastboot the recover to clockworks
4. Flash to DJS 1.4.6
But not sure how to get past my blank screen after restore of stock recovery and attempted flashing of o2 1.6 (4933). Have tried 2 different stock recovery images and 2 different o2 1.6 (4933) pkg files.
Would appreciate anyone who can show me the error(s) of my ways.
Thanks so much.
Cheers.

yep you should of flashed 02 1.6 first then 02 2.1 then upgraded to 1.4.6
if you can still get to recovery then you should be able to get things running again
my advice would be to try to get your baseband back to normal , not exactly sure how maybe you could find an alternate , also i think that you sd-ext could be solved by re mounting it in clockwork recovery ,ill do what i can to help you , baseband flashing is new to me

[Q] OK so i know my GF's phone isnt bricked but...

Hey MT4G guru's i need your assistance.
1st off im an Evo user..rooted and all so im not to shabby at doing this. 2nd I rooted her phone using visionary.
So on to the problem. I tried to flash her a theme. I nandrioded (backup) first as usual. The theme which ended up being a full ROM--> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929101
It flashed successfully but when i rebooted it gets stuck at the white MT4G screen and stays there forever.
**I can still get into the bootloader & recovery.**
Tried to restore...NO LUCK. It restores, I reboot then the Same white screen.
Tried to factory reset, dalvik & cache wipe..... NO LUCK
Tried Update.zip Nothing!!!
Even tried pd15img in the bootloader. NOTHING!! It doesnt even recognize it!!
Guys i even looked into odin which i found out it isnt needed on phones with recovery.
Hate to sound like a noob but Help!!!!
...A fixed phone will result in 30,000 "thanks" button presses.....cause shes pissed to say the least....
Edit: Ok i believe i found the problem. I had clockwork 2.5.1.2 instead of 3 on her phone. Ok so now that i found the problem how do i fix it??
go to this link http://goo.gl/K0xTy and follow the instructions. you are flashing a cm7 rom and for this phone requires a different recovery. Then flash your rom
Flash cm6 first it will boot with 2.5
twiztid
If you made a nandroid backup, which you always should do before flashing a new rom, you can restore it using clockwork 2.5.1.2. If you don't have a backup you can do two things. You can use fastboot to flash clockwork recovery v3.0.0.5 to the phone then reboot into recovery and successfully flash CM7. If you don't know how to use fastboot then you can use the existing recovery to flash a froyo based rom on the phone. Either iced glacier or CM6 will flash ok. Perform a full wipe before you flash. Once you have a froyo rom working you can follow TrueBlue_Drew's thread about getting clockwork 3 on the phone without issue. I'm on my phone so I can't provide the link but it is in the mt4g development section. It is in a sticky called Resource Bible. In the OP, scroll until you see the header Recoveries and choose the link called Easiest way to install clockwork 3.0.0.5 by TrueBlue_Drew. Follow his instructions and you'll be able to switch between clockwork versions with no hassle. Of course, once you have clockwork 3 working you can flash CM7.
EDIT: Drew replied before I finished writing so follow his link once you are able to boot successfully.

Cant get ROM manager to do anything...

wont back up anything, wont boot in to recovery, when I turn the phone off and boot in to recovery I get dells program... I wan to install 1.0.9 but when I go to update from sd, the screen comes up and says it will flash a recovery rom..
why you trying to use rom manager?
just put the update.zip in root of sdcard, flash custom recovery (most likely already have one if your on streak droid) and flash the new from the custom recovery.

nothing works, I'm trying to make a back up...
I don't know how to add the streak recovery program,
when I had this issue with the HTC inspire, it was because fastboot was on, but I dont see a fast boot option on dell streak...
Does rom manager work with the streak? Never heard it mentioned in the streak section.
Posted with StreakZilla, using XDA App.
I would think...
I just found the DELL PDF, im going to read through it, to install clockwork recovery on my phone since rom manager cant or wont do it... I'm thinking my inspire was much more user friendly, that's a -1 for my new streak to more - and craiglist or ebay it will go! lol
Maybe a bit late, but ROM Manager does not work for the Dell streak.
Thremix, if you haven't already sold your streak:
You can do everything you can through recovery without using rom manager. It's not difficult, it's just another way, and as with anything new, takes some time, that's all.
NO I just got the phone today, I read the PDF and went in to fastboot, ran the command to install clockwork and then I boot in to recovery, but nothing, just dell stock....
Now I'm getting frustrated... If I can just get streakmod or clockwork on here I would be a happy guy lol for now, this phone cant hold a candle to the speed of the inspire, from what I have seen on youtube 1.0.9 flys! I want that rom...
OK I got it, I am doing a nandroid backup.... it's taking some time... more time than I like.. it also keeps blinking? how long does it take?
OK phone looks like it is stuck, I'm not sure what to do.... but it's been about 15 minutes now. and the phone is new, so it's not like it has a lot to backup....
OH, and clockwork is upside down lol..
Nandroid should not take more than 5 minutes.

Can't install any app at all! Please help!

I was on Fards GingerStreak today and decided to try on Longhorn 2.2.2. So I went stock 354 2.2. Then flashed Longhorn. Now I cant install any apps from market or sideloaded. They download fine but they hang forever on the installing screen. I was able to download fine on GingerStreak. Does anyone know what could of happened. I dont thing I need to flash DSP1 or Amss. I went to stock to froyo before making the jump to Longhorn. As far as I know going back to stock applies the DSP1 and amss. Please help!
If you read the first post, I said that gingerstreak's amss and dsp1 are not backwards compatible and you will need to flash both in order for everything to work. I know because I came from 2.3.3. I fought with it till I changed those 2 files.

I thought flashing stock rom would change those two files I guess I was wrong because back on 2.3 and everything installs fine again. Guess I will try it again and change those files.
UPDATE: I did it again and flashed the amss and dsp1. It still does not work can not install any apps.

Before you start getting your pants in a wad, just be patient and go through the process again... I'll be bried because it seems you have a grasp on procedure...
Flash stock recovery.img, have update.pkg on SD card and flash stock ROM and let it boot a couple of times, not putting in any info
flash streakmod recovery and boot into recovery immediately because if not the stock rom will overwrite you streakmod recovery...
wipe the cache... wipe the dalvik cache and then flash the zip....when you select reboot catch it as soon as the Dell logo and on Dell recovery select factory reset... then you should be good to go
Did all that did not work twice and still didn't work. Might give it a try later again but ran out of patience.

What i suggested in case anyone else has a similar problem is:
You might try to backup your SD card contents to your PC. then format the SD card, and try to flash LH again, since it could be an ext setting from Gingerstreak. After you should be able to go back and forth between the two.
Keep in mind you will lose all of your SD card contents if you don't back them up first.
